DK

In a prison in Africa, a lone man sat alone in his cell. A poacher stripped of everything. All his weapons confiscated. His organization collapsed. His reputation as the most terrible poacher the world as ever known completely destroyed. And all because of three kids and their dinosaur friends.

"Grrr." The poacher growled through his teeth, shaking his hands which were in handcuffs. "Those walking fossils ruined my life." He looked down at his hands. "I don't care how long it takes. When I get out of here, I'm going to hunt down every last one of those dinosaurs, kill them all, and mount their heads as trophies in my bedroom!"

Then, in a sudden twist of fate, the wall behind him exploded. The blast knocked the poacher off his seat to the floor. Grunting while adjusting himself, he saw a familiar green-haired women in the whole created by the blast holding a stick of TNT. "You!" He yelled at the woman. "You're the old lady that got me put in here!"

"Mwah?" Ursula said innocently. "Is that anyway to thank the nice lady that's busting you out of here?" She asked rhetorically.

The poacher looked slightly confused. "Why're you breaking me out?"

"I think you'll like the proposition that our boss has in mind for you, Ungaro." Ursula told the poacher. Her face then turned to one of annoyed. "Also." She tossed the stick of TNT in her hand up and down. "I wouldn't call the lady with TNT old."

"Even if I did agree to your proposition, that's a big if, I have no men or any weapons to give in return." Ungaro replied, believing he could trick this woman into helping him further.

He didn't need to. The door to the cell opened and a snipper rifle was tossed at his feet. Zander entered the cell and unlocked the handcuffs keeping Ungaro from using the rifle. "I think you'll see we have that covered." Zander told him. He moved aside to show a large number of poachers that were also locked up standing at the door with Ed and their own guns.

"We bust you guys out of here, and you help us win our little war in return." Ursula explained their bargain. "What do you say?"

Ungaro grabbed the gun and looked at Ursula. "Let me see your boss first."

(Intro Theme)

While the trio were off in their mission, the Alpha Gang's dinosaurs were having their breakfast. The clone plant eaters ate from their trough while the other herbivores ate outside. The carnivores all ate from the same large bowl of meat. And that lead to competition when the pecking order was established.

The bowl was large enough to hold enough meat to last all the predators until lunch, so the problem wasn't that there was not enough food. The problem was only for Gigas, and that's because he isn't a clone. The Tyrannosaurus walked over to the bowl where all the other theropods were currently eating from. But before he could grab a piece, Pyro stepped in front of him. "What'd you think you're doing?" He asked with a fake innocence.

"Um, I-" Gigas started before getting cut off by the Acrocanthosaurus.

"You know the pecking order. We eat first, then you can have the left overs."

"But you guys barely leave me enough 'till lunch!" Gigas pointed out.

"Our genetic make-up means that we require a lot more meat than you do." The Professor told Gigas as he stripped meat off his piece.

"The Professor's right. Our hands are tied here." Pyro said, continuing the feigning. "You'll just have to wait until we've finished."

"But that's not fair!" Gigas complained.

This complaining started to annoy Pyro. "If you really have a problem with how we run things you can always challenge me for leadership."

Gigas growled in return. As much as he wanted to pound that smug theropod's face into the ground he knew he stood no chance against him what so ever. Giving a huff, the Tyrannosaurus backed down and went to get food elsewhere. "Maybe you could try fishing!" Pyro mocked as he left. "I hear hunting's good for you!"

Gigas only growled in response.

DK

A few minutes later, Gigas stood by the pond and waited for any signs of fish. When he finally was able to make out the shape of fish near his position, he lowered his head slowly above the water before striking. This resulted in him catching nothing but a mouthful of mud. "PWAT!" Gigas spit the mud from his mouth and growled in irritation.

"You're never going to kill anything with a performance like that." Brontikens told him without looking down from his treetop browsing. While he and the other non-clone herbivores didn't have the same problem as Gigas, especially Brontikens due to his large size, they preferred to have their meals away from the clones.

"Like you could do any better." Gigas growled at the sauropod.

Nearby, Armatus and Maximus heard the commotion while grazing. "Mate, ya do realize who you're talking to, right?" Armatus asked the Tyrannosaurus rhetorically. "The guy who I can't even count the ways he can kill someone."

"No need to take your frustration out on us." Maximus told Gigas.

"Don't act like you understand my problem!" Gigas yelled at her. "It's the same thing every darn day!"

"Why don't you just go to Helga about it?" Maximus suggested.

"I have. And she hasn't done a thing about it for whatever reason."

"Maybe she doesn't believe you and think you just want to eat more food than is good for you." Armatus guessed.

"That...actually might be the reason. But that still doesn't excuse the fact that everyday I'm going hungry." Gigas was now stomping around angrily. "Where's the justice in that!"

Both Maximus and Aramtus stared at him before Aramtus said. "Mate, we're villains. We ruin justice."

"That doesn't mean I have to suffer starvation!" Gigas added. "We haven't succeeded at anything evil."

