Author's note: I own nothing. Drat.

Amber and ebony
Once you were fair
Once you were noble, I know, I was there...
Once like a colossus, you straddled my trust.
I was such a fool then,
When power flowed like lust…

Once I was younger, foolishly beguiled,
Charmed and at ease with your manner and smile,
Gently you pulled us, wrapped us in your coils,
We feared no danger; we fought for our spoils,
And you would watch us,
Smaller serpents we,
You were the basilisk, amber and ebony…

Amber and ebony,
Once you were fair,
Once you seemed noble, I know, I was there
But your glory faded, you renounced your right…
Amber traded for emerald, ebony, for might.

...Still you seduced us,

Never let me win!
Hard it was to despise you with my own soul seeped in sin.
I recall when your fingers,
Seized me around my wrist.
Chained I was, my own no more…
And like a serpent…

You hissed.
