Mushrooms continue to sprout all over the bodies of Astrid and Helga, much to their discomfort.
"There's more," said Astrid trying to brush them off.
"Not cool! Not cool!" Helga panicked as she became more visible thanks to the mushrooms. "You can see my body."
They were just browsing on their body but across the entire area.
"This must be her power," Astrid groaned.
Ragnar was flying over the battlefield with Olaf, and they were the only ones who weren't spouting any mushrooms. As they flew around, they could see that one that many places where there wasn't a mushroom sprouting.
"These fungus fields are cropping up on every surface," Ragnar noted.
"So this mess of discussing mushrooms is it?" Olaf asked.
"Yes, a planned attack," said Ragnar as mushrooms began to spread on his body now.
Felicia was dancing around squirting a pair of water pistols at the mushrooms, which seemed to grow even faster when they were sprayed.
"Mr Ionomidotis frondose. Little Tricholoma equestre. Flammulina velutipes and Coprinopsis atramentaria," she said rather excitedly. "That's it, grow up strong! Let's make the world a fungier place to be!"
Felicia's ability allowed her to release spores across her body and instantly grow mushrooms anywhere on any surface. Additionally, the more humility in the air, the faster, the stronger she is. For this reason, she took the name Fungi.
Looking at the monitor, everyone looked a little disconcerting by the mushrooms growing.
"Uh, they got mushrooms growing on their bodies," said Agnar looking quite disturbed. "This is like a serious horror movie."
"Don't worry, the fungus ups and disappears into three hours tops," Yale assured him. "Your teammates will be fine, which is why she doesn't hold anything back."
Then suddenly, they saw mushrooms growing on the camera.
"Look at the growing all over the camera," said Fishlegs.
"Gag," said Ingrid looking as if she was about to be sick.
With all the mushrooms going around, Astrid and Helga lost sight of Nero, who had disappeared into a black mushroom. His power didn't just allow him to go through shadows but anything with a black in colour.
He then began thinking back to when they discussed their battle plans just before the match started.
"Here's plan A," said Kaia. "At first is Nero; he's going to disappear into the shadows and attack Class A by surprise. I have no doubt that Astrid is going to create something to track us down; once they pinpoint our location, then we can launch a sneak attack."
"That's easy for you to suggest," said Nero.
"Spooky," said Felicia.
"But what if I fail at this task?" Nero asked. "I'll be left out in the open."
Kaia smiled cunningly. "They'll have to attack you using lots of light, so it will be obvious to us if you're in trouble. The lights will be a beacon pointing us straight to you and them. Even if Nero fails, we can spring another attack on them."
'Plan A was a bust; my only choice is the fallback for now,' said Nero and continued to move within the shadows of the mushrooms.
Kaia smiled as her plan came together. 'Plan B it is. Felicia, we're counting on you.'
No matter how many of the mushrooms, the rest of their bodies just kept sprouting.
"They won't stop growing!" Helga cried. "I hate this! What's going on?"
'They planned a two prolonged operations that anticipated how we respond to Nero. A wise strategy Kaia.'
Astrid looked at Helga. "Calm down and stay focused; we just need to regroup. Okay?"
"Whack! Thud! Boom! Ahh! Bam, clash!" a voice yelled.
Suddenly something large shot straight towards them and quickly separated them from one another.
"Another assault?" Ragnar gasped as he spun around to avoid getting hit by whatever it was.
It was then that they noticed that what appeared on the battlefield were giant words.
"Why are there words coming out of the ground?" Helga cried.
Zag then popped his head out from behind some pipes where he was hiding. "I am killing it today. The bam effects with extra bam when they went off. It made my heart go kaboom."
Zag had the ability to make sound effects and onomatopoeia from comics come to life. Additionally, depending on the sounds, he could add additional effects. With this power, it made sense that he called himself Comicman.
"Fwoosh, fwoosh, fwoosh! Pow, pow, pow! Thud, thud, thud!" Zag yelled.
Suddenly appearing on the battlefield were even more words which completely cornered Astrid from the rest of her team.
"This is utter madness," said Astrid.
"Astrid! When you go?" Helga panicked.
Olaf tried to bust through the wall with his laser, but he couldn't even deal a small scratch into them.
"Not even my laser can scratch these word things," said Olaf.
"Damp, damp, whoosh… Damp, damp, woosh…" Zag whispered.
The word damp and whoosh then flew towards Helga.
