251 million years ago, the Earth experienced an event like nothing it had before; the Great Dying. Over ninety percent of all living things died out, and the Earth was transformed into a desert wasteland. How anything survived the event was nothing short of miraculous. But what was even more amazing was the recovery the planet went through.

No one knows how it happened, but it is believed that from within the Earth itself, seven stones formed and helped the Earth recover from the disaster. Six of the stones contained the powers of the six elements of nature: Fire, Water, Lightning, Earth, Grass, and Wind. The seventh was supposedly meant to be the balance. While the first six brought creation and life with their powers, the seventh brought destruction and death.

And it was out of these stones that two beings came to be; siblings Seikatsu and Shi. Seikatsu came from the six elemental stones, while Shi emerged from the seventh. Using her powers, Seikatsu brought life back to the earth. Soon the land and seas recovered, and life could properly start again. Due to his powers being the opposite of his sister's, and the world not needing any more destruction, Shi's role was greatly minor, if he even had one at all.

But, by using all this power, Seikatsu had greatly weakened herself. If she was to survive and continue to use her powers for the better of Earth and its creatures, she needed to go somewhere to heal. Thankfully, there was such a place; the Time Vortex. With help from her brother, the two of them were able to open a portal and flee into the near endless void. There, Seikatsu's powers would ultimately return to full power.

Eventually, the two of them thought it would be safe to venture back out into the world again, so they reopened the portal exited back into Earth, millions of years after they had vanished. And much had changed during their absence.

Evolution had taken place, species came and went, and out of this came a new species of animal that would change the course of history like never before; the dinosaurs.

However, the dinosaurs back then were not the same as they are today. In those days, it was every species for itself. Carnivores and herbivores were in an endless struggle for survival, with carnivores going after the herbivores for the sole purpose of food to survive. Of course, what separated the dinosaurs from the other animals that lived at the same time wasn't their strength or their growing sizes. It was their intelligence.

Through some form of lobe in the brain that has never been replicated before or after in any other animal, the dinosaurs had the ability of telepathic like speech. And it was because of this, they were able to eventually develop a common language amongst themselves, though that was unintentional as majority of the tribes simply copied what they saw with the first speakers.

Unfortunately, their lives were all about to change drastically. The tribes all fought each other violently over whatever territory they could take. And it was through this fighting that consequences started to rise. The land had becomes damaged once again, and even when healing started to occur, the war would just ravage it back into a wasteland.

Eventually, one Eoraptor, the leader of his tribe, would notice the destruction the violence was bringing and tried to put a stop to it. He gathered the three waring species in the area: the Eoraptors, the Liliensternus , and the Gojirasaurus, for a large meeting to discuss possible peace.

At first the other dinosaur leaders thought the Eoraptor was crazy and possibly considered having him as food. But the small theropod had a way with words that convinced the other two leaders to meet and work out a form of peace.

And so the three tribes gathered. There, the Eoraptor convinced the rest of the respective tribes that the war had to end if they were to ever live again in tranquility. So the process of reconstructing the world had begun. It was not an easy process, finding food and water for everyone was a daunting task. But the Eoraptor led them all on, convincing even more tribes, even the herbivores, to join their cause of peace. Even the pterosaurs of the air and the marine reptiles of the sea joined in, though the latter had minimal contributions due to being water bound.

After many years, slowly a green paradise began to form. For his efforts of leadership, the dinosaurs of the world wanted to make the Eoraptor their leader. And so, the first Dinosaur King had been chosen.

And just as the ceremony had started, that was when Shi and Seikatsu had returned. The sight of the two beings was something none of the dinosaurs had ever seen before. No one knew what they were or how to describe them, to this day no one knows why their forms are that of phoenixes, and many began to panic. But the Dinsoaur King stood tall and asked the two their business.

