Note: Hello, all. Here is the next chapter. We'll see what Kanami and the rest are doing.

Chapter 2

Chichen Itza, Yucatán, Mexico…

It was a warm night and around two in the morning. Ten individuals stood at the base of the Temple of Kukulkán located in Chichen Itza. Kanami, Hiyori, Mai, Kaoru, Ellen, Maki, Suzuka, MacArthur, Leatherface, and Tagitsuhime stood idly by without saying a word. All they were waiting for was the inevitable arrival of the sentinels.

They weren't the only ones around. The presidents of the five traditions, Yukari, Akane, Rui and their pilot were inside of the pyramid at the peak. MacArthur's jet had taken serious damage so it was taken apart in order to block the entrance to the pyramid. They were fairly certain that the sentinels would have no difficulty getting through but it was something.

"It wasn't supposed to go this way," MacArthur said after a long period of silence. The pain in his voice was evident. MacArthur had lost control of his creation and that's what is troubling him. The sentinels were supposed to adhere to his command but they went off running the city as they saw fit. They weren't supposed to round up all of the Toji and kill them off. His army was supposed to be a display of power. He was to be feared by everyone. At least MacArthur figured out how to keep Leatherface under control. He doesn't know how but he felt a sting when the clown, which he named Valak, was killed.

Valak had just witnessed Chie, Kofuki, and Kiyoka fall at the hands of the sentinels. He let his guard down thinking that the four sentinels were going to leave to look for more Toji. The clown was stunned when they started approaching him.

"Come on, guys! We can work something out!" the clown said but that didn't stop them from getting closer.

Before he could transform into something, one of the sentinels had quickly gone and sliced off his right arm. As he yelled out "What are you doing?!", another sentinel came in and sliced off both of his legs. While he was on the floor, a sentinel got on one knee and two blades came out of its right hand. It stabbed his eyes and with one quick motion, tore off his head.

As the clown was killed, MacArthur let out a gasp and he felt his heart stop. He quickly looked out the window of the jet and had a feeling the clown had died.

"Oh yeah? Look at what the hell happened! You ruined our country! Not even the military could fight these things," Suzuka scolded MacArthur with her okatana pointed towards him. He didn't budge at having the sword pointed at him.

"Foolish child," MacArthur responded. "What good will killing me do?"

At this, Suzuka let out a small groan and put her okatana away.

Maybe if he dies, then maybe all of them will drop dead, Maki thought.

"Kanami. If we don't make it out of this, please know that I've loved you and always have," Hiyori calmly said as she took Kanami's hands and looked her in the eyes. She thought Kanami looked absolutely beautiful with her long hair. All that was missing was the full moon so she could see her beauty in the moonlight.

"After this, why don't you lovebirds get a room so you can fu-" Kaoru managed to say but was cut off by Tagitsuhime.

"Don't go around talking like that when you have a crush on the blonde one. It's obvious," Tagitsuhime retorted. Seeing Kaoru's reaction, Mai chuckled. In reality, she was terrified. Anything that would distract her from the thought of what's coming would help.

"They're here," MacArthur interrupted. He slowly looked up and saw two figures approaching. They seemed to be flying at high speeds. Tagitsuhime and the rest of the Toji pulled out their okatanas and activated Utsushi. Kanami was given Mihono's okatana to use since Chidori was destroyed. Good thing she was also able to use Utsushi.

Soon after, two sentinels landed with a thud, The light tremor was felt by all of them. Seeing them all, the sentinels let out a mechanical-sounding growl. MacArthur stepped back a bit. Even he was scared. Kanami held Hiyori's hand tightly out of fear. She knows Hiyori will never leave her and Kanami would also do the same. Mai, Kaoru, and Ellen huddled together. Leatherface revved up his chainsaw and yelled at the sentinels. Tagitsuhime, Maki, and Suzuka did their best to put on a brave face. The aradama princess hoped that they would have difficulty fighting her just like the VAT did.

