Daniel, Cream & Tails: Musical Maestros

(Author's Notes: Hey everyone! How are you all doing? I hope that all of you are doing well. Myself, been trying to endure this heat wave that my home state of Texas is under & hoping for some much needed relief. I believe that we need about fifteen days' worth of rain straight; not a HUGE downpour but a steady stream of rain. One that will balance out the heat we have endured.

Also, been relaxing a little since I finished two stories in a short amount of time. But now I am back on track, and ready to write! I hope that my friend Author danielman21 likes this chapter.

On another note, I really do hope for this… that the stories I have worked on like my Disney/Toho works, my Star Vs. story & my Danny Phantom x Dragonball crossover story will gain attention of the positive kind. I had high hopes for my Disney/Toho works to become something more… but since that will never be, I believe I am just content that my stories are welcomed immensely by the readers and hopefully reviewers.

I do not own the plot, my new Author friend does. Neither of us own Sonic X, as it is a television animated series that was created in Japan. It was directed by Haijime Kamegaki, produced by Takeshi Sasamura & Tadahito Matsumoto. The original network is was broadcasted from is TV Tokyo in Japan, and in the United States by many other networks such as Disney Channel, Jetix, Fox, 4Kids TV and more. It ran from April 2003 to April 2005.

Also, will be utilizing a level or so from the video game Sonic Forces even though I have never played the game itself.

Now, on with the story!)

Little Daniel was in awe as he saw a field of wildflowers stretched before him. The seven-year old human child had been shown the outside of the Rabbit home, being guided by Cream and the blue Chao known as Cheese. The duo had shown the small human the front and side property of the house, Danny amazed to see the village that had anthro beings like his new friends. He wanted to go see them, but Cream told him to wait on that for the time being.

Despite being a child, the daughter of Vanilla was quite wise & smarter than one gave her credit for. She knew that her anthro neighbors might react badly to seeing a human child, given on how disruptive a certain round adult human was in their lives. She was just fortunate that the neighbors were preoccupied with their own business that they did not see Daniel.

Once she showed him the garden she had in the front, and Tails' special workshop that was to the side of the abode, she & Cheese took him to their special place that was behind it and into the woods. Of course, Danny was a bit nervous about going into the woods.

It stemmed from an incident where his parents took him camping one time, and it was going pretty well… until he had decided to wander off from the campsite to explore on his own. His parents were distracted in making dinner; his father Mathias working on a grill that had been provided by the staff that worked at the park they were camping in, his mother Torli getting said food ready so her husband to get to cooking.

They had assumed that their son had been sleeping in the large tent they were using, which he was… until he woke up, and instead of going to his parents, he decided to check out the woods out on his own due to his own curiosity.

The young Clark lad had managed to go in quite deep into the thick foliage of the forest, looking about in fascination at the various animals that were there such as crickets, grasshoppers and even butterflies. However… his curiosity changed into fear when he saw before him a large grizzly bear!

What he ran into was a mother grizzly bear with two of her cubs, which were behind her. At seeing the human child, the mother grizzly immediately got into a defensive stance and growled loudly at Daniel. The young man whimpered in fear at seeing the animal, which was different from the teddy bear he had in his room back home. The mother grizzly made a threating display, moving a bit towards the intruder while growling.

It was enough that it broke Daniel out of his fear, turning around and running away from the scene as fast as his legs could carry him. Seeing that the threat was gone, the mother bear looked to her cubs and all three lumbered away deeper into the forest.

When Danny had come back, his parents were surprised to see him running out of the forest & looking quite terrified. His mother scooped him up into her arms, the mother trying to reassure the frightened child while the father asked on what had happened. When he managed to tell them on what occurred, they were stunned that their son had left the area without telling them.

They did not scold him as he was very scared still, but they did tell the little tyke that next time, he should stay close by instead of wandering on his own. While it did end on a high note with nothing serious happening, the action did leave a bit of an impression on young human concerning wooded areas.

Cream and Cheese saw the nervousness on the young human's face, their innocent joy at being out and about turning to concern. The young rabbit and Chao went to Danny, Cheese speaking in his native tongue as he flew to the left side of the human's head. Cream asked in a concerned tone, "Danny, what is the matter? Is something wrong?".

