Occupation of Kyushu

In the Viceroy Palace of Area 11, Cornelia was sitting on her throne within the throne room and she was informed about the events of Kamine Island by Darlton and was surprised to hear about Jeremiah.

"Gottwald?" Cornelia asked, "Are Castor and Pollux really saying that?"

"Yes, although it's speculation on their part," Darlton said, "Gottwald ignored orders, that's a fact but as for the reason… well we know that Gottwald was obsessed in taking down Zero before so it may be that's why he went after them. That is what Prince Schneizel and Princess Marrybell are saying."

Cornelia sighed, "It's just one after another. Adding the fact that most of the Elevens are making noise just because Zero and Void exposed Kururugi of killing his own father," Cornelia scoffed, "there's no point of them getting upset over it. It's all in the past, over and done with and besides, it seems that even as a child, Suzaku Kururugi understood the situation and did Britannia a favor. Even if he hadn't killed the Prime Minister, we still would have been victorious in the end. Well it will eventually die down and the Elevens will just forget. Nothing will change."

"…If you say so," Darlton said.

"Hmm, is something wrong Darlton?" Cornelia asked.

"No, it's nothing," Darlton said.

"Still it makes it hard to nail the lid on Ishikawa," Cornelia said.

"Your Highness!" Guilford spoke as he rushed over in a hurry.

"What now Guilford?" Cornelia drawled.

"The enemy has destroyed the Great Kamon Bridge in Kyushu Block," Guilford reported.

"What?" Cornelia responded as she and Darlton were shocked.

"They have also cut off vehicle access and four other points," Guilford continued, "and large numbers of assault landing crafts are moving into the Genkai Sea."

"The Chinese Federation?" Cornelia replied, "But have they made a declaration of war?"

"No Your Highness," Guilford replied, "the crafters are bearing the flags of Japan."

Pendragon Imperial Palace, Pendragon, Holy Britannian Empire

In the lounge belonging to the Knights of the Round, Monica Krushevsky, the Knight of Twelve was sitting on a couch looking through a picture album. She slowly turned the page and sighed.

"They were the good old days," Monica said.

The door opened and came in a tall blonde boy and it was Gino Weinberg, the Knight of Three.

"Oh Monica, didn't know you were still here," Gino said.

Monica looked and saw Gino.

"Ah Gino," Monica said.

"Oh, what are you looking at?" Gino asked with curiosity.

"Oh this?" Monica replied and looked at the album, "Just looking at pictures and reminiscing on the past."

Gino looked and was surprised to see the pictures and had a sympathetic expression.

"Ah, I see," Gino said.

The pictures that Monica and Gino were looking at were pictures of Lelouch and Nunnally living happily in the Aries Villa.

"It's been seven years," Gino said.

"Yes," Monica said and had a sad expression, "it's terrible what happened to them," Monica shook her head, "If I had known that it was going to happen. If I had known that Prince Lelouch was going to…"

Monica sighed sadly.

"I don't think there was anything you could have done," Gino said sadly.

"I'm sure I've could have—" Monica spoke.

"No, you couldn't," Gino interrupted, "this is Lelouch we're talking about. When he makes up his mind on something, he goes through with it and no one can convince him otherwise."

"But what good did that do him?" Monica asked upset, "Surely he knew how His Majesty would react and then for him and Princess Nunnally to be killed off a year later… by those people in Area 11."

"But didn't you hear though?" Gino asked, "There have been rumors that Lelouch and Nunnally are actually alive. I believe that's why Nonette is in Area 11 right now."

Monica just looked at Gino and then back to the album and wondered as she looked at the picture of the then nine-year-old Lelouch.

"Lelouch, are you and Nunnally really alive?" Monica asked in her head.

Fukuoka Base, Kyushu Block, Area 11 (Japan)

There was a rainstorm and in the base, a slim man in a suit stood in front of Gung Ru Knightmare Frames and it was Atsushi Sawasaki who led the invasion and occupation of Kyushu.

"We hereby declare the resurrection of Japan as a lawful independent and sovereign nation!" Sawasaki declared loudly.