Brontikens took a large bite of the tree branch, ripping it off completely. "You're bringing this suffering to yourself."

"What else can I do? The clones are too strong for me to fight. And if I challenge Pyro.." Gigas shuddered at the thought. "He'd kill me without hesitation."

"Gigas has a point. None of us can do anything against those bullies. They've been acting like they own the place ever since they were created." Maximus added.

Brontikens heard that and grumbled in anger. "Care to repeat that." He threatened Maximus.

Instead of feeling fear, the trio of altered dinosaurs all had the same realization. "Wait, you can fight them on our behalf." Gigas realized. "They stay far away from you. If you were to-"

"I do not fight battles for anyone other than myself." Brontikens cut him off as he turned to leave.

"But friends are supposed to help each other out when one's in a tight situation." Armatus interjected.

"I don't have any friends. Only allies." Brontikens responded without stopping.

Once all the poachers were free from prison, they all returned to Zeta Point so Ungaro could meet with Dr.Z. The trio lead the poachers to the main room where Dr.Z was looking at their large map of the world while sitting in a hover chair. "Dr.Z, we're back!" Ursula cheerfully announced.

"I noticed." Dr.Z responded as the chair lowered to ground level and turned around to face the group. He hopped out of the chair and walked straight over to Ungaro. "So you're the leader of the Covert Wilderness Hunting Organization that worked with my team back in Africa."

Ungaro glared at the old man. "What if I was? What's it to you?"

"I don't appreciate you thinking you can go and sell my dinosaurs like common animals. That's the reason I like to keep my distance from poachers; or collectors, as you call yourselves." He paused and turned around, hands folded across his back. "I have a good mind to put you all back where I found you. Yet..." He paused and turned around. "I've been told that you're extremely talented in capturing rare and dangerous animals. That kind of talent can be useful."

"So the only reason you broke us out of prison was so we can do your dirty work for you?" Ungaro guessed Dr.Z's plan.

The doctor shook his head. "My proposition is more of a 'you scratch my back, I scratch yours' type. If you can help us capture my remaining Dinosaur Cards we will gladly help you and your men hunt down any other animal you want."

Just hearing those words brought a wicked smile to the poacher's face. "For nearly a year I rotted in that cell. The only thing I could think of was my revenge on those brats and their scaly beasts for what they did to me!"

"Hmmhmm. I like this guy already." Ursula smirked as she crossed her arms.

"I say it's time for the hunt to begin! Grab your guns; we're back in business, boys!" Ungaro declared to his men.

"Hail Alpha!" The other poachers saluted similar to a certain racist group from the past.

Dr.Z smiled wicked at the new followers. "Good. We could use your help." He pointed to the map which zoomed in on China. "My sources tell me the next dinosaur will appear in that general area. Use whatever you can to bring it back to me alive. Anything even close to death will result in all of you being deported back to prison. Understand?"

"You can count on us, Doctor." Ungaro replied right before his men started to leave to grab their weapons. "And what if the kids show up?"

"Same rule applies to their dinosaurs. As for the brats themselves...well, I believe you should know how to use those things." He referred to the gun Ungaro was tapping on his shoulder, much to the poacher's delight.

In a garden inside a Chinese palace, a monk known as Sanzo Hoshi sat meditating with his disciples. It was completely quiet, with the exception of the buzzing of a few dragonflies. Some of the insects flew around a capsule that was stuck in a tree branch. At least it was stuck until one of the dragonflies bumped into it and caused the capsule to fall to the ground below. The capsule opened when it hit the ground and three cards fell onto the grass. There they glowed and released the dinosaur.

The dinosaur was a large ornithopod. Its underbelly was completely tan while its more noticeable back was a bright red. There was a blue marking separating the red from the tan going along the body, except for the limbs and head, with a pattern of blue spots along the side and the tip of the back being blue as well with bumps. Its forelegs were the same red as the back while its hind legs were a dark green. This dinosaur was a Shantungosaurus.

Like normal when a dinosaur first appears, the Shantungosaurus roared to signal his appearance. This alerted the disciples that were directly in front of him. And they reacted appropriately. "Aaah! Dinosaur!"

"Run for your lives!"

"It's gonna eat us all!"

The disciples all ran into the building to hide. In all the panic, they unintentionally left Sanzo Hoshi behind. The monk hadn't moved at all from his position, so deep in meditation he was unaware of the dinosaur that had appeared. The Shantungosaurus took notice of the monk and turned so he was facing him. The disciples all poked their heads from behind a pillar and looking on in silence with horrified expressions. The breath from the large ornithopod eventually was able to get Sanzo to snap out of his meditation. The monk opened and eye and saw the dinosaur directly in front of him.

However, instead of panicking he gave the dinosaur a warm smile. "Why hello there." He greeted the Shantungosaurus. He got onto his feet and completed the greeting with a bow. "I must say I wasn't expecting to have a dinosaur joining us today."

"Sanzo, what're you doing!?" One of the disciples hissed loudly. "Run before it eats you!"