He looked to the concerned and caring bunny girl with scared eyes and answered timidly, "Well… I am a bit afraid of the woods. Last time… I was in there… it was alone and… I saw a LARGE bear with two baby bears. She growled at me and looked like she was going to eat me… so I ran back to Daddy and Mommy…".

The two saw now what was wrong with their new friend. He was scared that what happened to him in the past would be repeated like so. Cream soon smiled, giving off a gentle & reassuring air that made Daniel relax a little. She stated in a gentle tone, "I'm sorry that happened to you. But don't worry! These woods are full of good things, and nothing bad will happen to you! I promise!". Cheese shared the same sentiments, nuzzling at the young lad's cheek while speaking in his own language.

The young Clark lad felt the gentle yet strong truth that was coming from Cream, believing in her words. He felt strength be regained in his body, and the fear that had started to surround his mind & heart quickly dissipated like ice on a hot sidewalk. Even though he just met her, Danny trusted his new friend.

He smiled and replied back in a joyful, grateful tone, "I believe you! Thanks Cream! And you too Cheese!". Both wore smiles on their faces, glad that their attempt to console & reassure the young one worked.

Daniel started to run with the Cream in the field of wildflowers, once again his focus on the lovely flowers that honestly he did not see much of. He lived in the city with his family and friends, and even though they did go out into the wilderness every now and then for recreation, he had never seen a field that had different kinds of flower. He saw bluebonnets, tulips, sunflowers, honeysuckles, Grass of Parnassus a.k.a bog stars, bee orchids and more!

For the human, it was something out of a dream or nature books that he had seen back home. But it was all real, and that made it more fascinating.

~Back at Tails' Workshop~

The two-tailed fox was on the radio, trying to contact Sonic. However, his efforts did not bear much fruit as he got the answering machine three times. He knew that his best friend was most likely running somewhere on the planet, or at the very least helping a town or two with some kind of trouble. When third time was not the charm, Tails gave up and just hoped that the messages he left behind would be heard by said blue hedgehog soon.

He punched in the number for Amy's phone, the speakers ringing a couple of times… than thankfully a CLICK was heard and the sound of the lovely pink hedgehog came over them! She called out, "Hello, this is the cute and adorable Amy Rose Hedgehog speaking! Who is this please?".

Tails had to chuckle softly at hearing her answering response, then spoke out over the Astatic microphone, "Hey Amy! It's me Tails!".

The pink hedgehog responded in mild surprise, "Oh Tails! Hello there! How are you doing?".

He responded, "I'm doing alright. But I have a huge favor to ask you, and it's kinda important.".

Amy's voice called out with the surprise in her tone a bit more apparent, "A huge and important favor from you? Is it anything about Sonic?". Tails smiled and shook his head, as Amy always assumed that when it was important, most likely it was related to his friend.

Tails answered back, "Not this time. No, this time it's a bit of a unique problem that just occurred. You see, a human child named Daniel Clark came to our world. Vanilla found him and brought him back to our home.".

Miss Rose's tone was now very stunned by the news and she spoke in a tone that conveyed the emotion, "Wow! Someone other than Chris managed to make it here?! And a kid no less? No parents or other adults with him?". When it came to children, Amy acted like a concerned big sister of sort.

The two-tailed fox answered back, "Nope. He actually came here by accident.". Tails than started to tell Amy what their new friend told them. Needless to say, the lovely pink hedgehog was stunned that Daniel had managed to sneak into such a facility and make his way to their world due to the invention that his parents had a hand in building. She was also upset that Danny's parents had to work on his 7th birthday.

When the tale was finished, Amy's voice came back on that was full of sympathy, "Aww, the poor little guy… coming into this world on his own… Is he there with you?".

Tails answered back, "No, he is with Cream and Cheese. They are looking after him while I make some calls to the others, which included you. Listen, do you think you can come over here and help us out?".

She answered back cheerfully, "Sure thing! I'm at Music Bay, so it shouldn't take me that long to make it to where you are in my plane so…". Her reply was cut off by Tails, which surprised her mildly as it was not like the best friend of Sonic to just cut her off like that.

He exclaimed in a voice that showed a trace of eagerness in it, "Wait! You're at Music Bay, and also you have your plane with you?". Amy Rose had been given a spacecraft that was done on her specifications when she and the others had to leave for space in order to deal with the threat from Dark Oak. It seems that she had kept it, and turned it into her own personal vehicle.

