Dark Desires Ch. 18

Deacon watched how over the last few weeks Georgia went from being almost bed ridden to walking around and working hard to get herself back to her normal weight. The first time he saw her, it was looking at a skinned skeleton, and if he remembered correctly she was 97lbs.

Now as he watched her move through the house on her way to the office that Ruby set up for the psychologist to work with her, he could see she was about 115lb; while she still had a ways to go to get back to her original weight, she was moving in the right direction. He knew that it made Ruby happy to see her starting to thrive.

Chuckling a bit as she lightly knocked on the door, out of all the women in the house, Georgia was still timid, but given what she went through it wasn't surprising. His eyes caught movement, looking up as he watched his love walk down the stairs.

Unable to stop himself he couldn't help but lick his lips at the sight of her. Always with a simple cotton dress, while he enjoyed it when she dressed up for him, seeing her in her most relaxed state always did something to him.

He watched her as she walked with Mercury, and Angela, knowing that they were heading towards the training room. It was an impressive sight, the women of this house if they weren't doing something important, they were in the training room. He knew that Ruby took her training seriously, and Mercury enjoyed having other women in her life that enjoyed learning it.

Finishing up his last bit of blood, his mind wandered back to the night that both Raquel and Mercury came back from their mission, and the reaction of his lovely mate.

FLASHBACK (1 month ago – the night after Georgia woke)

Deacon watched as Mercury walked into the house, he could see some relief in her face. "Is this Jason dead?" A part of him hoping that he was, another, hoping to be the one to rip out his spine, if anything more than to please his love.

Nodding, "Yes. He was in the house when you three entered." Handing him the file, her eyes found Alexander gently touching Angela's shoulder. Smirking at the sight, "I'm glad you found your mate." She said to the council leader.

Angela could only blush at her comment, "Thanks." While she was willing to accept everything that comes with being a mate, it was a still a new concept for her, she only had one boyfriend in high school, but after he got his basketball scholarship, he broke up with her, and never spoke to her again.

Gently pulling his angel a little closer to him, his eyes found the blonde smirking at him, knowing that she was used to seeing the protective nature of a male vampire towards his mate, given the fact that she was there every step of the way with Deacon and Ruby. "Thank you, Mercury." His eyes turning towards Angela, "It was a welcomed surprise."

Deacon kept his thoughts to himself, knowing that until Angela let him claim her, he would be edgy towards anyone that could potentially be a threat to their mating. Busying himself with the file, he was pleased to know that he wasn't part of his banner directly, he was working assigned under Ivan, and from what Blade described he was the one that killed Ruby.

"Ivan was his master; he was killed at the farm by Blade." Taking a sip of the whiskey, his eyes landed on Ruby as she walked out of Georgia's room. He could see that she was tense, "What is wrong my love?" he asked, standing to meet her.

Moving to sit next to him, "Nothing, she was able to finish her shake this morning, and I was able to get her drink half another not too long ago." Taking a glass of blood that Mercury was holding, "Thank you." Letting the blood soothe her ache, she took a second before speaking again.

"We walked around the room a bit, and I brought her outside to sit on the porch, but she get's tired easily. I will have a physical therapist come to the house in a day or so to help get her more active." Leaning into his shoulder, "At least this Jason and Ivan are dead," knowing that settled a lot of her rage and anger. "What of the father?" she asked, her eyes looking around for Raquel.

Mercury knew that Ruby would take anyone be given to a vampire personally, while for her it led her to Deacon, but 99% of the time that was not the case. "I called her when I arrived home," feeling relief that her lover was safe and on her way home. "She has him with her."

Deacon could feel Ruby tense at that, "My goddess, what do you want to happen to him?" he asked, knowing that she was somewhere between murder and answers.

Closing her eyes, Ruby didn't really know what she wanted, and that made her the absolutely wrong person to interact with the man. "Answers, please get me answers." Her eyes falling to Deacon, "After you have them, I will speak with Georgia and see what she feels is a fair punishment."

Smirking at his love, always one for justice, while he had no problem with the idea of turning him into confetti, he understood that his injustice wasn't towards them directly it was towards his daughter, and Ruby was giving her new familiar a voice in her own justice. "That sounds fair." Leaning down, he gently nipped her neck, enjoying how her body shivered at his touch.

