Lisa woke up to her alarm beeping loudly, she groaned and threw her covers off. Lisa poured her self a cup of coffee and took a sip. She remembered when she was younger, the kitchen would be filled with activity in the morning. Lisa had two sisters, both younger then her. She did a lot of babysitting when her father had to work late. Lisa put her coffee mug in the sink, pulled on her jacket and then walked outside. Jane was riding one of the horses and John was mucking out stalls. Lisa went to her office and called her client to sort out the last minute details about the horse.
Later
Lisa walked into Maggies and sat down on one of the bar stools. She ordered a saled for lunch. Maggie gave Lisa her salad, " How are you," asked Maggie. " I am sorry about your father." " I'm doing ok," said Lisa " Are you going to the town barbecue?" asked Maggie. Lisa had completely forgotten about it. " I don't know, I am really busy" said Lisa. " You have to go! The whole town will be there." " I'll think about it" said Lisa. Lisa heard the door open, Jack and Marion walked in " I'm here to pick up the feed order," said Marion to Maggie. Marion and Maggie went to the back of the store to get the feed and Jack sat down beside Lisa. " Hi Lisa how are you?" asked Jack " I'm good." " Are you going to the barbecue?" asked Jack. Lisa thought for a second then said " yes." Marion walked into the room with the feed. " See you," said Jack, he tipped his hat and then followed Marion out the door.
The barbecue
Lisa parked her car and stepped onto the grassy field. The sky was blue and the sun was shining brightly. Lisa breathed in the fresh air. She had been in her office the entire afternoon. Lisa walked up to Maggie. She had been friends with her for a while. " Hi Maggie." " I'm glad you came," said Maggie. " I needed to get out of my office" said Lisa " Hows Fairfield doing?" " Not too well" " I'm sure everything will work itself out" said Maggie. "I'm sure it will," mumbled Lisa. Maggie went to get some food and Lisa noticed Jack and Marion a couple of yards away. Marion was standing beside a brown haired man who Lisa assumed was her husband. They also had two young kids with them. Lisa walked up to Jack " Hey" he said " Nice to see you."
