Chapter 8: Sports Festival Part 2
Uraraka: WHAT?! You didn't make it to first place?!
Midoriya chuckled nervously while rubbing the back of his head.
Midoriya: Yeah, I was surprised too. I don't think anyone noticed that Tendou finished first thanks to his quirk.
Iida: Well, that means only one thing, and that is Tendou being public enemy number 1 for now...
As they were talking, they then noticed Yusuke coming out of the tunnel with Ryotaro. The both spotted the trio and made their way towards them finally catching their breaths.
Midoriya: You two finally made it!
Uraraka: I'm surprised that you two made it this late.
After Yusuke caught his breath, he gave them a bright smile while giving a thumbs up.
Yusuke: Sorry that we're late, we would've made it sooner but I accidentally dropped my staff during the tight rope stage.
After Yusuke chuckled nonchalantly, Ryotaro was the opposite making him shiver from fear.
Ryotaro: T-That stage was almost our gravesite; I really hope that the next event won't kill us...
Later after the remaining students made it through the finish line, everyone began to gather around Midnight to see the results.
Midnight: Alright everyone! Gather around and check out what place you have landed!
The screen than switched to the results showing the place everyone made.

Midnight: Congratulations to the top 62 students for making it to the next round! And I'm sorry for the students that didn't make it, just try your best next time! And now for the post-preliminaries, the final selection! From here on out, even the press corps will teem in a white heat of excitement, so go all out! Now for the second event! And what is it you may ask? Well, it is...
The screen than landed on "Human Cavalry Battle".
Midnight: The Human Cavalry Battle! This is how it would work; you can have 2 to 6 members in your group and form a horseback configuration. It's basically the same rules as a normal Human Cavalry Battle, swipe enemy riders' headband and guard your own. But, there's a twist this time. Everyone will receive points based on their performance in the last trial! If you were placed in the 62nd spot, then you would be worth 5 points. Someone in 61st points would be worth 10 points, someone in 60th place would be worth 15 points, and so on. But here is another twist, the student who made it in first place would be worth one million points! So, if I were you than I target the student who made it in first place!
After hearing what Midnight said, Midoriya was drenched in his own sweat and began thinking to himself.
"A-A million points?! Even though I shouldn't feel this way, but it feels like I dodged a bullet..."
Midnight: The time limit is 15 minutes. The point value of each group's headband is worth the total points accumulation of the warhorse's members. And the one who wears the headband is the warhorse's rider! Think of him or her as a standard barrier. Until the time runs out, all you'll be doing is fighting and stealing each other's headband! You may not equip your headband anywhere except for the neck or higher! As more and more headbands are taken, maintaining control of the situation will become more and more demanding! And the most important aspect of the human cavalry is that even if you do lose your headband or your horse crumbles, then you are still not out of the game! Quirks are obviously allowed, but if you attack for malicious purpose than you are timed out for the rest of the game! You all have 15 minutes so you have enough time to gather your group! So, don't waste time and start negotiating your team!
A few minutes has passed and everyone is forming their groups, all except for Tendou. To kill off time, he's been stretching his body to prepare himself for the trial. But he quickly lost his train of thought when he felt a hand grab his shoulder; he then turned to see a kid with a pompadour haircut and thick upper arms with two different shapes on each arm.
"This must be another wannabe delinquent trying to act tough. Seems like they never learn."
Before Tendou could speak up, he was caught by surprised when the "delinquent" put out his hand for a handshake. Tendou was hesitant for a second until he finally shook the "delinquent's" hand than turned into an unfamiliar handshake like they're best friends.
?: My name is Kisaragi Gentaro! And that I like to show proof of friendship! My goal is to be friend anyone I meet! Now, with that out of the way. What's your name?
Tendou was speechless for a moment until he turned his back away from Gentaro.
Tendou: Whatever you're trying to pull, I'm not interested.
Gentaro: Oh come on now, I just want to become your new friend! Also, I noticed that you were alone so I wanted to join your team!
Tendou: I already told you that I'm not interested. And I could do this on my own, you're not the only weirdo that ask to join forces with me.
Gentaro was surprised from Tendou's attitude, but he continued to keep his hopes up.
Gentaro: Jeez, you're kind of cold man. But it doesn't matter because I'm not taking the word "no" for an answer! I am your friend whether you like it or not and I will join you!
Tendou started to become annoyed but continued to keep his cool.
Tendou: I hate people who are stubborn, Grandmother once said this, "The wise man can change his mind; the stubborn one, never."
Gentaro: And your grandmother was definitely right! Once I say I will do something than I'll do it without changing my mind! And plus, it's for your sake. Ms. Midnight said that the groups must be 2 to 6, so that means if you're alone than you'll probably be disqualified for not having at least one person in your group. And since your points are a million, no one else doesn't seem like they want to join you.
