Chapter 10: A Friend's Promise
As (K)Ryotaro charged towards Shouichi, both clashed by grabbing each other's hands and began to struggle to move each other. As they both continued, (K)Ryotaro thought to himself.
(K)Ryotaro: "I-It's like trying to push a brick wall!"
Suddenly, the yellow logo appeared under Shouichi's feet helping him slowly push (K)Ryotaro backwards.
(K)Ryotaro: "But this is nothing! Because my strength has never failed me!"
(K)Ryotaro than let go of Shouichi's hands to grab his waist to throw him across the arena. Before Shouichi could land past the outside line, a blue logo appeared under him making a powerful gust to save him from passing the line.
(K)Ryotaro: You are strong I have to admit, but let's see who's the strongest!
Shouichi began to take his stance while (K)Ryotaro charge towards him once more. A red logo than appeared under Shouichi's feet making him kick flames as (K)Ryotaro struck with his fist. As both made contact, (K)Ryotaro quickly pulled back his fist from being burnt.
Ryotaro: "He can control fire too?!"
Shouichi continued to attack with the flames making (K)Ryotaro block with his arms. As (K)Ryotaro backed up, they noticed the burned scars on their arms and burn marks on their uniform.
Ryotaro: "You did great Kintaros, go ahead and rest while someone else takes place."
(K)Ryotaro: No, I got this! These scars are nothing but scratches!
Before (K)Ryotaro continued, he was forcibly switched with Ryutaros making Ryotaro's eyes switch to the color purple and changing his hair back to his original hair length but curly with a purple streak. (R)Ryotaro than took off the ribbon from his hair and replaced it with a light brown cap with purple spray painted. Shouichi stood in position to prepare for (R)Ryotaro's attack, but instead he pointed at Shouichi and began to break dance while hip hop music played out of nowhere. The crowd was speechless from what they're witnessing while the students were in disbelief.
Jiro: You have got to be kidding me...
Tsuyu: This energy came out of nowhere, don't you think kero?
Mina: I don't know, but he does have some awesome moves!
As (R)Ryotaro continued to dance, Midnight quickly spoke up out of annoyance.
Midnight: Ryotaro! You do know that this is a fighting tournament, right? Not a dancing competition!
(R)Ryotaro ignored Midnight and continued until the music stopped making him stop as well in a hand stand while pointing at Shouichi once more.
(R)Ryotaro: Mind if I defeat you?
Shouichi said nothing while (R)Ryotaro jumped back to his feet and spun once.
(R)Ryotaro: I can't hear your answer!
(R)Ryotaro began to run towards Shouichi making him ignite his fist to prepare for a punch.
Ryotaro: "Watch out Ryu! He can create fire with his kicks and punches!"
From the warning, (R)Ryotaro quickly dodged Shouichi's punch and quickly did a hand stand to do a spinning kick to hit Shouichi in the head making him fall. As Shouichi was getting up, he heard (R)Ryotaro laughing at him while pointing.
(R)Ryotaro: How did Kuma-chan struggle with you?! You're not even that strong!
Shouichi than took his stance while a blue logo appeared once again to make his body lighter while a gust of wind helped him run faster towards (R)Ryotaro to throw a punch. (R)Ryotaro quickly dodged and tried to kick Shouichi in the back, but the yellow logo appeared making his body harder stubbing (R)Ryotaro's toe after making contact. (R)Ryotaro quickly retreated while holding their feet in pain.
(R)Ryotaro: OWIE! THAT HURT!
As (R)Ryotaro was about to cry from the pain, Shouichi quickly switched the logo's color back to blue to create a large gust of wind to push (R)Ryotaro back until he finally reach passed the line.
Midnight: Tsugami Shouichi has passed this round! He is able to continue in round 2!
As Midnight announced the winner, (R)Ryotaro accidentally tripped backwards while trying to process what happened.
(R)Ryotaro: Wha- I lost?! THAT'S NOT FAIR~! WAAAAAHHHH~! ONEE-SAN~!
As (R)Ryotaro continued his temper tantrum, Ryutaros exited Ryotaro's body to make it back to the waiting room with the other imagins. After he made it back, both Urataros and Momotaros was laughing while Ryutaros continued to cry.
Momotaros: Look what happened brat! You talked shit just from one kick and lost! That's so humiliating!
Ryutaros: SHUT UP!
Ryutaros than started to hit Momotaros in the head while repeating "dummy" from each hit. Meanwhile Shouichi began to smile again and walked up to Ryotaro to help him up; after Ryotaro got up, he began to limp while nervously laughing.
Ryotaro: T-Thanks, I'm sorry for the insult; that was one of my imagins saying that.
