Aside that I was busy writing another fanfics, I want to let you guys know I was rewriting the first chapter. It was my priority to change some ideas and extend some scenes, also fixing the grammar and changing the present tense to past tense. Unfortunately, I haven't finished rewriting the first chapter and I didn't have time to continue the story either. I'm very sorry, but I hope you are happy now that you're going to read this new chapter. However, I want to let you know that there's a possibility that the progress will be slower from now on because I'm still rewriting the first chapters, but I'll do my best to keep this ongoing.
One more thing, I have a big important announcement that you shouldn't missed it, so stay to the end of this chapter.
Anyways, here it is what you've been waiting for and hope you'll enjoy it.
Chapter 6: Perilous Secrets.
After Elliot and Akeno used the magic circle to transport into his house, they were now in the living room. They were sitting separately on the couches to face each other, and also they're having a small late-night snack with a plate of cookies and two glasses of milk onto the coffee table, but neither of them had taken a bite or a sip, like they just lost their appetite after what they've witnessed the gruesome moment in the shrine. They've been quiet for almost five minutes because they knew what the topic will talk. Actually Akeno was waiting if Elliot would say if he's willing to talk this over, but she noticed he was trying to divert his eyes from her while twiddling his thumbs. She started to feel concern, thinking he might be a little nervous to speak to her.
Akeno didn't mean to show her sadistic personality to him, and knew exactly how he'd react since the beginning. As a matter of fact, she tried to contain the excitement when Elliot let her have fun and tortured Dnias with no remorse. It's like her inner dark side just took over the control of her mind to make that scene so wicked against her will. Therefore, Akeno asked Rias to go with him because she needs to tell him the reason about her action. However, she knew he might be uncomfortable to talk about it, but what choices could she have, leave him alone for a moment until he's ready to hear her backstory? It was now or never.
When she realized this was getting nowhere with the awkward silence, Akeno decided to speak up right now.
"Elliot, I know what you're thinking right now and I understand what you feel. But before we can begin our discussion, I'm going to ask you a question, and I want you tell me the truth." Akeno said with seriousness on her voice, but with a mix of concern as well. "What do you think about me right now?"
Elliot finally turned his eyes on her, with his expression of stupefaction by her question. Then he opened his mouth to say something, but he quickly shut it when he realized it's complicated what he should answer her without hurting her feelings by accident.
Aware that he should answer, without lies, Elliot took a breath. "I won't lie to you, Akeno… I really don't know." He said with sincerity, so Akeno wouldn't think he's making an excuse. "After I saw what you did to the Stray Devil… I was very confused. But it was like you were not the same person as I know for the way you acted. But that's not all," He looked downwards. "When we fought back at the park, when I delivered the first strike on you, you openly enjoyed that you were like…" He bit his lower lip, feeling very unsure to finish his sentence.
"Like what?" Akeno asked softly, like she knows exactly what he's going to say.
"Please, forgive me when I say this…" He said with a gulp. "You acted like you are… A masochist."
Akeno went speechless, but she already knew he was going to say something like that. She didn't forget that fight as a matter of fact, and she couldn't deny it was fun and exciting to witness Elliot's powers she never seen it before. However, she always knew, or at least being aware, that Elliot had already seen her darker side; another reason why she cannot make a step back anymore, but that means another issue she must try to explain.
"Are you sure you want to know who I truly am?" She asked with her eyes thoughtfully closed, just to be completely sure if he's willing to hear her little backstory.
Elliot leaned back against the couch cushion, and let out a sigh through his nose to relieve the tension from his mind. "If this is the reason you wanted to come with me to my house, then I won't move out from this couch."
After a brief moment of silence, Akeno opened her eyes with an unflinching resolution. "Very well then." She said as she settled "Before the time I was the first member of Rias' peerage, I used to be a human like you. My sadist personality was inherited from my mother's. But you don't have to worry about that, she took very good care of me and she's a very kind woman. I still remembered the great times I had with her..." Akeno flashed a smile, but suddenly her cheerful expression worn off and changing with sadness.
Elliot noticed that look and thought she must be missing her mother. "Um, where is she now?" He decided to ask by curious, and interested if he would have the chance to meet her.
"She... Passed away after she had a divorce with my father." Akeno responded with a slight tremble in her voice, trying to suppress the sorrow by just remembering the loss of the person she loved.
Elliot's eyes widened in shock, now feeling terribly regretted for not realize before. "Oh man, I am very sorry. God, I'm such an idiot..." He hissed and slapped his head while repeating himself mentally how dumb he was.
"Don't blame yourself, Elliot. It's very obvious you didn't know. I don't know where's my father ever since, but I rather not to see him again for leaving me and my mother." She said with a hint of disdain, meaning that what he have done was very unforgivable that she'd wish there would be some way to make him pay.
Elliot decided not to question why her parents decided to separate. It's a sad thing to remember indeed, he knew how it feels when the happiest moments with a family just vanished for a divorce or something even much worse. Though Akeno didn't suffer the same past like he experienced, the grief she's having was the same level.
Akeno shook her head to forget that memory and continued. "Back to the topic, about my masochism. My father had that personality as well and genetically I shared it from him. Kinda strange family I have, right?" She giggled to have a little dose of humor.
Elliot smiled awkwardly as he rubbed the back of his head. "Yeah, it seems like it. But I let you know my friends are kinda strange too. Joe always self-proclaims himself to be the best fighter, but he gets too far away with his ego. Andy can be very frustrated when he loses a fight against his brother, he has always trained too hard with the promise to defeat him one day. Honestly, I'd be pretty embarrassed if you meet them." He laughed.
Akeno smiled, a little relief that somehow they have something in common. But the discussion was not over. "Elliot, I'm sorry I didn't tell you my secret. I was worried if you would be afraid of me for the way I enjoyed the pain and torturing." She said apologetically. "It's just I was born like this and I can't change, even if I'd try."
"I understand." Elliot answered with a compassionate look, which surprised Akeno. "Not gonna lie to you, but what you did to that stray devil, that scared the hell out of me like I was watching a disturbing scene from a horror movie. But then I was concerned after I saw that side of you, for a moment I thought you weren't the person I've always known."
"So... You're not afraid of me?" Akeno asked, feeling the hope coming up.
Elliot shook his head, before he crossed his arms as his face grew reflective. "My pals told me about the enemies they've faced during my training. Some of them are despicable who looked down upon the people who are weak or even harmless. They are the people who I should be careful with because they are dangerous." He raised his head to look directly into Akeno's eyes. "However, that doesn't mean you could be one of them. I might not forget what happened back at the village, but you're still the Akeno I know, though I have to get used to see your... "inner sides"." He shook his head. "What I'm trying to say is that I'm now relief by telling me a little bit more about you, so you don't have to worry about anymore." He gave her a sincere smile.
Akeno went taken aback, she blinked a couple of times before realizing the anxiousness she had was completely gone already. "I... I don't know what to say." The raven haired devil muttered, not finding how she would respond to his acceptance. "Are you sure you're fine if I do that again?"
