This isn't really much of anything, just a quick oneshot. It's kinda lame. Yay boredom.
Where'd you go?
I miss you so
Seems like it's been forever that you've been gone
It was two weeks ago Masako left on her 10th A-Rank Mission this year, and she had also gone on numerous other lesser-ranked missions. She was taken hostage and thought to be dead. The hokage looked down at the sleeping bundle in his arms, his 1-year-old daughter named Katsuki, who was born just before Masako started taking all these missions. He could not fathom how she could always put her life on the line. Katsuki needed her mother. Even the three genins she had been training suffered from the absence of their sensei. He threw the negativity out of his head. She'd make it. After all, she was his rival to becoming the hokage those years back, and a very worthy opponent. She had lost, but a relationship somehow blossomed from their experience.
She said some days I feel like shit
Some days I wanna quit and just be normal for a bit
I don't understand why you have to always be gone
I get along but your trips always feel so long
He walked over to the window, a warm breeze blew in through it and papers from the table flew about. This caused Katsuki to stir a bit. He held her tighter and couldn't help but notice how much like Masako she looked. She and him shared the same shaggy blonde hair, but the amethyst eyes and milky white skin belonged to the beautiful woman that he loved. She was the best wife and mother anyone could ask for, when she was around that is. She was graceful in everything she did, and could calm anyone with her gentle touch and soothing words. She always seemed to know if he needed something before he could speak up. And her physical beauty was indescribable. She was his, and he was hers.
And I find myself trying to stay by the phone
'Cause your voice always helps me to not feel so alone
But I feel like an idiot, working my day around a call
And when I pick up I don't have much to say, so
A little bit of anger began to well up inside. All he could do during these times was fill his time with meetings, Katsuki, paperwork, and more meetings. Why did she feel the need to go on these missions? Was her life not fulfilling, was he too much to handle, did she not really love him, did she not want Katsuki, did her genins bug her that much? A million questions ran through his mind. If she was unhappy, nobody knew it, and certainly not him. What could he, or anyone, have done, to drive her away like this? Was she trying to, in her own way, fill the void from the death of their firstborn son? Whatever she was doing, he hoped it was only a phase that would die out.
I want you to know its a little fucked up that
I'm stuck here waiting, at times debatin'
Telling you that I've had it with you and your career
Me and the rest of the family here singing
A wolf howled in the distance, and no other wolves answered back. This was exactly how he felt. He could scream her name and cry for her but it would not bring her back. Tears managed to escape from his eyes, no matter how hard he tried to hold them back.
"Where'd you go? I miss you so. Seems like it's been forever that you've been gone. Please come back home..."
"I am home, Naruto..." Masako's voice filled his ears. She had suffered quite a few injuries, but she was alive, and that's all that mattered to him.