MacArthur was disappointed that he lost control of his creation. The moment he noticed that the sentinels had torn the doors open to his base, he knew that they were coming for him so he escaped. The rest of the scientists were long dead at that point so they were going for him if they broke open the doors. But why? Why are they targeting me? As he snapped himself out of his thoughts, one of the sentinels turned its left arm into a lance and jumped towards MacArthur in order to impale him. Before the monster was able to, MacArthur disappeared, reappeared next to it and delivered a thrust punch that pushed it a few measly feet. Soon after, twelve more sentinels landed. We're not winning this one, MacArthur thought.

As MacArthur tried to fight two monsters at once using his claws, a third turned its arm into a flaming lance and stabbed him. The lance went through his back and came out of the front. The sentinel twisted its arm and forcefully pulled it out. The rest of the team gasped at the sight in front of them. They had no time to process what happened because the rest of the sentinels were approaching them.

MacArthur let out a grunt of pain and fell to his knees. He looked down to his burning torso. He was too weak to let the Master Plaga turn him into some terrifying monster. The two he was initially fighting opened their heads vertically, revealing a very bright ball of orange light. Out of the sphere of light came a beam of energy that slowly burned MacArthur. After the beams stopped, MacArthur fell forward. With nine left, each of them would be dealing with one or two sentinels.

"Why did we let it get this bad…?" President Hashima asked while on the floor hugging her knees. She looked towards where the exit was, hoping for some miracle. The exit was down an L-shaped hallway. She didn't hear a single noise coming from the outside. She wasn't sure how she should feel about that.

The room they were in was dimly lit and it wasn't too big nor small. There were four pillars that had various unique symbols engraved into them. What the room lacked were windows. Director Maniwa was somewhat interested in the drawings on the walls.

"I'm still surprised that we teamed up with MacArthur. It got so bad that even he found himself in danger" President Gojou said.

"I just wish there was more that we can do to help them," Rui sadly stated.

One of the sentinels dashed towards Ellen and she was quick enough to block its punch using Kongoushi. She quickly recovered and delivered many strikes towards her opponent but it blocked all of them using its arms. Seeing a pattern, the sentinel clasped its hands and caught her okatana. It then pulled Ellen's okatana out of her hands and threw it back. Its palms had turned into a locking mechanism that held her sword and made it impossible to free. They then returned to normal right before it was thrown.

"You fucker!" Ellen yelled out of anger and fear. She became fearful when she lost concentration and lost Utsushi as a result. Out of pure desperation, she tried to punch the sentinel's orb of noro on its chest. It was futile because the sentinel grabbed her fist and twisted her arm. Ellen let out a yelp of pain and she noticed that it quickly turned into metal. Ellen had a horrified expression on her face when she got a clear look at her opponent. Letting go, the now-metal monster delivered a punch to her head that knocked her to the ground. As she was on the ground, the sentinel delivered a much more powerful punch that smashed her skull, killing her.

"You piece of shit!" Kaoru yelled as she ran towards the sentinel. Her target did not make any movement because it was still in its metal form. Her okatana wasn't going to do anything but that didn't stop the pink-haired Toji. Her hands started hurting after she had struck it. As she writhed in pain, another sentinel kicked her and she went flying. Another one not too far away had turned its fingers into blades and caught Kaoru. It held onto her until she lost Utsushi. She gave up and accepted her fate. The sentinel retracted its blades and the Toji fell to the ground.

Moving faster than a bullet, Tagitsuhime struck a sentinel and made it stumble a bit. Another jumped, landed behind her, and wrapped its arm around her neck. The sentinel who was struck punched the side of her head as the aradama princess tried to fight back. It then grabbed her waist and the other sentinel had an arm around her chest and the other hand holding her head. They both started pulling. For some reason, she was unable to teleport away. Tagitsuhime struggled and screamed until they finally tore her in half. One of them grabbed an okatana and planted it into her body to ensure she stayed dead.

Nearby, Leatherface was in pieces. They used his chainsaw to tear him apart. Mai had been decapitated with her okatana broken into several pieces. Maki had been going above and beyond trying to survive. She's only been on the receiving end of the attacks as she tried to fend off two sentinels. The moment they saw an opening, they pierced her with their lances for arms. One sentinel grabbed Suzuka and flew way up high into the night sky. The helpless Toji looked down to see how high they were going and how fast they were flying. After a while, there was a large explosion that lit up the field.