Angela looked at the pair, enjoying seeing how they are still growing to love the other, it gave her great hope of the future with Alexander. Quickly glancing at him, she found his eyes on hers, giving him a small smile, she turned towards Mercury whose eyes were plastered on the front door. "Is everything OK?" she asked.

Not taking her eyes off the door, Mercury nodded, "Yes, Raquel is back." Looking over at Deacon, "I'll bring him towards the barn." Knowing that they turned a portion of it into a holding cell. Moving quickly, she was out the door, and taking the human to the barn.

Ruby could feel her fangs, "I'm going to get some blood." Standing quickly, she looked at Deacon who was now standing with her, placing a kiss on his lips, "Thank you."

Moving towards the kitchen, Ruby started the process of getting her blood warm, her eyes finding a concerned looking Angela, "I'm fine, but the idea of a parent giving their child to a vampire, just angers me."

Angela sat at the island, watching Ruby slowly drink the bag of blood, "I'm sure. Given your history of a human sending you to a vampire club, I can see why it pisses you off." Grabbing a banana, "Your story turned out amazing, but it could have easily turned out the way it did for Georgia or worse."

Tossing the bag in the trash, Ruby could only just nod. Sitting next to her friend, "It really could have been." Tilting her head, she could hear both Alexander and Deacon heading out to the barn, "Seems like the men are going to interrogate Mr. Evans." Smirking at Angela's face.

"You know, I killed Krieger when I was a human, he murdered my best friend, and I did enjoy finding the truth." Lightly touching her shoulder, knowing that she wanted to go, "I'll be fine sitting in the house if you want to watch."

Wrapping her arms around Ruby, "Thanks. Is there something I should know?" A little worried about how she should act.

Walking her towards the back door, "Deacon's will not be kind nor gentle, he will be the vampire that haunted your dreams as a child, if that is not something you are ready for, don't, but if you can embrace that side of yourself then it will be a good learning opportunity for you as a Lady."

Taking a tentative step, Angela looked back, "And why aren't you going?" Curious about the whole thing.

Leaning against the door frame, she could hear the human crying already, smirking at the sound, "Because, I feel very strongly, I'm afraid that still being so young I'd kill him before I'd get answers. Georgia deserves answers."

Angela nodded, "Makes sense. If you need anything, send a text."

Ruby chuckled as she watched Angela walk across to the barn, making sure that she was in the door before she went back inside. She could hear Georgia crying in her sleep, hissing at the sound, she moved towards her room, gently rocking her back to sleep, in the morning, she would search for a therapist that would be able to help her come to grips with her past, and new reality.

Deacon watched Alexander tense when Angela walked into the barn, but that was for him to deal with, she was his and by rights no longer a familiar to his house. Turning his attention to the cowering human, "Seems like you've been a bad man, Michael Evans." Inhaling deeply, the smell of fear was almost intoxicating.

Mike looked up into the ice blue eyes of the vampire in front of him, not really knowing who he was, "You can't kill me, I belong to Jason Pachinko." Holding up his wrist showing his glyph.

Deacon couldn't help but laugh, "Won't be a problem, we killed him a few days ago. Raided his house outside of Queens." Crouching down in front of the human, "You want to know what we found in that house, 7 dead humans, and 1 barely clinging to life."

Angela lightly touched Alexander's hand, she knew as the head of the council that he would have to interrogate vampires and humans alike, and as his mate it was something that she would have to get used to. But as she watched Deacon, she now understood what Ruby was saying, he was terrifying.

Alexander never took his eyes off the human before him, but he gently squeezed his angel's hand, hoping that she understood that this was par for course when dealing with a violator of the laws.

Wrapping his hand around the man's throat, Deacon slowly stood, enjoying feeling him struggle against his hand. Lifting him off the ground, "You answer my questions, and honestly, no pain, hesitate or lie." Using his other hand Deacon grabbed the man's ankle snapping it.

Mike screamed out, "OK PLEASE."

Deacon dropped him, enjoying the grunt he made as he hit the ground. "What was your job as Jason's familiar?" he asked, figuring that would be a good place to start.

Holding his ankle, his eyes never leaving the man in front of him, "I am a blood runner. Occasionally he had me bring him whores to feed off." His turning towards the hissing behind him, seeing the blonde hold the redhead back.