Tendou stopped to think about it for a moment than sighed out of annoyance.
Tendou: Fine, you can join me. But just don't spew out that "friendship" crap.
Gentaro: YOU GOT IT BUDDY!
From Gentaro's shouting, Tendou thought to himself while dropping a sweat.
"I already regret my decision..."
Meanwhile Ryotaro is pacing back and forth while sweating heavily drenching his uniform.
Ryotaro: Where is Yusuke? We could start any moment now and I'm all alone! Would they disqualify me?! Oh no, I can't have that at all! I made it this far and I can't give up now!
Suddenly, the imagins popped up in their sand forms startling Ryotaro.
Momotaros: Oh calm down, it's just us.
Ryotaro: Oh, hey guys. S-Sorry about that, I'm just a little stressed right now. What are you doing here?
Kintaros: What other reason? To help you out!
The four imagins than turned into their physical forms.
Urataros: They said that quirks are allowed, didn't they? And we're technically considered as your quirk.
Ryutaros: YEAH! So, we're going to help you kick everyone's butt and win 1st place!
Tears began to swell up on Ryotaro's eyes until he quickly wiped it away.
Ryotaro: T-Thank you all! I don't know how to repay you!
Ryutaros: A happy meal sounds good!
Momotaros than slapped Ryutaros in the back of the head.
Momotaros: You don't have to worry about that kid, we're just happy to help you.
Ryutaros: DON'T HIT ME YOU JERK!
Momotaros: WELL DON'T ASK FOR A DAMN HAPPY MEAL IN A TIME LIKE THIS YOU BRAT!
Ryotaro: Okay guys, there's no need to argue. Let's get ready to win!
The imagins cheered from Ryotaro's confidents. Later the four imagins grabbed hold onto each other's shoulders like they were forming as a train with Ryotaro on top of Momotaro's shoulders.
Momotaros: LET'S CRUSH THIS DEN-O SQUAD!
Everyone than cheered once more but Ryotaro was confused about the name.
Ryotaro: "Den-O squad"?
Momotaros: Hey it sounds awesome, NOW LET'S GO!
Everyone finally formed their groups and prepared themselves to start. Gentaro tightened the headband around his forehead while Tendou was keeping his balance from carrying Gentaro on his shoulders.
Gentaro: Are you sure that this is a good idea? Shouldn't I carry you since you won first place?
Tendou: No, this will work. My quirk allows me to move faster than light, so it will give everyone a hard time to catch us.
Gentaro: Oh, that's good...Wait! How fast is your quirk again?!
Tendou: Just hold on tight and try not to fall...or puke.
Present Mic: Okay contestants! Are you ready?! The Human Cavalry Battle will start in 3...2...1...START!
Everyone didn't waste any time and quickly ran towards Tendou and Gentaro.
Gentaro: Woah! Woah! Woah! T-That's a lot of people man!
As everyone was making their way, Tendou closed his eyes and whispered under his breath.
Tendou: Clock up...
After Tendou opened his eyes again, everyone was moving as slow as a snail. He began to calmly jog out of everyone's way to a safe distance and canceled his quirk. Suddenly, everyone was shocked to see Tendou and Gentaro escaped in a blink of an eye. Tendou than looked back to everyone's confusion while he gave them a cocky smirk.
Tendou: You okay up there?
Tendou than looked up to see Gentaro struggle to cover his mouth with one hand and gave him a thumbs up with his other. Tendou sighed but quickly moved out of the way when Iida and his group ran past them but failed to grab the headband. Tendou than focused towards Todoroki's eyes and began thinking to himself.
"He still has those eyes; I can tell that he's going to be a pain in the ass on this trial as well..."
While they were distracted, a hand came out of a red portal to grab the headband from Gentaro. Tendou quickly noticed and moved out of the way before it could catch it.
Tendou: What the hell was that?!
Gentaro: That must've been Haruto's quirk! He has some magic quirk which he could create a portal!
Suddenly they heard a voice behind them.
?: I'm glad that you pay attention to my quirk Gentaro, that definitely gives me hope.
The both boys turned to see Haruto and his group while he gave them a natural smile.
Haruto: Your new partner is unique, I should say. But, let's see if you both can escape this.
Haruto than created another red portal creating clones of new portals to surround Tendou and Gentaro. Haruto than stuck his hand through the portal making a bunch of hands reach out towards the headband.
Soma Haruto
Quirk: Magic
Haruto is able to cast different elemental magic and basic spells with the help of the rings he wears.
"This isn't good, we're completely surrounded!"
Gentaro: Don't worry, I got this!
Gentaro quickly grabbed two small switches from his pockets to activated them turning his left arm into a satellite and his right leg into a blue box with miniature missiles inside.