Sanzo, instead of doing as requested, only laughed. "Ha, ha, ha! Do not fear, my friends. This dinosaur does not wish to harm us. They are good beings in their hearts, and will not attack unless we give them reason to." The monk paused when he heard the sound of a stomach rumbling coming from the dinosaur. The disciples panicked and hid behind the pillar. Again, Sanzo remained calm. "It seems that you are hungry. Please, join me for lunch." He gestured for the Shantungosaurus to follow him inside. The large ornithopod gladly accepted the invitation. The disciples couldn't believe what they were seeing and said nothing.

DK

At the D-Lab, the signal was going off from the Shantungosaur's appearance. Rex along with the chibi dinosaurs waited by the teleporter for Max and Zoe. The doors opened and the new couple came running in. "Sorry we're late!" Max apologized. "We came as soon as we got the signal."

"But we were at the arcade in the Mega Mall, so it took us a little longer than we wanted." Zoe continued for her boyfriend.

"It's fine, guys." Rex assured them. Despite being sincere, his tone was one of impatience.

Max noticed this and took it as his friend becoming jealous of him and Zoe. Something he wanted to avoid. "Rex, I'm sorry we didn't invite you-"

"Max, I've told you before that I'm happy for you two." Rex said with a small smile. While it was true that he did envy their relationship slightly, he was too busy with being Dinosaur King and with school to focus on finding himself a girlfriend. "I'm more worried because of a phone call we got not long after the signal appeared."

"Phone call? What phone call?" The couple asked together before Zoe whispered. "Jinx."

"We received a call from someone in China who reported that the dinosaur is in the presence of monk Shanzo Hoshi." Reese explained. "Apparently, he's invited the dinosaur into his house."

"What?!" Max and Zoe gasped.

"Considering how most of us are like when we awaken, whoever the dinosaur is they'll most likely be going off instinct." Terry said. "And those instincts include defending ourselves if we feel threatened."

"Then we better get moving before they do something seriously bad." Max said as they ran onto the platform and teleported away.

DK

"What?" Dr. Ancient said with confusion at Brontikens' request.

"It's like I said. I wish to take the responsibility of educating Seth's creations upon myself." A full-sized Brontikens explained to Dr. Ancient and Guru. "I doubt I have to explain why allowing Seth or even Dr.Z to do it would be a horrible idea. And you're too busy to add one more responsibility to your list. That is why I believe I'll be the best choice for such a task."

Dr. Ancient put two fingers on his chin as he thought his over. Guru leaned in and whispered into his ear. "Your Highness, it would be just as unwise to give this job to Brontikens. You know that he has interest in taking your throne. He could very easily use them to build an army of followers."

Brontikens didn't quite hear what the smaller sauropod said, but he had a guess. "You have my word of honor as a warrior that I do not intend to use them for my own devices. They will be taught to make their own life choices. Our battle will come at a later date."

Dr. Ancient pondered the information over. Of all the dinosaurs present, Brontikens was the one best suited for the job besides Guru. But since the Dinosaur King needed his advisor with him, he was low on options. "Your request will be granted."

Guru had a worried look on his face while Brontikens lowered his head slightly as a sign of respect. "Thank you, Dr. Ancient. Your Highness."

"And, of course, when the time machine broke they remained here in the clutches of Dr.Z." Brontikens finished the flashback as he drank from the water trough. "And they obey him like a pack of mindless dogs just because he talked sweet to them."

Finishing his drink, the Apatosaurus left to go train. But as he approached the training room, he heard the sounds of a battle going on inside. More annoyed that someone else was using the room during his training time than curious, he walked into the room to discover Gigas, Maximus, and Armatus panting heavily. All three of them looked like they would collapse at any second. Turning his head the opposite direction, Brontikens saw who was responsible. Bailey, Thud, Fang, Slasher (the Clone Anchiceratops), and Screamer all stood on the other side, looking like they had barely broken a sweat. And not just because dinosaurs don't sweat.

"Is that really the best you losers got?" Fang mocked the exhausted trio.

"There's...five...of you, and...only three...of us." Gigas said between breaths. "How do you expect us to fair?"

"Better than this from all your experience." Bailey said before giving a fake gasp of realization. "Oh, wait. You don't have any!" She mocked.

"Yeah! You're dumb!" Thud added.

Bailey only rolled her eyes at his attempt at trash talking. "Shut up, Thud."

"You're the ones who agreed to this fight." Slasher told the trio.

"You and Screamer dragged us here against our wills and wouldn't let us leave unless we did this fight." Maximus retorted. "I hardly see any fault here that is ours."

"There is." Screamer told them. "None of you have gotten any stronger."

With a roar from the Clone Mapusaurus as the signal for attack, the five clones charged towards the trio to finish them off. The trio closed their eyes and winced, waiting for the pain to come. But before they could reach them, Brontikens' tail swept through and caused all the advancing clones to trip. The trio opened their eyes and saw what Brontikens had done. "Oops. My tail slipped." The Apatosaurus told them.

