A/N: this is just a random one-shot I wrote during an examination…I had 5 minutes spare so inspiration came up… I'll try to come up with updates for my other story… This story is mixed with some real facts from GSD. Those two facts are that Cagalli is the princess of Orb and Athrun kind of left for Meyrin.

"Cagalli! Cagalli! CAGALLI!"

A person came up to her, running.

"Father didn't kill me for not getting first place in the exam!" Little Athrun came up to the blonde haired girl.

"That's good!" She beamed, showing the empty gap in her teeth. "What did he say?" she abandoned the drawing she was working on.

"He asked me something… something so confusing! He got a half filled cup and asked me if the glass was half empty or half filled!"

Ask the Ruler of Orb if the glass was half full or half empty, and she would say that it was half empty.

An answer, that was unacceptable. For a ruler should set a good example and be optimistic. One of Cagalli's biggest traits-honesty and sincerity would always be displayed at this question. Even so, she would sometimes fabricate false words of goodwill to her citizens.

"And what did you say?" Cagalli leaned forward, eager to listen to Athrun's tale.

"I said that it was half empty! Father then told me it was a positive thought! If I am beaten by a small obstacle, half the battle is already gone! He also encouraged me to fill up the other half." He grinned.

"So let's go fill it now!" Cagalli cheered, not understanding the concept fully.

Cagalli stared at the half filled wine of glass, remembering that incident. Kira's voice interrupted her trip to memory land with a question.

"Cagalli? Why do you always say that the glass is half empty?" he indicated the wine glass.

"But it is already filled!" his voice filled with shyness

"Aw… I wanted to help you fill it." She pouted. "HEY! Its not filled!" she yelled. Athrun had taken out the glass his father had shown him. "Now we can fill the rest!"

"No, we don't!" He protested.

"But its not…" Cagalli's voice grew smaller.

"Yes it is! Because you are my other half!"

A tear dropped into the wine glass, creating ripples on the red liquid.

"Because… my other half is gone."

A/N: I hope this didn't confuse anybody. What I'm trying to say is that Cagalli used to be Athrun's other half but now her glass is empty.