While Shi supposedly took offense to the challenge from a tiny dinosaur, Seikatsu just laughed warmly. It was then they introduced themselves and gave the dinosaurs their story. Seikatsu revealed that while they were in the vortex, they had been watching the Earth fall and recover again. As a sign of gratitude from both of them, the two beings combined their powers and struck a piece of iron. On that piece of black iron, they fixed its shape so that it would fit around the Eoraptor's head. They also added seven small stones to it. To the right, from furthest to nearest from the center, were a purple, blue, and red stones, while on the right were a green, white, and yellow stones. And in the center as a glowing stone that combined all six colors into one, almost like that of a rainbow. They presented this to the Eoraptor as the Crown of the Dinosaur King, and the now King Eoraptor accepted it as Seikatsu herself placed it on his head.

It was then that once again Seikatsu started to feel very weak. Shi looked at her with concern. It would seem that even with all the time they spent in the Time Vortex, pun unintended, her powers were still limited. He even felt his own powers getting weaker. They would have to return to the Time Vortex, and possibly stay there, never returning to Earth again.

But he knew that while the dinosaurs could handle this disaster, another, much greater one could come. A large war wasn't enough to damage the whole planet. It was as if the elements themselves were starting to play a part in the hardships, as he had noticed by the large fires, lightning storms, and hurricanes. Even the growth of plants was becoming dangerously rapid and actually killed dinosaurs.

It was then he told the King about the stones and their powers over the elements. He deduced that if the dinosaurs could locate the stones and place them in secure locations. He hoped, from there, that Seikatsu could still tap into their powers from the Time Vortex, and control their creation.

The dinosaurs agreed and immediately began this campaign once the two beings disappeared again. It took hundreds of years, kings coming and going, before all seven of the stones were located and placed into shrines that would hold them for the next one-hundred-fifty million years.

However, no life lasts forever, not even Seikatsu's, and eventually she herself died. Due to a link they had, Shi himself died at the exact same time. But like the sun, they would rise again as new beings. Now, the Seikatsu and Shi before them were nothing more than memories that they could tap into. And the new Seikatsu and Shi used that knowledge to use the Cosmos Stones.

And so, once again, Seikatsu would flourish the world with the elements and her creation. But now Shi was more active, too. He would balance out her creation with destruction, to keep the elements from going out of control and harming the Earth again. However, due to his lack of connection to the other Cosmos Stones, this job was not an easy one, and many hard tasks he took up required Seikatsu to step in and finish the job for him. We'll get back to this later.

Once all the stones were found and placed into shrines, the Triassic gave way into the Jurassic; a new era for the dinosaurs. The once small green paradise now covered the entire northern hemisphere, and many new species now began to populate the Earth. However, this came at a costs as the species of the Triassic now became extinct.

This created a problem for the position of King as before hand it was always the Eoraptor's son who would take over. Thankfully, the panic didn't last long. Not long after he was crowned King, the Eoraptor created a council of his most loyal friends and followers to help him rule, claiming that such a job was impossible for any dinosaur to handle alone. And while the position of King was always though birthright, Council positions, which usually were at about nine excluding the King himself and his chosen Queen should he have one, were chosen by the King.

So the Council remained, and it was them who decided how the next King would be crowned. A competition would be held, in which any dinosaur the Council felt was worthy would compete for the thrown in a series of challenges. Challengers would only be allowed entry through a Council member hand picking them. And after the challenges selected were completed, assuming more than one candidate successfully passed all of them, they would ask the populous watching who they believed was most worthy. And the one they believed was worthy would become the new Dinosaur King.

Still, any dinosaur held the right to challenge the King for his position if they disapproved with his rule. If the King chose to accept, which many generally did out of fear of being called cowards if they refused, then they and the challenger, or someone they chose to fight in their place, with battle either to the death or until one surrenders. If the challenger won, they would be crowned the next King, but should they lose the consequences would be harsh and extreme.

The Jurassic gave way to the Cretaceous, and the world once again transformed. Gone was the large desert in the South, now the Earth's biomes were all lush and green, with the exceptions of smaller deserts and the frozen poles. And once again the species of dinosaurs increased and replaced those of the Jurassic.

But the peace would not last, as the continents were also now breaking up, creating large seas that formed into oceans, separating the dinosaurs in the North, South, the East, and the West. At first, pterosaurs and trained marine reptiles were used to communicate messages between continents. But this was proving to be too much for the King to handle as many messengers never returned or even gave their messages. So, the other three continents created their own Councils and chose their own Kings.