Elliot shrugged in response. "If your friends have seen it many times before, I guess it's just a matter of time for me." He looked at the cookies, rubbing his hands with his hungrily look. "Now that this worked out too well, I can finally eat! I'm starving!"
Akeno just remained dumbfounded. She never expected he's now calm and cheerful like always all of a sudden, with that short answer he gave it to her. Akeno couldn't think if she should feel happy or confused, but also nervous because actually she hid the truth about her parents, but also a secret about herself. She has her reasons why, more than the fact he doesn't have to know. Nonetheless, what matters is that Elliot have accepted what she really is. Akeno's satisfy with the result and she wanted to keep it that way.
Feeling a little tired, Akeno opened her mouth and let out a yawn, before she looked over the clock on the wall. She almost gasped when she saw it's almost 11 PM. "Oh my, look at this hour, we should go to sleep or else we're going to wake up late for school." She suggested.
Elliot raised his eyebrow before he looked at the clock, his eyes widened that he almost choked by the surprise, since he didn't chew a bite of the cookie. He quickly drank the glass of milk and slammed it on the table with a huff. Then, he answered. "Holy cow, I forgot tomorrow is Monday! You are totally right, we had a rough night and I'd really need to get some sleep."
"Mhmm. Me too." Akeno stood up from the couch. "I guess it's time I should go back home. I want to thank you for taking your time for this conversation. See you tomorrow, Elliot." She turned around and walked towards the main door.
"Wait!"
Akeno only took two steps before stopping her tracks and turned to Elliot in surprise. He walked up to her, meaning he has something to say it to her before leaving, but apparently he seems a little nervous when she noticed his face was a little flushed, just like she saw the first time in the park.
"Um, I was just thinking. Would you stay here for for another night?" He cleared his throat, trying to be so formal so she wouldn't get the wrong idea to his offer. "I mean, if you don't mind. After you told me about your parents, I just realized you've been alone for many years. Though you have friends, it must be pretty hard you don't have anyone in your house. Just thought you would need company..."
Akeno blinked in astonishment, completely petrified at his remark and she couldn't believe he got a good point, like he has read her memories. Despite Rias took care of her as a friend after the death of her mother, her emotional wound was still open that probably can't be cured by the time. Sometimes when she stays in her house, she felt so empty living without a relative. Rias and her servants visited her once in a while to make sure she was doing fine, Akeno was glad she has a few people who cares about her. But with Elliot, he apparently cares more deeply than the others.
"Why do you want me to stay with you?" Akeno asked with her gaze downwards, very unsure how to decide to his offer.
"I-I'm not forcing you!" Elliot reassured her with his hand held up. "It's just... I realized we have in common. We both had a very difficult childhood." His expression turned into sadness. "No matter how our lives have changed, we can't just let it go."
For the first time, Akeno thought he's got the point.
"I swore to myself that if I ever find a friend depressed and doesn't have a loved one, the best I can do to help is to be with them whenever they need me, including you. That's how he helped me when I was all alone and defenseless." A small smile formed up on his face when he remembered the kind of miracle he ever experienced. He couldn't stop being grateful to the man who become his savior and a very first friend and he wanted to find a way to repay him.
Elliot made a step forward to be more close to Akeno and, taking her by surprise, he touched her shoulders gently as the younger fighter looked in her eyes.
"I know this is starting to sound pretty weird and I shouldn't get involved in your personal life, but you are my friend; I want to help you, Akeno. That's one of the reasons I decided to become a better person, if you are in a very serious situation, I'm always here for you. Or if you need someone to talk about your problems, I'm always here to listen to you." He took a brief pause as he inhaled through his nose. "I swear I would do everything to keep that smile I usually see on your face. So I thought if you would like to..." He was interrupted when Akeno put her index finger on his lips.
"I would love to..." She answered softly with a smile. While it's fun to see him trying to not sound like a pervert, she heard enough to be convinced.
Elliot blinked a couple of times in surprise. "O-Oh! That's great!" He perked up, but now nervous when he knew she will probably do something to embarrass him like the last time. "W-Well, let's go upstairs, in my room. I can borrow you the same clothes."
"That means we're going to share your bed again?" Akeno asked. Her tone was soft, but the teasing was noticeable.
Elliot went taken aback as his face got flushed. He scratched his cheek with his finger. "I'm afraid so. It would be different if it wasn't the fact Joe forbid me to use his bed."
"Why?" Akeno slightly raised her eyebrow.
Elliot shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know, he just said he doesn't want me to the mattress. I mean, like he sees me like a child jumping it.
"But wait, I don't think he would know if you make the bed after using it." She said. It's not like she's suggesting so he won't sleep with her, but she was a little confused about it.
He crossed his arms. "Yeah, about that... I did the same thing three months ago when my bed needed some clean. I was home alone and I thought he would never find out. I was wrong. When Joe was back... Somehow he noticed my scent on his bed..." He took a pause with a drop of sweat rolling down his temple. "While it sounds creepy, he realized I used it and almost went mad at me for "disobeying". Ever since, I have sworn not to do that ever again."
Akeno was surprised after hearing the backstory, then she covered her mouth and giggled. "No mean to offend, but you have a quite strange friend."
Elliot chuckled. "That's what I said when I first met him, but I'm sure you'll like him once you get to know him." He turned around. "Come on, we should go to sleep right now or we'll wake up late for school."
As Akeno followed Elliot upstairs, a smile was plastered across her face for the fact she's going to sleep with him. Normally she would try to tease him since she finds it funny, but she thought it would be better to leave him alone for a while. Besides, she's was also pretty tired because of the stray devil hunt night and the tension she had moments ago. Nevertheless, Akeno will feel so peaceful when she'll snuggle with him.
She didn't receive any message from Kalawarner or someone else in her group, which she started to feel very suspicious about it. It's not too strange when a person's whereabouts would remain as unknown after last seen three days ago, but for Satsuki Kiryuin, she's a person who demands to know the progress from her associates. After she's been told about the rumor of a human with superpowers, she wouldn't be surprised if it's a Sacred Gear, but the fact she could defeat against a Devil, she just got attention on him. Now she's been waiting for more information about this individual and suddenly she hasn't heard anything from the group she sent.
What are they doing so far? Or better yet, what kind of trouble did they just get?
"My lady, what are you doing up so late?"
Her moment of watching the moon by the window in a hallway came to interrupt. She turned around and the moonlight shining through the large windows reveals a tall, thin and elderly man, around nearly seventy years old, with his grayish skin quite wrinkled due of his age, and dark hair tied in a short ponytail. He wears a black skinny jeans, white dress shirt with a purple tie and a purple vest. Plus a pair of white gloves and a monocle on his left eye. Clearly his attire appears to be an authentic butler.
"I thought you were asleep." Satsuki said.
"I don't feel sleepy when you currently need someone watching for intruders, since your personal bodyguards hasn't returned yet." The butler replied.
"You're my butler, Walter. It's not your obligation to do another's job by yourself." She responded with a hint of stern.
"Please, I can't go to the bed while you remain unprotected. I'm too old, I know, but that doesn't mean I'm tired to keep you safe and sound. That is my true responsibility as your butler." Walter implored with a frown.
