Daniel, Cream and Tails: Musical Maestros

(Author's Notes: Hey everyone! How are you all doing? I hope all of you are doing well and good.

Before I say and do anything else, I wish to give praise and glory to the Lord. God, thank you for being with me and helping me to become better to you. It's bit by bit, day by day, but I become closer and real with you. The world is still a crazy and mixed-up place, but I am grateful and joyful that I am not part of said world. Please continue to guide me and my family, my friends and their loved ones through the world. And also continue to guard us against the false, toxic and artificial ways that are pouring out into the land and people.

Continue to aid me Lord in becoming more true and real to you, that the gifts of imagination and story-crafting are in your honor and name, and finally that I showcase your direct blessings which are women in a true, real and better light.

It's been a crazy month or so for me, but thankfully getting better. I am a bit disappointed that my works, not just this one, have not been getting the number of reviews I had hoped for. But oh well… cannot please everyone, and not even going to try.

In this one, little Daniel gets to know Amy a bit more. And also, Tails and the others get the schedule going on when they should practice & on how to keep Vanilla from finding out about their practicing. Going to be tricky, but it can and will be done. And also, get ready for some surprises that will amaze you! Or at least, I hope so.

I am also working on a project with my best friend Author Dreams Come True 996; a triple-crossover of Danny Phantom x Powerpuff Girls (Original) x SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron! It has been a long time coming, and will actually pause my own works until this project is complete. It is called The Powerpuff Girls in: The Radical Dimension. Hope any of you check it out, as well as my other works if you please.

I wish to do this for my Tia Pamela Espurova-Allen. She is working with police and other official groups to locate and bring home a missing girl that is part of a family she works with & has befriended. Her name is Lina Khil, a little girl that was taken on December 20th, 2021. The search is still on for her, but so far… no luck.

Her information is this: She is three years old, hair brown, eyes brown, race Afghan, weight 55 lbs. & height 4'0. If any can help to locate and find her, please do so and notify the proper authorities. Hoping and praying still that she is found alive & returned to her family.

I want to send a strong thank you to my friend Author danielman21, the one who had requested I make this story. His enthusiasm and positive energy for this story and his ideas are truly something, and have helped me to flesh out the special more. So thank you danielman21 for your ideas and suggestions, and also for your patience as well.

I still hope to see some reviews for the stories I have written such as my Star Vs. story & my Danny Phantom x Dragonball crossover. My own projects are put on hold for now until I finish up with this and other ones. It might take a while, but hopefully I can get back to my own projects as best I can.

I do not own the plot, my new Author friend does. Neither of us own Sonic X, as it is a television animated series that was created in Japan. It was directed by Haijime Kamegaki, produced by Takeshi Sasamura & Tadahito Matsumoto. The original network is was broadcasted from is TV Tokyo in Japan, and in the United States by many other networks such as Disney Channel, Jetix, Fox, 4Kids TV and more. It ran from April 2003 to April 2005.

Also, will be utilizing a level or so from the video game Sonic Forces even though I have never played the game itself.

Now, on with the story!)

In Tails' workshop, said genius anthro fox boy was looking at the musical products that Amy managed to get for them. He spoke in an excited tone, "Okay now, let's see… we got the violin, a keyboard piano, an acoustic guitar and… huh? A mini-harp?". His tone changed from excited to perplexed as he saw the object that was in Big's right hand. It was fortunate that the workship was large enough to accommodate the large anthro.

Cream looked at the object and spoke, "A mini-harp? Is that what it is?". Cheese looked at the musical object that was in the palm of the fishing cat, also curious about the stringed instrument.

Tails looked to his little sister and explained, "Well, a harp is a stringed instrument that comes in many sizes, shapes and types. There are the pedal harps, lever harps, wire harps, cross-strung harps, double harps, Aeolian harps, Paraguayan harps, electric harps and so on.".

The trio in the room were amazed at the information that Tails seemed to hold, which to them was more impressive than when he talked about machines and such. Tails continued on, "It seems that she brought a lyre harp. But I wonder why…?".

It was Cream that suggested, "Oh, I know! Maybe Amy wants to be part of the surprise for Mother, and that is why she brought it here.".

Tails thought on that, looked to his little sister and answered, "That is a possibility. We'll have to ask her first when we get the chance.".

The two-tailed fox than stated, "And now that we have the instruments we need, we can practice more!". A smile was on his face as he was finally going to get everything all set up so that the birthday surprise for his mother would be perfect as he had envisioned. What was actually better was that this time, he was going to be joined by friends that would actually enhance his dream. That he believed in very much!