Black Knights' Mobile Base

Many core members of the Black Knights along with Kaguya were watching the news on the large television about the Kyushu being occupied by forces led by Sawasaki.

"Atsushi Sawasaki, the leader of the forces that have occupied the Fukuoka Military Base was chief cabinet minister of the Kururugi Administration in the former nation of Japan," The male news reported stated, "After the war, he fled to the Chinese Federation but is apparently making his move now in response to the recent civil unrest caused by Zero and the Black Knights. Whether the Black Knights have played a part in these unfolding events is still under investigation."

"We're not involved in this!" Tamaki said irritated that they were being named as being involved in some way with Sawasaki.

"Kaguya, what about the others leaders of House Kyoto?" Nunnally asked.

"They didn't know this was happening," Kaguya said, "they were just informed of his unilateral claim to the Sakuradite mining rights."

"I see," Nunnally said.

"Lelouch, it's our move," Kallen said, "what's the plan?"

The other looked at Lelouch and Lelouch pondered and then nodded.

Area 11 Viceroy Palace

Jeremiah was sitting in an interrogation room with Marrybell and a few guards. Marrybell sighed as Jeremiah just calmly looked down.

"Jeremiah, please tell me why you ignored my brothers' orders," Marrybell said.

Jeremiah was silent.

"You must have had a reason," Marrybell continued, "Surely you weren't really trying to actually help Zero."

"Does it matter?" Jeremiah responded and then he looked at Marrybell, "What I say is pointless. You decide what you think."

"Jeremiah, why are you being stubborn about this?" Marrybell asked with concern, "I've heard how you've acted strangely and how impulsive you've been, especially when it comes to Zero. Talk to me Jeremiah, what is going on?"

"I won't," Jeremiah said in his head, "I won't betray my prince and princess, no matter the consequences that will befall on me for what I've done. This is proof of my loyalty."

Marrybell didn't like that Jeremiah was still being silent.

"Let me guess," Marrybell said, "you would rather talk to my sister Euphemia, is that it?"

In the air over Area 11

The Avalon was flying in the air and in the bridge, Lloyd was watching the news regarding the occupation of Kyushu and Cecile entered and walked and then she stood behind Lloyd.

"Sawasaki's group is working in conjunction with the terrorist organization in Kyushu," A female news reporter stated, "After cutting off vehicle access from Honshu and Shikoku and with support from Chinese Federation's Liaodong military district, they're expanding their occupation through Fukuoka, Nagasaki, and Oita. According to General Tsao, the Chinese Federation is providing humanitarian support and is not acting…"

"So, how is Suzaku doing?" Lloyd asked.

"He assures he'll do whatever the mission requires," Cecile replied.

"I see…" Lloyd said.

"And Prince Schneizel and the others, where are they?" Cecile asked.

"Back in the Tokyo Settlement," Lloyd answered, "the next thing that follows after Jeremiah disobeyed orders is this, right? Avalon's commander isn't around, but we have to clear this obstacle if we're ever to counter Rakshata's Gefjun Disturber."

In the Knightmare Hanger within the Avalon, the Lancelot stood and Suzaku was sitting and looking at his father's pocket watch with a sad expression.

Flashback: An Hour Earlier, Viceroy Palace

In Euphie's office, Suzaku in his uniform brought out his badge signifying as Euphie's knight.

"I'm not qualified to be your knight," Suzaku said.

"Suzaku, if this is about what happened when Zero escaped from your grasps then you shouldn't worry about it," Euphie assured, "honestly, I'm glad that it failed because you still live. Don't let what Fayer and Jarvis said get to you."

"That's not it Your Highness and forgive me for being blunt but you know that it's not the case," Suzaku said.

"It's about… you killing your father and Zero and Void exposing the truth," Euphie said, "now the whole world knows."

"Yes," Suzaku said sadly, "honestly, I've should have seen this coming. I've should have known this would happen when Zero and Void called me out on it back on Shikine Island."

"Suzaku…" Euphie said with sadness.