"Now, now, Brontikens." Pyro said as he walked over to the large sauropod, joined by Yeager. "There's no need to interrupt their sparring match like that."

"It was less of a sparing match and more of a beating." Gigas retorted.

"I need to train and I prefer to do it in solitude." Brontikens told the Acrocanthosaurus.

Pyro shook his head. "Tsk, tsk, tsk. Brontikens, Brontikens, Brontikens. You're never going to let go of your foolish desires to become King, are you?"

The atmosphere in the room started to get very cold. Brontikens stepped towards Pyro while the Acrocanthosaurus backed away from the advancing giant. "I've told you all several times that I will become King. And I will defeat anyone who opposes me."

"And you've done nothing to prove to us that you can do either of those." Pyro said. Despite having to back away so he wouldn't get crushed he still seemed very confident. "Face it. You're nothing but a coward."

Those five words made something snap inside Brontikens. "What did you call me?" He dared Pyro to repeat that sentence.

"I know you heard me the first time. You're a coward, Brontikens. How can we expect you to make a better future when you can't even be honest with everyone, including yourself." Pyro stopped backing away and looked Brontikens dead in the eyes.

The Apatosaurus finally snapped and swung his neck at Pyro. Expecting this, the Alpha Acrocanthosaurus dodged both that and the tail swing that followed with ease. "You dare accuse me of cowardice when you've proven to be nothing short of the same thing you accuse me of being?!" Brontikens roared at Pyro.

"At least I don't live a lie." Was all Pyro said in response. He turned around to leave, his pack following him.

But Brontikens was not going to let him get off that easily. "You claim I'm a coward and then retreat like one! If you truly have any honor in you you'd fight me like a man! I CALL FOR A MASHIN-KAI!"

The entire pack froze as those words left the Apatosaurus. Pyro turned around, a evil look on his face. "Sunset. Here. Winner is leader of all the Alpha Gang dinosaurs without question." Was all he said as he left.

The trio could only look in confusion. "What's a Mashin-Kai?" Maximus asked in confusion.

"Don't you three know anything?" Yeager mockingly asked them rhetorically before answering. "A Mashin-Kai is a leadership challenge."

"Now I remember." Armatus said as he recalled hearing about this from one of Brontikens' lessons. "It was mostly used whenever a King was challenged by someone who didn't like his rule. The two would either fight themselves or send in a fighter on their behalf to fight in a one-on-one battle. Winner becomes King."

"So Brontikens basically is putting his entire dream on the line here." Gigas said, looking at the Apatosaurus, who was now beginning his training on some targets, with uncertainty.

DK

Sanzo sat at one end of a large table while the Shantungosaurus stood next to him. The monk was currently eating a bowl of noodles with some dumplings while the Shantungosaurus ate from a large salad bowl. The other people in the room still felt at unease at the sight of a dinosaur, and wild one no less, eating lunch right next to their village leader.

"Are you enjoying your meal?" Sanzo asked the Shantungosaurus. The large ornithopod responded with a roar and nod of his head. "That's good to hear. You know, once our guests arrive we really should come up with a proper name for you." The monk was able to figure out the Shantungosaurus was a male thanks to getting around the language barrier by having him stomp his foot once if he was male and twice if he was female.

Suddenly, the doors to the room burst open and the D-Team ran in. "Whoa! A Shantungosaurus!" Max gasped at the size of the dinosaur.

"Sanzo Hoshi, be careful!" Paris warned him. "You could get hurt!"

"Shantungosaurus, do not panic!" Rex said to the dinosaur, in a tone that might cause him to panic.

The monk and dinosaur look at each other in confusion before both of them started to laugh. "Oh, ha, ha. You children have got it all wrong. This Shantungosaurus, as you call him, is my friend."

"Really?" Everyone said in confusion and amazement.

Aside from Max who said. "Actually, Zoe and Rex are teenagers now, and my birthday is next week."

"I see that my message to you must've been translated incorrectly. Please, join us for lunch as my way of apologizing for making you worry." Sanzo gestured for them to sit in the open seats. Not wanting to come off as rude, the D-Team complied. They all took their seats and the cooks handed them all food that was prepared for them. "Sorry, if this comes off as creepy. It is just that we were expecting you to come and wanted you to enjoy yourselves before you returned home."

"No complaints here." Chomp said as he almost literally dove into the noodles.

Zoe did a traditional Japanese silent prayer before starting on her own meal. "I can't believe you were able to tame that Shantungosaurus." She told Sanzo.

"What's there to not believe? I simply showed him the kindness you show your other dinosaur friends."

"It's not so easy when one of us is usually first released from the card." Ace said.

"When I first got out, I trashed a news studio all for the sake of a joke that wasn't even funny." Spiny added.

"So you follow the rules of shoot first, ask questions later on these missions." Sanzo said, looking slightly disappointed.

"What're you getting at?" Tank asked, showing a slight hint of annoyance.