Big scratched his head and asked a very good question, "But… how can you practice here? Won't Miss Vanilla hear the noise?".

Tails smirked, walking over to the right wall that was near the entrance door. He went to a switch that has the sign SOUNDPROOF above two buttons; one red that was marked OFF with white bold colors, and a blue one that was marked ON with the same colors. He pushed the blue one, and quickly a soft hissing sound seemed to fill the room.

Cream and Cheese saw the windows closing down, and covering said glass frame was a thin film of sort that was transparent. After a few moments, the hissing stopped and everyone turned to see Tails now having a small smile on. He explained to the group, "Just in case I needed to work on big projects, I made a special kind of film that goes all over the workshop outside. This makes the house soundproof so that no sound can be heard from the outside. I made so that I could keep things down for everyone, especially Mom.".

The adorable little bunny girl was very much proud of her big brother of making something so thoughtful towards their mother.

Tails went upstairs to get something, coming back down to show that he brought down the other violin that was from Earth & the two flutes he made earlier for Cream & Cheese. He also brought down with him the potted container that held the small sprout known as Cosmos. He gently set the plant down on one of the workbenches near a window, making sure she got enough optimal light from the sun, then turned to the others.

He looked to his little sister and the small Chao and stated, "Okay now, here is what we have to work with. Let's each take an instrument and see how good we are with them. Once we find out which ones we're comfortable with, we'll go from there.".

Big pointed to himself, asking if he could help. Tails sported a sad smile on and answered, "Sorry Big, but I don't think the instruments we have here can be of use to you.". He was right, as the musical instruments were quite small compared to his hands & also a bit on the fragile side as most likely they would not handle the strength he possessed.

Big was a bit sad on the news, but it was Cream who saved the day as she spoke in a cheerful tone, "I know! Mr. Big can be our audience!". Tails saw that indeed, they would need someone to rate how they did with certain instruments, so he agreed with the suggestion. This had Big clap his hands in delight, Froggy who was still on his head, also hopping for joy.

~In the Rabbit abode~

While Tails and the others started to see on which instrument that they should practice on more during the upcoming days, Vanilla Rabbit was sitting on the couch with Amy Rose, the small human child Daniel sitting in-between them. Amy was on his right side, Vanilla on his left. The mature beauty had managed to save enough sweet tea for Amy, putting it in a cup and giving it to her. The pink hedgehog accepted the drink, drinking it down and handling it like a lady of class would.

Daniel was looking at Amy before bringing his head down fast, his whole face red. The lad was confused as his small heart was pounding and his whole body just alit with energy that he did not know what to do with. But it also brought with it a kind of warmth through his whole body, inside and out. One that would want to see Amy smile and would do whatever she asked quickly. It was indeed the tell-tale signs of puppy love, one that Vanilla could see clear as day.

She giggled lightly, seeing the action of the human child she had just adopted bringing a smile to her face. Amy finished her tea, thanking the matriarch of the home for the sweet refreshment before looking down to the human child. She asked in a soft tone, "So Danny… how do you like it here so far?". Amy knew that the one from Earth had only been here for hours, but it seemed like a good conversation starter for the time being. Especially one that was seven years of age.

Danny looked up to Amy, his whole face red and it became red as a strawberry at seeing the face of Miss Rose. Seeing her soft green eyes, her unique pink fur and the style of her quill-hair made his heart beat a little faster. He answered timidly in a nervous voice, "I-I like it so far here, M-Miss Rose. M-Ms. Rabbit is taking g-g-good care of me, and Tails and e-everyone is really nice to me.".

At seeing his reaction and hearing him stutter like so, Amy realized that Danny had a puppy-love kind of crush on her. She looked to Vanilla, who simply smiled and nodded her head to confirm that she knew this. This flattered the young hedgehog, making her giggle softly. When Daniel heard this, he blushed and smiled a bit wider as to him, it was a melodious sound.

Miss Rose spoke once more, "That's really good to hear. And don't worry, Vanilla will take very good care of you during your stay here.". It was no lie there; while Vanilla looked gentle and sweet, she was quite adamant when it came to protecting those she loved like Cream, Cheese and now Tails. She was like a shield, firm and strong when it came to defending them from anything.

Danny nodded, than he remembered what Tails told him earlier. He looked to Amy and stated excitedly, "Oh yes, I almost forgot! Tails said that my parents are here!".

This certainly surprised the two ladies, as this was news to them. With joy in his voice, the young human child told Amy and Vanilla on what the two-tailed fox told him earlier. Needless to say, the duo were surprised that Team Chaotix was on the case AND that they were heading towards the Casino Forest in the Mystic Jungle zone.