Quirk: Module Basement
Gentaro is able to create objects with the help with different unique switches. Depending on which switch he uses, it's made by the shapes from his limbs. The circle in his right arm creates close combat weapons, the cross on his right leg creates mid-range weapons, the triangle on his left leg creates certain tools, and the square in his left arm creates battle support items.
As the hands got closer, Gentaro began to use the satellite to shoot and aim the missiles at each hand to buy them more time.
"This isn't good, we need to get out of here quick."
Before Tendou could escape, he felt something sticky on his right foot preventing him to leave. He then heard a very familiar voice coming his way.
Mineta: Don't think that you can run from us this time!
Tendou turned to see Shoji running towards them with Mineta, Tsuyu and Tsukasa on his back.
Todoroki: Everyone is becoming such an eyesore. Iida, start your engine and wait till I say go.
Iida: Got it!
Iida did just that while Todoroki continued his demands.
Todoroki: Shouichi, keep monitoring where Tendou will go. Yaoyorozu, start creating that blanket. And Kaminari, get your volts ready.
The three nodded and began doing what they were told while Iida stood patiently waiting for his command. As Shoji and his group got closer, Tendou quickly activated his quirk to see an opening spot for them to escape. While Tendou was scanning around, he noticed Todoroki and his group running towards him covered in a rubber blanket and a volt of electricity making its way out.
"Damn it, so this is what he's planning! There has to be an opening somewhere..."
Tendou continued until he had an idea, he quickly took off his shoes and ran towards Shoji to jump on his head to boost himself up. After Tendou and Gentaro escaped, everyone except for Todoroki's team met nothing but volts of electricity shocking everyone.
Shouichi: They escaped to the left side and used someone or something to jump away from the group.
Todoroki: Great, let's get ahead of them before they could land.
After Tendou canceled his quirk again, he sighed from relief and began thinking to himself.
"This is definitely tricky; I shouldn't have underestimate everyone, their quirks are nothing to take lightly."
While Tendou was in a train of thought, he lost it when Gentaro spoke up.
Gentaro: Woah! Watch out!
Suddenly, Bakugou used his quirk to blast himself to reach Tendou and Gentaro's level.
Bakugou: I GOT YOU NOW YOU SPEEDY BASTARD!
As Bakugou was igniting his palms, Tendou quickly turned to kick Bakugou away from them while Gentaro grabbed a switch to create a parachute on his left arm to safely land. While Bakugou was falling, Sero caught him with his tape to help him land safely.
Kirishima: You alright Bakugou?
Bakugou: Don't worry about me shitty hair! That bastard thinks he's so slick! Oi wallflower! Quickly use your quirk to slow that speedy bastard down!
After Bakugou gave Wataru a command, Wataru began stuttering from fear.
Bakugou: NOW!
Wataru: YES! K-KIVAT!
Kivat: Yeah, yeah, I know. That spiked hair jerk...
Bakugou: WHAT WAS THAT?!
Kivat: N-Nothing sir! On my way!
Kivat quickly dug inside Wataru's pocket to grab a green fuestle to blow it.
Basshaa! Show your true form!
After Kivat blew the fuestle, Wataru's appearance and demeanor started to change. Gills began to appear with green scales around his body. His fingers fused together making it webbed with his spine sticking out to look like a fin on his back.
Kivat: Okay Wataru, try your best to snipe Tendou by aiming for his legs, got it?
Wataru: Loud and clear! I won't let you guys down!
Meanwhile both boys finally landed making Gentaro sigh from relief.
Gentaro: That was a close one, I didn't know that it would be this tough to be worth a million points buddy.
Tendou: Don't get too comfortable, we-
Before Tendou could finish his sentence, he quickly dodged an attack which looks like water; he turned to see Bakugou and his team running towards them.
Wataru: Hey, hey! Hold still so I can get you!
Mina than created a liquid out of her palms to throw towards Tendou while Wataru shot another water bullet from his mouth. Tendou tried escaping, but Mina's liquid blocked his way. He then saw the liquid slowly dissolving the ground catching him by surprise.
"Wait, is this acid?"
Ashido Mina
Quirk: Acid
Mina is able to create acid from any part of her body.
Tendou quickly dodged Wataru's attack once again making him activate his quirk to escape them before they could continue.
Sero: Damn, where did they go?
Mina: Aw man, and I thought we had em for a minute...
Bakugou: That speedy bastard! WE'RE NOT LETTING HIM ESCAPE! HURRY UP AND FIND HIM!
After canceling his quirk once more in a safe distance, he began breathing heavy from losing too much energy.
Gentaro: Are you good down their buddy?
Tendou: Don't worry about me, do you have anything to help us get somewhere safe?
Gentaro: Yeah, I believe that I do, it's just somewhere in one of these pockets.