Satsuki let out a sigh. "I still disagree, but I appreciate for your cooperation." The young long raven-haired woman answered as she turned back to the window and kept watching the full moon. "My team should've have completed that simple task and return by now, or at least giving me a report if something went wrong. That's what concerns me, I just learned that one particular place in Japan are controlled by the Devils. There's a huge possibility they are in there."
"Does that mean you're going to do something to bring them back?" Walter asked.
Satsuki remained silent for a moment, as she bowed her head in deep thought. She knew what the risk is if a Fallen Angel would trespass into an enemy territory and she wants to avoid that consequence. In fact, Satsuki is one of the important persons who agreed to sign the truce which ended the Great War, though she received threats from other clan leaders who refused the treaty. She would feel responsible if her loyal associates have fallen into the hands of the Devils or the Angels, she needs them back. However, there will be more risks if she makes a move to learn their whereabouts.
She shook her head in response. "No, I'm afraid I can't do it. I'm quite sure they're trying to remain incognito in the human world to not catch attention to the Angels and Devils. If I try to contact with them or send someone to look for them, I might alert to the both factions and the result will be a great disaster by my action."
"That's a very good point. But what if the Devils will find out your subordinates are accidentally infiltrated?" The butler said.
"They're likely disguising themselves as humans and avoiding being spotted." Satsuki replied. "However, there must be a reason why they're not coming back. If they're in trouble, then I just can't stand here while their lives are in danger!" She bit her lower lip in frustration.
"I understand how much you are concerned, but you have to trust Miss Kalawarner." Walter commented, earning a puzzled look from his master. "We both know she always finds a way to keep the others safe, even when they're on their own. Besides, if they were already captured, a messenger would let you know by now. I don't mean to be optimistic to make you feel better, but I know how she will not allow provoking a serious incident with the Devils." He walked up to her before he placed his hand on her shoulder. "They need you to focus your priority, avoiding an unnecessary conflict to maintain the neutrality. The least you can do is do what you always do, not just for their sake, but for all our kind."
Satsuki went speechless, but later her lips just formed a small smile across her face. "You're right, Walter. I did not expect you would say something like that to me, but thank you for your advice." Suddenly, she let out a slight snicker. "I have to admit, I find it amusing when a butler reassures a master."
"Somebody has to come to help you when you can't use your power to face your own problems." Walter replied. "My place is not as a counselor, and you don't have to need one, but I'm the one who you can always listen and trust."
"I understand." She sighed as she rubbed her eyes tiredly. "I've had enough stress for me tonight, I should go back to my room and sleep. Tomorrow I have an important meeting with the Governor General of Grigori to talk about our next moves, and I have to be very prepared for this."
"Would you like to serve you a glass of warm milk? It will help you have a better sleep." Walter asked with kindness.
Satsuki blinked before a dedicated smile graced her face. "Yeah, I would love to. Thanks."
The next day turned out completely normal for Elliot; despite he still remember the mission of slaying a Stray Devil, even seeing a mutilated corpse, he was appeased after spending the whole night with Akeno. They had a good breakfast in the morning and conversed during their way to Kuoh Academy. Though that doesn't mean he should forget about the victims by the hands of Dnias, even he commented to Akeno that he felt bad they couldn't avoid that senseless slaughter. Akeno replied she felt sorry for the innocent villagers too, and she admitted she was glad they had the order to get rid of Dnias because he didn't deserve to have a trial after what he had done. Elliot doesn't like taking a life from a person though, but he knew that Dnias was just a vicious monster with no soul.
Moving on, Elliot was already out of the building after the class was over and headed through the woods towards the Occult Research club. Moments ago, Koneko spoke to him that Rias requires his presence in there, a very important manner she said, much to his curiosity. He asked what sort of an important manner is, but Koneko said she doesn't know about it, so he had to find out for himself.
He reached the old schoolhouse as he went inside and used the stairs to the second floor. He walked across the hallway and then he stopped right in front of a door, which leads to Rias' office, before he knocked a few times.
"Come in."
Elliot entered and found her sitting on her desk, holding a piece of paper, probably a some sort of a report, or maybe a letter. However, he just noticed she's in a bad mood for some reason, while she was reading it. Elliot would ask what's bothering her, but he thought she wouldn't want to talk about it for this moment. And besides, the manner she wants to speak to must be very important than that.
"Hey, Rias. I was told you wanted to talk with me." He said as he closed the door.
"Of course. Please, have a seat." Rias replied before she kept the paper in the drawer desk.
Elliot sat on one of the couches, as he shifted in his seat to get comfortable. Then he looked around before he realized no one else was here. Even Akeno was not with her Miss President as usual.
"Where's the others?" He asked in wonder.
"Kiba and Koneko are now making contracts with some new clients after you delivered the flyers, and I asked Akeno to give them a hand. I hope you understand how this conversation must be between you and me." Rias responded plainly, but Elliot noticed the seriousness on her tone.
"Oh, okay. What's it about?" He inquired, a little intrigued what's the reason this must be private.
"I'm aware that you and Akeno have become friends before I resurrected you as my servant. However, I remember you were disturbed after you saw she was enjoying torturing the Stray Devil. Clearly, until now, you didn't know about her sadistic behavior, is that correct?" Elliot nodded in response. "Akeno told me that you forgave her and accepted what she truly is, even you invited her to stay in your home for another night."
"Y-Yeah, that's true." Elliot stated, a little embarrassed for that detail. "But it's not what you think! I did not do anything to her, I swear."
"I believe you, she already explained your true intentions." Rias said in understanding. "But that's not the point. I called you because I've been meaning to ask you. I want to know that everything you said to her, was it true." Her tone became bitterness.
Elliot was taken aback by her comment. "What? Of course I was being so honest with her! What makes you think I would lie to her just to make her feel better?" He demanded an explanation. It's not like he feels like he's being accused, but he wanted to know why Rias was doubting him.
Rias stood up and walked towards the window to see the sun falling down and remained standing with her hands interlocked behind her back.
"Elliot, there's one thing you should know why she hates his father. He promised to her and her mother to never leave them behind. When Akeno was a child, she has relied heavily on her father until the day her mother passed away and he didn't show up when she needed him. That event totally tore her apart that she felt betrayed because of his absence." She turned around to look at Elliot with a frown. "I realized she's trusting you and I can't help but think what would happen if you'd let her down. I'm not saying you will be just like her father, but what if in any unforeseeable event you will be forced to leave her alone?"
The young man wanted to say something, but no words came out from his mouth. He wasn't even sure if she has a point or not, but he pondered how he would be able to help her when she's in danger, whereas he's not on her side? That made him worry so much about it, as he twiddled his thumbs and his face grew in deep thought. One of his biggest fears is when someone, especially his friends, gets hurt physically and emotionally after vowing to help them. When one of his promises is broken, the guilty makes him weak and unable to keep fighting to protect them. He wouldn't let that happen, of course, but the doubtfulness left him unsure if he has the enough power to avoid it.
"What do you want me to do?" He asked in a low tone.
Rias just noticed the hopeless look on his face, before she walked up to him. When she was now standing in front of him, she leaned forward and lifted his head gently with her hand.