Amy answered back in a tone that showed confusion, "Why, yes I am. I was just about to leave the place after I finished shopping. Why do you ask?".

The mechanical/engineering genius thought to himself, 'Music Bay… that place has all kinds of good quality instruments! There is still some time before Mom's birthday that is in two weeks, so maybe… well, time to go for the gusto here!'.

He looked around quickly to make sure that Vanilla was not around anywhere near the place, and once he saw that said mature bunny woman was not in the vicinity, he turned back to the microphone and spoke, "Amy listen, there is something else I need to ask of you. It's another favor, but I'll repay you back for this one! I promise you!".

The pink hedgehog beauty was certainly confused at this point and inquired, "Ooookay… what is the 2nd favor Tails?".

Tails answered back, "Listen, Vanilla's 35th birthday is in two weeks. I wanted to surprise her by doing a little musical number for her on my violin. Cream managed to find out and…".

Amy responded back in surprise, "Wait, wait, wait! A musical? Violin? When… oh! It's from that time that we went to that concert in England with Mrs. Thorndyke, isn't it?! You got into that kind of music?!".

The two-tailed fox chuckled nervously and answered honestly, "Yeah, I did. So much that on the sly, I asked Mr. Tanaka if there was any musical instruments in the manor home. He took me to the Music Room, and… well, I found out I had a bit of a natural talent with the violin. He taught me some lessons and I managed to learn some classic workpieces from the greats.".

The alluring pink hedgehog was certainly surprised by this, soon finding her voice and asking, "Tails, that… I… just… wow! That is incredible! Why didn't you tell any of us of this before?!".

Tails answered back nervously, "Well… I didn't want to get teased by any of you for having a talent in music like that. I know you and the others are my friends but… I was afraid that you would tease me for doing something that was not linked to battle or machine mechanics. And that would lead me to remember some… bad things from the past.".

Amy realized now on what Tails was saying, and also why. Tails had once confided in her on how he was badly teased by his peers back in the past due to his two-tails & also for being smarter than any of them. She answered back that she knew what it was like to be teased as well, due to her love of fortune-telling & mystical items or stories. So in a way, they were linked through past situations.

And as for the why, she realized that any kind of teasing from his friends might bring up old memories… memories of hurt, and thus why Tails did not tell any one of his musical talent.

She stated through her phone, "I understand Tails. I am surprised yes, but also glad that you found something that is not related to battle or mechanics.".

Tails was very surprised by her answer and asked the simple question in his stunned state, "Really?".

Amy answered back, "Of course! I was actually worried that you would be obsessed with either fighting like Knuckles, or robotics like that Dr. Robotnik jerk. I know that he calls himself Eggman and that the others call him that, but I think it's better to call him by his real name. That Eggman thing sounds like something from a bad cartoon show. In any case, I am now eager to see you in action with a violin!".

The mechanical genius chuckled at that part, as truly Eggman sounded like the name of a cheesy villain while Robotnik had a special kind of quality to it, as it was more linked to his like of making robots of destruction. He spoke to Amy, "Thanks Amy! I needed that. Which comes to my favor. Do you think you can get me another violin, and also a keyboard piano?".

The beautiful pink hedgehog answered back, "Well, sure. I do have enough money to get them, but why…? Oh! I get it now! Since Cream, and most likely Cheese too, found out about your talent, I bet you told them your plan for Vanilla! And now they want to help you in making a more special concert for her birthday, right?".

Tails smiled and replied in a positive tone, "That's right! Amy, you are quite smart than others give you credit for!".

On that, Amy did preen a little with pride. While many saw her as a Sonic fangirl with other little attributes, she was clever and smart. She was more perceptive about people, and could spot if something were wrong or off in a crime scene. She spoke once more, "Thanks Tails! That means a lot to me. And sure, I'll get them for you! Also, you don't owe me anything. Consider this a present for Vanilla, in where you and Cream & Cheese can present it to her when you use them on her birthday.".

The two-tailed mechanical genius spoke once more with relief on his face, "Thanks Amy! That does mean a lot to me! Thank you so much!".

She giggled on the other line and replied in a joyful tone, "Hehehehehe! You're welcome! Now, it might take me an hour or so to get to you. And also, I'll help where I can concerning this Danny kid! So I will see you later Tails! Thanks for telling me all this!".