Shouichi: It's alright Koungouji-san, you guys were amazing especially putting up a performance for the audience.
Ryotaro than rubbed the back of his neck after dropping a sweat.
Ryotaro: Thanks...they always want to make a flashy appearance every time they possess me...
From the comment, Shouichi began to laugh catching Ryotaro off guard.
Shouichi: That's funny Koungouji-san! Hey, do you need help seeing the nurse?
Ryotaro thought about it for a second before giving his answer.
Ryotaro: Y-Yeah, sure.
As both boys were heading to see Recovery Girl, Shouichi thought to himself.
"I did it Ryo-san, I won this round and I'll keep winning to achieve your dream."
After a quick win from Shiozaki in the 5th match, Hibiki made his way to the ring with confidence in his face.
Present Mic: We have yet another 1-A student going head-to-head with a 1-B student! One side we have a student with only one name! Hibiki! And on the other side we have a student that desperately needs a haircut, Hino Eiji!
After the announcement, Hibiki than gave Eiji his special salute.
Hibiki: Yo. What I've seen, your quirk is pretty interesting. Let's hope that it's strong so the both of us could have fun!
Eiji: Thank you, I'll try my best to not disappoint you with my quirk.
Hibiki grabbed his ongekibou from his back pockets than the both stood in their fighting position until Midnight yelled "START!" Hibiki quickly made his way towards Eiji to swing his ongekibou but missed from Eiji ducking. Eiji than transformed his arms to a big furry arm similar to a gorilla to punch Hibiki in the chest. From the punch, Hibiki flew across the arena to land near the edge of the ring. After Hibiki got up, he began to breath heavy making him hold his chest.
"The hell was that? That strength was incredible!"
Hibiki than saw Eiji change his arms back to transform his legs to a feline leg with spots. Eiji than ran towards Hibiki with high speed and transformed his arms to a feline arm with stripes to strike. Hibiki quickly blocked making Eiji scratch his arms making it bleed heavy.
"I think I know what his quirk is now, I knew there was something interesting about it."
Hino Eiji
Quirk: Animal shifting
Eiji is able to transform his head, torso and legs into different animals he can think of. But if he transforms all into animals that has something in common, then he'll turn his whole body into an abnormal creature.
Midnight: Hibiki, are you okay to continue?
Hibiki: I'm fine, just give me a second and I could continue like nothing has happened.
Hibiki's arms began to regenerate back making him wipe the blood off.
Hibiki: Alright, let's go! I'm all fired up now!
Eiji than transformed his legs into a grasshopper's leg making him jump high and form a kick on his way down. Hibiki than quickly dodged before Eiji landed to grab his ongekibou. Eiji turned to see Hibiki charge up his ongekibou to shoot out fire; Eiji quickly dodged and changed his legs into a kangaroo's legs to jump toward Hibiki. As Eiji was landing, he changed his arms into praying mantis arms to attack. But Hibiki quickly moved and kicked Eiji's legs down to strike him with his ongekibou, but Eiji quickly transformed his head to a lion to trap the ongekibou with his teeth. As Hibiki was struggling to get it back, Eiji transformed his arms into a polar bear to swipe Hibiki out of the way. Hibiki than held his side while Eiji got up and transforming back to normal.
Eiji: You're pretty strong, I hope that I didn't disappoint you yet.
Hibiki than chuckled before answering.
Hibiki: Are you kidding? I'm far from disappointed! I think you even broke a rib! So for that, let me return the favor!
Hibiki than quickly ran towards Eiji to aim for his side, but Eiji quickly changed his torso into a tortoise shell. Hibiki than kicked Eiji's legs once more to punch him in the face, but Eiji quickly changed his head into a rhino's head to take less damage. Eiji than used his horn to lift Hibiki up and launched him into the air. As Hibiki was falling down, he inhaled his breath and exhaled to release large fire out of his mouth. After Hibiki landed, he checked to see that he's still in the ring and saw Eiji's uniform covering a large shell. As Hibiki stepped closer to the shell, a tentacle sprouted out and sprayed ink to cover Hibiki's eyes. Hibiki stepped back to wipe the ink off while Eiji transformed back to normal with his uniform fitting him again.
Eiji: Well, I had fun. But I have to end this match or else this will last all day.
As Hibiki still had his eyes closed, Eiji began to walk towards him while transforming his arms into a tiger's arms to strike. But Hibiki quickly ducked and uppercutted Eiji making him fly back.
Hibiki: Don't get too cocky, you actually helped me out! Instead of using my eyes, I could just use my other senses to beat you!