"Yuck, does that say damp?" Helga stared, and then suddenly, all the mushrooms began to grow even faster. She then began running away, screaming. "It's a creepy word humidifier! The mushrooms of multiplying! They're sticking everywhere!"
"Calm down, Invisible Girl!" Ragnar yelled calmly as mushrooms began to grow on him and Olaf as well.
"This is super gross," said Olaf.
"Felicia and Zag came to Nero's rescue, now attacking in waves they are giving Class A team a hard time from a distance," said Blood King proudly. "My kids are showing their superior strength!"
"Again, with a biased commentary!" Ruffnut snapped.
"Yeah, stop!" Class A yelled.
"It's gonna be hard to break those wide-range attacks," said Calder.
"Hiccup, the arena," Fishlegs pointed.
Hiccup nodded. "The word wall separated Astrid from the rest of her teammates, which was their plan from the very start."
'I have no idea where anyone is,' said Astrid. 'Their attacks were leading to this specific outcome.'
Kaia smiled as she looked down at Astrid. 'Time to cut off the head of the snake.'
Kaia then jumped at Astrid. "You're going down!"
Astrid spun around and saw Kaia heading straight towards her as she enlarged her fist. Astrid quickly created a shield blocking her attack, but the sheer force of Kaia's attack was enough to dent it, rendering it useless and knocking her backwards.
'She crumpled the tungsten shield with one hit?' Astrid stared.
Kaia's powers allowed her to enlarge her fists, making them even more powerful. For this reason, she named herself Battle Fist and was an expert on unarmed combat.
"I'm not going to give you time to think of anything!" Kaia yelled as he charged.
Astrid just had enough time to create even more shields, but Kaia's attacks were completely overwhelming.
"We can make it an endurance match if you want to! But you have to use material from your own body to create things! So there's no way you're going to outmatch me, Astrid!"
She then struck asked with a powerful blow pushing her backwards. 'Got a stay on the offensive. I learned that from watching her at the Thawfest Festival. I'm finished if she has time to think. Brute strength is the key!'
She then continued with her assault, and the only thing Astrid could do was endure it.
"She designed a situation where she's got a total advantage!" said Tab. "Her plan was right on the money! What did I say? Our girl is smart and decisive even when she is under pressure. That's a brilliant rep, Kaia, for you!"
"I'm not convinced that this was the smartest move on her part," said Ranger.
Tab turned and looked at him rather confused.
"If Astrid was separated just because they feared her tactics, then they might have misjudged. If they were so worried about Astrid, then their team should have tried to disrupt her strategy from the very start. This predicament is still very well within what she could have anticipated. And since it's within her expectations, she should be able to create a path that will lead her to victory."
Hiccup nodded. "Like I said earlier, Astrid outshines me when it comes to battle strategy. All she needs is the confidence needed to push forwards."
Astrid was holding Kaia back as long as she could. 'Kaia, you got it wrong. The truth is I'm still the inexperienced fool, not you. Even so, you handled yourself and deemed to call me better. So I can't let you see me looking pathetic.'
Kaia finally broke through Astrid's shield and prepared to deal the final blow, but then she realised that Astrid had tossed his shield purposely.
'You can do this,' said Astrid to herself as she began to create something. 'Think of everything cultivated to this point and prove yourself how much you've grown!'
"No way!" Kaia stared as Astrid began creating a large cannon. "A freaking cannon!"
"I held you bay so I could buy time," Astrid smiled. "It takes a while to create something this large."
Meanwhile, in another area, Ragnar and Olaf were flying around the battlefield.
"There is still no sign of Class B," said Olaf.
"And we lost Helga's location as well," Ragnar added. "Shall we regroup with Astrid on the other side of the wall? If we can."
Sadly before they could do anything else, Nero suddenly appeared right in front of them and grabbed Olaf.
"Oh no! Shining Knight!" Ragnar yelled.
Nero then began carrying Olaf away, no doubt to their prison. Ragnar quickly gave chase, but Class B was already one step ahead.
"Fungus Enormous is how we will win!" Felicia cheered.
Suddenly appearing on Ragnar's head were several mushrooms. Not only were they blinding him, but the extra weight did throw him off balance making it difficult to chase after Nero.
"Accursed said mushrooms slowing me down!" Ragnar cursed as he tried to remove them.
"Zoom!" Zag yelled.
The word Zoom then bounced off the word bounce and slammed right into Ragnar. Struck with so much force that he was sent flying and crashed several yards away.
Zag coughed is in rubbed his throat. "Ah, my foot is getting a little horse."
