i know there isn't a lot of action at the moment, but it's coming I assure you, the "new" extended family just has to talk through everything first. So without further adu, let's see if we can find out some more details as to what's going on & how it all began!
Patrik hung up his phone as he saw a handful of cars pull up "Keegan" he greeted as he saw some of their family alight from the cars.
"What's this about Patrik?" Keegan asked "code black, really? Is the situation that serious?" it had been years, a lot of years since they'd had something happen to warrant a code black.
"I'm afraid so" Patrik admitted "I need you to get everyone situated inside & upstairs, and get the jet ready just in case" he saw some of his grandkids, great nieces and nephews all approach "upstairs all of you, keep quiet while going in & remember to mind the far left rooms"
"Can we watch TV?" came one query from a 10-year-old
"Can we have something to eat?" came a query from a 14-year-old
"Can't we visit Nana Siobhan?" came a small voice of a 5-year-old.
Patrik had to smile "yes you can watch TV, your parents will organise food but no, there's no visiting Nana Siobhan just at the moment, maybe a little later darling"
Keegan saw some pouts & smiles as the group headed inside "so? What's the story?" he asked as another of their nephews arrive, he nodded in greeting "Connor"
"Keegan, Patrik, code black? What's going on?" Connor asked, it had been an extremely long time since that had been used.
Patrik took a breath "We've had some unexpected visitors turn up & they…" but he stopped, the group of vehicles Liam took had just arrived back, and he saw them all start to alight.
Keegan saw his cousin stop mid-sentence & wasn't sure why, he saw Liam get out of an SUV & his eyes widened, he was kitted out in his full police gear, what on earth? Then he saw some of his nephews all get out of other SUV's in similar gear, he was really getting concerned. But seeing a fair number of people he didn't recognise all in similar gear, now this was concerning "Patrik?" he prodded concerned. He saw Connor was in a similar state of unease.
"It's a relative of our unexpected visitors" Patrik answered, but he then saw her disembark & take a few steps closer and he couldn't help but stare… oh my!
Kelly got out of the car, the ride over had been extremely strange, everyone, Tim, Myles, Tim, Harry had been off balance, even Franks seemed to be weirded out. They all seemed to be a state of stunned silence, it was really weird. She surveyed the place & not only was it massive, but there were people & vehicles everywhere, she started to walk towards the main building, noticing that Tim, Myles, Harry & even Ted were all keeping close. This was where her parents were? This massive estate? Wow! She saw 3 men standing on the stairs, 2 looked to be in their late 60's, but extremely fit for their ages, the 3rd man looked to be in his 50's, they all seemed to have similar sandy-brown hair & eyes, all were between 5"9 & 6"3 she guessed. She saw the middle man step forward.
Patrik stepped forward looking squarely at his great-niece "you must be Kelly, your parents are inside, I'm Patrik, this is Keegan & Connor" he smiled at the girl, he wasn't sure what she knew, so he wouldn't be the one to explain connections, but he wanted to be welcoming.
"Hello" Kelly replied, she could see the man, Patrik was a little off, well she wasn't sure how he looked, but he wasn't all ok.
Patrik was still surprised at her, but smiled at her reply, he turned his attention to the men surrounding the girl, he was glad she had a security net around her "thank you gentlemen for bringing Kelly, I'm glad you're all here safe & sound. I assure you this estate has been secured"
Ted shared a look with everyone, were these men more of Kelly's family? He saw Liam go to greet Keegan & Connor so he presumed so. He was none the less glad to hear that the place was secure "glad to hear it."
"Please come inside, your parents are waiting for you" Patrik smiled, he wondered though how his siblings would react to seeing her.
Ted waited for Kelly, Tim & Harry to all start to move before he looked to Myles "get your guys to stay out here yea?"
Myles nodded in agreement "yeap" he looked to his Sargent "stay out here & add to their security net" he ordered before following the others inside.
Shannon couldn't believe it, the McLowry's & Paddington's were related? She was truly related to Tony? Her mind was having a hard time taking it all in! She just didn't know what any of this meant as to why her son was kidnapped! She was about to ask Niall a question when the door opened "Kelly" she breathed, truth be told, she was glad their girl was back with them, not having her within arms reach wasn't sitting well with her. With their boy missing, not having their girl near wasn't easy.
Gibbs breathed a sigh of relief "Kell" he saw that his relief was shared with his wife, they were both glad to have her back within their arms reach. He approached her stretching his arm out to bring her into his hold "hey angel, how are you feeling?"