"Akeno is happier with you and I need you to keep it that way, but don't make promises you can't keep on your own. But also I want you to take a good care of her, no matter what happens. Can I count on you?"
Elliot was about to answer he will promise, but he thought that kind of answer won't convince her.
"I... I'll do what I can." He said uncertainly, but willing to try.
Rias gave him a smile to cheer him up. "I know you will do your best. If you have any trouble you can't solve, don't hesitate to ask me. I'll help you whatever you need." Her tone became softer as a feather pillow.
Elliot blinked in surprise, and suddenly he felt his uneasiness was fading just by looking at her smile. However, he realized she was staring directly into his eyes, which left him froze, as he stared back at her intently like she turned him into stone. Her flawless complexion and beauty was definitely the same as Akeno, but her unique natural glossy crimson hair and her shiny emerald-like orbs were enough to hypnotize Elliot. His face began to heat up like any other guy.
"T-Thank you." He muttered, as he tried to look away, but he glanced at her a few times.
Rias giggled by his shyness and she stepped back to retreat from his personal space. "Akeno told me you always get nervous when you're too close to her." She said in amusement.
Elliot turned back his attention to her, with an eyebrow raised. "Are you teasing me?" He asked with a hint of annoyance like he felt he's being treated like a child.
"Just for fun when you make that look on your face." Rias replied with humor as she made her way back to her desk.
"And I always thought Akeno was the only one who plays with me..." Elliot muttered, feeling the urge to leave before she would continue making fun of him.
"Let's change the subject, shall we? Do you have any plans tonight?" The crimson haired Devil said as she sat on her leather chair.
"Sincerely, I have no one. " He merely replied.
"Good, because there's one matter I need you to take care of." Rias said. "Before you came here, I received another contract request, but currently I'm very busy to answer it and I was hoping if you could handle that in my place."
"Sure, no problem. But what am I supposed to do?" He inquired.
"It's not that hard, all you have to do is fulfill your client's wish."
"Wait, what? I'm sorry, but I really don't understand the concept. Wouldn't you mind if you can explain it?" Elliot replied with his hand held up.
"You see, one of the main Devil's activities is to serve the humans. They use those flyers you delivered as the way to summon us when they make a wish. It's a ritual like the religious culture explains, but with different method without the need of virgin blood. What kind of wishes you ask? Making a dinner while they're gone, giving a massage after a tiring day at work; Even you make their dreams come true, like helping someone to confess a love interest. There's nothing to worry if you think somebody would ask you to do something unethical, we made a condition that we don't accept that kind of request."
"Do you get a reward by doing that stuff?" Elliot asked.
"Of course, it also depends if the customer is someone with great power and influence, you can get a high quality reward." Rias responded. "But here's an important fact, after you complete the contract, you collect points in order to raise your rank. However, that's considered as the lowest method to raise a rank because you have to complete a high number of contracts, and it would take your time to promote. There's another way to raise the rank, but I will tell you another day."
"Thanks for the info. I'm not sure if I'm prepared for this kind of job, but I think I can do it, Rias." Elliot willingly said and stood up from the couch.
Rias smiled in response. "Excellent, then I'll prepare the Magic Circle to take you to the client's location." She got off from her chair. But Elliot hastily approached to her with nervousness on his countenance.
"Wait! I think I should pass. Remember what happened to me last night, when we teleported to the village? It wouldn't be very nice if that happens to me again, especially in front of a client." He awkwardly replied, before the unpleasant memory made him shudder.
Rias recently remembered the event before she gasped in surprise. "Oh my, you're absolutely right! Then maybe I should give you the address instead." Rias grabbed a pen from the desk and she wrote on a notepad. She tore the page and handed it to Elliot. "The place is in the same neighborhood you went, and here's the number of the residence."
Elliot kept the address into his pocket. "Thanks. So I take my leave."
"One more thing before you go, Elliot." Rias responded. "What we talked about Akeno, I want to let you know that I'm glad you become her best friend. But she's also my best friend and I'm just worried if something bad happens to her emotions. I hope you understand how much I care for her."
Elliot blinked before he gave her a sympathetic look. "It's okay. I'm also glad I made a friend like her, and I would never forgive myself if I fail to protect her." Then he made his way to the exit and started his travel to the destination.
Elliot got the feeling of a déjá vu when he was walking across the same street at the same time at night. In fact, that made him remember about his encounter with a Fallen Angel, and he rather not to find another one of them who surely won't hesitate to kill him, just like when he bumped into the dark blue-haired woman. He wondered where she is, though; probably she and her friends are now out of Rias' territory, since he learned that when a Fallen Angel trespass into a Devil's territory, it could bring the risk of breaking the conditional neutrality. The only two things the Devils can deal with the intruders is driving them out with a warning or get rid of them if necessary.
He still felt uncomfortable just by thinking about the current situation between the three factions, but he tried to not get distracted and focus on the task Rias gave him.
It took only a couple of blocks before he reached to the exact address Rias wrote down. He walked towards the entrance and rang the doorbell. Elliot waited for a moment until someone opens the door, but there was no answer. He rang the bell again, but nothing happened, which he started to get confused. He would think somebody's not home at this moment, but a client shouldn't be absent after requesting a Devil's presence.
"Hello? Is anyone in the house?" Elliot asked as he knocked the door. Again, all he received was only silence. Could be deaf to not hear the bell? That would be impossible, he considered.
There was one thing he could find out. So Elliot grabbed the doorknob and twisted it, before the clicking noise made him stop. Why anyone would leave a door unlocked? It's not like the neighborhood is an unsafe place, but everyone knows the security measure. He would just leave the door closed to avoid getting charged for burglary, but then he thought this couldn't be just a coincidence the client forgot to lock the door. Suddenly, his instincts are telling him something was not right and he should investigate.
After realizing he had no time to just stand outside, Elliot made the decision to open the door. He saw the corridor lights are off, but he noticed a dim light coming from the other side of an archway. That must be the living room, but who knows if someone is in there.
"I'm getting in!" He spoke again, but turning up the volume of his tone, as he stepped into the house at a slow pace. But after he set one foot on the floor, Elliot began to have a bad feeling because he felt one presence nearby. If that person didn't answer his call, then clearly it's not a very good sign. He continued to advance, without taking off his sneakers; while he doesn't like violating the custom in Japan, he found this was not the right time to do it.
The suspense was killing him as he felt a sweat rolling down to his temple; A some sort of trap was one of the things he didn't want to expect because getting ambushed in a place where he hears nothing but his breath, it's like being part of a horror movie. Let's say his heart is not used to that kind of thing.
He pressed his back against the wall when he was already near the living room. He needed to take a moment to prepare before facing whoever he will find on the other side. He would take a peek, but for some reason he thought he shouldn't do that, maybe to let the suppose aggressor think the prey is not aware. Elliot took a deep breath before he turned around the corner, but at this moment, he felt he just stepped in something wet that he almost slipped.