"I was never punished for what I did," Suzaku said sadly, "I just went on like it was nothing. I was a fool. I was fool to think the truth of what I did would stay hidden even though all the adults around me protected me for it and now…" Suzaku was started to shake in sadness, "I'm hated, I'm hated by my own people. I hear what other Elevens refer to me as… power-hungry traitor, father-killer, slayer of his own kin… I've been accused of killing my father just to get in good graces with Britannia."

Suzaku clenched his teeth as he was still sad.

"I wonder if I should even go on living even with my shame," Suzaku said.

"Suzaku," Euphie said feeling sad for Suzaku.

"I should have told you," Suzaku said.

"Huh?" Euphie replied.

"I've should have been honest with you," Suzaku said, "I should have told you the truth of what really happened to my father."

"It's probably not that simple," Euphie said, "it's obvious what happened still haunts you and you're filled with regret so I don't think you should…"

Suzaku shook his head and sighed sadly, "Someone like me isn't fit to be your knight."

Suzaku handed Euphie back the badge of his knighthood.

"Suzaku, you don't have to do this," Euphie said.

"I'm sorry Euphie," Suzaku said.

Flashback End: Viceroy Palace's Knightmare Hanger

Euphie looked at the badge she was holding and held on to it with sadness.

"Suzaku," Euphie said, "I'm sorry too…"

Kyushu

Cornelia's forces fight against the Chinese forces it is rainstorm is heavy and has given Cornelia's forces a disadvantages. Missiles are shot and they struck and destroyed Portman Knightmare Frames that were underwater. The storm has prevented Britannian forces to strike against the forces led by Sawasaki. In one of landing crafts, Cornelia looks on with her knight Guilford and Cornelia was upset she was not making any progress.

"Your Highness, we're taking too much hits and losses," Guilford said, "with this tempest, we're unable to take up in the air. We need to delay the landing operation until the weather changes."

Cornelia clenched her teeth in response as she was frustrated. Meanwhile in the base that was occupied by Sawasaki and General Tsao, both men were pleased with what was going on.

"It's fortunate that this storm hit," Tsao said, "we must take advantage and tighten our grip on Kyushu."

"You see General Tsao, the heavens are on our side," Sawasaki said with confidence, "we're going to win this campaign with ease."

Viceroy Palace, Tokyo Settlement

Schneizel was discussing things with Darlton and staff officers and Kanon was with him in Cornelia's office.

"Martial law is not necessary," Schneizel said, "such measures would only upset and frightening people. Contact EU Foreign Minister Gandolphi, oh and put a call to the Totomo Agency in Cambodia."

"Prince Schneizel," Darlton spoke, "using the Totomo Agency could lead to—"

Darlton cut himself off when the door suddenly opened and Euphie entered.

"Prime Minister," Euphie said.

"Yes Euphie," Schneizel responded, "Is something wrong?"

"Is there anything I can do to help?" Euphie asked, "I am the Sub-Viceroy of Area 11 after all so I should be assisting you."

Schneizel and Kanon smiled at Euphie's willingness to assist.

"Thank you, just your offer to help is more than enough," Schneizel said with a warm smile.

"But I…" Euphie responded insisting in wanting to help.

"The Viceroy gave strict orders that you are not to be entangled in this matter Princess Euphemia," Darlton informed.

"She did?" Euphie replied with worry, "But why? Just because I chose my knight that she didn't approve of, is that it?"

"Oh no, that's not it at all," Darlton assured, "I believe in the matter with Major Kururugi—"

"Princess Euphemia," Kanon interjected, "it's just that Princess Cornelia can't take any chances right now."

"Yes, the situation is too treacherous," Schneizel said.

"Wait, do you mean…?" Euphie spoke surprised.

Schneizel turned to Darlton, "Darlton, regarding the matter we were discussing before, I know someone who has a way in with them so I'll ask them for help."

"Yes Your Highness," Darlton responded with a nod.

Ashford Academy

In the Student Council Room, Milly, Shirley, Rivalz, and Nina were doing some work as they were preparing for their annual School Festival but with the current events that were going on and four of their members being absent, things seemed bleak for them at the moment.

"After all our hard work of getting ready, it seems that they're going to cancel the school festival," Shirley said.