Moving to stand over him, Deacon was pissed, having a human bring you your dinner? Weak. It was good this Jason was dead, he wasn't really a vampire, just a child with fangs. "And what was your mistake that pissed Jason off so much?"

Sitting up a little higher on his knees, "I missed a delivery time, I didn't get him the blood before sunrise." Mike was so confused, why would this vampire care about that? Perhaps now that Jason was dead, he was taking over his familiars. Too bad he gave his daughter to Jason; he was sure this man would appreciate her.

Angela looked down at the man, then back to Deacon, she recognized that look, her mother had it once. Remember that her mother was going to let her dealer fuck her for some crank, but lucky for her, he wasn't particle to little girls, and made her mom earn her drugs. Closing her eyes, she had to let the rage pass; she now knew why Ruby wouldn't be in the same room as him, she'd just kill him.

Knowing that Ruby wanted the answer that she couldn't ask, "And why would give your daughter to him?" He asked, his eyes staring down into his brown eyes.

Swallowing, "She is young and beautiful, any vampire would love to keep her. Figured it was the best way to fix my mistake." Feeling absolutely no shame in his decision. "My regret now is not having something to offer you."

Before Deacon could speak, Angela stepped forward, kicking the man in the face, "You're a piece of shit." She screamed, bringing her foot down on his knee, enjoying the sound of the bone cracking. Lifting her foot again to his other foot, she felt herself being lifted off the ground and her back into the hard chest of Alexander.

Alexander held her tightly, "It's OK my angel," his voice calm, "He will suffer for hurting her so." He said, nuzzling her neck, knowing that would help calm her. Placing her down, he was surprised when she turned and wrapped her arms around his waist. Petting her hair, "It's OK my angel."

Angela took several deep breaths, enjoying having his scent surround her, "Thank you." She whispered into his chest.

Deacon smirked, his eyes falling to the human, "We saved your daughter that night we raided the house, my mate is watching over her as we speak." Enjoying seeing the fear in his eyes, "And when she is ready, she will decide your fate." Turning towards Mercury, "Get him fixed up, and make sure he lives, don't want him dying before Georgia makes her choice."

Mercury chuckled, "Don't worry, I have a few of our familiars coming now," reaching down to the now broken man, "welcome to your hell." Tossing him into the cell. Looking over at Deacon, she felt Raquel grab her hand, "Let's get something to eat." Gently pulling her out of the barn.

Watching them leave, Deacon turned to Alexander and Angela, "I am going to inform Ruby what happened, enjoy your evening." With that he took off towards his house, wanting to make sure that she was safe.

END FLASHBACK

Hearing his name be called pulled him from the memory, turning towards Alexander, who was coming back from a meeting of his House, "Everything go OK?"

Wanting to shred the suit he was wearing, all he could do was nod, "Yes, fine." Grabbing a glass, he poured himself some whiskey, "A small pocket of bitten have made an attempt on House Upier, no one was injured other than the bitten." Enjoying the burn from the alcohol, his eyes searched for Angela, wanting to know that she was safe.

"She's in the training room." Knowing who he was looking for.

A sigh of relief washed over him, "Good." Rubbing his face, other than the small pockets, the bitten community has fallen into line rather quickly, most of them grateful for the intervention, but it was the ones that were turned by the helps help, they were the ones hating all the rules. "As long as we keep the pressure on, the bitten community that is now aligned with their Houses, the small pockets will have no where to hide."

Deacon could only smile at the thought, over the last few weeks, being able to travel through the country, ending the weak-minded vampires, reestablishing the Houses in their territories brought him great pleasure. "That's good to know."

Hearing the door open to the office, he watched as Georgia walked out with her doctor, he watched as Georgia walked towards the kitchen, a small smile on her face. Turning his attention to the doctor that was now standing a few feet from her, "Is there something we should know?"

Dr. Kahn smiled, "She's working through a lot of her trauma, I'm comfortable from being weakly to bi-weekly, but that can always be adjusted as based on her needs." His eyes finding the Head of the council watching him, feeling a bit nervous, normally he dealt with Ruby, but she must be otherwise occupied.

Deacon just nodded, "OK, I'll let Ruby know, if Georgia doesn't." Effectively dismissing the man. While he wasn't outwardly cruel to humans, he really didn't have much to say to them either.

With a polite nod, Dr. Kahn walked out of the house, and back to his family.

