*Door Opens and Closes*

"*Sigh*," a downcasted Ruby Rose exits her family's home. She walks to a makeshift playground Yang, and Ruby made some many years ago near there home. Though the only thing still usable was the tire swing since everything else had rotten or rusted over the years of no use. She's happy the tire swing was still usable; it was always her favorite. Ruby smiled, remembering how her sister would push her with all her might, and she would scream with joy going so high up then jump off. She never got hurt from the fall because Yang always caught her saying her famous line, "Don't you worry, Rubes! I'm always gonna be there to catch ya if you fall!" then she would beam the same infectious smile Ruby loved to see. Ruby wished she could go back to those times; everything was much simpler then.

"I take it, she hasn't told you what happened yet?" the sudden voice pulled her out of her thoughts but didn't startle her after all; it was a voice she knew all too well. She turned to see a young man with ocean blue colored eyes and short wavy black hair that was slicked back not neatly but not messy either. He was the same age as her yet much taller, which she still thinks it's unfair given her small size. His outfit was a basic combat uniform that was given by Signal Academy for there students. That consisted of a long-sleeved white shirt with leather added in for increase protection on his left arm and chest with brown thick padded jeans with ugly black combat boots to finish off the set.

"Hey Leo," she said softly, her voice laced with sadness. "No, she hasn't told me anything yet I'm starting to think she probably never will," upon saying that Ruby was gently pulled towards Leo who embraced her. Ruby made no effort to break away; rather, she wrapped her arms around him as well, letting her face sink into his chest.

"It's gonna be okay, Ruby she just needs some time," he said softly.

"I know. It's just I wish there was something I could do for Yang," Leo could feel her small hands clasp strongly that back of his shirt in frustration. He couldn't blame her for feeling that way. It has been a little over a month since the fall of Beacon Academy, the huntsmen/huntress school Yang had attended. When the news had spread of Beacon being overrun by Grimm, Ruby feared the worst for her sister. She wanted to rush to her sister's aid when an SOS was issued, calling all huntsmen and huntresses to assist in repelling the invading Grimm threat in the city of Vale, but was stopped by her father who said she'd only end up getting herself killed if she came. It vexed her to no end that she wasn't able to help save her sister. Fortunately, both her sister and father came back alive, but not without paying a price.

Yang had lost an arm, yet it wasn't by a Grimm as it appeared to have been severed by a blade. Her father and herself tried asking her what had happened, but she only stayed quiet, refusing to look at them. It ached Ruby's heart to see her strong-willed sister look so defeated. She came to her sister's room every day hoping to cheer her up even if it was just a little bit, though nothing she did yielded any results. Yang simply stayed quiet, unmoving like an empty doll. Ruby refused to give up on her sister, so she swiped Yang's phone while she slept, dialing everyone in her contact list, hoping someone could come and talk to her sister. Ruby dialed Yang's team members first starting with her partner Blake then her team leader Amber with Weiss last. To her dismay, none of her teammates answered nor replied to her messages. Ruby didn't want to assume the worst, so she settled with believing they must be going through some stuff as well. The only classmates she's able to get ahold of were three people from a sister team Nora, Ren and, some Yang had labeled as "vomit boy." They agreed to come and try to get Yang to talk to them, which she thanked them many times over the phone and in-person when they arrived.

Yang's friend tried sharing memories of the past like how they met and how they killed a giant nevermore and a deathstalker during initiation. The fantastic food fight they had that Ruby was really jealous she wasn't there to take part in. Trying to stay awake during Professor Ports' boring class that to Ruby didn't sound so bad if all he did was tell cool Grimm stories. Her run-ins with The White Fang and Roman Torchwick that always landed her in detention for a month. All the way to the Vytal Festival Tournament, where Yang was close to being crowned the strongest first year in Beacon. Unfortunately, it didn't work; Yang remained quiet and lifeless. Yang's friends apologized that they weren't able to help, but Ruby thanked them nonetheless. She offered them to stay for the night, but they declined saying they were planning on heading to Haven and wanted to get a head start while the sun was up.

"I hope I'm not interrupting anything," an unfamiliar voice startled both Leo and Ruby making them both quickly let go of one another hiding there blushing faces. Ruby recovered first and turned to see Nora, one of Yang's friends.

"O-oh, heya Nora, didja need something?" Ruby was trying her best to compose herself but was failing, especially with the smug look Nora was giving her like if she had just caught Ruby doing something indecent.

"I just wanted to give you something, but first!" Nora skipped towards Leo, scanning him top to bottom then walked around him, examing him more. Leo looked at Ruby to see if she could shed some light on what was happening, although she was just as confused as him.