While Gentaro was searching, he then heard someone ask him a question.
?: You have something in your pocket? Isn't that illegal for this trial?
Gentaro: Oh, no worries. It's only for my qui-
Tendou than turned to see who asked the question to see Shinso with a smirk on his face.
"This guy, I have a very bad feeling about him. And his squad, why is Ojiro and Yusuke with this guy? There's something about their eyes that doesn't look right."
Tendou: Hey, did you find that sw-
After Tendou looked up, he saw that Gentaro has the same look as Yusuke and Ojiro.
"What? It must've been this guy's doing. Are they hypnotized? Just by him asking them questions?"
Shinso: You know, your quirk is pretty interesting. What kind of quirk is it?
Hitoshi Shinso
Quirk: Brainwashing
Shinso is able to brainwash anyone if they answer any question he asks. If they answer, then they have to obey until he cancels it.
"This guy is bad news; I need to get out of here."
Before Tendou could escape, he heard more people from the opposite direction.
Momotaros: We finally found you, you bastard!
As Ryotaro and his group is running towards Tendou, more groups began to surround them. Tendou scanned to see an opening until he saw Shoji and his group again. Tendou activated his quirk once again and ran towards Shoji to jump on his head; but after his quirk was canceled shortly, Tsukasa activated his quirk in front of him teleporting the both of them back to the same spot as before.
Tsukasa: Don't think that trick will work on us twice!
As everyone was close, Tendou began to think to himself.
"So, this is where I finally lose huh? I never thought that this would be the day that it would happen. I hate to say it, but I guess Arata was right."
Flashback begins inside a middle school hallway with some students confronting Tendou with intention of harming him.
Kid #1: You're going to regret looking down on us kid!
Tendou: Well, if it helps, I didn't attend to look down on you. All I'm saying is the truth, you all are just too slow and weak to become the number 1 hero. So, you better off just becoming villains and watch me become the number 1 fastest hero...
From what Tendou said, the kids began to attack Tendou. But with Tendou's quirk, he calmly walked past them while all four of them fell one by one. While Tendou continued walking, he stopped his track when he heard a pen click. He then sighed and turned to see another student writing something in a small notepad.
Tendou: Seriously Arata? Is that really necessary?
Arata: I'm sorry Tendou, but you know that you can't use your quirk in school grounds.
Tendou: Did you not see them try to attack me first? Using my quirk was necessary for my safety.
Arata: They tried to attack you first because you started it, I told you too many times to stop being egotistic and narcissistic or else stuff like this would happen.
Tendou: I'm not being egotistic nor narcissistic, all I'm saying is the truth. Grandmother once said this, "Truth will always be the truth, regardless of lack of understanding, disbelief, or ignorance."
Arata than sighed out of annoyance and ripped the paper off the notepad to crumple it.
Arata: You're lucky that you are my friend. I'll leave you with another warning this time.
Tendou continued to walk away leaving Arata behind.
Tendou: We're not friends, you already know how I feel about that word.
Arata quickly became annoyed and started following Tendou.
Arata: Jeez, not even a "thank you"?!
Tendou: I never asked you to let me off with a warning, so there's no need to show any gratitude.
Arata stopped and finally lost his patience, he then slammed his notepad and pen to the ground making Tendou stop to turn around.
Arata: You know what?! Since you like the truth so much! Here's my truth! You can think that you're better than everyone else, but one day you will greatly underestimate someone and you will finally have the taste of defeat! That will definitely show you that you're no better than anyone else! We all win some, we all lose some! All you have is luck! And one day your luck will run out and you'll know what it means when that happens!
Both of them were silent for a moment until Tendou broke it while walking away.
Tendou: There's no such thing as luck. It's only pure strength and speed that'll get you far in life...
"What I hate more than anything is being proven wrong, but there's nothing for me to do to escape this..."
As everyone comes closer, Gentaro suddenly shout something while revealing a switch from his pocket.
Gentaro: Uchuu! KITAAAAAAA!
Gentaro than clicked the switch to create an orange rocket on his right arm.
Gentaro: Hold on tight best buddy! Try not fall! Or puke!
Tendou did just that making them fly up to get to a safe distance away from everyone else. As the crowd begins to count down from 10, Tsukasa's aurora curtains appeared in front of them once again.
Tendou: Don't go through that! It'll lead us back to them!
Gentaro: C-Crap!
Before Gentaro entered the curtains, the time ran out just in time making the both boys collapse to the ground finally catching a break.
Present Mic: And that's the time folks! Everyone did an amazing job! But as always, we will see who made it and who failed!

Present Mic: Congratulations to the winners! Them and their team members will make it to the final round! They definitely deserve a break for such a great job all of them have done! Until then, stay tune!
