*Calvin's POV*

Penny and I have been buddies since we first met. I was a little bit older than her but it doesn't matter. Friends to puppy crush maybe to something more. It has been too much drama for only God knows how long. Between… well that's them now it is about me. Calvin here. I always had a thing for her but I can't get too close because of her brother Lyle. You would think with him dating Ice he would be more calm. Guess I was wrong. Big time. I had to find a way to get her attention. So I found her relaxing with her mother.

*Back to Normal*

"Penny, you look upset? What is wrong?" Skye asked.

"It's nothing just thinking"

"Still upset that Lyle pushed Calvin away. Again."

"A little. Momma I just…"

"Just don't know how to get Lyle to back up." Penny nodded. "How about you and Calvin going somewhere to hang out? Just do it on a day when he's with Ice."

"Great idea. Thanks mom." Then Penny ran off to the police station. Over there at the station, the four brothers were fighting against each other while Star was with her nieces and nephews. Jupitar had ninja training to do today. Penny walked to see what they were up to.

"Hey Penny. Over here." Star said while her nephew was under her paw.

"Afternoon, Star. Watching the pups today?" Star nodded. "What's happening today?

"My brothers have this big test by the end of the week. So mom is getting them ready. I turned it down. Kevin was going to do the same thing. Jupitar told him it would be a great opportunity for him."

"What test?

"Chris didn't tell you. It's a test to see who will take charge of the police station in Adventure City. They need a strong leader so that he or she can lead a K-9 team." Penny stood there shocked. How come Calvin never said anything about this? Okay they might not be in a relationship. It was mainly Penny's feelings for him. "Earth to Penny."

"He never told me." Penny said, trying to hide her feelings.

"I'm surprised as well. You would think Calvin would tell you. Sasha and Blue know. Maybe he wanted to tell you himself or get you alone with him. Don't forget Calvin is the shy out of the four of them. I will let him know to go talk to you when training is over. To be honest it might be Nate that will get the spot. He needs to come out of the shadows."

"Why do you say that?"

"I will explain later. They are on break. Go talk to him." Penny walked to him with a smile. The nervous look on her face got Nate's attention fast. So he got AJ and Kevin's attention. They went after Calvin and pushed him to the front. Calvin looked at them until Nate pointed to Penny looking at them lost. Calvin saw her face and his heart started racing. Kevin and AJ pushed forward again. Aaliyah rolled her eyes but understood what they were doing.

"Hey Calvin." She said, trying not to look at him.

"Hey Penny. What brings you here?" Calvin said still sweating from his training. Penny was looking at his body. He was strong and built up like her father. I guess all the training is coming in handy. His shape goes well with everything about him. Groomed making him look more handsome than his brothers. His personality was so outgoing and fun. "Penny?" His brothers saw that girl just looking at him.

"Yo Penny is just checking out our brother." said Kevin as he smiled at Nate and AJ.

"I agree." AJ said.

"I second that statement." Nate said.

"He's so shy around her." Star added with the pups behind her. The pup that looks like his great grandmother T. White fur and brown eyes walked up to his uncle. "Boy get back over here."

"Penny?" Calvin said as his paw went on hers. That made her jump back to reality. So embarrassed about what she was thinking, her face was red and with her mother's fur color didn't help. So Penny moved her head away from his. She couldn't look at him from thinking about him like that. "What's on your mind? It has to be something."

"Can…Can we talk outside please?" Penny mumbled but he was able to hear her.

"Sure. Come on Rebel. Kevin I…" He turned his head and saw his siblings smiling at him. Star was making a kissing face. While you got Kevin making a face stating go get her bro. "Guys can you stop please?" Calvin turned red. "Come on Rebel" Once they left Kevin, AJ and Star were laughing. Aaliyah bumped all of them at the back of their heads.

"Sorry mom. Do we have to run around the town?" The four of them said. Aaliyah nodded. So the four of them went off while Aaliyah had the puppies with her. Outside Calvin saw his siblings going past them.

"They are in trouble." Calvin said as he smiled.

"Why?" Penny questioned.

"Nevermind. So what did you want to talk about?"

"Well I um… Come here to ask you something." Calvin moved his head to the side. "I wanted to ask you if you wanted to …"

"Would you like to go on a date with me?" Calvin said, cutting her sentence short. "I will also explain why I didn't tell you about the test that's coming up." Penny looked at him. "And how I knew you were going to ask that. I saw how nervous you were when you walked towards me. So I guessed that was the question." Penny just smiled. "So I will meet you at the pond by Farmer Yumi."

"Yep. I will be there."