"It really can't be helped considering we're at war," Rivalz said.

"Wait, did you say war?" Nina asked.

"They're using this government-in-exile as a smokescreen but this is a war with the Chinese Federation," Rivalz explained.

"Oh I see," Nina replied.

"Nina, what about the booth we were planning to burrow from the art museum?" Milly asked.

"Oh right, I'm going there today," Nina replied and then she smiled, "If I have time, I would like drop in to the Science Department."

"Are you talking about that present of yours?" Milly asked.

"Huh, present?" Rivalz asked curiously.

"What present exactly?" Shirley asked curiously.

Nina blushed, "Well, Professor Asplund said I should ask him if there was something special that I wanted."

"You mean Lloyd?!" Rivalz reacted upset, "That philandering playboy!"

"All right, that's enough," Milly responded and turned to Rivalz, "How about you getting some work done?"

"That's easy for you to say," Rivalz replied, "this is work for three people. Suzaku's in the army, Kallen's in the hospital, and those two other fools are nowhere to be seen," Rivalz sighed, "no one seems to know where Lelouch and Rai are, Nunnally and Alice seem to be gone too along with Sayoko," Rivalz shook his head, "something weird is going on. No way is this all a coincidence."

Milly and Shirley looked away and had their thoughts as they knew exactly what was going. An hour later, Milly and Shirley were on the roof of one of the building and were looking at the campus.

"What do you think is going to happen?" Shirley asked.

"Don't know," Milly said, "it seems that a lot happened when they were at Kamine Island?"

"Is that the place where you, Lulu, and Nunna found Rai?" Shirley asked.

"Yeah, Rai lost his memories," Milly said.

"Maybe Rai remembered something when he was there," Shirley said with a sympathetic expression, "I feel bad for him not being able to remember his past."

Milly looked at Shirley and smiled thinking that Shirley was just so kind.

"Anyway Shirley, we better hurry," Milly said, "Lelouch is finally going to let us take part in the next thing."

"Yeah, I'm ready to help Lulu and Nunna," Shirley said feeling fired up.

"We better hurry, there's not much time," Milly said, "we'll have to read up on the specs of that thing that Lelouch got."

"I'm amazed that they were able to take it from them," Shirley said.

Milly chuckled, "Yeah no kidding."

The Avalon

In the Knightmare Hanger within the airship the float unit for the Lancelot was carefully being fitted on the seventh generation Knightmare Frame and Cecile was overseeing the process while was in the cockpit of the Lancelot.

"That's really amazing," Cecile said proudly, "you got a perfect rating on the float simulation."

"Thank you," Suzaku responded.

"Say Suzaku?" Cecile spoke.

"Yes Miss Cecile?" Suzaku responded.

"Tell me, why did you resign as Princess Euphemia's knight?" Cecile asked.

In the cockpit of the Lancelot, Suzaku had a sad smile.

"Well that's because," Suzaku replied, "I felt the need to."

"But why?" Cecile asked, "Does it have to do with… um, well… no, maybe I shouldn't ask."

"No, it's okay," Suzaku assured, "it's really not something to be ignored," Suzaku sighed, "You know the thing is Princess Euphemia… she still approves of me even now… even with knowing what I've done. She really is kind, so kind to even a murderer like me."

"Suzaku," Cecile said sadly.

"That's why I couldn't continue on because I might have cause dishonor to her," Suzaku reasoned, "and even if not, if I continued and brought her dishonor or shame, then I'm afraid that she may hate herself for it and I just can't bear it. Now with what has happened with what I did to my father coming to light, I just don't want her to suffer because of me even if she says that it wouldn't be a problem for her."

Imperial Museum of Art

Euphie was standing looking at the painting that she named as the prize winner, The Village. She looked around and saw other paintings.

