Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Thieves' Dance. Enjoy the 22000-word chapter. I don't own RWBY. Monty Oum and Rooster Teeth do.
Russet looked up at the sky. He was quite curious as to how there were more thieves in town. That woman was far more dangerous if her semblance had messed with her.
"It seems like I'm not the only gun for hire in town," Russet stated to himself. "But how did they find the spy? Why did they want him dead so badly at the moment? I have a feeling if I wasn't there? Tukson wouldn't be walking away like that anytime soon." Russet stated before he shook his head.
"I almost got my ass kicked, I got cocky. I let her mess me up." Russet stated he started to think of what to do next. "If she's in town? Then we have issues." Russet added before he learned on the wall.
"Oz should have put something together by now. I don't know what the hell to do next." Russet added to himself before he crossed his arms. "I should go and try and find out what to do next," Russet stated and shook his head.
The bat Faunus was quite thrown off at the moment, but he decided to go and speak to Ozpin. If there would be issues? Then it wasn't his place to question orders and make his own.
"Oz wants me to come anyway," Russet stated to himself before he spread his wings. "I shouldn't be talking to himself at the moment. I should send a message, let them know what's going on at the second." Russet said and pressed the button to open communications on his scroll.
"Professor?" Russet questioned before he cleared his throat. "I am returning to Beacon. Do we have a plan for…? Her?" Russet asked, leaning on the wall as he did so.
"Come to me, we will talk in private." Russet heard to himself. "If there was something I could say? I will do it in my office. I have to ensure that she hasn't compromised anything else around Vale. We also have another issue, one which will affect the majority of Vale if I'm right at the moment." Ozpin stated to which Russet was silent, extending his wings fully to make a move.
"Is the meeting happening then?" Russet asked, awaiting the answer. "Never mind, I'll talk when it comes down to it back at Beacon. Permission to make one last sweep before I return?" Russet questioned before he hummed to himself.
"Do it, and keep a low profile, however," Ozpin stated, letting out a sigh as he did so. "I sent someone to make sure our guest reaches safety. I do not want her to know something is off. Do be careful, however." Ozpin put in to which Russet was silent, unsure of if this war could be won.
He trusted in his friend, he had yet to let him down. Ozpin was Remnant's best hope to survive the coming storm at this current time. He didn't know what she'd do if she arrived, what little he did know about his enemy was something that scared him. He didn't know what was happening next.
"I'll handle it as best I can, but know that the enemy is going to be worse than anything," Russet stated as he shook his head.
He wasn't stupid at all. Salem's army was endless and dangerous at the end of the day. Her Grimm couldn't plan anything, they were still beasts of war that enough bullets and training destroyed.
People like whom he had fought? They had one strength that the monsters didn't… They were intelligent and their ability to plan, a strategy that both sides covertly.
He sighed to himself as he waited for this to ramp up. He started to think of what happened next. They'd strike once more considering that they still had the advantage of surprise.
"There were a few loose ends if they sent assassins to silence someone," Russet stated as he shook his head. "Still? I feel like I know that woman who attacked me." Russet added as he rubbed at his temples.
That woman fought like someone who had to learn to battle on the streets commonly. He was well versed in the idea of street fighting and trying to fight dirty to win. There was something he remembered about her, but he didn't remember what it was.
"I need to look something up," Russet stated and shook his head before spreading his wings. "Whoever that woman is? she's the more dangerous one here." Russet added before he flew into the sky.
(With Emerald)
Emerald frowned to herself as she started to think of whom that warrior they had fought was. She was interested in whom had the skill to battle her and Mercury evenly. He was good for someone who had managed to battle her and Mercury.
"If he hadn't gotten in my way…" Emerald said while she clenched her fists. "He fought like he had been in dozens of fights before and barely survived," Emerald stated before she leaned on the wall.
She was well aware of what came next. Cinder was also well aware that they had failed at the end of the day. They had failed so badly that their target was entirely out of their range now. Tukson was ready to drag them down as well.
And who the hell was the man who had stopped both of them? He had ruined both of their plans. She hadn't tried to use her semblance to stop him as there was no real-time to do so. He'd rip into both of them before she had a chance to do so. The fact that she was still thrown off by his style of combat was unacceptable. She was supposed to be able to handle a huntsman and be on top of the problem. She had been thrown off by some huntsmen who shouldn't have dared be able to get her off guard to that degree.