"What the hell..." He lifted his foot and wiped the strange liquid off his shoe with his hand. When he took a closer look, his nostrils just sensed the strong smell, before he noticed the dark red color. Suddenly, his face twisted into shock. "Is that... Blood?" He looked to the ground before he saw there was a puddle spilled all over the floor, but then he noticed more blood trailing down from a wall. He raised his head and instantly felt the urge to throw up.
Before him was the naked body of a man hanged upside down against the wall, with his hands and feet drilled with nails. All over the torso was practically slit, with all his insides splattered out. Someone used the victim's blood to leave strange writings on the wall that Elliot couldn't tell what they say, though he realized they were written in Latin.
"Oh my God..." He mumbled as he couldn't stop watching at the disturbing scene. He never though he would have the second time in a row finding another person suffering the most brutal death. Suddenly, he went froze when he heard a chuckle, before he realized the presence he felt was not coming from the dead man, but the one behind him who's sitting on a couch.
Elliot turned around briskly and saw a man, around his age, with short white hair with bangs covering his forehead. He was dressed in clerical clothing that Elliot made a quick assumption that he's a priest, but not of the kindness when he stared at the devil fighter with peculiar red eyes.
"I'm sorry, it's just I never expected a Devil would take the Lord's name with such comment. That was hilarious, I have to say." The white haired priest said, before getting off the couch and stood in front of Elliot. "You took so longer to come here than I expected. And I thought the Devils were supposed to show up by Magic Circle" A twisted grin spread across his face. "Maybe you don't possess much power to use that. Oh, I think I'm gonna have some fun treating you like a defenseless puppy. But first, I believe I should introduce myself." He made a bow My name is Freed Sellzen. And yes, I'm an Exorcist, and my job is protecting the mankind from unholy beings like you."
Elliot suddenly remembered what Rias told him about the Exorcists, he couldn't help but why the God himself would bless someone with personality disorder like Freed?
He gritted his teeth in response. "Cut the introduction bullcrap! Now tell me what the fuck did you do to him?!" He yelled to the alleged culprit as he pointed to the hanged corpse.
"Oh, I just gave him divine punishment. I learned he committed a sin of making a deal with your kind and he was waiting for your arrival. So I took the chance to give this sinner faggot what he had it coming and wait until you come." Freed answered before he let out a vicious chuckle. "You should have been here when he begged for forgiveness from the Lord as he was bleeding to death. Can you believe that? He wanted to redeem himself after contacting with the enemy of the humankind."
"You're completely out of your mind!" Elliot spat in outrage, feeling the urge to wipe that hateful smirk off the priest's face with his knuckles. "What kind of priest like you would leave an innocent person hanged like an animal in a butcher shop?!"
"Innocent person, you said?" Freed sneered. "I think you mean your "new minion". This street is already filled with heretics and their lousy pamphlets. Once I'll finish with you, I'm gonna do the same with your slaves until I left this place purified from shitty Devils like you."
Elliot clenched his fist and trembled to contain the irrepressible wrath boiling up. However, he knew he shouldn't take out all his anger that will force him to attack blindly to an enemy since it's very reckless.
"Alright, I've had enough of this. I don't like to cause trouble with other factions or even with the Exorcists, but you're nothing but an insane murderer in my master's territory, and I'm not gonna let you go after what you've done." He cracked his knuckles and lowered himself into a fighting stance. "I'm gonna leave your face swollen like you were sting by hundreds of bees!"
Freed blinked in surprise by the Devil's willing to face him off, but then his face lit up with mischievous glee. "Oh, I was hoping to hear that from you. Very well, but I have to warn you that I'm not going to give you a quick death. I'll enjoy your suffering while I'm gonna tear you limb from limb with this!"His hand shoved into his jacket before pulling out what appears to be a grip of a sword. However, it doesn't have the blade.
Elliot went bewildered, and before he would taunt to the psycho Exorcist about what he's gonna do with that thing, but suddenly he went taken aback when a light beam came out from an opening of the sword's grip.
"That sword..." Elliot mumbled, and he couldn't help but made a step back.
Freed just let out a malicious chuckle after he saw Elliot's reaction, like he knew that would scare him a little. "You thought I would only splash you with Holy Water or shove your face with a cross? The light is the only material that deals a lot of damage only than those useless old fashioned tools."
Elliot clicked his tongue to his threat. "Thanks for giving me a warning, asshole. Now let's just get this over with!"
Freed was the first to make a move by lunging at Elliot with incredible speed that took him by surprise, before the Exorcist swung his light sword downside. Elliot was quick to sidestep and eluded another swing from the psychotic priest. Then, one of his fists engulfed with blue energy before he launched a counterattack.
"BURN KNUCKLE!"
The white haired Exorcist dodged, but was stunned when Elliot's fist pierced through the clay-wall. Freed took a moment to think it doesn't seem he's wielding a Sacred Gear to make that kind of attack. Elliot retrieved his fist from the wall before he remained still in defense position, as he glared at the priest with a frown.
"Heh, I gotta admit, you have just impressed me. But let's see what you can do when I use this!" Freed pulled out something else from his jacket and pointed at the Devil fighter. It was a gun with his finger about to pull the trigger.
Elliot's eyes widened as a deer facing the hunter with the barrel of his gun aimed, but he reacted and threw himself behind the couch before the Exorcist fired his gun. Elliot was leaning his back against the back of the couch, but it didn't prove to be a good cover though, as the bullets went through the cushion. One of them almost scratch his right cheek, and he briefly noticed that it was not a common bullet. It was some sort of a string of light beam like the light sword, he didn't know such thing could exist, much of a great use for the Exorcists.
"Shit!" Elliot cursed as he tries to come up a new plan to get close to him, without taking the light bullets.
Suddenly, he just realized the couch would be a perfect distraction against Freed. So he rose squatting while keeping his head low, and placed his hands under the couch. For a human it's difficult to carry a couch single-handedly, but with the super strength he gained after becoming supernatural being, Elliot was convinced this should be easy.
Taking a breath through his nose, Elliot flipped the couch and amazingly threw it towards his opponent. Freed was not amused like he was expecting more than someone throwing a furniture at him. He waved his sword diagonally, cutting the couch in half, but then, the Exorcist was shocked when he saw that Elliot was already running at him before realizing it was the strategy to avoid his bullets.
"Got you now!" Elliot said with a grin as he launched a spin kick.
His foot made contact, but Elliot's smile disappeared when he witnessed what he never imagined. Freed blocked the kick by just raising his clenched fist and apparently he didn't flinch, despite how much strength Elliot focused on his foot to knock out Freed.
"Psyche!" Freed flashed an twisted smile before he shot one light bullet to Elliot's left knee as his support.
Elliot let out a howl of pain and fell to the ground. "God-fucking-dammit! Damn you all to hell, you bastard!" Elliot let out his anger with curses, though it didn't help to remedy his wound as the bleeding made him helplessly vulnerable. Not to mention he felt the unbearable agony by the effect of the light element that he felt he couldn't move his leg anymore.
"My, are you gonna waste your breath with such language?" Freed continued of mocking Elliot just for entertainment. He went to kneel next to him. "What you did was pretty clever of you, I would be defeated if I wasn't trained for close combat Tell you what, to show you I'm at least generous, I'll let you your last words before I erase you from existence. Do you have anything to say as your last willing?"