Alexander chuckled, "I think you enjoy making them nervous."

Filling a glass with whiskey, "I do." Turning his attention to Georgia who was now making her way down to the training room, chuckling at the thought, soon he would have 5 warrior women in his house, while other houses didn't have a single one.

Alexander watched as the young woman headed down the stairs, "Soon, it will be time for Angela and I to leave." Knowing that they were now a mated couple, all that was left was for him to turn her, but he wouldn't push her, it was a big commitment and he wanted her to be 100% ready for it.

Looking over at him, he knew that they were almost there, "And here I just got used to seeing you every day." He teased. While he was mostly joking, he did bond with Alexander, and it was nice to have someone that could hold their own against him in a sword fight.

Ruby looked up as Georgia walked in, "How was your appointment?" She asked, as she watched Angela square off against Raquel.

Moving to sit next to her, "Well, Dr. Kahn says it's time to confront my dad." Closing her eyes, she knew that she was ready, but it was still a terrifying prospect. "I still don't know what I want to happen to him." Biting her lips, "If his death won't satisfy me, what are good options for punishment?" she asked her Lady.

Ruby turned her eyes to the young woman, enjoying how her hazel eyes sparkled, "Well, there is a Vampire House in Canada, they don't kill familiars that fail their masters, or break laws, they have a work camp of sorts, they are fed, clothed, but it's like a working prison. They make clothes and things of that nature. Depending on the crime, it could be a lifetime, or a few years."

Georgia could only smile at the thought, "I think that would be best, have him serve a year or so, have his life dictated by someone else, then after he served, he can just vanish, and I never have to see him again."

Rubbing her back, "If that is what you want, I will make the arrangements tonight." While she would prefer the man to die, she wasn't the offended party.

Feeling a sigh of relief, "Can you take me to him now?" Wanting to confront him before she lost her nerve.

Linking her arm through hers, "Of course." With that Ruby led Georgia to the holding cell in the barn, looking over at Mercury and Raquel watching them, "Finish up, I'll be back soon enough."

Georgia held tightly to Ruby, while she trusted everyone else in the house, it was Ruby that she trusted above anyone else, but given the fact that she was the first person she saw twice, it wasn't much of a surprise.

Ruby didn't rush, slowly making their way to the barn, enjoying the sounds of the animals that lived on the property. But as she stood at the entry way, she turned slightly to Georgia, "Only if you are ready." Not wanting to push her one way or another.

Shaking the last bit of her nerves off, she swallowed her fear, it was time to face her past so that she could fully embrace her future. "I'm ready."

Nodding, Ruby opened the door, extending her hand, and carefully maneuvered her in, as they made their way to the cell, Ruby could see the human guard watching them, "Give a moment, please."

"Yes ma'am." With that he made his way out of the barn, standing at the doorway.

Georgia took a few tentative steps to the cell, seeing her father lie there. While he was in a cell, he was still healthy looking, that almost pissed her off, her prison almost killed her, but Vangr wouldn't allow him to die. When his brown eyes locked on to hers, she had to hold back a scream, he took so much from her, he wasn't going to take away her dignity.

Michael looked up, seeing his daughter, while she was skinnier than he last remembered, but she looked good. Her auburn-colored hair was a bit dull, but it was long, and down her back. "Pumpkin."

Hissing at the name, "Don't you dare." Letting go of Ruby's hand, she moved to stand in front of him, "You gave me to psycho vampire because you failed to do your one job." Georgia could feel her body starting to shake, "I spend the first few days in that place, wondering if you were going to come, save me, but it was painfully obvious that you didn't fucking care about me. How else could a man give his only child away."

Mike moved to stand, but it was the feral growl coming from the blonde that kept him place.

If it wasn't such a serious moment for her, Georgia could have laughed at his terrified face. "You keep your fucking mouth shut and listen. It is my turn." Closing her eyes, she needed to center herself, once she felt she had a better control of her emotions, she found he father on his knees, almost pleading with her, "Your pathetic apology means nothing to me, you mean nothing to me."

Taking a step closer to the bars, "I have thought every day for the last month of what would be a fitting punishment for you, I could just have you killed, but honestly that seems like an easy way out. I could keep you here, as a prisoner until I get bored of you, but then, you would be in my space, around me, and you are not worth that either. So, when Lady Vangr suggested sending you to familiar prison in Canada, I knew that was what you needed."