Sanzo realized his mistake and shook his head slightly to clear his thoughts. "Forgive me if I came off as rude there." He bowed apologetically. "I am a pacifist and hate having to use fighting as a means to end a conflict. I simply expected that given how dinosaurs are just like humans that you all felt the same. It seems I predicted wrong."

While majority of them team felt a little guilty from what Sanzo said, others, like Terry and Tank, took that as an attack. "You weren't there! If we didn't fight back we could've been killed!" Terry retorted.

"You are correct, Terry. I wasn't there. So I cannot say with certainty what you should've done." Hanzo replied.

The Shantungosaurus decided to add his thoughts. [I have no doubt that there were times you had to fight to defend yourselves. But can you say that with complete certainty for every time you've fought and captured a wild dinosaur?] That seemed to get the remainder of the D-Team reflecting. Have they been using unnecessary force this entire time?

The room stayed silent until they all heard the noise of inaudible shouting from outside. "I'm not expecting a crowd." Sanzo said worryingly, getting up to see what the commotion was.

"We'd better go to." Rex said as he got up. "Something tells me that this is regarding the Shantungosaurus."

Everyone went to the front door and opened it up to reveal are frightening sight. Jeeps surrounded the entire building, possibly a hundred or more. In every single one, two or more men carried sniper rifles that were pointed at the group. In the front of it all was Ungaro himself. "Well, well, well. Looks like we'll get double the reward for bagging all these beasts." He bragged.

"Ungaro!" Chomp remembered the poacher.

"Glad to see that I haven't been forgotten. I was a little worried my time in prison might've ruined my reputation." Ungaro smiled cruelly, leaning on the windshield of his jeep.

"What're you even doing here?!" Max demanded.

"Isn't it obvious? Our new contractor wants your new friend over there, and I'm just happy to not only get back into the hunting game but also have some sweet revenge!"

"New contractor?" Max repeated.

"I bet it's the Alpha Gang." Rex said.

Just as Ungaro was about to order the attack to start, Sanzo Hoshi stepped forward. "Stop this, all of you! You should be ashamed of yourselves! Are money and revenge the only things that matter to you? Can't you see what you're doing is wrong?"

"Oh, I can see. I just don't care." Ungaro waved the monk off. "Now get off your soapbox before you get hurt." At this, the guns started to click.

Sanzo knew that these men were not going to surrender peacefully and had to back down. "D-Team, it looks like you'll have to fight these men to save your new friend." He told them as he got out if their way.

"But didn't you just say-"

"I know what I said, and I still believe violence shouldn't be the first answer to a problem. But I also believe that there are time you have to defend yourself and use force. This is one of those times." Hanzo explained.

"Still." Zoe said as she looked at all the jeeps. "It doesn't look good for us."

"Even with the Shantungosaurus helping us we'd be heavily out numbered." Ace calculated.

Rex also knew this and turned to Max and Zoe. "You guys have your Assist Moves?" The two of them responded by pulling out their Assist Move Cards. "Good. We'll need them if we're to stand a chance."

The guns were now all pointed at the Shantungosaurus. "Fire!" Ungaro ordered his men.

"DINO SLASH!"

The bright light from the summoning blinded them men and forced them to shield their eyes, preventing them from using their guns. When the light died down, that's when things started to get good.

Terry charged straight towards a jeep. The men in the jeep panicked and were unable to aim their guns properly. They quickly jumped out just before Terry crushed it beneath his foot. Spiny, being even larger than Terry, mimicked what the T-Rex was doing. Of course this wouldn't defeat so many jeeps without them getting hurt, so the D-Team also took a more distant approach. "Lightning Strike!" Max called out. Lightning gathered in Chomp's horns before he fired at one of the jeeps, causing it to explode just as the men jumped out.

"Biting Wind!" Rex called out. Blades of wind appeared from behind Ace as they sliced the jeeps in half. Tank took a more offense approach and dove straight into the mass of jeeps, smashing any with her weight and tail.

One group of poachers tried to shoot Terry while he was busy crushing jeeps, but the Velociraptors appeared and grabbed their guns with their teeth, disarming the men. Some poachers tried to shoot Chomp and Ace, but Pawpaw always jumped in front of the bullets before they hit, his armor making them bounce off like pellets. Futaba gathered water for his Super Cannon and fired, hitting one of the advancing jeeps. This caused the jeep to spin out of control and crash into another.

Any other jeeps that were advancing found their hoods getting crushed by Paris and the Shantungosaurus as they stayed back to protect the kids and Sanzo. From his jeep, Ungaro could only watch in frustration as his convoy grew smaller and smaller. "Errrr!" He gripped his binoculars so tight they broke. "Those dang brats. I didn't come all this way just to run from a bunch of stupid animals." He pulled out a walkie-talkie and yelled into it. "Send in the choppers!"

Like an approaching storm, ten, possibly twenty, helicopters came flying in. The man inside them didn't waste any time and started firing on the dinosaurs. "Retreat!" Terry cried as he and the other dinosaurs in the offensive squad ran to avoid the bullets raining from above.

"We got you, guys!" Rex called out to them as all the dinosaurs were recalled with the exception of Paris.