He answered back in a tone full of gratefulness, "You're welcome Amy, and thanks for doing all of this! You take care now! Bye!". He cut the connection, which to Amy meant that he hung up.

The little fox was very much pleased that he was able to complete so much, and it was all thanks to Amy Rose! He made a mental note to really show his appreciation to the pink hedgehog. He soon remembered another task that he had to do, one for Danny. He punched in some buttons on his console, turning a dial and soon waiting for a response.

The speakers broadcasted a ringing sound… and after two rings, a receiver was picked up and a rough male voice called out, "Team Chaotix Detective Agency, Detective Vector speaking!".

He had done it! He managed to contact Team Chaotix! Tails answered back, "Hey Vector! It's me Tails! How are you?".

Vector the Crocodile answered back in a mild surprised tone, "Hey there! Nice to hear you again, little guy! How are you? Been awhile since we last met, hasn't it?".

Tails answered back, "Yes, it has been awhile. Vector, do you have any cases you're working on?".

The leader of Team Chaotix answered back, "Nope! Been a week since we finished the last case. Business is a little slow, but we're still going strong!".

He was not joking in that area. The detective agency he, Charmy Bee and Espio the Chameleon worked at was actually doing pretty well. They had been getting cases that ranged from very mild (such as finding items for kids and such) to serious (where they had to locate missing persons, and rescue them from bases that were controlled by Eggman). So their business was actually thriving.

The two-tailed fox stated, "Good! I may have a case for you and the guys. It's to find two people… to be specific, humans.".

Vector's voice was in disbelief as he responded, "Humans?! You mean Chris or any of his friends from Earth?! They're here?!".

Tails replied back, "No, none of them are here. You see, a small human kid by the name of Danny Clark came to this world through a series of unfortunate circumstances. Vanilla found him and brought him here. Me, Cream, Cheese and her are going to look after him until we can find a way to send him home. But… and I do mean but… there is a chance that his parents must be here, but perhaps in a different location then where Danny appeared at.".

The strong anthro crocodile was silent for a moment, than replied, "I see… well, we can take the case than!".

The best friend of Sonic answered back, "Excellent! But just wait a moment. I want to see IF they did come here already.". He went to a computer that was by his radio set, turning it on and going to a program that brought up a 3D map of Mobius. He then activated a special kind of radar that was now scanning the planet.

Some time ago, Tails took the time to install a special program into his computer, which could actually track down human signatures! While similar in some aspects, he found out that human DNA was different than anthro DNA. And he had installed a tracking system that could help him to pinpoint locations of humans on the planet, believing that it would be useful after Chris's visit to their world. And as it turns out, his decision to have said security system set up being a sound one.

He punched in a few buttons, waited for a moment & signals came up! They were in blinking white dots on the blue map… and there was four of them! Tails was surprised, but in a good way as this means his theory was correct! Danny's parents WERE here in the world, but must had gone off to different coordinates than their son!

Tails yelled out, "Whoo! Yes! I was right! They are here! Let me see… the one at Eggmanland has got to be the bad doctor. The one actually near my location, that is Danny. And the two signals close together, they are… huh? They are at the Casino Forest in the Mystic Jungle area? How come they ended up there?".

The ancient forest was deep in the southern hemisphere of Mobius, an ancient city built there that was said to house some seriously powerful mystical artifacts & animals. However, the city fell into ruin as time passed on. And several months ago, Eggman had tried to convert the ruins into a casino as he loved to play games of chance and such. However, he and Tails managed to foil his plans & the doctor had to abandon the project. However, most of the area was now a hybrid of casino fun & jungle growth with the ruins being made into mazes and such.

The two-tailed hero went back to the console and spoke into the microphone, "Hey Vector! It seems that Danny's parents ARE in Mobius, and they seem to be in the Casino Forest!".

Vector called out in surprise, "Wha-?! The Casino Forest?! How in da heck did they get there?!".

Tails set forth a theory, "I think it may have to do with the trans-dimensional energy from their world most likely getting caught by the energy from the zone. Either way, I believe it is them! Vector, could you and the others go check it out? I will gladly pay you and your team for this!". Tails had his own stash of cash that he accumulated doing odd jobs for others, and also from grateful citizens when they helped them against Eggman.