After Eiji got up, he transformed his legs into a cheetah's leg to run in circles around Hibiki to confuse him. Eiji than got closer to attack, but Hibiki dodged and kicked Eiji on the side then punched him across the face knocking him out.
Midnight: Hibiki has passed this round! He can continue in round 2!
As the crowd cheered, the medics came to take Eiji away and confront Hibiki.
Medic: Come with us, you should see Recovery Girl to heal you.
Hibiki: No, it's fine I'm alri-
Before Hibiki finished his sentence, he began to groan while holding his side.
Hibiki: N-Never mind, maybe I should see her...
Meanwhile after the 7th round, Yusuke was shirtless in the waiting room with the imagins doing push-ups. He continued until he heard the door open revealing to be Iida being worn out.
Yusuke: Hey Iida, that was one bizarre match you were in.
Iida: Yusuke? When did you get here?
Momotaros: Since your match started, I would've been pissed since he's been training too loud and couldn't hear the damn T.V. But since your match was such a waste of time, I'm not complaining at all.
Iida: I see, you must be preparing for your challenger.
Before Yusuke answered, he stood up while putting on his shirt.
Yusuke: That's right, I have no idea what his quirk is so I'm just preparing myself.
Iida: I see, well we will be rooting for you Yusuke; and hoping that we'll face each other in the next round.
While Yusuke is leaving the room, he gave Iida a thumbs up before exiting the door to make his way to the arena. After Yusuke made it to the ring, he saw Shinnosuke make it to the ring with mini wheels on his heels and exhaust pipes attached to his calves similar to Iida's. From seeing Shinnosuke's appearance, Yusuke began to think to himself.
"Wow, his quirk looks similar to Iida's. They probably should've put him and Iida together instead."
Present Mic: For the 8th round! We have class 1-A's student! Godai Yusuke! And his opponent is class 1-B's student, Tomari Shinnosuke!
After the announcement, both boys got in position until Midnight yelled "START!" Suddenly, Shinnosuke began to rev up his engine making his tires screech. Shinnosuke began to run in high speed to kick Yusuke, but Yusuke quickly used his quirk to block the kick with his arms. From the kick, Yusuke backed up and began to think to himself.
"That was fast! If I wasn't fast enough than that would've been the round!"
Tomari Shinnosuke
Quirk: Car engine
Shinnosuke is able to move in extraordinary speed thanks to the car engine attached to his heart, making him a human car.
Shinnosuke began to rev up his engines again to run towards Yusuke, but Yusuke quickly jumped up to land behind him to attack. Before he could land a hit, Shinnosuke used his engine to turn around and kick Yusuke's left shoulder in full speed. Yusuke flew across the arena almost landing outside the ring, he began to get up but realized that his shoulder is broken.
Shinnosuke: Don't think that I would fall for that childish trick, that would lead you to have a broken bone.
As Shinnosuke is making his way, Yusuke began to think to himself.
"Damn it! I don't know how I can get through this!"
Yusuke than noticed a scrap piece left in the last round giving Yusuke a good idea. Shinnosuke began to rev up his engine to run towards Yusuke to end the match, but Yusuke dove under Shinnosuke's kick to run towards the metal piece.
Shinnosuke: Don't try to run away!
Shinnosuke's wheels began to screech making him run towards Yusuke. After making it to the metal piece, Yusuke used his quirk to roll it up. As Shinnosuke was about to kick, Yusuke quickly used the rolled-up metal piece to stop the kick and transforming the metal piece into a large silver and gold sword with a purple orb in the center. Yusuke's eyes than changed to purple while Shinnosuke stepped back from shock. After Yusuke popped his shoulder back in place, he thought to himself.
"I would prefer my dragon form at this moment, but I guess titan form works too."
Midnight: Yusuke is using the scrap piece from the ring to transform it into a weapon, if he grabbed it outside the ring than he would've lose automatically. So, I'll allow it.
Shinnosuke: It doesn't matter, it won't be any different.
Shinnosuke began to rev up his engines to run towards Yusuke to attack but by everyone's surprise, Yusuke opened his arms to invite Shinnosuke to attack.
Midoriya: What is he doing?!
Uraraka: Is he trying to break his ribcage?!
Ryotaro: I-I hope that he has a plan for this...!
As Shinnosuke kicked Yusuke in the ribs, Yusuke didn't show any reaction with no damage. From shock, Shinnosuke backed away once again.
Shinnosuke: What?! H-How?!
Yusuke began to slowly walk towards Shinnosuke making him kick Yusuke again but failed. Shinnosuke continued while stepping back until Midnight spoke up.
Midnight: Shinnosuke stepped out of the line! Godai Yusuke has passed this round and could continue in round 2!