Elliot didn't stop making a series of groans and whimpers as he glared at the Exorcist, he wanted to answer by spitting in his face and tell him to go to hell, but he thought that wouldn't be the best way to make him pissed. Even though this was not really the appropriate moment because he's going to die, and this time he will never be resurrected like the last time. It's sad indeed, and he wouldn't like to imagine Akeno crying again, but for the fact that she lost him forever. He felt very sorry how this turned out and wouldn't share his last words to her, but he would never let that despicable and soulless Exorcist enjoying his victory. The last thing he wants before saying goodbye to his friends, is to provoke the guy who thinks what he's doing is acceptable in the name of God.
"Actually, I have a question for you." He managed to speak up, which earned an eyebrow raised from the priest. "How the hell your hair got so white? Is that natural? Because I don't think such color would exist on hair painting products." Elliot began to chuckle when he saw Freed stopped smiling, and he decided to go more further until too far. "I think you should dye your hair with a normal color, or else anyone might freak out and mistake you as an old hag. To be honest, you look like one!" After that, he felt pacified and now prepared to die with a smile.
"It's good to have a last laugh before dying. But I know how I'm gonna remove that stupid look on your face!" Freed stood up before he kicked Elliot to the face. Afterwards, the insane priest placed his foot on Elliot's throat with his light sword aiming down to his face. "I'm going to stick my sword inside in your brain slowly, and you will suffer in agony while the light burns you like you never felt before."
Elliot grunted when Freed was crushing his throat, but that didn't stop him to keep pushing the priest over the limit. "Aw, did I make you feel bad? Don't worry, I know a perfect beauty salon where they could help you change your hair color without teasing." He burst out laughing, but then he coughed when Freed started to choke him with his foot.
"I'm going to enjoy this far more than I should." The Exorcist said bitterly, before driving his sword down slowly.
Elliot grabbed the foot and began to struggle in an attempt to get it off his neck, while moving his body around like a horse trying to get off the bronc rider in a rodeo event. Unfortunately, it turned out to be futile as the tip of the light sword was getting closer to Elliot's forehead. He shut his eyes to prepare for the worst pain, as he mentally said to his friends that he's sorry. But suddenly, a young girl just came into sight and saw in shock a priest about to kill a young man.
"Father, what are you doing?!"
Freed paused before his sword almost nearly touched the skin and turned his head to see who dared to interrupt his execution, after he removed his foot off Elliot's neck. Elliot gasped to gather some air while rubbing his throat, and he sat up to see who avoided his demise. His eyes widened in shock when he saw a familiar figure standing in front of him.
"Asia?" Elliot muttered the name of the nun he met not too long ago.
Asia did not notice Elliot was here because she was addressing to the Exorcist, but now terrified when she saw he was holding a sword and a gun that she never thought a priest would have those weapons.
"Asia! My child! You just came right in time for your next lesson!" Freed said in delight.
Before the nun could say anything, she noticed the pool of blood on the ground before she started to follow the trace to the same wall where Elliot saw the hanged corpse.
"Asia, don't look!" He tried to warn her or else the event will traumatize her for the rest of her life, but it was too late.
Her face twisted in horror when she saw the mutilated body with all the entrails out of the body. She let out a high-piercing shriek that would wake up the entire neighborhood. Elliot sorrowfully watched her reaction, feeling frustrated that if he wouldn't be wounded, he would try to close her eyes to not watch this.
"Pretty gruesome, isn't it?" Freed asked with a vicious smile as he walked up to her.
"F-Father Freed...?" Asia stuttered in disbelief as the horrified expression was still written on her face. "You did this...? Why?!"
"Well, it's very simple, my dear nun." Freed answered. "He made a deal with our enemy, and it's my job to perish those who makes rituals with the Devils. And speaking of which, I was about to finish him until you showed up."
Asia finally looked at the supposed enemy, before she gasped after immediately recognizing the young man. "E-Elliot? Is that you?" Asia said, completely thunderstruck that she doesn't have any idea what's going on.
Saying the young man's name caught Freed's attention. He turned to Elliot with the look of surprise. "Oh, so you both know each other? I can assume you never told her about what you really are, didn't you?." He finished with a smug grin.
"What?" Asia stammered, staring back at Elliot in perplexity.
"Don't listen to him, he's just insane!" Elliot tried in vain to convince her to ignore the priest.
"That's right, my child. Turns out he's a Devil! He came here in order to fulfill the bargain with that person I just killed. I brought you here because you need to learn we have an important mission our God sent us, and it's getting rid of all the scum who spread their influence in this town." He proclaimed with his arms extended like he's in the middle of an oration in a church.
Asia covered her mouth with her hand. "It... It can't be..." She said as she shook her head in denial.
"I'm sorry, Asia." Elliot hung his head low and answered in sadness. "I actually wanted to tell you the truth, but I was afraid you might hate me because we're both in different sides. I hope you can forgive me and... It was my pleasure to meet you."
"Aww, that's just sweet. But enough of this drama, time to finish what I started!" He walked back to Elliot as he raised his sword to get the job done. But unexpectedly, Asia stepped between him to block his path.
"Stop! Don't do this, Father!" She begged.
"Huh? What the fuck do you think you're doing?" Freed interrogated with a scold.
Elliot was completely surprised by the turn of events.
"Elliot didn't do nothing wrong to deserve to be perished! I find myself hard to believe he's a devil, but he proved to be a nice person! He helped me find the way to your church and we promised to have fun someday! That was the best thing that ever happened to me because I managed to make a friend I always wanted! If he's really a Devil, then he made me realize there would be more Devils like him! So I'm begging you to spare him and give him a chance!"
Her words left them speechless, but unlike Freed, Elliot was overjoyed like he never felt before. Even though they just met, Asia was absolutely right what she said about him. In fact, he realized that apparently she doesn't care about what he is, but about his personality. He was so glad someone wouldn't see him as an enemy on first sight without giving him an opportunity to show he's not a threat, especially if somebody's affiliated with the church like Asia.
However, she didn't have to expect the approval of the priest.
"You stupid bitch!" Freed raised his hand and slapped her backhanded.
"Kyaa!" Asia yelped in pain and fell to the floor, with a red cheek.
"Asia!" Elliot yelled as he tried to get up and help her, but he winced when he felt a sharp twinge from the wound on his knee that kept him immobile.
Freed grabbed Asia by her neck and shoved her against the wall. "How the fuck would you say something so stupid like that?" He snarled at her with harshly. "Oh, I get it, you were manipulated by that piece of shit to believe all the bullshit. Well, I think this calls for a punishment for your stubbornness!"
The unhinged priest took a step back, and before Asia was about to ask what he's going to do, he swung his sword downwards. Her outfit was cut in half, revealing her upper body and a white bra, but it was also cut in half and uncovered her bare breasts.
"W-What are you doing?!" Asia cried out as she tried to cover her exposed body with her arms. "You can't do this to a nun! God will be upset if you do that kind of action!"
