A Zack Moment

A/N: Dedicated to one of my dear friends and fave reviewers: MakoAnima who asked for a fic where Zack finally gets to be somewhat intelligent and get back at people…so here it is, hope you like it
Warnings: Intelligent Zack run for the hills.
"You know, I'm smarter than you think." Zack announces, sitting himself right smack in the middle of Sephiroth's desk. The General looks up from glaring at the inane stupidity that was paperwork and raises an eyebrow.
"I highly doubt that…" Sephiroth says, chucking an entire month's worth of paperwork into the wastebasket and setting it ablaze with a snap of his fingers. "And if anyone asks, you did that."
"Hey, I only set my own paperwork on fire thank you very much. Who do you think I am, Reno?" Zack says, crossing his arms and sticking his tongue out as his superior. Sephiroth looks more than slightly amused. "And I am very intelligent thank you very much."
"I never said you weren't, I only said that your actions weren't that intelligent." Sephiroth says, running his forehead to ward off yet another Zack induced headache.
"They may not be intelligent, but they sure are fun." Zack says, thinking back on some of the more destructively idiotic things he's done. Sephiroth sighs and rolls his eyes. "Besides they served their purpose, now no matter what I do they'll just pass it off as me being stupid."
"Now I see they ingeniousness of your plan, act stupid while causing as much chaos and mass destruction as possible. Now nobody thinks you do it intentionally and wouldn't even dream of punishing you for it…" Sephiroth says with an evil grin that had Zack not been gloating would've scared the hell out of him. But alas, Zack was feeling very proud of himself and did not miss the warning signs. "But you forgot one thing…"
"What's that?" Zack asks, wondering if he had indeed forgot to let Sephiroth in on a single detail of his plan. He turns to look the General in the eye and feels a shiver go down his spine.
"As your superior I was already quite aware of your intelligence and insanity, I was quite willing to let you proceed as it amused me. But now that you have brought it to my attention while the security camera was on I'm afraid I shall have to punish you." Sephiroth says, pointing to the offending camera which continued to stare down at them as Zack did his best impression of a fish. "Enjoy your nine week stay at Icicle Inn."
And with that Sephiroth strides out, coat billowing behind him leaving Zack, a flaming wastebasket and the security camera alone in his office. Which in normal circumstances was not a wise idea, but who's to say in this one.
To put things short, Sephiroth's office was burned down, the contents of the security camera were never discovered, Rufus sent Zack to Costa De Sol for nine weeks to keep him out of trouble and Sephiroth was a very happy psychopath because all of his paperwork was ashes. The world was as it should be.