Ragnar picked himself up, and then suddenly he saw standing next to him Helga covered to toe in mushrooms.
"Helga?" Ragnar stared.
Ragnar then began brushing the mushrooms off of her, making sure to stay clear of her chest. 'Astrid is missing, and now Olaf is gone. On top of that, the enemy is hiding themselves and attacking indirectly. Quite a predicament, and they will be quite difficult to best. Felicia… Zag… Nero… if we can't determine the location of these three opponents, this will be the end. We need a plan to pull herself together.'
Astrid had just finished creating her cannon, which had taken Kaia completely by surprise. Kaia quickly called off her attack and put some distance between them. Now the tables were turned, and she was on the defensive.
"Is she insane?" said Tab. "Who is she trying to kill with that?"
"That looks like it packs a big punch," said Agnar.
Hiccup frowned. "Hold on…"
Kaia had been taken by surprise but quickly recovered. 'This has to be a bluff…' Her eyes then widened as she turned towards the word wall. 'Is she planning on breaking through the wall?'
Astrid saw the hesitation in her eyes and used this to make her move. Kaia jumped back only to discover that Astrid had turned the cannon towards the wall.
"Got to stop her!" said Kaia and quickly dashed forwards. 'I'll enlarge my fist in the moment of impact. That might work.'
Astrid then fired, but Kaia saw that she was aiming at the wall rather she was aiming over it.
'She wasn't aiming at the wall?' Kaia stared. 'Then what was she shooting?'
Astrid can use a lot of power to create the cannon, and she was about to lose consciousness, but Kaia was still very much a threat.
'When you turned this into an endurance fight you're good at, I could tell that my defeat was likely,' said Astrid using all the willpower she had to remain conscious. She then used the last of her power to create something as she moved in towards Kaia while she was distracted. 'So in order for us to win…'
Both Ragnar and Helga, both the explosion from Astrid's cannon.
'That explosion just now didn't sound like Zag's work; it came from the other side of the wall,' Ragnar noted. He looked up and saw something flying towards them. 'Is that from Astrid?'
He quickly extended his arms and grabbed the back, which had the words 'Astrid's Lucky Bag' in multicoloured letters.
"Talk about special delivery," Ragnar blinked.
Meanwhile, Nero had just appeared out of the shadow next to Felicia.
"Hey, Felicia," he said in a hushed whisper.
"Speak up, silly; I can't hear you," she said.
"Hmm, I managed to capture the guy twinkles. He's in jail."
"Really?" Felicia beamed broadly. "Nice, Nero. I'm counting on you to capture the other two."
Nero nodded. 'I can't believe I impressed her.'
"As a bonus, opponents don't know where we are," said Felicia as she squatted her water pistols. "So we can keep on attacking."
"Of course," said Nero, but then he sensed something was off. "Huh, hey, Felicia?"
"Yes?" Felicia frowned.
She then followed his gaze down a dark corridor of pipes.
"You don't think Class A knows about this place?" Nero asked.
Flying straight towards them was Ragnar, and he was wearing thermal goggles. With these allowed him to easily time navigate the darkness and locate Class B.
'Thermal goggles, it's much easier to locate our enemies when I have these,' he said.
When Ragnar retrieved Astrid's Lucky Bag, he immediately grabbed Helga and flew them to safety.
"I wonder what, Astrid?" Ragnar asked curiously.
"I'll hold onto it," said Helga taking the back.
Once they landed, they opened the bag and found several cans of some kind of gas, a pair of thermal goggles and a dark cape.
"We've got a dark cape, thermal goggles and ethanol," said Ragnar and his eyes widened. "This is a disinfectant spray!"
"Okay, I guess those thermal goggles are for you, but what about the cape?" Helga asked.
Ragnar thought for a moment, and it only took seconds to realise what Astrid had in mind. "I know exactly what to do with it."
'Even without words, she conveyed her intent,' said Ragnar. 'Astrid, did you have this plan in your head this entire time?'
Zag was hiding behind some pipes when he saw Ragnar flying past. "What the what? Ragnar is heading straight to where Nero and Felicia are. What's he up to?"
"And I'm the one after you," said a voice behind him, making his heart jump out of his chest.
He quickly spun around but found no one as Helga had removed her costume and was now completely mushroom free.
"I thought it was strange why the mushrooms didn't grow on you guys, but it was because you disinfected yourselves!" she said, sounding rather furious.