"A figurehead," Euphie said in her head, "That's something that I never wanted to be. I want to do more and not just blindly accept things and so I figured that I could make some difference. It's such a disgrace that things haven't worked out as I wanted. I wonder… how would Clovis feel and react if he knew what I know now," Euphie shook her head," he wouldn't understand… that sadly is how he would react. I have to think of some way to somehow to maybe help them, find a way to help Lelouch and Nunnally, but how? I don't have the kind of power that my sister has. I'm not like her or Schneizel. I resent how things are for me right now and maybe I am still so naive. I would have thought things would have been excellent, a better path paved when I chose Suzaku as my knight," Euphie sighed sadly, "but now he's resigned."

"Sister," A female voice said.

Euphie turned around and saw Marrybell who was walking towards her.

"Marry," Euphie said.

Euphie and Marrybell stood next to each other looking at the paintings.

"I heard that Kururugi resigned as your knight," Marrybell said.

"Yes," Euphie said sadly.

"I suppose that it was bound to happen considering what has happened," Marrybell said.

"Where are Castor and Pollux?" Euphie asked.

"With Bartley and Jarvis doing some work," Marrybell said, "work for Schneizel… something that has to do with cybernetics."

"Cybernetics?" Euphie asked curiously.

"Yes, although I don't know much of it," Marrybell said, "Schneizel wouldn't tell me about it. Oh, where is Nonette?"

"At the government bureau," Euphie said with a frown.

Marrybell observed Euphie's expression, "I take it you're still mad at Nonette."

"Go ahead say it," Euphie said, "I'm being childish. That's what Castor, Pollux, and Cornelia has been telling me about how I reacted with what Nonette did on Kamine Island."

"Actually, I agree with you," Marrybell said.

"Really?" Euphie replied a bit surprised.

"Are you really surprised?" Marrybell replied back.

"Well, yes…" Euphie said.

"You've actually spent time with Zero," Marrybell said.

"Yes," Euphie said, "he… looked out for me."

"I got to say, I'm really shocked," Marrybell said.

Euphie smiled, "Yes…"

Meanwhile outside of the museum, Nina was talking to one of the guards.

"Oh yeah, they told me about you," The guard said, "You need the documents signed today, right? But two members of the imperial family are viewing the art right now."

"Two members of the imperial family?" Nina replied surprised, "Um, may I ask which ones?"

Base of House Kyoto

Kaguya was meeting with the other members of House Kyoto.

"Hold on," Kubouin said, "so the Black Knights are…"

"Yes, the Black Knights will not be joining with Atsushi Sawasaki," Kaguya informed, "he's not independence. He's a puppet to the Chinese Federation."

"Yes, figured as much," Kirihara said.

"Sadly that's obvious," Osakabe said.

"Wait, isn't that a just a bit short-sighted on their part?" Munakata asked.

"It is," Kubouin said, "Sawasaki says he's fighting for Japan."

"It'll be no different with how things are now for Japan," Kaguya said, "the two differences is that one, Japan will be called by its proper name as well as its people however it is not true independence as Japan will actually be controlled by the Chinese Federation. "

"So there you go, it'll be no different from Britannia's occupation," Kirihara said.

"That's exactly it," Kaguya said with a nod. "The simple fact is that Sawasaki's independence of Japan is nothing but a sham."

"Okay, so what are they going to do in this situation?" Yoshino asked.

"Are they just going to simply ignore him and actually let Britannia deal with him?" Osakabe asked.

Kaguya looked at the old men and then she smiled.

"I wouldn't say they will ignore," Kaguya said.

Imperial Museum of Art

A limo with a chauffeur driving it as it was making its way out and in the limo were Euphie and Marrybell. The gate opened for the limo and someone rushed over to get attention of one the princesses and it was Nina.

"Princess Euphemia!" Nina said loudly.

"Hey you!" One of museum guard spoke as he rushed and grabbed Nina's arm to restrain her.

In the limo, Euphie and Marrybell looked over and wondered what was going on. The limo stopped and the two imperial princesses witnessed the guards restraining someone on the ground. One of the guards spoke in his walkie-talkie to explain the situation. Nina loudly pleaded to be let go as she just wanted to talk to Princess Euphemia or at least just look at her. In the limo, Euphie and Marrybell looked and then when Euphie looked and got a close look, she recognized Nina from the hotel jacking back in Kawaguchi. Marrybell saw Nina and was surprised as well but for a different reason. Nina was pinned on the ground crying as one of the guards held her down on the ground.

