Chaper 5: Monster

Willow was looking everywhere, she was scared, obviously. But she would be lying if she said she wasn't the slightest bit exited. When the portal first opened, Gus went in flying and had Luz show them around the human world.

She saw a lot of things in there, restaurants, technology, vehicles, and so much more. She was amazed at a world without magic that somehow seemed to have advanced so much more than hers.

In a sense, she questioned why her people, who had such an incredible power, were so behind a species that had nothing going for them. And also, in a strange sense, she felt like it just made sense.

Witches were calm and peaceful, they didn't strive for much in life. So maybe humans did. Maybe it's because they had so little that they wanted so much. It was the difference between an animal whose stomach is full and one who was starving, one was clearly going to eat more than the other even could.

But out of all of the things that she saw there, one stood out: Fighting.

Humans seemed to love fighting, they made a massive spectacle out of it. Boxing, Wrestling, mixed martial arts, etc.

Willow had fallen in love with these spectacles, she was a huge fan and began to learn all about this new world. She knew who the top fighters in just about every sport were, she followed competitions and friendly matches, she did everything she could to soak herself in this wonderful new world and she didn't quite understand why.

Well, almost everything.

The one thing she had left in the world of fighting was… fighting herself.

She was scared of getting hurt, but she also was excited to do it. This was her chance to finally take the last step into the world she wanted to be a part of for the past year, and it was nervewracking.

As she walked with Amity, she tried to ease the tension with some casual talk.

"Hey…. Ummmmm….. I wonder who the last human fighter is."

"What?"

"Huh?"

What? What does she mean "what?"…. did Amity not notice?

"At the arena, there were only 7 humans. The announcer said the last one had some trouble getting there on time and that we "would clearly know when he showed up, an introduction was not necessary"…. You didn't hear that?"

Amity didn't say anything. She was still embarrassed for spacing out at the arena, and didn't want to talk about it. Luckily, before Willow could ask anything else, someone stopped them on the street.

It was a human. A man that was almost 3 heads taller than them. His skin was a deep shade of brown that it almost looked just straight up black. His head was dressed with what humans called "cornrows", and his face was quite handsome, with some scars here and there and a wide nose with thick lips. His confident smile made him look quite pleasant, like an old friend you haven't met in a long time.

But his body was the complete opposite. Muscular as hell, he was so jacked his T-shirt did little to hold back his frame. His back was massive, his arms were thick, his legs looked powerful (and oddly slim in comparison to the rest of his body).

Willow realized that this was the frame of a boxer, and a damn well good one too, filled with various scars that tell of many fights to the death. He was a boxer, just not any boxer she had ever heard of.

"Honey? Is something the matter- Oh, you are Willow right?"

Behind him came a woman.

And dear Titan, was she beautiful. Even Amity blushed at her, and she only ever blushed for Luz. That's how beautiful she was. Her slim face had no flaws, her delicate hands were perfect. Her hair was long and flowing, tied into a ponytail that made her look unreal. Her dress was a Kimono, but one laid with so much detail and artistry that it made her look like a goddess. She was clearly Japanese, and didn't even need makeup to look stunning.

After the initial shock, Willow realized 2 things:

The man was NOT one of the fighters she saw in the arena.

The woman was.

"Ummmm… hi. Yes I'm Willow… You are Miyuki right?"

"Yes, very lovely to meet you! We didn't get much time to talk before. And, I'm sorry if this sounds rude from me but…."

"Would you fight me?"

Willow was slightly taken back by the polite proposition. She expected ambushes and violence from this competition, not formal challenges.

"oooooooo, that's hella weird from ya babe, ain't ya more wild?"

The man spoke with the same smile.

"Kendrick! Come on, you know why I have to do it like this!"

She spoke with class and glee, the couple laughed and even kissed in front of them. They looked as happy as a couple could be. Willow started to worry she might hurt her badly if they did this.

"Ummm… I'm sorry, I'm not sure if you should do this, I mean, what if you get hurt, right?"

They stopped, their faces looked deadpan for a moment. Kendrick stepped back with a grin, as if he knew where this was going.