"We need to take out those helicopters before we can send anyone back in." Zoe said as she got out the Move Card she was saving. "Luckily we have just the Move for that. Metal Wing!"

The three Pteranodons appeared from behind Paris and flew up to the helicopters. "Turbo, you take those of the left flank. Glider, the right. I'll take the center." Jet instructed his crew.

"Yes, Alpha!" The two other Pteranodons responded as they dispersed for their respective targets. Their wings glowed green and they sliced through their first set of helicopters easily, causing the machines to explode. However, things got complicated once the poachers started to catch onto what the pterosaurs were doing and started circling them from behind. With the trio in a more vulnerable position, the poachers open fired on them. "Aah!" Glider screamed as a bullet struck his arm. Without support from one of his wings, the Pteranodon fell from the sky. Turbo tried to catch him, but was shot in the arm as well. This left Jet to have to save his partners. Spinning as to avoid the bullets, Jet caught both of the falling Pteranodons on his back and was able to soften their fall as he crash landed.

Thankfully, he crashed near the D-Team and they immediately ran over to check on the Pteranodon leader. "Jet, are you okay?!" Zoe almost cried as she ran over to check them.

"I'm fine, Zoe." Jet assured her as he got up and checked his wings. "There's a small scrape on my right wing, but it shouldn't keep me grounded." Right after he said that, Turbo and Glider glowed green and formed into a small sphere of light. "Those two should be fine in there." Jet told them. "That's just what happens when dinosaurs share a card."

"Jet, maybe you should sit the rest of this out." Max told him.

"I agree." Rex said. "We have the Shantungosaurus. Let's just teleport back to the D-Lab before they can hurt him."

"With all due respect, Your Highness, these men won't stop even if we retreat. Chances are they'll take their anger out on the people here." Jet explained.

"But you can't take on all those helicopters alone!" Paris told him sternly, hoping it would change his mind.

Then the Shantungosaurus stepped up. [He won't have to. I feel two presences in me that belong in the air.] Before anyone could question him on what he meant, the Shantungosaurus glowed green and bellowed.

Behind him, two pterosaurs appeared. From below, they looked pure white. But their backs were a yellowish-green with large red markings on their wings. Their beaks weren't as sharp as the Pteranodons, and their crests were also different. It was a red-pink with yellow that went from the nose to the back of the head, less pointed than the Pteranodons. "Tupuxuara!" Max identified.

The Shantungosaurus gave a roar and the two of them immediately went to work. One dove down before beginning to ascend from beneath the helicopters. She went straight through one and caused it to explode. She descended again and did the same trick again, this time with more helicopters in range. While it looked like she was biting off more than she could chew, six other Tupuxuara appeared next to her; clones of herself. They all formed a circle and began spinning around before each of them made contact with a helicopter and made it explode. When the explosion cleared, the clones disappeared and only the original remained. "That was Green Impulse." Paris told the team.

The other Tupuxuara took a different approach. She attacked the helicopters head on with lightning speed that it almost looked like she was using Ninja Attack. After taking out all but two, she ascended into the air before flying back down and slicing one of the remaining helicopters with her wings. "And that was Tupuxuara Dive!" Paris said.

"Awesome! Now there's only one helicopter left!" Max cheered, pumping his fist. "Go for it, Tupuxuaras!"

The Tupuxuara heard the cheer and were about to attack the remaining helicopter, but an ugly problem rose its head. [I'll take this one. I'm better at this.] The one from Tupuxuara Dive said.

[Excuse me?!] The one from Green Impulse shrieked. [I clearly took out more of those whirly-things! I should be the one to do it.]

[You must be really bad at counting, Sis. I clearly took out more. I almost was the faster of us.] She said proudly.

This only irritated her sister more. [Why you!] The two Tupuxuara sisters then proceeded to start fighting each other. They rammed into each other from above or below many times, depending on which Move Card they're a part of, before getting into a stalemate and began pecking each other from a close distance while also trying to scratch the other with their talons like two fighting eagles.

This sudden development confused those below. "What's going on?" Max asked.

"Stop it, you two! The enemy's the helicopter, not each other!" Rex tried to order them to stop, but it was to no avail as they couldn't hear him.

[I fear those two possibly might actually be enemies.] The Shantungosaurus said. [And since I was not summoned by whatever you kids use, we cannot simply call them back. You have to defeat me and card me so they can stop their fighting.] He told Paris, readying himself for the attack.

"What?!" Paris gasped at the idea. "No! I couldn't do that!"

"Won't matter. If we do that, the cards will literally fall right into the hands of the poachers." Jet said as he prepared to get airborne. "I said I'd keep fighting, and I'll do it." He said before taking off, ignoring the calls of protest from below.

"Jet, no!" "Come back!"

Things only became more drastic when the helicopter pilot fired a net onto the fighting sisters and caught them both. This only increased the fighting between the two pterosaurs. Jet saw this and began to pick up speed. Despite his injury, he flew as fast as he could and sliced the rope holding the net with his wing.

