"Woah…I just-I just never knew that happened, that's terrible" Canare said, willing away a lone tear that fought to break free from his eye.

"My dad is a cop, and he knows the whole story, he said Remy is super sad a lot of the time, but he's happier ever since you came around" The German shepherd pup stated.

"W-Wait, Mom said we weren't supposed to talk about this with anyone" The other German shepherd claimed to his brother is frightened tone.

"I know, but he had to know about it, Mom always said to tell the truth too" He stated making his brother seemingly stunned momentarily.

"Well now I feel like an idiot for not knowing, How can I help him?" Canare asked before the German shepherd just looked at each other in silence as of the there was only one answer that wasn't easy to say.

"It's really hard, everyone tries to help him, but it just doesn't work, maybe you can though"

"Yeah, I'll do something awesome for him" The mixed breed pup said with his paw in air as a personal declaration of dedication before suddenly, both the German shepherds perked their heads up from the grass over at the nearby road, seeing a police cruiser slowly driving by and turning into the Homestead.

"Oh no, He told me not to leave house, he's gonna be super angry when he sees me out here" Canare said ducking back down onto the grass but lifting his head up to see the Patrol car slowly driving around the property to the front entrance.

"I have an idea; My Brother and I will distract him so you can find another way inside"

"W-We will?" The other German shepherd pup asked timidly as his brother threw his paw around him. "Yeah, we will" He said as he ran off to the patrol car that just stop In front of the house, running like the wind leaving Canare let him think of a way to get back inside.

"Hey Remy" The German Shepherd said running over to Remy, The Deputy turned around after locking his patrol car to see two Pups. "Well look who it is, The Maxson brothers, Playing out in the field again?"

The German Shepherd shook their heads, but one was not as enthusiastic as the other, but enough to fool Remy for a moment in time. Canare looked through the tall grass of the field to see Remy himself already distract, taking the opportunity by running around the plain of vegetation around the Home to find an alternative way inside.

"Well you both have fun, I got things I need to do" Remy said before being stopped by the pups, One jumped right in front of him and threw his body right down to the ground, stretched out like a piece of string. "Wait…I-I uhhh….I got a umm…Splinter and I was hoping you could look at it" The pup held his paw out to the Deputy.

Remy turned his head with a curious look as he looked at the paw from a distance with his hands on his hip. "Fine, I'll look" Remy said as he knelt to the 'aid' of the pup's attention as the other pup looked back behind him to see Canare running around to the back of the House. Canare's paws trampled over the flowers around the house as he reached the back, looking up and already seeing his port of entry waiting for him.

A singular wide window on the second floor of the House, It was perfect. However, getting up there was surely going to prove a challenge for the pup.

"Im not seeing anything" Remy said, twisting and turning gently the pup's paw to try and find the alleged splinter he had complained about. "But it hurts really bad" The pup said, trying to make it seem more convincing until Remy stood up on his legs. "Well run back to your mother, I'm sure she can take a better look at it for you" he said, facing away from the German Shepherd pups and walk onto his front porch.

The wood of the floor beneath him creaked as he reached into his back pocket for his keys, digging into his pocket further as he felt around but concluded his keys weren't there. "That's weird, I always put my keys in my back pocket" He stated, reaching all around his body in every possible place it might be before hearing the jingle of his keys from behind him.

"Looking for these?" The adventurous pup said as he held up the keys he snatched from the Deputy's pocket. Meanwhile on the other side of the House, Canare leaned against the exterior of the house right beneath the window to try and think of a plan. Whilst in midst of his own brainstorm, A single leaf hand fallen from the Tree, just a few feet away from Canare, getting the Idea of climbing it and jumping into the window.

As fast as he could Canare threw himself at the bark of the tree and began to expedition up the far branches of the tree, one by one chipping off old pieces of dried barked and small stems that grew out in an odd fashion.

"Just give me the keys already" Remy said trying to grab the keys from the pup. "You didn't say please". "I've said please four times already, just give me the darn keys!" He said before the pup suddenly threw up the keys to his brother. The other pup timidly caught the set of keys as he looked up and saw Remy.

"If you don't hand over those keys, I'll be sure to tell your mother all about this" He said, as if like a magic trick, the German Shepherd had froze before lifting the keys up the to him in fear. "Please don't tell our mom, Please please please please" He pleaded as his brother in background face palmed at the mere sight of his brother caving in so quickly.

"Ughh, You two are just a handful aren't you?" He said with a sign, walking back onto his porch and fiddling with his cluster of keys to find the right one. "Canare, Im home!" He shouted through the front door which sent a shiver down the German Shepherd's spines.

"Canare?" He asked before suddenly, A loud crash came from at the back of the House gaining his utmost attention. They all turned their heads to the sound of the noise as Remy stuck the keys back in his pocket and drawing out his service weapon that was on his duty belt. Remy walked off his porch and stuck close to the wall as he walked around the house slowly.