"Darling, you ok?" Shannon asked as she too took hold of her.
Kelly was relieved to be back with her parents "I'm ok" she breathed "who's place is this?" she wondered
Gibbs shared a look with his wife, well.. he wasn't exactly sure who's place it was, but here goes nothing "well, this is.."
"…this is a home that belongs to McLowry family darling" Shannon finished.
Kelly's eyes widened, she was at the home of her grandfather? "really?"
"Really" Patrik commented from behind Kelly "this is the ancestral home of the McLowry clan, dating back over 8 generations" he finished as he came into the room with Keegan, Connor as well as Ted, Tim, Harry, Myles, Franks & Pride. Right as he finished speaking he felt his phone vibrate, it was a message which he checked before looking towards his brother "plane's landed, he's on the way"
Niall nodded in understanding as he stepped forward, he wanted to get a look at his great niece. He closed the gap & moved to the side of Shannon & took her in, his eyes widened as he looked at her before flashing a look to his brother, he again couldn't believe what was before his eyes.
Shannon saw Niall had come closer, she took a breath "Kelly darling, this is Niall, he's your…. your great uncle" she finally finished.
Kelly's eyes widened, she was looking at her great uncle? She had a great uncle? "hi" she croaked out.
"It is a great pleasure to meet you" Niall smiled "my brother Patrik here was the one who let you in, and this my sister Angela & our cousin Rose, other great uncles & aunts of yours" he said as he motioned to the relevant people in the room.
Kelly was already surprised, but wait, she had more than 1? She had 2 great uncles and aunts?
Rose could see the young girl seemed a little overwhelmed, she just smiled in greeting. She looked around, the room was definitely filling up there were so many people here & she knew there'd be more to come "Connor, we need some more chairs"
"Right" Connor nodded, he looked towards a few of the people that had entered with Kelly "could a few of you come & help me bring some chairs in please"
"Sure" Pride nodded for the group, as he & a few others headed out to help bring in the required chairs.
Patricia paced, this was infuriating! Couldn't they just get to the point? "I'm sorry but these pleasantries are all well & good, but I'd like to know what is going on, who has my family & how on earth you plan to get them back!" she vented to the room at large, but mainly Niall.
Niall closed the gap "I can understand your frustration Patricia, but I need to ask you to be just a little more patient, there's one more piece of the puzzle that is on the way before we go any further, he'll be here soon & things will make a lot more sense if we can all discuss this together, just a few more minutes please"
"Alright Niall, what's this about? Code black, really? This better be good, I was on my way to New Y…."
Tim's head had turned at the new voice, but saw the man had stopped mid-sentence. The man who stood at just over 6ft, dark hair, slim & solid build, he was guessing the guy was in his late 60's. He could see he had stopped due to pure shock at the room's scene, he wondered who this person was?
Tony's eyes had darted to the door as soon as he heard the voice, and they widened in shock "un…cl…e….. Je….ff…re….y" he stuttered
Niall flashed a look between the pair, he wasn't sure how this would go.
"Anthony?" Jeffrey stuttered, what on earth was he doing he here? He looked back towards the reason he had stopped mid-sentence in the first place "Patty?" he let out in barely a whisper.
"I'm sorry, but I don't know you" Patricia whispered.
Angela approached her cousin "Jeffrey, this isn't your Patricia" she said softly as she put a calming hand on his arm "this is Patricia Marie Kaplan, your niece. Patty's daughter, Anthony's sister"
Jeffrey flashed a look to his cousin "daughter? That's….. that's not possible" he studied the woman in front of him, she looked just like his sister. He brought his hand up to her cheek "Patty" he whispered as he stroked her cheek.
Tony could tell his sister was uncomfortable, but was in a statue like state. He cleared his throat to try to divert the attention of the man, though to know his sister looked so much like his mother was a comfort.
Jeffrey heard a noise & shift his gaze back to someone he'd rarely seen "Anthony" he greeted again, the young man was standing next to his cousin "Niall? An explanation perhaps? Because as far as I was aware Patty had only one child, and he's standing next to you & I'm pretty sure I'd know if she'd had any others"
"Not if it was hidden from you, from us" Rose remarked, she knew this would be very hard for her cousin to deal with.
"What are you talking about?" Jeffrey asked confused "my sister would not have hidden something like that from me!"
"The Patty we knew no, she wouldn't have" Rose agreed
"What about the Patty that didn't speak to us for years, at miraculously the same time Alexander stopped communicating with us & deserting his family" Patrik remarked.