The anthro croc replied on the other line, "Nah, forget it kiddo. This one is on us! You and Sonic helped us on some of our cases, so consider this one a freebie!".

He was again surprised at this and replied back with gratitude in his tone, "Thanks a lot Vector! I'm sure that Danny will appreciate it that we are able to find his parents here! When you do find them, please bring them to Vanilla's home here please.".

Vector answered, "You got Tails! Well, going to tell Espio and Charmy our latest case! I'll see you later in a few days' time then!". It was a good distance from their location to the Mystic Jungle area, so even if they did find the Clark's easily, it would take some time for them to get back to civilization.

Tails replied, "Okay than! Good luck you three! Tails, signing off.". He then turned off the radio, cutting the transmission and ending the call.

The two-tailed fox said to himself, "Man, what a lucky break I got! Contacting Amy at the right place and time, and also Danny's parents are here! And soon, they will be reunited with their son! Might have to figure how to send them back to Earth, but that can wait until AFTER Mom's birthday.".

A thought came to his head that made him frown. He said to himself but in a soft, worried tone, "I hope that Danny's parents can make it on their own until Team Chaotix gets there. That forest they are in is no joke, and that still leaves the question on what could be inside those ruins that can affect dimensional travel…".

After some moments, he decided to put his worries & questions on the backburner for now. He decided to clear his head and go find Danny to tell him the good news. Tails left his workshop, automatically going to the wildflower fields. He remembered that Danny's location was there, and it made sense as the fields were a special, soothing kind of place that Cream & Cheese would take the human child there.

~In the Mystic Jungle zone~

A jungle that once stood the test of time, home to an ancient civilization that flourished back in the many tens of thousands of years on Mobius. Now it had changed dramatically; foliage was still around, but most of it was replaced with neon-colored bumpers, switches and slots. Much of the ground was paved over with concrete, the animals that had lived there for centuries were forced to move due to the excessive noise from the place. An ancient aqueduct that was used to divert water for farms and such had been changed to become a sort of water slide roller coaster.

It was here that a flash of light had gone off at the front door of one of the ancient ruins. It warped and changed to become a swirling portal, but it only lasted for 10 seconds. And from the white vortex came forth two humans… Mathias and Torli Clark! However, instead of a soft landing like Danny… they were spat out quickly from it before the portal winked out of existence.

The duo were unconscious, out cold as they tumbled on the ground & landed in front of the stone doorway. Like their son, they experienced intense sensation as they traveled through the dimensional tunnel. So much so that it forced their minds to shut down, least it do something serious to their minds. And even upon impact, they did not wake up.

However… they were not alone.

Arriving on the scene were two figures; one seemingly sliding on the ground, and one arriving from the air. The one in the air landed besides the one on the ground, their identities hidden in the darkness, but their forms were visible if one were to see them.

A sensual feminine voice spoke up, "Well, well. What do we have here? Two humans arriving to our world. And from the looks of their clothes, they are scientists.".

A deep male voice replied back, "So… are they a threat? Or do we just leave them be?".

The one with the fine female form was silent for a moment and said, "I say we take them inside the ruins. We could get more information out from them when they wake up.".

Her partner merely replied, "Hmm. Sounds reasonable. Come on, let's take them before one of the good doctor's sensors detect us.".

The duo emerged from the shadows, the moonlight from above a hole from the treetops revealed that the duo was… Rouge the Bat and Shadow the Hedgehog! The black hedgehog went to the two humans, going between them and pulling out a dark-purple Chaos Emerald from his quills. Rouge smiled, winked at Shadow, who just closed his eyes and focused.

He and the Chaos Emerald glowed brilliantly briefly before he announced, "Chaos… CONTROL!". He then instantly vanished, Rouge and the humans also disappearing with them! They were now inside the ancient ruins, deep within the structure as it acted as one of their base of operations.

Things were now getting more interesting for Danny and his family!

(Author's Notes: And… done! That is it for this chapter! I really hope you like it!

Shadow and Rouge are on the scene, as well as Team Chaotix! Expect some action here, but nothing too major. And also, expect a lot of wholesome goodness with Tails and the little ones. And finally, expect Amy to come in and aid Tails' attempt to do something special for his adoptive mother Vanilla!