"Bitch, you are the one who just upset the God for trying to defend a mortal enemy." Freed replied, staring threateningly at the defenseless nun, making her shiver in fear. "I'll make you remember not to interfere with my task!" He approached to her with a sickening grin.
He brought his hand to touch her, but the blond haired nun slapped away.
"G-Get away from me!" Asia tried to fight back, but she froze when Freed placed the barrel of his gun under her chin.
"Are you daring to betray the Lord? I don't show mercy to the traitors, but I don't have to kill you because my superiors said so. So if you don't want to get yourself hurt, then I suggest you to stand still."
Freed removed the gun from her chin and saw Asia remained quiet and let him continue against her will. And then, he groped one of her breasts abruptly that she gasped in pain, and without warning, he began to lick all around his neck. Asia trembled by the unpleasant feeling of her body being abused, asking herself why he would do such a blasphemous action that God would never allow this, and why Freed had become a priest despite his unacceptable behavior.
"Father... I beg you... Stop!" Asia began to cry in dismay.
Freed just ignore her pleading. "Wanna know what I just realize? Fucking an unspoiled nun by a priest in front of her friend is like one of those NTR stories in Japan I heard about. I think we already know what our roles. The only thing we need are some tears from the male friend here. Hey little Devil, how about-"
Before he could finish his sentence, when he turned his head to look at Elliot, a fist connected to the priest's side of his face, sending him flying away from the nun until he crashed through a wall and hit the ground in the backyard. Asia slid down and raised her head before she gasped when Elliot was standing before her with the look of absolute fury on his face. In that instant, she doesn't feel scared anymore, and she thought that God listened to her prayers and gave Elliot enough strength to ignore his wound and save her from a horrible destiny that could destroy her sanity.
The wound on his knee was supposed to leave him disable, but Freed took the wrong moment of attempting to rape the innocent girl in front of Elliot. The moment when the priest was molesting Asia, his mind was fueled by rage that he didn't care how painful it was when he struggled to get on his feet. Therefore, he's now satisfied after letting out all his anger with a powerful punch Freed deserved.
"Get your filthy hands off her, you sick son of a bitch!" He yelled out, before he winced again and fell to his uninjured knee.
"E-Elliot!" Asia approached to her savior in concern.
"Asia, I want you to get out of here right now and go away as far as you can! I'll take care of this bastard myself." The devil fighter said with dead serious in his tone.
"But you're injured! I can't leave you like this!" Asia argued.
Elliot turned back at her with a frown. "And I'm not going to leave you alone with that psycho who calls himself a priest!" He shook his head and grabbed her shoulders to make her look into his eyes, and spoke softly. "Just listen to me, I have a friend who can help you. Remember the street where we met?" The nun nodded with her head. "Good, you have to go in there and cross a couple of blocks, turn left around a corner and go further until you find a large building, next to a parking lot. Then go upstairs to the third floor and find a door with the number of '36'. Tell her I sent you and what happened."
Elliot took off his red jacket and wrapped it around Asia's shoulders. "Here, take this with you. I don't want to anyone see you naked. Now did I make myself clear what you have to do?"
Asia opened her mouth, but then she knew there was no point to argue. She still didn't want to leave him behind, though, he's risking his life to protect her, but with that wound he couldn't stand much longer against Freed. However, there was only one thing she can do before. Though she's afraid if God would disagree what she's going to do, but she can never forgive himself if she doesn't help him.
Asia raised her hands and positioned them in front of the bullet wound on his knee. Before Elliot was about to say something, he saw she's using her healing powers on him, much to his surprise. After that, he began to get up slowly, before realizing the pain was no more. He turned to the nun, still stunned what she just have done.
"Asia..." Elliot trailed off, not even sure how to remark.
She merely gave him a compassionate smile.
Suddenly, they heard a groan, they turned their gaze on the hole on the wall and saw the Exorcist was regaining his consciousness. Time was running out.
"You better get outta here, Asia! Quickly!"
Asia's smiled faded and grew unsure, as she gripped Elliot's jacket covering her naked chest with his warmth. But she decided not to waste the chance and made her way to the door, but as she was halfway through, she turned around.
"I hope we will meet again!" And then she left.
Elliot remained standing as he watched the Exorcist stumbling around, rubbing his face after receiving that punch, as he stepped in through the hole on the wall.
"Fuck... That really hurt like hell..." Freed spat some blood out of his mouth, before he glared at the Devil with hatred in his eyes. "Oh, now you're fucking dead. I think I'm already done playing games with you and I should just fucking kill you already."
"I'd like to see you try, because I'm gonna break all your fingers like a kit-kat bar so you won't touch her ever again!" Elliot retorted severely.
Before Freed could reply, he just noticed Asia was no longer here. "Hey, where the little brat just go?!" Then, he also realized Elliot was fully standing without wearing a grimace, before he finally noticed the wound on his knee was gone. "And what the fuck happened with your knee?! I shoot you with a fucking light bullet!"
Elliot flashed a grin. "Let's just say I've received a blessing from a servant of God."
Freed's eyes widened in realization. "Oh no... Don't tell me..." Elliot just kept grinning, until the priest knew his assumption was correct. "That fucking bitch!" He snarled.
"What's wrong, you're not looking the funny side anymore?" Elliot decided to taunt him as a taste of his own medicine. He couldn't help but think it's very fun to provoke a psychopath.
Maybe he shouldn't have done that.
Freed twitched his eye before he lunged forward and began to attack him with his sword, swinging violently like he was striving to swat a fly. Elliot dodged every attack, but he noted they were more aggressive and even faster than before that he almost felt the tip scratching his skin. Then, he saw he pointed his gun at point blank range, before he ducked and a bullet whizzed over his head.
Elliot took the chance to deliver an uppercut, but Freed stepped back before the fist almost hit to his chin. Elliot launched a spin kick after he missed his first blow, but the priest dodged again and then counterattacked with a sole kick to the stomach, sending the Devil crash against a wall that left large cracks. Elliot slid down to the floor, grunting and coughing after the kick deprived him of breath, when his sight recovered from the blurriness, Freed was holding his light sword high in the air.
"Now say goodbye to the earth!" He yelled before bringing the sword down.
Elliot knew it was too late to dodge, but unexpectedly, before he was about to accept his defeat, another sword came out of nowhere and blocked Freed's finishing blow. The devil was shocked as he took a look at the sword, before turning his head to see who was the one who saved him. A handsome blond haired young man smiled at Elliot when his partner just remembered his face.
"Yuuto?! Is that you?" Elliot exclaimed in surprise.
"We're here to help you, Elliot. Sorry we took so long." Kiba replied cheerfully and apologetically. Then, he pushed the Exorcist away from Elliot and stood in front of him. Freed just growled irritably for being interrupted once again.
"'We'?" Elliot repeated the detail, before his eyes widened when he spotted a large Gremory magic circle behind Kiba.
The magic circle glowed brightly before another person came out of the portal.
"What a mess..." The white haired petite girl said, with her usual nonchalant expression.
"Koneko!" Elliot began to feel joyful he's getting some backup.
However, more people were still coming. The beautiful raven haired young woman was the next to step into the scene.
"Elliot! I'm so glad you're okay!" Akeno said, full of relief.
