Chapter 3: Rock Above Meets Down Under

(Bush Rescue HQ in Buramudgee)

Ty was lying on his back on a trolly as he was also underneath his Shadow Bunyip. Sly was standing nearby with a toolbox in his paws.

Ty- Wrench.

Sly pulls out a wrench from the toolbox and handed it to Ty.

Sly- Wrench.

Ty took the wrench and continued working on the Shadow Bunyip. Then Ty extended his paw from underneath the Shadow Bunyip again and reached towards Sly.

Ty- Screwdriver.

Sly pulls out a screwdriver from the toolbox and handed it to Ty.

Sly- Screwdriver.

Then Ty took the screwdriver and continued working. After a few minutes, Ty extended his paw again and reached towards Sly.

Ty- Electrical cables.

Then Sly pulled out some electrical cables from the toolbox and handed them to Ty.

Sly- Electrical cables.

Then Ty grabbed the cables and electrical sparks could be seen from underneath the Shadow Bunyip. Eventually, Maurie flew into the room and landed on one of the legs of the Shadow Bunyip.

Maurie- Ty still working on the repairs to his Shadow Bunyip, I see?

Sly- Actually, it's all he's been doing since he got back from Popstar.

Maurie- Well, I think you can afford to spare a few minutes, Ty. You have visitors, mate.

Ty- Can this wait, Maurie? I don't have time with the repairs I need to make to me Shadow Bunyip.

Pit's voice- Not even time for a fellow member of the Super Mario Brothers' Team?

After Ty heard that voice, he slowly moved the trolly he was lying on from underneath the Shadow Bunyip and saw Pit and Dark Pit standing at the entrance.

Ty- Pit…what brings you to Buramudgee, mate?

Sly- Did Boss Cass break into Palutena's Skypalace again?

Pit- Nah! Lady Palutena has improved her home security to make sure that doesn't happen again.

Ty- Please tell me this isn't Tabuu related!

Palutena (telepathically to Ty)- Don't worry. This doesn't involve Tabuu. But this does involve Simba.

Ty- Simba…? The Tasmanian Tiger from the original Super Mario Brothers' Team?

(Cassopolis)

Boss Cass and Karlos were looking at rusted piece of machine that looked like it was barely standing.

Boss Cass- Karlos, what even is this hunk of junk you've brought into my chambers?

Karlos- I'm not sure. I found it while cleaning out the junkyard like you asked, but it looks the same design as one of your inventions.

Boss Cass- What are you talking about? I don't remember building something like this! And I've remembered every invention I've built, including all the ones those damn heroes have destroyed! I don't know why you've wasted my time! Just get rid of it!

Karlos- Yes, sir.

As Karlos reached for the machine, he accidently pressed a button on it and the machine began to turn on. It was struggling to turn on and function since it was now a rusted machine that had been shut down for over a 1,000 years, but it turned on and was sending a signal into the sky.

Boss Cass- Hang on…is this some kind of beacon?

Karlos- It appears so…but a beacon for what?

(Back at Bush Rescue)

Pit had just finished telling Ty about the dreams he was having.

Ty- Well, this is strange, mate. Just like how Ash and I had the same dream before we found Pakston in ruins of Goldenquake. I believe I had the same dream, only I was Simba while you were Icarus in your dream.

Pit- That is a strange coincidence.

Viridi (telepathically to Pit and Ty)- Actually, it was more than that. That actually did happen 1,000 years ago.

Ty- And would you be so kind as to tell us what this means or what this Meteor Beacon is?

Before Viridi could answer, Maurie looked out the window and saw something in the sky.

Maurie- Guys…what is that?!

Ty, Pit, Sly, and Dark Pit looked out the window as well and they saw what appeared to be a meteor falling from the sky as it crashed near Rainbow Cliffs. The impact actually knocked them all to the ground even through it wasn't that close to where it landed. All the windows at the Bush Rescue HQ shattered and all the power in the building shut down. Also, dark snow clouds suddenly appeared above Buramudgee as it was beginning to snow lightly.

(Back at Cassopolis)

Boss Cass' jaw almost dropped when he saw the damage that was done from that one meteor that fell from the sky.

Boss Cass- Now this is a surprise! It appears this ancient device is capable of attracting meteors. Now that is interesting!

Karlos- Boss Cass, are you sure about this?! Causing meteors to collide with Earth enough times could risk causing an ice age.

Boss Cass- Really?! CAWHAHAHAHA! That sounds like the perfect way to get rid of those mammals from this world once and for all!

But then the machine shuts down again.

Boss Cass- Hmmm…it appears that this machine it more damaged than we thought. Perhaps we should reverse engineer this machine it and build a new one better than ever.

Karlos- I don't know…I have a bad feeling about this…