"Wait!" Euphie called out.

The guards and Nina and saw Euphie and Marrybell come out of the limo much to their surprise.

"Just hold on," Euphie said, "I actually met this girl before."

The guards were surprised and Nina looked up and was surprised as well and thought she was saved.

"Princess Euphemia?" One of the guards spoke.

Euphie looked at Nina.

"It's Nina, right?" Euphie asked with a smile.

"Yes, yes I'm Nina," Nina replied happily, "you really remember me."

"Of course I do," Euphie replied.

"Hold on for a moment," Marrybell said.

"Marry?" Euphie asked.

Marrybell walked and then stopped as she got close to the guard holding Nina down. Marrybell bent her knees and looked at Nina.

"You," Marrybell said to Nina.

"Uh, y-yes?" Nina responded.

"I was just wondering," Marrybell said, "would you happen to be related to Natalie Einstein?"

Nina was shocked when she heard that name and looked at Marrybell while Euphie looked on confused.

Kyushu

The sky was clearing up and in one of the carriers, Cornelia and Guilford looked on.

"Good, it's cleared up," Cornelia said.

"Now we can resume the landing operation," Guilford said, "and we'll try to put Prince Schneizel's plan in action.

"You think the ASEEC can break through their line?" Cornelia asked.

"With Kururugi, it's possible," Guilford said.

"Hmph, it can also mean trouble as well," Cornelia said, "especially with his, well… baggage."

"But still there's no commander on the Avalon," Guilford pointed out, "it's a matter of arsenal."

Avalon

In the bridge, they were getting signatures of a missile shown on the large monitor.

"Incoming missile," An operator said, "Launch point seems to be Fukuoka Base. One minute and five seconds to impact."

"Not bad, they're well prepared," Lloyd said, "they're well prepared for air raids as well."

In the Knightmare Hanger, the Lancelot was almost ready to be launched and in the cockpit of the Lancelot, Suzaku was prepared.

"Will we be sending out a barrage?" Suzaku asked.

"We'll be fine in this position," Cecile said.

Outside, a barrage of missiles made their way to the Avalon and struck on impact on the aircraft.

Fukuoka Base

Sawasaki and Tsao looked on along with the soldiers under their command.

"Direct hit confirmed," One of their operators said, "The enemy aircraft Avalon is destroyed."

"Hmph, even if it is state of the art, a single ship can't possibly hurt us," Sawasaki said with confidence."

The people in the base looked and were surprised in what they saw.

"What the…?" Sawasaki said surprised.

What they saw was the Avalon was still moving and was not damaged as they had the shields activated.

Avalon

"We've proved the system was practical with the Lancelot after all," Lloyd said pleased.

Cecile was looking at the screen and gave Suzaku instructions.

"Major Kururugi, I'm laying out the final mission plan for verification," Cecile said, "This ship will breach the enemy's front line at high altitude and move directly to your launching point. The advance weapon system Z01 Lancelot using the float unit will attack the enemy headquarters at the Fukuoka Base. The float unit consumes energy fast so pay attention to your operational time."

"Yes, my lord," Suzaku said as he pressed the button and had the Knightmare in a position which was ready to be launch with the Avalon's hatch opened up and the ramp extended, "ME Boost."

"Lancelot unit," Cecile said, "now launching!"

"Launch!" Suzaku said.

The Lancelot launched from the long ramp and was in the air. The float unit activated and the Lancelot drew its VARIS.

Fukuoka Base

"The enemy ship seems to have launched a bomber but its moving faster than a fighter jet," One of the operators said.

"I have visual," Another operator said.

The visual was showed and they saw the Lancelot flying in the air. They were surprised in what they were seeing and they spoke among themselves in what they were seeing.

"A Knightmare?" Sawasaki spoke.

"But it's not being transported," Tsao said, "it's just flying on its own."

"That weapons report we got," Sawasaki said as he realized, "could this be it?"

"You mean the one called the Lancelot?" Tsao asked as he realized as well.