Looking over at Ruby, "Lady Vangr, I have decided his punishment, since I was about 8 years old until I was 23, I worked for him, cleaning apartments in our building for money, cooking all our meals, cleaning our home, all for him to toss me away like I meant nothing to him."

"Please pumpkin." He started but was cut off by the blonde.

"If you wish to keep your tongue, I suggest you shut the fuck up." Ruby hissed. Turning back to Georgia, "Please continue."

Shaking off her nerves, "His punishment should be servitude, with no chance of a turning by any vampire or their house, he will serve and die like the pathetic human he is." Her eyes locking on father, "You will never become a vampire."

"BITCH!" How could she do this to him?

Ruby laughed, "DONE." Looking over at her shoulder, "Kevin, please come here." She yelled. Smiling when he double timed it towards her.

"Yes ma'am." Ready for his orders.

"Please escort Mr. Evans to House Ashe in Canada, they will be expecting you." Turning her eyes now at the human was who attempting to fight off Kevin as he pulled him out of the cell. Reaching over, Ruby grabbed him by the throat holding him higher, "I would resist fighting if I were you." Pulling him closer, she could smell his fear, "If it was up to me, you'd be skinned for what you've done." Tossing him back towards Kevin, "Make sure he get's to where he's going, unharmed." Ruby wanted to make sure that he experienced every moment of his punishment.

Georgia jumped back as Ruby tossed her dad towards the guard. "After this moment, I will never think of you again." Moving a bit closer to Ruby, she couldn't help but turn into her arms. Not wanting to see him as he was pulled out of the barn.

Ruby pulled her closer, "Let's get back to the house, it's time for you to start your training." Chuckling at her face.

Looking over at her as they entered the house, Georgia realized that Ruby was leading her towards the kitchen, "What kind of training?" she asked her, curious about why she would want her trained, she figured that she was just going to be a gopher.

Gently pushing her into the chair, Ruby started making her an omelet, enjoying the familiarity of doing something so human. As she heard the eggs sizzle, she spoke, "Because my dear, regardless of if you remain human or vampire, I need to know that you can take care of yourself."

The words brought her back when she had that conversation with Angela. Plating the eggs, she turned and put the food in front of her, "Plus, great exercise, and a fantastic stress reliever when you are feeling a bit pent up." Leaning against the counter, she watched as Georgia ate her fill, smiling that she was starting to put on weight.

Enjoying as the food hit her stomach, she looked up at Ruby as she drank some blood. "So, what you're saying is," wiping her mouth, "you want me to be able to take care of myself, if I'm out running an errand or something."

Tossing the blood bag in the trash, "Exactly. I want you to stay on as my familiar, but who knows at some point you may decide that it's not for you, and in that case, I want you to be able to feel safe in your own skin again." That was the most important thing about any female familiar she would take on, that they could truly defend themselves against the world.

Before Georgia could speak again, she found Deacon walking into the kitchen, blushing as he wrapped his arms around Ruby. Turning her head slightly to give them a bit of privacy, she took a few more bites of her food, but as she finished, she could see that he was watching her. "Evening."

Deacon looked down at the young woman, "Did you handle your father?" he asked, curious about her decision.

Georgia was always intimidated by the man, while she trusted him enough not to hurt her, she was sure that if she did something to dishonor the house or namely Ruby, he would snap her like a fucking twig. Clearing her throat, "Yes, I have decided to treat him as he treated me as a child, an indentured servant. I did it for 15 years, he can too."

Ruby looked at her love, "I find the punishment fits the crime." Nuzzling his neck, "And you my dear?"

Resisting the urge to toss her on the counter and have his way, he settled for a quick kiss on her lips. Looking over at her, "I'm glad you finally go your justice." Swatting Ruby's ass as he opened the fridge, "I have a phone meeting with Sato, seems like he and his daughter would like to come back to New York for a visit."

Looking over her shoulder, she gently pulled Georgia towards the training room, "I look forward to meeting Sato again, and his daughter. They are more than welcome to come as long as you have no issues." Giving him a wink, she looked over at Georgia, "Let's get started."

Georgia took a deep breath, "Lead the way." While she was still nervous about learning how to fight, but her trust in Ruby was absolute. So, she wanted her to learn, she would learn, and she would damn sure do her best to make her proud.