Jeffrey tensed "don't Patrik! Don't you dare! Do not bring it up!" he barked closing the gap between the pair so he was standing in front of his cousin.
"You let her go without a fight! Big brother sure was looking after his little sister" Patrik barked back.
"I let her go? Ok, what about you & Alex?!" Jeffrey barked back "you did nothing, especially when we heard that he left.."
"Enough!" Angela called, she really didn't want this tense conversation to keep going "can you both calm down, this is hardly the time or place for this argument, which given what we've just found out is mute anyways" she looked between the pair, she was really upset with her brother, he should have known better.
"Patty would not want you both arguing right now, and besides none of it was her fault! She was being blackmailed & coerced by those sadistic people, and i am sure Alex was the same" Rose remarked
"Blackmailed by who?" Jeffrey asked, he was tired, and totally & completely confused!
"Think about it Jeffrey" Niall remarked carefully.
Jeffrey considered it as he looked at each of his cousins, as well as Anthony & Patricia, that's when something hit him & his eyes darted right back to Niall "are you saying?" he swallowed before speaking again, he saw the looks in both Niall & Patrik's eyes "Fielding?" he snarled
Niall nodded "I'm afraid so"
Keegan & Connor both looked at each other horror "Fielding?" they asked stunned at the same time.
Angela took a breath "yes, the Fielding's are responsible for all of the hurt, for Patty leaving, for Alexander leaving & deserting his family, for the code black, for everything"
Gibbs saw Jeffrey just staring at the women, he could tell he was trying to comprehend what he was hearing.
Jeffrey's eyes narrowed "how exactly?"
"We don't know everything, but one thing we do know is the Patricia here was put through the Louis Fallon adoption agency, and ended up with our Alexander, in New Orleans" Niall finished cautiously.
Jeffrey's eyes widened.
"What the?" Keegan asked confused.
Jim's ears had peaked, the Louise Fallon agency, he'd been there! "what's so special about that place?"
"It was named after Liam & Jeremiah's mother, it was originally run by their sister, Susan" Rose answered
Jim shared a look with Michael & Fornell "Susan? Not Susan Lancert?"
"That is her married name, the Fielding's made an alliance with the Lancert family to try to combat our alliance" Angela said, motioning to herself & Jeffrey "why do you ask?"
"Well" Fornell stepped forward, after a quick nod from Tony he continued "we visited the adoption agency in our quest to locate Patricia" this was getting really confusing and maybe awkward?
"Ok, I think we need to start at the beginning" Niall said before anymore questions would come up.
"Start explaining Niall" Jeffrey said holding his arms wide open, he took the chance to scan the room & his eyes fell to one person, he took a step forward to get a better look, could it be "Niall?" he asked, but he didn't shift his gaze.
Niall had to smile as he took a step forward "Its her Jeffrey, Alex's Shannon." He looked towards his niece "Shannon, this is your uncle Jeffrey"
Shannon had seen that Tony had been tense since the man arrived, but he was looking at her with such emotion "hello" she said, just above a whisper.
Jeffrey couldn't help but smile "I haven't seen you since…."
"since the summer of 1965" Niall finished "and that's where I believe this story starts"
Jeffrey snapped back towards his cousin "you can't mean they did this because?" he took a breath as he saw the look on Niall, Angela & Rose's face "they were kids! It was a damn accident! Michael agreed! He stopped everything!" he vented
Rose closed the gap "Jeffrey, calm yourself, please. There are a lot of people who don't understand anything that we're talking about" she took a breath "there's also something else you need to know"
"Which is?" Jeffrey asked, he had just found out his sister had a second child, he was face to face with Shannon & it was all thanks to those idiots of a family.
"That both Patricia's son & Shannon's son have been kidnapped by Liam & Loch" Niall answered honestly, he shared a look with his sister.
"As well as Alexander" Angela added cautiously.
Jeffrey didn't know whether to be shocked, angry, downright furious or just plain confused! He looked between the two girls "Liam has your sons?"
"Yes" Shannon whispered, the look she was getting from the man was strange, all the looks she was getting were strange.
"yes, and my father" Patricia remarked, she couldn't believe the man in front of her was her uncle. This was getting so confusing.
Jeffrey really didn't know where to go with any of it, but to know his sister had.. he took a breath as he paced "perhaps we can get on with it? Before I…."