"Then the pilot is…" Sawasaki said and then he frowned, "I see now. Yes, this is the perfect opportunity."

"Oh," Tsao said as he looked at Sawasaki, "you're referring to what was revealed by the leaders of the Black Knights."

"Yes," Sawasaki said as he brought up his right fist and clenched it, "the people will sure to thank me when I avenge Prime Minister Kururugi's murder."

Cockpit of the Lancelot

Suzaku looked on ready to put an end of battle in Kyushu.

Avalon

"The military forces occupying the Kyushu Block is fighting under Atsushi Sawasaki," Lloyd said, "if they lose him, the new Japanese government will collapse very quickly. With that, the Chinese Federation will lose their excuse of being here and will have to withdraw."

Outside in the Sky

Missiles are fired at the Lancelot and the Lancelot dodged every one of them. The Lancelot then fired Slash Harkens at the air gunships and took them down one by one. In the cockpit of the Lancelot, Suzaku looked and nodded as he was seeing the headquarters of the forces that occupied Kyushu.

"There it is," Suzaku said, "the enemy headquarters."

Suzaku used his Knightmare's shield to block enemy fired and then he countered with a Slash Harken which took down another air gunship.

There was a sudden beeping sound and Suzaku was surprised.

"An open channel?" Suzaku spoke.

Suzaku looked at his monitor and saw Sawasaki.

"This is Minister Sawasaki," Sawasaki contacted, "is that Prime Minister Kururugi's son in the pilot seat?"

Suzaku stiffed up a bit as he looked at Sawasaki.

"Sawasaki," Suzaku said.

"Well well," Sawasaki said, "it is you, Suzaku Kururugi, Genbu Kururugi's son… as well as his murderer."

Suzaku flinched and had a sad expression when Sawasaki said the last with a venomous tone.

"To think you would come to me," Sawasaki said, "no doubt you intend to defeat me and prevent Japan to be free due to your own selfishness."

"What you're doing is wrong," Suzaku said, "this isn't the way for the sake of Japan."

"You who murdered your own father in cold blood dare lecture me?" Sawasaki responded angrily, "Hmph, no matter for I will take this opportunity."

"Opportunity?" Suzaku asked.

"Yes, I will take the chance to avenge your father's wrongful death," Sawasaki declared, "and when that happens, none of our fellow Japanese will mourn for you. As far as I and any other Japanese person is concern, you're a traitor. You were a traitor when you killed your father and continue to be a traitor when joined the military of the country that oppresses Japan. When you die, you'll be nothing more than a bad memory."

Suzaku clenched his teeth in frustration.

"It's because of Zero and Void," Suzaku said in his head, "because of them…"

Black Knights' Submarine

In the Knightmare Hanger, Lelouch looked at his Lionel and then he looked over at the Gawain.

"All conditions are clear," Lelouch said, "it's time stop Sawasaki."

"Indeed," Nunnally said as she walked and stopped standing next to Lelouch, "they made it Lelouch and they are ready."

"Good," Lelouch said with a nod, "it's time we make our move."

"Yes, protecting the nation," Nunnally said, "that is our priority."

"We won't allow the Chinese Federation to take over," Lelouch said, "anyway, let's bring them over."

"Right," Nunnally said with a nod.

Viceroy Palace

In a room, Nonette was sitting on a couch and she thought about what had occurred on Kamine Island.

"Things didn't go as I planned," Nonette said with a frown, "I need to report to the emperor and hoo boy, I know he's going to question me for my lack of reporting in," Nonette sighed, "Lelouch… Nunnally… JJ… why couldn't they understand? I was trying to help them and they threw it back in my face."

Not long afterwards, Nonette sat in front of a computer and had it switched on showing the emperor who scowled at his Knight of Nine.

"Nonette, you finally decided to report in," Charles said, "so let's hear it. I'll hear your pathetic excuses as why you haven't reported in."

Nonette bit her lower lip and clenched his fists she had on her legs.

That's it for this chapter. Next chapter: Suzaku takes on the occupational forces in Kyushu and eventually Knightmares of the Black Knights intervene.