The net opened up and the Tupuxuaras were free. Unfortunately, they now started arguing about whose fault it was for them getting caught in the first place. Jet ignored their squabbling and turned his attention to the pilot in the helicopter. He flew up to the cockpit and stuck his long beak in. He ripped the seatbelts off and grabbed the pilot, yanking him out of the flying vehicle. With no one piloting it, the helicopter crashed into the ground below. "Great job, Jet!" Paris cheered.

"Now let's send these jerks packing!" Zoe exclaimed. "Big Foot Assault!"

Gertie's large foot appeared from the sky and she landed right in front of Ungaro. The poacher looked up at the massive sauropod, shaking with fear, unable to say anything. The Seismosaurus raised a foot and the men in the jeep immediately bolted before she crushed it underfoot. "Retreat!" Ungaro screamed, throwing another poacher out of his jeep before driving it far away. The other poachers immediately began following suit. Jet dropped the man in his mouth on the ground and he too joined them. Soon the poachers were nothing but dots in the distance as they ran further and further away.

Once they were gone, Jet had one last thing to do. "Sorry, ladies. But you've both earned yourselves a well deserved punishment for this senseless fighting!" He told them, even though they clearly didn't hear him, as he descended upon them in an Aerial Strike. He struck both sisters and they fell to the ground, returning to their cards before they hit.

Jet caught them in his beak and flew back over to the others. "Jet, that was amazing!" Max exclaimed when he landed. "First you were all 'Pheew'! And then you were all 'Wheew'!" He mimicked what he saw like an excited toddler, hand motions and all.

"Thank you, Max." Jet said weakly, panting heavily. "But I believe I need some serious rest after a mission like that."

"And no one else deserves it than you." Zoe said as she recalled him and his battle brothers, the trio merging back into the card in her hand.

"You young ones performed greatly out there." Sanzo congratulated them.

"Thanks, Sanzo." Rex blushed. "And thanks for giving us a bit of a eye opener." He looked down, a bit guilty as he thought about previous missions

Sanzo put a hand on the blonde's shoulder and made him look up at the smiling monk. "Do not take what I said too seriously, young king. We all have our own beliefs. That is just part of being human. It is how you practice those beliefs that defines your character."

"...I'll keep that in mind."

"What's this about you saying you're sorry?" Nessie asked. The team had gotten back from China with their new friends: Confucius the Shantungosaurus and the Tupuxuara sisters; Flora (Green Impulse) and Fauna (Tupuxuara Dive), when they asked several of the herd to meet with them by the waterfall in the sanctuary.

"While we were in China, we met this monk who made us realize we weren't being fair to you guys when we first met." Max explained. "Shoot first, ask questions never."

"Despite his attempts to comfort us, I still feel that we should apologize for attacking you." Rex said as all three kids bowed apologetically. "We're sorry." They said together.

The other dinosaurs said nothing and looked at the three in confusion before they all burst out laughing. "Bwahahaha! You really think I hold a grudge over that little fight!" Sweet Tooth laughed. "I already told you I would've done the same if I was in your shoes."

"I was so angry I would've killed you if you didn't fight back." Comet told them.

"I wanted to kill you." Diamond said, earning several glares from her peers. "I said wanted."

"I definitely was panicking so much I would've probably attacked you." Teddy admitted.

"The same could be said for me." Salty added.

"I refused to come peacefully. And I still stand by that decision." Boulder said.

"...Do I even?" Torch rhetorically asked.

The kids seemed confused at the dinosaurs lack of grudges. "I told you it wasn't a big deal." Terry said to them.

Confucius saw the kids confusion and offered some wisdom. "Young ones, while we dinosaurs may be evolved, deep down we are still animals. Many dinosaurs enjoy roughhousing each other. I myself don't mind a little sparring match as exercise now and again."

"So stop worrying about fighting us when we first appear because it's basically just how you can talk to us without the stones." Lola added.

"If you truly feel that way." Rex said quietly. He then smiled at his subjects. "Thank you."

Things seemed like they were peaceful at the D-Lab. That is until the familiar squawking of Tupuxuaras was heard. "That fish was mine!" Fauna yelled at her sister as she chased her around over Flora eating a fish Fauna was going to eat.

"I guess I'm just faster than you!" Flora countered. It seemed that those two were going to take some time to end their sisterly debates

At Zeta Point, the Alpha Gang dinosaurs all formed a half circle around the spot where Brontikens and Pyro were gonna duel for leadership of their pack. "Aww, man. This is gonna be epic, mates!" Aramtus shook with excitment.

"Pyro's so gonna get his ass kicked!" Maximus mimicked the Stegosaurus.

"Yeah." Gigas said with less enthusiasm. He looked over at Pyro, who was chatting with Yeager before the match started. He didn't know what they were saying, but he felt it wasn't good.

Suddenly, the clones began chanting. "Mashin-Kai. Mashin-Kai. Mashin-Kai." That was the signal that the match was about to begin. Both combatants entered the ring.