"It's good to see you again, Akeno!" Elliot replied with a friendly smile.
"God, you're making me sick with your lame happy reunion." Freed interjected as he glared the group. "That's it, I'm totally sick of this shit, all of you just fucking die!" He emptied all the remaining light bullets of his gun.
Kiba stepped forward and used the power of the Knight piece to focus on the oncoming bullets, making the time running slowly. And amazingly, he managed to deflect every single bullet with his sword. Elliot was utterly surprised how Kiba was capable doing that, it happened so quickly that he wouldn't be able to block them with such speed.
"You know it's useless to fight against my whole peerage, Exorcist."
Rias Gremory was the last person to come out of the magic circle, before it disappeared. She addressed the intruder with a frown, as somehow she knew he was attacking Elliot from the beginning.
"Rias Gremory... What an unpleasant surprise to see the Princess of Destruction face to face." Freed said with his voice full of venom.
"It is also an unpleasant surprise to see you're into my territory. Now, would you be kind to explain what is your business here? Before I order my servants to get the information, forcibly." She threatened as her servants prepared to fight, as Elliot joined them after recovering himself.
Freed chuckled in response, making Rias raise her eyebrow. "Oh, I would like to have a little conversation with you. But I don't wanna risk my life to tell you about my mission. Besides, I have to play the cat and the mouse with a little girl your servant you made friends with."
Elliot flinched when his partners, even Akeno and Rias looked at him with puzzled looks, wondering who's the girl the priest was talking about. He would be in a big trouble if they'll find out it's the same nun he met her yesterday, but it's very likely they will realize that she could be involved with the Exorcist. Which leaves an important question, what is her role? What was her purpose to be in Kuoh city? But the better question is, why she was with a priest with mental disorder?
"Anyway, I don't have to waste my time with you, but before I go, let me tell you something, Elliot." Freed spoke to the young fighter. "You can't protect her for a long time while I have people who won't take too long to find her. Then, she will be back with me and this time you can't save her."
Elliot remained silent, but his clenched fists couldn't conceal the anger he was trying to hold back. Though he asked himself what kind of people Freed just mentioned. Could it be more priests? That would be impossible if they would work with that guy.
"Well, I'm off. Ta-ta!"
Freed raised his arm higher that could reach the ceiling. The Gremory peerage noticed he was holding a ping pong-sized balls, but before they would do something, he threw it to the ground. The balls exploded in a cloud of smoke, filling the entire living room and forcing everyone to cover their eyes. It took only five second before the smoke has already dissipated, before the Devils saw the priest disappeared.
"Man, I definitely hate when someone does that." Elliot stated with an annoyed look on his face.
"Should we pursue him, President?" Kiba asked to the crimson haired woman.
Her face grew thoughtful, before she shook her head as she crossed her arms under her breasts. "That won't be necessary, our priority was to rescue Elliot and nothing else." She walked up to her Pawn with a frown of concern. "I'm sorry for sending you here, if I should've known that Exorcist was waiting for you I could have warned you before. Are you hurt?"
Elliot was a little surprised by her question that Akeno would even say the same thing. He thought she would be jealous when Rias talked to him, but as he glanced to her, she was also concerned. He answered with a reassured smile. "I'm fine, Rias. I'm not gonna lie though, I couldn't stand a chance against that guy. Never thought he could be more dangerous than I imagined." He looked to the handsome swordsman. "Thank you for saving me by the way, Yuuto. One more second and I'd be totally done."
"Anytime, Elliot. If you need help, you can count on me." Kiba accepted his gratitude with a sincere smile.
"What happened to your pants?" Koneko spoke when her eyes caught a large hole in his knee.
Elliot blinked before he remembered it was where the light bullet hit him. He should've known someone would ask him about that because his clothes has no other cuts to assume he had a rough time eluding against a light sword. He can't answer he was shot because he has to explain how his wound was healed. He wished he could tell them it was Asia, but he was unsure if their reaction would be positive or would find hard to believe that a nun would heal a Devil.
"Wait, there's a hole in my pants?" He had to fake the surprise to simulate he didn't notice that. "Aw man, now I have to find a tailor shop to sew it, thanks for letting me know, Koneko." He said before he walked away hastily from her.
"That doesn't answer my question..." Koneko muttered with her narrowed eyes. She shook her head, thinking it couldn't be a big deal.
"We should return to our clubhouse immediately. Akeno?" Rias turned her head to her Queen to give an order.
"Of course." Akeno nodded as she prepared to summon the magic circle.
"Wait, what should we do with the dead body?" Elliot pointed to the hanged corpse, while trying to not focus the gory details that makes him sick.
"I'm afraid there's nothing we could do for our deceased client. I know you may disagree, but we have now a very serious matter to deal with right now." Rias replied.
"You mean the Exorcist?" Elliot inquired with a frown.
"Yes, but also I need to speak with you. I need you to tell me what happened here, and about the girl the priest claimed you know her." Her face suddenly turned very serious, as somehow she knew he's hiding something.
A drop of sweat rolled down his temple, meaning his situation just got worse now that he doesn't have any idea if he should lie or be honest with her. He could explain his reunion with her was just accidental, but what about the fact that he help her escape? He got the bad feeling that she wouldn't like to hear that. Another situation he has to deal with is to explain her friend about the unexpected visit she will receive, and it will be complicated since she's a person who demands answers and sometimes overreacts.
Elliot hesitantly nodded, before Akeno told the magic circle was ready as everyone gathered around. Elliot stood beside Akeno as he waited until the teleportation begins. But suddenly, he snapped out of his thoughts when he realized he forgot a small detail.
"Wait a minute, do you guys remember the last time I traveled with you guys with this?" He asked with a hint of panic.
Rias gasped, meaning she completely forgot what Elliot told her why he didn't want to use the magic circle. However, it was too late for Elliot to step away from the teleport when it glowed.
"Crap..." Elliot cursed before he decided to brace the side effects for the second time.
To Be Continued...
N/A: Finally! I can't believe this took me a whole month to finish this! Never thought this could take me a lot of work and now I'm so dead tired! I hope everything was worth it and you enjoyed this chapter.
Now as for the announcement, first of all, I have a question; anyone knows Raptorcloak? For those who doesn't, is a fanfiction writer who dedicates to write Naruto crossovers with... Um... Anime series highly suggestive for adults. It starts with a H, that's all I'm going to say.
The point is, I'm planning to give Elliot more adventures, and I mean making fanfics based off H series. The first H fanfic I'm planning will feature the characters from Kagaku na Yatsura. Yeah, I know it's not a H series, but it looks like it is.
I'm sure you ask "Why your original character?". Well, because I'm pretty tired to watch too many H crossovers featuring Naruto, don't get me wrong, Naruto is not a bad choice as the protagonist, but... I want to make my character pretty popular because I'm happy with my creation and I want to give him more spotlight.
So what do you guys think? Please, leave me your comments.
Well, it's time to have a rest and think what should I do next. One more thing before I go, I want to thank all of you who's been supporting my fanfic, even though I took forever to update the new chapter, that means a lot of me.
Have a nice day everyone.