Shinnosuke than looked down to see that he is behind the line. Shinnosuke hung his head low and began to exit the arena until Yusuke spoke up.
Yusuke: Hey, you did great! And I'm lucky to have you as an opponent!
Yusuke than gave Shinnosuke a thumbs up while Shinnosuke bowed his head before continuing to exit the stage.
Shinnosuke: Thank you very much! You were great as well!
After Yusuke's visit from the Recovery Girl, he scanned for his seat until he spots his friends waving at him. After Yusuke walked to his seat, he sat down while the others praised him.
Midoriya: You did awesome Yusuke!
Uraraka: Yeah! I almost thought that you weren't going to make it!
Yusuke: Thanks, I didn't think that I would make it neither until I saw a metal piece from Iida's fight.
Ryotaro: Speaking of which, his quirk kind of remind of your quirk Iida.
Iida than sighed and rubbed the back of his head awkwardly.
Iida: Yeah...I know...
Afterwards, Present Mic began to announce the next round.
Present Mic: In the 9th round! On one side we have Class 1-A's student with a little bat! Kurenai Wataru! And the other side we have Class 1-B's student! Kazuraba Kouta!
After both boys made it to the ring, Kouta spoke up.
Kouta: Hey, I just have to warn you right now that this is our stage! And I'll make sure that Class 1-B has another point against Class 1-A!
Wataru said nothing while getting in his fighting position until Midnight yelled "START!" Wataru began to run towards Kouta until he snapped his fingers revealing a large zipper allowing three monsters to jump out.
Kivat: What are those things?!
Kouta: Oh, this? This is just my quirk.
Kazuraba Kouta
Quirk: Inves
Kouta is able to summon and control a monster race called "Inves" from a different world.
Kouta than continued while the Inves are growling at Wataru and Kivat.
Kouta: They're called Inves, they're creatures outside the Earth and I'm able to summon and tame them. These three are a special type Inves called Elementary Inves, and they're my favorites.
Kouta than started to point at them one by one.
Kouta: The blue one is Kuri, the green one is Sayamame, and the red one is Kosho.
After Kouta was finished explaining, Kivat spoke up.
Kivat: Such a coward! Letting these creatures fight your battles! How can you become a hero when you let your dog's fight and not you?
Kouta quickly got annoyed and snapped his fingers once more.
Kouta: Kuri, Sayamame, Kosho! Attack!
The three monsters did just that making Wataru jump past Kosho to kick it's back. Kuri and Sayamame was about to attack but backed up when Wataru did a spinning handstand.
Wataru: Kivat!
Kivat: Got it!
Kivat than quickly dug in Wataru's pocket to grab a blue fuestle to blow it.
Garulu! Show your true form!
Wataru began to transform while all three of the Inves starts to attack, but Wataru jumped to land on Kuri to bite it. Wataru than jumped towards Sayamame to scratch it making it bleed heavy before kicking it. Kosho than held Wataru from behind while the other two Inves recovered and began to evolve. Kuri began to grow wings on its back while Sayamame open the top of its head to reveal its true face with multiple teeth inside it. As the Inves made their way towards Wataru, he continued to struggle while Kouta snapped his fingers again making different zippers appear making many other Inves to enter the arena to surround them.
Kouta: It's not too late to give up!
Suddenly, everyone heard a heavy whistle sound making Kosho struggle to hold Wataru any longer. Kivat than flew up from the crowd to reveal a purple fuestle in his mouth.
Dogga! Show your true form!
After Kivat's announcement, Wataru is shown to have his eyes covered by his hair with his lower fangs showing while making deep growls. As Kosho was about to attack, Wataru punched Kosho to crash on one side of the Inves making them land outside the arena. All the Inves began to attack Wataru all at once but all was flown away when Wataru stomped his feet. As all the Inves was falling down, Wataru slowly made his way towards Kouta.
Kouta: Don't think that I'm giving up!
Kouta than ran towards Wataru to punch him in the face, but no effect happened. Wataru than held Kouta by the waist and tossed him outside the arena.
Midnight: Kurenai Wataru has passed this round! He is able to continue in round 2!
As the crowd cheered, Kivat dug in Wataru's pocket to blow another fuestle.
Wake up!
Wataru than reverted back to normal and saw Kouta outside the arena sitting up while rubbing the back of his head. As Kouta continued, he saw Wataru's shaky and sweaty hand reach out for him. Kouta accepted it and got up.
Kouta: Uh, thanks. I'm surprised that you wanted to help me after being kind of a jerk.
Wataru tried to respond back but failed making Kivat talk for him.
Kivat: We don't hold grudges even if their ego gets to them.