Neither of them said anything, even after the chanting stopped. They barely even moved. "I hope you've had a nice nap." Pyro finally spoke up to Brontikens. "Because it's time for you to wake up from your silly dream!"

That was the signal as Pyro bursted towards the Apatosaurus. Brontikens countered his attack by slightly raising himself onto his hind legs and blocking Pyro's head with his chest. The two struggled before Brontikens batted Pyro away with his head like a golf ball. The Acrocanthosaurus was sent flying into a nearby wall. "Ooh! That's gotta hurt." Maximus winced.

Pyro got back up and went in for a tail swipe, knocked the Apatosaurus back a few inches before ramming him with a headbutt. Brontikens stumbled, but regained his ground. Just in time for Pyro to leap onto his back and use a Fire Blaster right on his face. Brontikens roared in pain as he tried to shake Pyro off, but the Alpha Dinosaur didn't budge. Seeing only one way to get him off, Brontikens glowed rainbow colors as six orbs appeared on his back.

Knowing what was coming, Pyro leapt off. But instead of getting out of the way, he landed in the direct path of the attack. As Brontikens prepared to fire his attack, Pyro's sail glowed as he prepared his counter attack. Brontikens fired Spectral Destroy at Pyro. Pyro responded with another Fire Blaster. The fire went straight through the beam, protecting Pyro and hitting Brontikens dead center. "What?!" The non-clone dinosaurs gasped. "How is that possible?!" Brontikens demanded to know.

Like a ninja, Pyro was suddenly behind Brontikens, glowing red, and grabbed him by the tail. "I told you, Brontikens. You're nothing but a weakling." The Acrocanthosaurus activated Dino Swing and actually swung the Apatosaurus with enough force to slam him into the wall across from him.

Brontikens slowly fell to the ground as Pyro prepared his finishing attack. "You know, when I saw Terry use this Move I was amazed he could pull it off so flawlessly. Able to use it and keep battling." A large ball of fire began to form in Pyro's mouth. "Power like that is someone deserving of being a king. You could never gain such power whatever you do." The ball began growing larger and larger. "Stop pretending you're all powerful. You're just as weak as your buddies over there. You might as well have died in the desert." Brontikens' eyes widened as he never told anyone about his past. Anyone but... no, he wouldn't have told him. So how did he-"Fire Scorcher!" Pyro roared as he released the meteor.

Brontikens could tried to get up and dodge, but a sudden pain in his back leg prevented him from doing so. The fire wall surrounded the Apatosaurus as the meteor fell down upon him. Through the explosion that followed, all anyone could here were the screams of pain from the victim of the attack. "GAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!" The light and fire died down, revealing a large crater with the Apatosaur's card in the center. The battle was over. Pyro had won.

"Pyro! Pyro! Pyro! Pyro!" The clones cheered as Pyro laughed mockingly.

"Ahahahahaha! See that?! That is what true power is!" He turned around to leave with his pack following him. "Make way for Pyro! Leader of the Alpha Dinosaurs! The true future Dinosaur King!"

All that remained behind were the trio of altered dinosaurs. "I can't believe this." Gigas said as they looked at the large crater Pyro made.

"I thought no one could handle Brontikens so easily." Maximus said.

"Yeah." Armatus agreed, though his gaze was at Pyro and Yeager. The two of them shared a look that made the Stegosaurus glare with suspicion.

Like in the D-Lab sanctuary, the powers of Zeta Point eventually released Brontikens from his card. The Apatosaurus never looked so defeated. The trio wanted to say something, but Brontikens beat them to the punch. "I...don't...need...your...pity." He breathed out as he went over to his sleeping quarters. The door closed in and the Apatosaurus was blocked off from everyone else. The trio could only watch in silence. Inside his room, Brontikens did something he swore never to do again since he was a child. He cried. His dreams for the future destroyed like him.

Next Time in Dinosaur King:

Gigas: We need to cheer the guy up. I can almost barely recognize him

Armatus: I have an idea!

Brontikens: What is this?

Armatus: Welcome, Brontikens. Prepare for an evening-

Maximus: It's only one PM

Armatus: Afternoon of raiding dungeons and slaying dragons!

A/N: Welp, now I can add 500,000 words to this story.

Boy did stuff go down in this chapter. The Mashin-Kai (a combination of Mashindano and Agni Kai) was probably one of the most intense scenes in this story so far.

The character of Sanzo I changed around a bit. I didn't want him to come off as the annoyance he did in cannon and to actually have his words sparking something with the D-Team. These words reflect my own beliefs. Don't worry, the D-Team will still fight wild dinosaurs. It's a key part of the franchise, and I'm not removing that anytime soon.

As for the new dinosaurs: Confucius got everything from one of the Shantungosaurus trading cards I saw on the DK wiki, while the Tupuxuara sisters I got some help by HunterHQ with their names. As for why I made them sisters, gender balance.

I don't really have anything else to say about the poachers except expect to see them quite a bit, but not too much. I believe I've talked about everything.

Happy Holidays.