"Miss park…"

"WHO THE FUCK DO YOU TAKE ME FOR, DUMBASS?!"

Out of nowhere, Miyuki started acting like a completely different person, her face scrunched up like she was some sort of mobster. She dropped the left part of her kimono, revealing both the cloth that tightly covered her chest and the massive tattoo of a serpentine dragon that went from the back of her left hand with the head, all around her back and into the back of her left hand with the tail. Her arms were surprisingly muscular, and then Willow noticed the two Japanese swords at her sides.

She pulled one out and pointed her at her face.

"Y'KNOW WHO THE FUCK I AM?! I AM MIYUKI HANAMURA, THE DAUGHTER OF THE HANAMURA FAMILY! YA TRYIN' TA FUCK WITH A YAKUZA BITCH, BITCH?!"

Willow said nothing, she was scared.

But there it was again.

That bizarre excitement that she couldn't explain, she almost wanted to yell "COME AT ME". It was very close to happening, the last step.

"Ayo, chill babe! Ya gon' lose your mind before the fight! What's up with ya anyway?"

Miyuki seemed to calm down a bit. Then she turned to her boyfriend and whispered something in his ear. His eyes widened, he looked in shock at Willow.

He got close to her and started examining her.

"….. naaaaahhh, ya playing me girl. She ain't like that! You tripping."

"Honey, I swear it's true. On my father's name"

"DAMN. Fo'real?! Her? …"

Kendrick looked at her harder.

"….."

"Ya telling me this girl, that can barely stand on her damn feet, was acknowledged by a Kaioh?"

A what? Willow had never heard that word before. Ka-ee-oo? What was even happening? She had never met anyone who went by that title, ever. She was just confused now.

"Well, damn. Ya must be a sleeping monster or some' like that! Now I wish I joined the tournament to have a swing at'cha!"

He then turned to look at Amity for a second.

"…. And at you!"

He then turned around and took his leave. Before he took off, he said to his girlfriend:

"Ayo babe….."

"Try not to kill her!"

Blood.

Blood.

More blood.

The alleyway was had blood splattered all over.

*CRACK*

*BOOM*

The sounds coming from their punches were deafening.

Jack and Sclep had been fighting for almost 2 hours now. There was nothing special about what they were doing.

Just puching each other in the face.

Over

And over again.

And yet, it was marvelous. No one witnessing the fight could avert their eyes, no witch and no human. It was the purest form of a fist fight. No blocking, no dodging, just punching each other in the face until one of them fell down. It was so pure it was almost like a work of art.

They were both bleeding from the nose and spitting blood.

And they both had huge smiles on their faces.

Sclep´s cape had fallen off a long time ago, revealing her massive muscles. Muscles she hid from the world, for it was unnatural for a witch to have such muscles. And it wasn't.

Sclep had dedicated her life to do the unnatural. Witches don't have the physique humans do. They can't grow huge muscles or develop cast-iron tough bodies. Their magic demanded too much for that. They didn't even have a full left lung.

But Sclep did not care.

She had met a human once when she was but a witchling. And his muscles were a true work of art.

So massive, so powerful, so hard. She came to desire that body for herself. There was no real reason for it, she just wanted to wake up and see that same glorious image in the mirror.

She couldn't remember his name, she only remembered that people called him "The Unchained".

She did what she could to cast her body into the monstrous image she desired. She reduced the size of her magic bile sack via surgery. She took artificial supplements to grow her lungs and muscles. Used forbidden spells that were sure to shorten her life. Even used magic right now to make her muscles stronger.

She didn't care.

Nothing mattered.

Only that image.

Only this fight.

"hmhmhmhmhm! It's bizarre isn't it, witch?"

"What is?"

"….. Fighting a mirror of course!"

"Hoh? You say I'm a mirror of you or something?"

"… no, not quite. More like, fighting someone so similar to myself is odd. It's almost like I'm fighting myself."

Sclep smiled.

"Oh bother…."

Even though neither said anything, they both knew they thought the same thing:

"I might fall in love today!"