Turning the corner to see…nothing, nothing except for a fallen branch that landed down from the tree, The German Shepherds blew a sigh of relief as their gaze turned up to see Canare, hanging from a small branch in total fear and in desperation to not make a single sound, hanging right above Remy's head as he remained un aware.

"Welp, False Alarm" He said walking away past the pups who remained with a tense smile hoping and pleading to the creator to not look up. Canare looked on as he saw Remy turn the corner, quietly reaching over to the windowsill and jumping inside, landing right inside the bedroom of where Remy said he could stay.

Canare looked down and saw the two brothers standing there, pleased that it all worked out great in their favour. "Thanks for getting me up here, You guys are awesome" Canare complimented. "No problemo dude, We can play tomorrow right?" One asked as he leaned against the house wall with his tail wagging.

"Sure I'm down for that, By the way, What's your names, you never told me" Canare questioned with his head tilted, he did make a good point though. Through all that time of playing in them looking out for Canare, he never knew their names.

"Oh yeah, my name is Cash" He said with his furry chest puffed out, seeming to take great pride in his own name. "And my name is Cass" he said timidly stepping in front of his brother with his paw in the air as if he was left un-noticed.

"Alright then, see you two later" Canare said with a wave whilst pulling down the windowsill closing it shut. Canare blew a large sigh of relief before suddenly Remy himself had stepped inside the room. "Hey Canare, have you been in bed all afternoon?" He asked.

Canare turned to look at the Deputy, suddenly freezing in fear of not knowing to what to say or even how to react. A cold mist cleansed his whole body as his brain tried to come out with the perfect excuse of what to say. "I was just sleepy, and hungry….and bored" He said as Remy just tilted his head with a smile.

"Yeah, I guess you can get bored a lot in this county, especially if you're just stuck in the house all day" He explained as he sat on the bed where Canare was, clasping his hands together whilst still wearing his department issued Gloves.

"B-But why cant I go outside?" Canare asked, looking up at Remy. Remy in returned just bit his lip, knowing in his mind full well of why he did not want to give Canare that right to freely go out, to have fun or get himself hurt.

"There's just a lot of Insects around, I don't want you to get sick from them….or just attacked by a bear even, A lot of them love to roam around here all day and all night" He said mimicking the behaviour of a bear in a split second with his mouth open and fingers separates and pointed out like claws. However, Canare didn't seem to be fazed at all.

When he was outside with Cash and Cass, playing outside for Hours on end, He saw no sign of bears or didn't even notice and insects that could pose a really threat to the pup's health in any certain way. "I-I guess that makes sense" Canare asked before being pulled into a hug by the Deputy.

"You'll understand one day, I just want to protect you, no matter what" Remy said as suddenly his hug became more and more tight, almost like he didn't want to let Canare go. "I-I just don't want to see anything happen to you" He whispered before slowly letting go of the pup.

"A-Anyways, You said you were hungry, I'm gonna go cook up some grub for the both of us" He said, getting up and making his way out the door, leaving Canare in a state of worry, knowing fully the definition of what Remy had just whispered, knowing why he wanted to protect him so bad.

It was nothing suddenly new in his mind, It was just a confirmation. What the German Shepherd pups had told him about Remy's deceased son. Canare looked out the window into the sky and at the cloud as if the answers were written there. Laying back down his bed to let his head rest for a while, not full comprehending the gravity of his own situation.

Downstairs, Remy could be seen properly relaxing after a long day of Patrolling Adventure County, already seeing to his promises as he had already set a pot of ingredients to boil on the stove. Reaching over to the Coffee table to grab himself a drink before all of a sudden, The house phone begins to ring.

The constant beeping making the Off Duty Deputy stand up and answer the phone, holding it up to his ears as he hears who ever is on the other end of the line. "Hello, Canare, Is that you?" A Familiar sounding cockapoo asked revealing to be Skye.

She sounded concerned but also eager to talk to her pup son, unknown to her it was Remy who picked up the Phone. Remy turned around with the phone still in his hand, looking up the stairs, thinking of Canare. Thinking he should give Canare the phone and let him speak to his biological mother.

However, Remy pulled the phone away from his ear and placed it back on the stand, hanging it up. Remy gulped knowing the deed he had just done had violated a lot of what he stood for. He look at his un-buttoned uniform he was wearing and his Badge that shined on his chest, it was supposed to stand for Truth, Respect and Justice.

But hanging up made Remy commit a huge lie in his heart and against Canare.

'What have I done' He had thought to himself.

Remy took back up the phone and started to dial a number then placing it against his ear. A few moments went by of incessant ringing before another familiar voice came on the line.

"Hey Remy, What's up?" Elena asked.

"Elena, where are you right now?"

"The Sheriff's Department, why, What's wrong?" Elena asked, clearing getting worried just by the tone in her voice. "I just need to talk to you about something, something very important" He said.

"O-Okay, you want me to come to your house?" Elena asked.

"Yeah sure, get here when you can"

"I'll be there in an hour, You sure you're okay though?"

"Yeah, Yeah I'm sure"