"Cool see you then." Without Penny looking Calvin was able to bite her ear. She has Skye's ears so it wasn't that hard. Once he went back inside with Rebel that was now hanging by his tail. Penny stood there shocked and went back to the Lookout. When she got there Lyle was looking for her while Ice and Chris were trying to stop him.

"Lyle, leave her alone," said Chris.

"I just don't want her near Clavin. Just like how don't you be near MJ but too late for that one." said Lyle. Then MJ walked over and licked Chris on the cheek. Lyle got upset by that. What are you doing here?"

"Came over to see what the problem is. But I can see that it's an older sibling thing. Chris. Ice. Let me and Joey talk to him. We are doing the same thing with Sasha." Chris looked at her boyfriend.

"*sigh* You too. So this is why she stays mad at you two." Chris looked at him.

"And why haven't we seen Nate for like a month or two." said Ice.

"I think it was when we went to Barkingburg. Which was like last year. I haven't seen him since then." Chris said, looking at MJ. "What am I going to do with you? Over protective just like my brother. You're very lucky that… you know what I mean. I will give you some time to talk to him. We have things to do afterwards."

"I know I know. See you in a bit." MJ said as he gave Chris a kiss on cheek." MJ and Lyle went to find Joey. Once they did he was with Olivia. They were playing tag. The way that they were playing. They both saw a smile on his face.

"I see you two found Joey." The boys jumped. When turned around it was Marshall and Chase. Everest went to Jake's mountain for the day but will be back tomorrow morning or the afternoon.

"What are you doing now?" asked Marshall.

"Nothing" they both said.

"Okay that's a lie." said Chase.

"Totally." Marshall said, trying not to laugh. "Being over protective of your sisters again." MJ rubbed the back of his head while Lyle was just smiling. "I will take that as a yes."

"You two need to calm down and loosen up on them. Chris already got into a fight with you Lyle. MJ the more you continue this the more Chris is going to get mad." said Chase.

"We understand you guys are trying to protect you sisters. Give your sisters some room to grow." Marshall started.

"Or are you trying to stop them from what happened with Kevin and Jupitar?" Chase questioned them. MJ and Lyle turned red. " Boys relax will you."

"Just calm down and let them be happy." Marshall said as he and Chase walked away. "How long do you think that would last?"

"Until they go back being over protective again?" Marshall nodded. "I would say 2 weeks." They both laughed. Penny was getting ready to hang out with Calvin tonight. Lyle wasn't home since he was with MJ, Joey and Stan. So Penny left and headed to Farmer Yumi's area. Once she got there Calvin was already there relaxing and watching the sunset.

"Hi Calvin." Penny said to make him turn his head.

"Glad you can make it." He smiled as he patted the ground for her to sit next to him. They continued to talk, Calvin had a few snacks that he had with him. The clear blue sky was beautiful. "Penny."

"What's wrong?"

"I'm sorry I never told you about the test that's coming up for me, my brothers, Star and Chris. I didn't want to do this but we all had too. Star and Chris got put back in the program for it. So I knew if I tried to get out I would be put back in. The only reason why Blue and Sasha knew was because Jupitar told them. She was trying to find you as well but she got called back to the police station. I wanted to tell you myself but never had the courage to do so."

"But why didn't you want to participate?" Calvin turned his head looking at the sky. Penny got her paw and moved his head facing her. From the look in her eyes Calvin knew he had to tell her the reason but was too nervous to say it. So instead of saying it, he just kissed her on the lips. Penny was caught off guard by this. Once Calvin moved his head back and away from Penny. She knew the answer.

"You are a family dog. You don't want to be away from your parents and the same thing for myself. That's why I dropped out. I didn't want to leave you, Penny. I love you. I don't want to be separated from you. If I even get the position I would have taken you with me but you would feel uncomfortable and so would I." Penny just sat there and listened to him. Tears coming down her face. Calvin moved his paw to wipe her tears. "I love you Penny." From Penny's tears it was a sign stating the same thing. More tears came down to the point she put her head on his shoulder.

"Penny, calm down will you." Calvin smiled.

"I can't." He looked at her well from the top of head. "Because I…I love you too. I wanted to tell you for some time now but Lyle was in my way. There was no way around him. I just wanted to be near you and everything that…" Penny went quiet. Calvin understood what she was about to say.

"Penny I understand but you have to be ready also. There are other ways as well. Trust me, I asked my mom."

" I thought you were going to ask your dad."

"I was but after what Kevin had to deal with. I went to mom instead. He's still trying to get used to pups around the station. Also the state they are his grandchildren from Kevin and Jupitar. So I'm not sure if he's ready for the rest of us." Penny just laughed. "When you are then I'm with you until the end. Love you Penny."

"Love you also Calvin." They cuddled for the rest of the time there at the pond. Enjoying each other's company.