Still? She'd be damned if he'd throw her off in combat again. She was supposed to be one of Cinder's best warriors and someone who didn't fail yet a simple huntsman had thrown off her and Mercury. If he hadn't gotten in her way? She'd be here being praised and constantly enjoying it from Cinder's sweet words.
Now? She was being scolded and insulted by her for a simple screw-up that wasn't her fault at the end of the day. It made her blood boil to be treated as nothing more than some constant slave who constantly failed on her missions. She growled and checked her weapons before she slowly started to pace back and forth. She planned to find the man who had screwed her over and end their miserable life. She wanted nothing more than to see him die for what he had done.
Yet she didn't know where she had seen him before. She knew somewhere in her mind that she had met him at some point or another. She needed to place her finger on it and find where it had been from. Whom they had been didn't matter as they were someone now. Still? He was important enough for her to need to know who it had been.
"They're dead the next time I see them," Emerald stated before she rubbed at her crimson eyes in annoyance. "And I'll make sure of it before they die that they know who I am," Emerald stated before she raised her eyebrow at her aggression.
She hadn't been this way many times. It wasn't at all something she was sed to at the end of the day. Still? It felt rather nice when she considered it. She was well aware of the fact that her master wanted a better job done from her and that she had no room for effort when it came down to it.
"Hmm. I need to make another call and a favor." Emerald stated with some annoyance as she did so. "That's going to suck," Emerald said while he cleared her throat as she went to do so.
She didn't wish to owe someone else a favor when it came down. There were problems with this. Problems in how she conducted herself. Any less and she'd be seen as weak, any more and she'd be seen as a thrall trying to rise above her station. She needed to handle this before it caused bigger issues.
Whoever it was? it was clear they had made their point that their attacks in Vale weren't going to go unanswered. It also told her just how well this was to be dealt with.
If they wanted a battle? Fine, the best thing to do was to stop them and assess their skill and threat. Mercury was already doing that with the others, she saw no problem with doing that with him and seeing how to properly address him.
Plus? This wasn't something Cinder needed to worry about at the time, wasn't something she needed to deal with at the moment. This would be done and dealt with by tonight sooner or later. This had occurred and they'd need to respond before something when it came down to it. She had simply decided to crush the problem before it became a problem when it came down to it.
She watched as the rest of the soldiers in the White Fang moved out, eager to make up for what the humans had failed to currently do. This had become a lot harder at the end when it came. They had planned to crush their enemies, this simply showed that they had been weak, a link that would need to be addressed properly. This wasn't going to plan and it seemed they either sensed weakness or a way to strike back and prove themselves. Still? There was more when it came down to it. This wasn't going to be interesting for them. They had failed and it was clear they'd see a problem they could take advantage of. Yet it seemed to end? There was more in their eyes, a need to push them beyond what they could do.
Still? They needed to be dealt with and she'd deal with it when it came down to it.
(With Russet)
Russet looked down at the rest of the city and sighed as the cold air wafted under his nose. This was going to end sooner or later. He felt as if he had been pushed to his breaking point when it came down to it.
He seemed to glance around as he nodded while he clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth. He was going to happen when this ended at the second. Russet was certain they'd come back to settle this another way, how else was it to be settled if not in one night. There was the scent of death in the wind. He seemed to question what was to come.
'Probably at this rate? There'd be something similar to monsters or that woman bringing the moon down on them.' Russet stated before he sighed.
He almost questioned what to do when it came down to it. He'd be interested in what came next if this was said and done. He almost wanted to scream as he looked around at the city, almost interested in what to say or do.
"What would happen next?" Russet stated before he seemed to think of what to do.
There was a lot more on his plate when it came down to it. He tapped on his arms before pacing back and forth. He was honestly interested in what to say or do. He clicked his fingers together. There was a lot more interest in that woman and what she'd try or do.
"She's tough and her partner is just as tough. Honestly? She's still the bigger threat. If she has an illusion semblance? Then that's worse than someone who can fight better. Salem controlling a gun like that pointed at Vale? That's a worse weapon than anyone who's just good at fighting." Russet stated as he spread his wings and looked at the city.
He glanced at it with a lot more interest. He needed to find the woman and take her apart. It had to be handled before she brought Vale down and sliced the city apart. Yet he needed to take it apart discreetly.
He flew off into the city and sighed. He had a lot more on his mind than the woman who seemed to dominate it. She had to be stopped.
"That woman will be the death of Vale, we have an entire army coming here. Now we have an illusionist with combat skills? That's worst than anyone who can fight. I need to stop her before she turns the city into a Grimm breeding ground." Russet said before he sighed and rolled his eyes.
