John's latest concussion erased his memory. He could speak but had no memory of his life. Carson told him he was in the Air Force, he'd been in an accident, and was in the infirmary. Time would tell if his past would return. John touched the ring on his finger and asked about his wife. Carson told him he was sure the right people knew what had happened. Then he let John rest.
In his office, Carson pulled the matching ring out of his pocket. John didn't consider he might have a husband. Carson put his ring on and cried.