Vanilla inquired, "And Tails said that they would be back in a few days?".

Daniel smiled at his new protector and replied, "Yup! He said that it would take them some time to search that jungle place, but they would be back soon with my Mommy and Daddy!".

Amy thought to herself, 'It would take time alright. That place is very dangerous for novice adventurers! The jungle has almost retaken the entire area, and the casino bumpers and such can make traversing through it very frustrating.'. She had visited the area before, and she did not envy Sonic or Shadow who went on foot through the jungle and casino spots.

The pretty pink hedgehog brought herself back to the here and now, looking at the young human with a warm smile and stated, "That's good to hear! I hope to see you reunited with your parents soon.".

Young Daniel saw the smile, his heart beating fast at seeing the smile on Amy Rose. He blushed and looked down quick while mumbling, "T-Thanks Miss Rose. I-I hope so too…". The adults found the scene adorable, both ladies giggling which was melodious to the child but also embarrassing for him as he felt that they were giggling at him, which made his face a bit redder.

Vanilla was about to say something when the telephone rang, causing her to look up at it momentarily before looking back to her guests. She rose up from the couch and spoke gently, "Excuse me please, I'll be back in a moment.".

She went to the phone, picking up the receiver and answering in a polite tone, "Rabbit residence, this is Vanilla speaking. How may I help you? Oh, Knuckles! Why, this is a surprise. Normally, you would call… oh? Really?! Oh dear… are you sure…? Sigh… well, okay. I'll come as soon as I can. Okay, thank you very much again. Bye.".

The mature beauty hanged up the phone, turning back to her guests who looked quite curious on what she was talking to Knuckles about. Amy inquired, "Miss Rabbit, what is wrong? Is something the matter with Knuckles?".

Danny called out in a curious tone, "Knuckles… Knuckles… oh! He is that red guy with the long locks, big fists with spikes on them and is very serious?". He had seen the pictures of Knuckles the Echidna back home, even hearing about his feats of strength and martial arts.

Vanilla smiled softly and replied that indeed, it was the Knuckles that Danny had just described. Her face soon changed into a sad one and stated, "It seems that something has happened at his home of Angel Island. He was sparring with Silver when he accidentally broke his arm when he put too much strength into his punch. So he has called on me to come over and examine him.".

Amy sighed and shook her head, saying in a tired tone, "Knuckles really needs to watch out with that strength of his. I know it can come in handy… but he needs to learn a bit more self-control.". While Knuckles had indeed mastered his own strength, it was during intense spars that he would momentarily lose focus and us all of his strength. Some that had fast reflexes like Sonic would be able to evade the attack, but those that did not… well, the damage was not permanent but would require some good medical attention.

Danny was puzzled as he had never heard of Silver before. He looks to Amy and asks, "Ummm… who is Silver? Is he a friend?".

The pink beauty smiled softly and stated, "He is. Silver is a hedgehog like Sonic, but he uses psychic powers like moving stuff with his mind and such.". This had the young human's eyes widen at hearing such a thing. In his view, something like that would be in comic books or movies, not in real life!

Vanilla got their attention by speaking once more, "Knuckles called here since I do have some healing skills and also that he trusts me more than regular doctors.". It was true; Vanilla had trained herself to be a nurse since her village was often attacked by Eggman and his minions. While they would be able to beat them back with help from Sonic and Tails, there would be casualties. So Vanilla had trained herself to be a nurse, and she actually learned more on medical techniques & medicine when she was on Earth.

Danny asked in a sad tone, "Does that mean you're going to leave?". His mother often had to leave when she was needed back at her place of work, quickly asking a neighbor or babysitter to look after him before leaving. Again, Torli was a good mother but sadly work often came first a majority of the time. She would apologize to her son, often saying that she didn't want to go but that her work did require her services. And also that it would help people, which made him understand yes… but still felt lonely when she left.

The mature rabbit beauty went over to him, kneeling down and putting her hands on his shoulders. She gently coaxed him to look at her in the eyes, and when he did, Vanilla told him in a soft tone, "Yes, but I'll be back soon. That I promise you. Will you be a brave boy for me and be strong until I come back? Tails can look after you while I am gone.". She trusted her adoptive son very much as he was more mature for a fox his age, that was very much clear.

Amy spoke up, "Oh, I can look after them and the others while you're gone Vanilla!". This surprised Vanilla, as she believed that the pink hedgehog would only be at the abode for a short time before departing. This also surprised Danny as well.

The mature beauty looked to Amy and inquired, "Are you sure Amy? I mean, do you not have other plans?".