"Not bad, Ruby!" after a minute or so, Nora shot Ruby a thumbs up.

"Ahhhhh, thanks?" Ruby awkwardly shuffled a bit, not really sure what she was getting praised for.

"I am a bit surprised, I didn't think you had a thing for bad boys with you looking so innocent and stuff!"

"What!?" Ruby jumped in shock at Nora's bold comment.

"Though I can't really blame you. I mean, aside from his 'I'm gonna kill you' face he's handsome and looks damn strong I mean look at these arms," Nora lifted one of Leo's arms up and rolled down his sleeves revealing thick solid muscles. Ruby wanted to say it's because he's a brawler; that's why he has strong arms, though words wouldn't come out as Nora lifted up Leo's shirt. Showing something Ruby has seen many times, yet it always gets the same steamy crimson faced reaction that Ruby hopped no one aside from Leo would ever see.

"Hehehe, you gotta bad, don't ya?" Ruby quickly pulled her hoodie over her face and turned around she had never felt so embarrassed in her whole life. She blamed stupid puberty for making her feel this way Ruby wished she could go back to when the only thing she found appealing where weapons. Ruby felt a soft pat on her head, "Sorry, sorry, didn't mean to tease ya too much. Here the reason I came to find you," Ruby looked up and saw Nora holding a picture in her hand. It was a picture of Yang's team, along with Nora's. They were all huddled together celebrating that they survived there first year at Beacon. From the picture, Ruby could see that Yang was overjoyed; she even had that same infectious smile she'd come to love. Even her teammates were smiling along with her. Though they all seem to be trying to get the cup away from Yang for some reason.

"We wanted to get drunk that day, so we snuck in a couple bottles of hard liquor into the dorms, and it was a great idea at first, but we didn't realize how much of a drinker Yang was till it was too late. I swear she had more alcohol in her than blood that night," Ruby giggled. Yang always was a party girl. She'd never let other people out drink her.

"Man, we lucked out Blake took care of Yang for us; she gets really fightsy when she's drunk."

"Yeah...She does.."

"..."

"Hey, Nora."

"What's up

"How close where my sister and Blake?"

"How close were they? Hmmm, they were basically attached by the hip. Wherever one would go, the other would follow."

"I see..."

"Nora, you wouldn't happen to know where Blake lives do ya?" Nora's smile faltered a bit, "Sorry, Ruby, I don't know. She always kept to herself most of the time, the only thing I really know about her was that she was a Faunus."

"I see, thanks anyway."

"No worries here, take the picture."

"Are you sure, isn't it important to you?"

"Don't worry about it this is just a copy I got loads more on my scroll wanna see them-"

*ZZZZZZZZ*

Nora's scroll started ringing, which she answered.

"Yellow!"

"Nora, where are you?

"I'm with Ruby, why?"

"What!? Nora, you said you where gonna go to the bathroom real quick!"

"I did and but I got sidetracked."

"Nora, the Bus is gonna leave in the next minute if you don't hurry up!"

"Don't you worry, fearless leader I'm on my way!" Nora then ended the call.

"Looks like I gotta go cya later, Ruby!" Nora quickly zoomed off but stopped a few feet away.

"Hey, before I forgot, I gotta tell you something!" Nora yelled with a grin on her face.

"What!" Ruby yelled back.

"Make sure to use protection at all times!" with a final wave, she zoomed off like the wind leaving a blushing Ruby who was cursing her name in vain.

"Well, she was quite the character, wasn't she?" Leo said

"Yeah, she really was," Ruby sighed; she felt exhausted. She wondered how her sister was able to put up Nora for 2 whole years. She could barely do it for 10 minutes.

"Though she did hit the bullseye on something," Ruby looked up at Leo, wondering what he meant."

"You do have a thing for bad boys," he said with a grin similar to Nora's, making Ruby blush again."

"Quiet you," Ruby light punched Leo on the arm,

"Owwww, that really hurt this is my important arm," he said, comically rubbing his arm like if it was really in pain. Ruby rolled her eyes at his horrible acting.

"Awwwww, I'm sorry I hurt your very important arm. What makes it so important, anyway?" Leo smiled turned towards Ruby.

"It's important because I can do this," he smoothly tilted her chin up with his hand stealing a kiss from the young girl who looked like she was turned to stone.

"Now come on, let's go to Aunt Maple's bakery. They have a new batch of cookies imported from Atlast lets go see how good Atlast cookies are," without missing a beat, he slipped his hand into hers and pulled a gushing crimson Ruby mumbling curse words about puberty being unfair and whatnot.