Hiyori was exhausted and was on the ground. She was too tired to use Utsushi again. She looked up to see the sentinel towering over her. Her pupils were glowing orange as she saw the bright orange light that came from the inside of the sentinel's opened head. She saw it charging a beam of energy.

"My Hiyori-chan!" Kanami yelled as she rushed over to her girlfriend. As if seeing things in slow motion, she saw a beam coming out the sentinel's head that was heading towards Hiyori. Kanami moved in front of her and took the energy beam full blast. After several seconds of excruciating pain, Kanami fell back.

Hiyori eyed the dead body of the girl she deeply loved. They had planned out their entire lives. Their goals and dreams were now shattered. After a few moments, she finally snapped. Grabbing her okatana and immediately activating Utsushi, she delivered a powerful blow towards the sentinel that rendered it useless. She had sliced it in half vertically and both halves fell with a loud thud. Others nearby noticed this and quickly turned themselves into metal.

Son of a bitch… Hiyori mouthed as she saw the impossibility of taking out another one as she saw eight of them approaching her. Hiyori had no choice but to give up. Running away wasn't an option because they would surely catch up with her. She dropped her okatana and put her hands in the air as tears streamed down her cheeks. She shut her eyes and waited for the worst to happen. Five of them turned one of their arms into lances. One after the other, five of the sentinels impaled Hiyori. One through her chest, her stomach, her throat, her side, and through her back. After retracting their weapons, Hiyori's body fell back.

Kanami and Hiyori were right next to each other. They looked as though they were holding hands. Kanami was horribly burned with a large hole in her chest and Hiyori was covered in blood.

Everyone inside the pyramid sat in silence. They were unsure how much longer they were going to stay there. They were hoping that the group would come to them and tell them that everything was okay and that they were safe now. Before anyone was able to say anything, there was loud banging. They all got chills because they knew who that was.

Outside of the makeshift door, sentinels were banging on the metal scraps of the jet.

Yukari got up and pulled out her okatanas. "I'll be back."

"Sister! You can't!" Akane pleaded. Ignoring her cries, Yukari pressed on and made her way towards the exit.

"The sentinels got to them…" Hashima quietly said as a lone tear rolled down her cheek. Goujou wrapped her arms around Hashima and cried into her shoulders when she realized what the banging on the scraps of the jet meant for the Toji who were out there.

"How the hell do they know we're here?!" Rui angrily stated.

As Yukari looked at the scraps of metal, she noticed that the banging had stopped. After staring at it for a few moments, she noticed that three spots were glowing bright orange. Knowing what they were exactly, Yukari quickly turned around and tried to make a break for it. Before she was able to run, one of the beams had struck her on the back. Then another two struck her.

A chill ran down everyone's spines as they heard Yukari's screams and the orange light coming from down the hallway. Akane was in tears when she heard her sister's agonized screaming. She's probably never heard her sound like that. Not long after, the sentinels entered the room the rest of them were in. They were so tall inside that they had to crouch a bit to walk through the hallway. They stood up right when they finally arrived. The presidents, Rui, Akane and the pilot were all shaking and sweating. There was no way they were going to fight. President Hashima looked up at one of the sentinels as it opened its head vertically, revealing a bright orange light.

The next morning…

Many tourists stood shocked. They couldn't believe what they saw. There was a bloodbath surrounded by the police tape. One of the tourists went under the tape to get a closer look. He immediately changed his mind when he stepped on a hand. He turned as white as a ghost and felt as though he was going to throw up. Another one looked at what looked like a robot who was sliced in half.

"These two looked as though they were lovers," an officer said as he looked at two girls who looked like they were holding hands.

Note: There it is. It got so bad that even MacArthur found himself in danger. I like to pronounce Valak as Vah-lahk for some reason. They were outnumbered from the start so it wasn't going to be a fight they would win. At least Hiyori managed to kill one. I may or may not update the note section if anything else comes to mind. Another option would be to include it in the note for the next chapter.