The pink hedgehog smiled and answered back, "Not at all! In fact, been a bit boring for me in doing the same routine of waking up, exercising and going out for some time. And I think it would be good to catch up with Tails and the others. Plus, I get to spend some time with our new friend here!". She looked to Danny and smiled warmly, who smiled back but blushed to a red that was on the level of Knuckles himself.

Vanilla believed it would be better for an older being to look after the little ones, but she did not want to inconvenience Amy. She stated, "Well… I would be gone awhile since it takes some time to reach Angel Island…". Indeed, it would. It would take some hours to reach a port city by regular vehicle, and more so to take a plane that would be able to reach the floating island.

Amy suggested, "Oh, you can take my plane! And also, you don't have to worry about flying it. Some time ago, Tails installed an Auto-Pilot system in it and programmed it to fly automatically to certain locations. Knuckles' home is one of them, and your home too! So you can fly there, and come back here quick!". Tails had installed the system in case Amy was not able to drive the craft herself, and also to go to places that were both familiar and a safe haven.

This was indeed good news for Vanilla, as this meant that she could do her duty to heal Silver & also be back quick to her children and guest. She smiled and bowed to Amy a little, saying in a grateful tone, "Thank you so much for this Amy. I really appreciate it.". This had Amy smile, Danny too as the atmosphere was now very positive.

The pink hedgehog than asked, "How about I tell Tails, Cream and Cheese the news while you get your stuff ready? And Danny, do you want to come with me?". The little human nodded eagerly, wanting to be near Amy more even though he could not fully understood why. All that was going through his head and heart was to stay by the pretty lady as much as possible.

Vanilla nodded, giving the two warm smiles before going to the stairs and up to her room where she would gather her medical tools. Amy offered Danny her left hand, which he took and both walked out of the abode and towards Tails' workshop. The little boy was feeling very much alive with buzzing energy as he held the hand of his puppy-love crush, and it showed on due to the large smile on his face.

When they were outside, Amy knocked on the door of Tails' workshop. After a moment, the door opened and Tails appeared in front of them. He greeted them, "Oh, hey Amy, Daniel! Come on in!". The duo went inside, the two-tailed fox closing the door and following after them.

Amy saw that the instruments were out, but the others seemed to be in thought for the moment. She inquired, "Hey everyone, what's going on here?".

Cream looked to her friend and answered, "Oh, we're trying to figure out which instrument we should play for Mother for her birthday. But… it seems that we're having a bit of trouble.". It showed as Big was scratching his head as he held one of the small flutes in his large right hand, wanting to try it out but his hands were sadly too big to use it properly.

Danny slowly let go of Amy's hand, going over to the instruments to take a better look at them. After some time, he looked to Tails and asked, "Say, can I help? I want to help!".

Tails chuckled and replied, "Of course you can help Danny! The more, the better I say since we do have a lot of instruments to choose from.". He looked to Amy, thanking her for the instruments & also asked on what the situation was.

She told him that Vanilla was going to leave to go to Knuckles' home due to a medical emergency concerning Silver. She added in, "Vanilla won't be home for some time, and perhaps we can use this time to practice.".

Tails looked to her and asked, "We? You want to help out in making the special surprise for Mom?".

Amy grinned and replied, "Of course! She has helped me out in the past, and I would like to repay her by helping you with this little concert you're planning for her! That is why I bought the harp as well! I also plan to stay here, but mostly in town at one of the Inns.".

The two-tailed fox saw that his little surprise for his adoptive mother was growing, but this was a good thing in his view. He smiled as he thought of the wonderful concert that he would play for Vanilla, and the smile on her face would make the effort very much worthwhile.

He spoke once more with vigor, "Okay! Then let's get started! But first, we need to see which instrument works well with us and go from there.".

With a plan set and in motion, the surprise present for Vanilla Rabbit was underway!

So Vanilla is called away to help Silver, and in this case it is a boon for Tails and the others as this will help them to practice. Sure, they have to find which instrument suits them best & also work out a schedule so that Vanilla is kept distracted while they practice. But that is where my friend Author danielman21 comes in!

My friend, I will need your guidance and help with the upcoming chapters. And also, since the music for the surprise will feature classical music first, will need your input on which one to make here.

Now for the questions! Ahem…

Besides the soundproof feature, what other features do you think would be suitable for Tails to install in his workshop & also in the Rabbit home?

What instrument would you like to play if given the chance to help with the musical present?

What do you think of Danny's little puppy-love crush on Amy?

What would you recommend that Vanilla brings to the island to help Silver and his broken arm?

And finally… what schedule should be made so that Tails and the others can practice but also to keep Vanilla occupied so that she does not suspect a thing?
