The knock on his door
woke him in the middle of the night. He walked to the door sleepily,
in his nightshirt and boxers, his hair rumpled. He opened the door.
Bianca stood there. He looked at her confused. He closed his eyes,
sighing. She stood there waiting. She had knocked so quietly.
"May
I come in? I don't want anyone to know I'm here."
He
looked at her quickly. He was completely confused. He didn't like
that. He didn't like not being in control. He moved aside,
gesturing for her to enter. She did so. He closed the door.
"Bianca,
what is it? You really caught me off guard. Some people need to sleep
you know."
She narrowed her eyes at him. "Oh, I caught
you off guard? I'm sooo sorry."
He chucked tiredly. He
pointed to her. "Don't think I didn't hear the sarcasm in
your voice."
"I came right now because I didn't want
anyone to know I was here."
"You said that already. Tell
me the entire reason."
She tilted her head to the side. "How
do you know that's not the only reason?"
He looked down,
sighing. He turned his head toward her from the side, looking
straight into her eyes.
"We're connected now."
She
closed her eyes. It wasn't from fatigue. She was gathering her
strength.
"I came right now because I knew I would have
strength and you wouldn't."
"That can be changed
easily."
She laughed. "Oh, no it can't, Michael, not
right now it can't. Whenever I see you, you are always preparing to
seduce me. Always in control, and I'm always scared. You told me it
turns you on. Well, now I'm in control. And all you want to do is
go to bed."
She seemed so steady in her words until the last
one. He raised his eyebrow at her.
"Sleep. You want to go to
sleep."
I'm getting to you. He had to give himself a
pat on the back for that one. But, she was right about one thing: he
wanted to sleep.
"So, Binks, did you come here to reiterate
your claim that you are too strong for me?"
She looked down.
He wanted to offer her a seat, but he knew she wouldn't take it.
"I
dream about you."
He raised his eyebrows again. This was too
good to be true.
"I have nightmares about the night you raped
me."
He closed his eyes. Ah, that was it.
"What am I
supposed to say about that? Your welcome for making it memorable?"
He leaned against a chair.
She looked at him quickly, shocked.
"You think I'm thanking you!?"
He shrugged his
shoulders. "It was good. Even if it was forced." He broke
out into a chuckle. "It was really good."
She leaned
against a chair. "You told me when you were done that I wasn't
half bad."
He didn't comment that they were mimicking each
other's movements. "I can change my mind if I want."
She
sat down. "Does that mean you can decide not to pursue me?"
She
realized her mistake just then. She'd given him the power again.
Michael suddenly wasn't tired anymore. In a few quick strides, he
was leaning over her, pinning her to her chair. He rubbed his leg
against her. He let his eyes travel up and down her body. "I'm
not going to stop until I've had you willingly."
She felt
cold and shaky. "I'm gay."
He almost laughed. So was
Lena. "So?"
He was just about to kiss her when-
"I'm
pregnant."
He jerked away, suddenly feeling cold. She
couldn't tear her eyes away from his face. I want to see you
scared. He was shocked. He felt something strange. Fear.
He would never admit it, never show it. But, Bianca knew it.
"You're
scared." She almost felt happy.
"No, I am not." He
said stubbornly, childishly.
She stood up, walked toward him. He
backed up quickly.
"I can see it in you! You've never had
this happen to you! You're always in control!" She was
elated.
"You can't see anything in me-" He started
trying to deny it.
"You said we were connected. And we are,
Michael. Even more so now," she patted her womb, "with a
little Cambias inside me."
He went defensive. "The only
little Cambias I want inside of you is me!"
She smiled at
him. "Suddenly not so great and powerful." With that she
turned and walked out the door.