Zag looked around wildly, trying to find her, though there was no point as she was completely invisible. "Where did you get that?"
"Nah-uh, huh!" Helga yelled. "I'm not telling!"
Zag then felt fisted instead him square on the face, and a split second later, he received another. In no time at all, he was being beaten relentlessly by Helga, and there was no way he could defend against someone he couldn't see.
Ragnar continued making his way towards Nero and Felicia. "Now, we can strike at our discretion!"
Both Nero and Felicia could see Ragnar Shadow heading towards them.
"It does look like he is heading towards us," said Nero.
"There's no way I'm allowing you to escape, not after what you've done," Ragnar vowed. "He's a little something I learned from watching Hiccup."
He then quickly fired a vine and wrapped it around the pipe. He then pulled with all his might increasing his speed until he was directly in front of Felicia. There before she had time to react, he punched her in the stomach so hard that she was knocked unconscious.
"Felicia, no!" Nero cried. 'He's too fast. I can't stay; I need to sink into the shadows.'
"You're not getting away," said Ragnar.
Nero looked up and saw a dark cape directly above him, and he was completely covered. Once he was absorbed into the dark cloak, Ragnar quickly tied it together, trapping him inside it.
"No fair," said Nero.
"If there's nowhere for you to move, then there's no need to fear your abilities," said Ragnar and then picked Felicia onto his shoulder.
"Wow, dang," said Agnar, amazed. "He caught two enemies. He's turned the tables!"
"They could have done it without Astrid's items," Ingrid beamed.
"Helga's doing awesome as well; if they keep going on like this, they can win it four to one," said Hiccup.
"I suppose I should put these two in jail, but I can't leave Helga to fight on her own, especially if Kaia jumps in," said Ragnar as he looked down from where he came. 'Besides, I don't even know Astrid has been put in jail, so even if I put these guys in jail, we'll be even. Can I really take the risk that Helga can hold out?'
Helga, meanwhile, was keeping on the onslaught on Zag, not giving him a chance to counter strike or defend.
"Take this! And that! And some of this!" Helga yelled.
"It's like fighting a ghost that punches really hard!" Zag cried.
'I need to hurry up and finish this dude off, then I can help the others,' said Helga. 'I'm worried about how Ragnar and Astrid are holding up.'
"Invisible Girl is also invincible!" Helga cried.
However, before she could finish Zag off, a very large hand grabbed her, and it belonged to Kaia.
"Sorry, it took me a while," said Kaia, completely out of breath.
Zag fell to the ground, relieved. "Kaia! Why am I glad to see you, but… uh, what's happening here?"
Kaia was wrapped around in chains that were attached to Astrid, who had welded herself to her cannon. Kaia was completely exhausted after dragging Astrid and the cannon.
"Well, I knocked out, but not before she got me," Kaia explained. "We're kind of stuck together. She could have done me a solid and let the cannon fall off. It's hard to drag all this stuff around."
"It also leaves you wide open," said Ragnar, who had just arrived.
Both Kaia and Zag looked up, horrified to see Ragnar standing there with police on his shoulder and holding Nero still trapped in the dark cape. He then quickly dropped Felicia down and jumped at Kaia, raising his fist.
Kaia panicked. 'This is not good. I can't defend myself like this.'
However, before Ragnar's fist made contact, they heard the sound of a horn indicating the end of the match.
"20 minutes meaning the end of the match and with one person in jail, that makes Class B the winners!" Blood King announced.
"Dammit," said Ragnar. "Looks like we lost."
Kaia released Helga and looked and Ragnar kindly. "Maybe, but you almost won." She then turned her eyes to the unconscious Astrid. "Everything she created shows that she was thinking ahead… covering her bases. If this had been real, we would have lost. In the end, we only got lucky."
"Lucky had nothing to do with it! It was all Kaia's plan!" Tab cheered.
"Astrid, I hope you don't get discouraged by this result," said Ranger.
"Our little Valkyrie will become a top-class leader in no time," Midnight smiled.
'They might have lost, but all of them were amazing,' Hiccup smiled. 'It obvious to everyone that they have improved so much.'
'With every step, these kids get closer to embodying what they want to be in the future,' said Stoick.
"With that, the second match is concluded with an overwhelming victory for Class B!" Blood King announced. "Words cannot describe how impressive this showing was!"
"This is getting seriously ridiculous!" Ruffnut yelled.
"Yeah, seriously," the rest of Class A agreed.
"I am so proud of you!" Blood King yelled.