"The everyone please sit down" Angela requested, she sat down close to Shannon & saw that Rose had done likewise near Patricia. She took a breath before starting "Back in the summer of 1965 your father came across to visit us, he came over for the whole summer knowing it was probably the last chance for you to be over here for a lengthy period as you were about to start school. He wanted you spend time with your cousins, and with your grandmother & great grandfather"
"He brought you to the Paddington estate over in Carlisle" Jeffrey inputted
Gibbs shared a look with Tony & Tim "Carlisle?"
"Yes, the Paddington's own a large estate in that region, as well as property in the surrounding areas. It was one of the first area's that was developed for importing and exporting materials" Niall answered "Why?"
"We think that's a possible place where they may have taken our son" Gibbs answered.
"What makes you say that?" Niall asked
"We tracked a GPS signal & the last time it gave off a signal it was from the border area of Scotland & England. We also intercepted some emails between Loch & some men doing some grunt work for them & it mentioned meetings, with some man in particular in Carlisle. We also know that the Fieldings own some properties there, somewhere" Tim answered him.
"Connor, call Charles for me. Once everyone is inside The Old Lady tell him to take one other and take a run along the properties northern line" Jeffrey said to his nephew, he gave the man a pointed look.
"Right" Connor nodded
"Connor let me, I know more about the situation, I'll speak to him & make sure he knows the score" Liam offered, he'd been itching to do something since it had first started.
Connor could see the look in his cousin's eyes, he nodded in agreement, he saw Liam move into the corner of the room, clearly wanting some privacy yet not to miss anything that was discussed either.
Jeffrey nodded his ok as well "The Old Lady's northern neighbour is an estate known as The Duntroom, owned by the Fielding's, my son will take a look along the border between the properties, a good look for anything out of the ordinary" he finished looking at the man that was clearly Shannon's husband.
Gibbs really didn't like someone else, someone he'd never met doing this "nobody does anything without me" he asserted, he'd be damned if he'd let anyone act without him present there
"I assure you Jethro, Charles will not do anything, but he will make sure he takes in everything he can & reports back" Niall remarked.
Shannon breathed a sigh of relief, could they finally be getting closer to finding her son? She shared a small smile with her daughter, they were finally getting somewhere.
"The border line is actually where this latest fraction started I would say" Angela remarked
Niall looked between Shannon, Patricia & Anthony, this concerned all of them, but he held his gaze on Shannon "when your father brought you over, you were, well, became inseparable with Patricia" he smiled at the memory.
Jeffrey couldn't help but smile as well, it drew a memory to the fore "my father called them the odd twins, separated only by years between births"
Tony's eyes widened, his mum & Shannon had been close? He was utterly shocked by this revelation. He saw that the shocked was mirrored on countless other faces, including Kelly's, Tim's, Myles, Vance.
"I knew Tony's mother?" Shannon asked quietly.
"Oh yes" Angela smiled "your father could barely pull you away from her to get any one on one time, you both revelled in each other's company. Back then we were quite heavy in the male gene, so you both naturally gravitated towards each other, a sisterly bond if you like"
"My parents organised a hunt one day, the majority of the family went, it was all very proper back then with the horses, beagles, guns & reloaders" Jeffrey added, he couldn't believe what he was talking about, he couldn't believe the crap that had come from that day.
"My uncle wanted Alexander to go as well, he was quite the shot, but it was his & your last few days with us & you desperately wanted him to stay with you & play with the animals at the estate." Niall remarked, he knew what was coming wouldn't be easy for any of them to hear, he also wondered how Jeffrey would go with it as well.
"That & it was Patricia's turn to feed the new baby lambs & you really wanted to help with that" Rose added, she wanted to show the trio, that there really was a connection back then, it may help them get through what was to come.
Niall nodded, he looked towards Patricia & Anthony, both of whom had been extremely quiet of late "your mother had just turned 15 & she had pestered every adult she could to take her driving"
"She'd wanted to get her permit as quickly as possible, she was desperate for the freedom a licence would give her" Jeffrey commented "living on a country estate tends to lead to that tendency" he'd had it as well.
Angela smiled at Patricia & Anthony "Your father & Patty were as close as any two cousins could be, and bringing you into the mix" she smiled at Shannon "well, it was like a trio in the making"
Patricia really didn't know what to do, or how to feel about what she was hearing, the man she thought of as her father, had known her real mother & never said anything? She was still utterly confused how it went from a seemingly happy family to this.. sitting across from the woman who was her father's daughter, yet the woman she had never met before & to know she had known her mother as well, as a child albeit, she really didn't know where to go with any of it. She just wanted to know how this all turned into something that resulted in her family being kidnapped!?