Kouta than nervously chuckled while rubbing the back of his neck.
Kouta: Y-Yeah, sorry about that. I just really wanted to win for my class, but I guess my ego got the best of me. Now I know how Monama feels...
Kivat: It's fine, but I suggest that you should use your quirk to help back you up while you fight the enemy. A true hero risks their lives to protect the civilian, using your quirk to fight while you're in the back seems a little cowardly if I say so myself.
Kouta: You're right, thinking about it does make me feel like a coward! I'll do my best to change my strategy!
After Mina's win in the 10th match, Takumi grabbed a brief case and made his way outside the entrance while Present Mic began his announcement.
Present Mic: Here we are in the 11th round! On our left side, a student from Class 1-A with a serious face holding a brief case! Inui Takumi! And our right side, another student from Class 1-A who is also holding something unusual! Kenzaki Kazuma!
After both boys made it to the ring, Takumi plopped down the brief case to open it to reveal his driver. While Takumi was hooking it up, he noticed what Kenzaki was holding.
"Is that his driver? So that's what he requested, but it doesn't matter because I'm for sure going to win!"
After Takumi was finished, he attached the belt to his waist while Kenzaki slid a card in the driver making it rotate around his waist with a bunch of cards strapping it on. As Kenzaki's belt began to make a standby sound, he started to pose by having his right hand reach the opposite side with his index finger up. Meanwhile, Takumi grabbed his cellular device to type in a code three times to close it while it announced "Standing By!" He then pointed the phone in the air while both boys yelled out "Henshin!" making their belts yell out...
Turn up!
Complete!
As Takumi is in his rider suit, he quickly grabbed a device from his back side to transfer the chip to the device.
Ready!
The device than formed a red blade making Takumi run towards Kenzaki; meanwhile a transparent door with a logo appeared in front of Kenzaki allowing him to run through it having him wear his rider suit after passing through. While running, Kenzaki quickly grabbed his Rouzer to clash swords with Takumi. Both boys continued to strike each other's blades making sparks fly, until Kenzaki finally landed a slash on Takumi's chest making him back up. Kenzaki than opened his Rouzer to grab two cards and swiped them.
Tackle!
Mach!
Kenzaki then ran behind Takumi in high speed to tackle him making Takumi slide halfway across the ring.
"Damn it! I forgot how troublesome those cards can be!"
As Kenzaki was making his way towards Takumi, he grabbed two more cards from his Rouzer to swipe them.
Slash!
Thunder!
Lightning Slash!
As his blade began to spark from electricity, Kenzaki began to run towards Takumi. Takumi quickly grabbed a camera from his side to transfer the chip to the camera.
Ready!
As Kenzaki was about to slash his Rouzer, Takumi moved to the side holding the device as if it's a knuckle duster and quickly opened his cellular device to press a button making his arm glow up red.
Exceed Charge!
Takumi than punched Kenzaki's side and kicking him afterwards making Kenzaki fall and drop his Rouzer. After Takumi put his device back, he dusted off his hands while sighing.
"Finally, now it'll be easier to take him out."
As Kenzaki was getting up, Takumi quickly grabbed the collar of his suit to drag him away from his Rouzer. Kenzaki than gripped Takumi's arm to drag him down and quickly try to run for his Rouzer. Takumi quickly grabbed Kenzaki by the foot but let go when Kenzaki kicked him away to escape.
"Shit! I was too reckless!"
Takumi quickly grabbed a pointer from his side and transferred the chip to it.
Ready!
He then attached the pointer to his ankle and opened his cellular device to press a button.
Exceed Charge
As the device was charging up, Takumi crouched down to think to himself.
"I'm not letting you have the chance to win this!"
Meanwhile Kenzaki made it to his Rouzer and quickly notice Takumi running towards him to jump in a kicking position while having a red pointer aim for him. Kenzaki quickly opened the Rouzer to grab two cards to swipe them.
Kick!
Thunder!
Lightning Blast!
Kenzaki than stuck the blade to the ground and jumped up to form a kicking position as well making both boys connecting each other's kicks. Both of them continued to hold their kicks making them struggle until lightning from Kenzaki's kick began to transfer to Takumi's suit to his belt making it malfunction. From the damage, Takumi fell backwards making his suit revert back to his gym uniform while Kenzaki landed on his feet.
Midnight: Kenzaki Kazuma has passed this round! He may continue in round 2!
As the crowd began to cheer, Kenzaki took off his belt to go back to his original uniform while the medics came to pick up Takumi's unconscious body. Before Kenzaki left the ring, he began to think to himself.
"That guy, I wouldn't have expected him to bring his belt as well. Is he, the same as me...?"