Angela shared a look with Rose, they knew what was to come wouldn't easy for anyone to hear, but probably Shannon most of all, she rested her gaze on her "before we go any further, it was no one's fault, what happened was an accident pure & simple"
"of course it was accident!" Jeffrey huffed
Gibbs could see the tension pouring of the man, it was obviously something big.
Niall wanted to counsel his cousin on what he was saying, but knew he was just processing, in reality it would only get worse. "Yes it was just an accident, no one's fault"
"Your father succumbed to her pleas & took her for a drive, you being you wanted to go as well" Angela said gently as she looked upon Shannon.
Jeffrey didn't really know everything, but he felt like he should be the one to say the next part, the hard part. He started by looking between Anthony & Patricia "you mother was an adventurer, in everything she did. She loved taking the tracks on the north side of the property, they were more challenging in the 4x4 we had." He took a breath, he hadn't spoken about this incident in a great many years "Alexander had taken his eyes off Patty & her driving for 2 minutes when you Shannon had grabbed his attention from the back, you'd seen something out the window & were trying to get his attention. When he looked back ahead he realised that Patty had taken a left instead of a right, the right would have brought them back towards the estate on the inner side of the northern border, but left, it was a road we rarely used, it ran right along the edge of the estate & our border with Duntroom."
Vance, like a lot of the people in the room was just silently listening to this story, he was wondering just where it was leading, nowhere good, that's for sure. The main thing he wondered was why on earth would two families that hated each other live next to each other? That just didn't make sense to him at all!
After taking a breath Jeffrey continued "Alexander tried his best to get Patty to turn around before they got close to the border, not wanting to get close with both her & you, Shannon in the car. Things between the families had been relatively quiet, but he didn't want poke the bear so to speak. The problem was, there wasn't anywhere that they could turn around, so they kept going" he finished with a slight hiccup.
Angela sighed she could see the trouble her cousin was having with talking about this "Patty loved having you in the car with her. She told me during that summer, that the pair of you had decided you would take a road trip over to Disneyland when you turned 10, she figured at the age of 20, it would be good enough to talk Alexander into letting her take you on her own. I doubt that would have worked, but the joy in her eyes was ever present that I didn't have the heart to tell her otherwise. I had taken the pair of you the day prior to the hunt into the city for a movie & the entire drive there & back you were both singing along to The Beatles, Elvis, you name it, neither of you could help not sing"
Tony was again taken with how close Shannon seemed to be to his mother, but he wondered what this had to do with the situation now?
"From what Alexander told us, the girls had been happily singing along to the radio, to a rather raucous one at that" Niall had started, but needed a breath to compose himself, he looked towards Shannon "you were merely being a child, you, you somehow managed to unbuckle yourself & you started dancing in the car"
Gibbs eyes widened, though this was an extremely tense moment, that little glimpse into her childhood, something she knew she didn't even have was amazing, he could barely picture it, but he stored it for another time so that he could try.
Rose saw her cousins were all taking breaths, it looked like Niall & Jeffrey were having a silent conversation as to who would say the next part, she saw that Jeffrey had taken it on & wondered how he would go.
"My sister took one hand off the steering wheel, she wanted to grab yours and dance with you in the car. Alexander was caught between trying to get you back into your seat & telling Patricia to get her hands back onto the steering wheel & concentrate on driving, when.. when a deer came out onto the road right in front of them" Jeffrey managed to get out.
Kelly's eyes widened, this didn't sound good at all!
"Patty & Alexander both did all they could to avoid the deer, and they did it successfully, however they ended up being forced off the track & went down a hill" Jeffrey hiccuped, he took a few calming breaths, before closing his eyes to say the next part "at the bottom of the hill was another dirt road, and the car collided with another that was travelling along it"
Tony's eyes widened, holy cow! This wasn't sounding good at all! Had his mother & Shannon been hurt?
Gibbs didn't even want to think about what was coming next, but he saw Jeffrey was about to say something.
"You, Patty & Alex all escapes with minor injuries really, thanks to the fact that you were in a sturdy 4x4, but the other car was carrying Henry & Louise Fielding, Liam & Jeremiah's parents, along with their youngest siblings, twins Jethro & Barbara, it….. it rolled, they… " Jeffrey took another breath "they all died as result of the crash" he finished in just above a whisper.
A/N: So, i dont think i need to really comment.. I'll just leave it there for now...