So, the four continents lived in peace, separate but equal. But as time went on, the continents began to shift again. Now, with some newly discovered mapping, pathways to other continents were being discovered. This caught the attention of the Western King; an Eocarcharia. He believed that it was time reunite the world under one king, which he chose to be himself. Gathering the largest army he could, he went on a huge conquest the world had never seen before.

Dinosaurs panicked any time his army got near and many bravely tried to resist the Eocarchia's rule, and the war resulted in many deaths. His army conquered the North, the East, and was just about to take the South before the Eocarcharia mysteriously disappeared in a battle and was presumed dead.

With no leader, his army fell about and the Southern King took command of all of his conquered territories, deciding to return to a one Dinosaur King system of ruling since they would now reach the other continents. But, as expected from you by now, the peace didn't last long.

Going back to Seikatsu and Shi, Seikatsu was being praised by the dinosaurs as the goddess they saw her as, with annual ceremonies containing celebrations, tournaments, feasts, and offers of game and fruits. As for Shi, his role of protecting the Earth was becoming forgotten about more and more with every passing incarnation. And as more incarnations came and went, the more they realized and would tell this to the current one.

Eventually, one incarnation finally snapped began to use his powers to plague the Earth, increasing volcanic activity that poisoned the air, sending down a barrage of diseases, blocking rain and creating droughts, and doing something unthinkable and used the Cosmos Stones to send massive natural disasters upon the dinosaurs that ignored him and his efforts to protect them.

But Seikatsu always caught wind of this and used her powers to repel the curses Shi brought down. She begged her brother to not lose sight of their purpose. But after seeing how her savings only increased her popularity, and he wasn't even seen as the villain was the last straw.

Grabbing the largest asteroid he could find in space, Shi guided it towards Earth. Seikatsu saw the oncoming disaster and attempted to repel it like all the curses before. But this time Shi himself interfered and attack her. Every time Seikatsu thought she fought him off and tired to get back to the asteroid, Shi would strike again. Eventually, the asteroid made contact with Earth, creating an extinction almost on par with the Great Dying.

Shi celebrated his completed revenge, but had left himself open from a now furious Seikatsu. Using all the power she could muster, she locked Shi away into the seventh Cosmos Stone, knowing that killing him would only create a new one. As a last act of mercy, she put him into a deep sleep, so he wouldn't suffer from the isolation any more than he already has.

But the damage was already done, and Seikatsu could only watch as the cries of the dinosaurs got quieter and quieter until the inevitable haunting silence fell over the Earth. She knew she could do nothing to save them. In fact, she vowed never to use her powers again after one last time, so she would never risk becoming like her brother. She trapped the dinosaurs panicked thoughts and cries and put them in stone resembling her elements. The stones were then buried under the Earth, awaiting for someone with the power to help to discover them.

True to her own word, she locked herself away from the world into the Time Vortex. With Shi locked away in the Cosmos Stone, which was now scattered along with the rest across the globe, the cycle of reincarnation was paused. So Seikatsu watched as the Earth recovered, species came and went, and humans evolved. She knew after a while of watching these humans that one of them would eventually be the one who would find the Stone Plates and return the dinosaurs to Earth, possibly even learning to live together.

However, she still kept herself hidden from the world. It was only with the discovery of time travel that she was eventually forced to take action. By now, a subspecies of human had appeared through genetic mutation that people were calling guardians due to their wings reminding them of angels and gargoyles. Seikatsu, wanting to keep her promise to herself, chose specific guardians to be the ones to patrol the Timeline and correct the anomalies that were starting to form now with time travel being more common.

But there was another problem. After millions of years in their own individual timelines, the Cosmos Stones, each hidden somewhere in the Timeline, began to activate again, creating events that would nearly destroy Earth. These guardians would have to prevent those catastrophes from happening and retrieve the stones to stabilize them once again, with minimal success in the latter.

And soon, the Stone Plates would be discovered in the year 2126 by a human known as Dr. Ancient.

And the rest is prehistory.

A/N: Whoa! This was an exposition dump. And that is exactly why I made this bonus chapter.

This chapter helps explain things so the audience will know about certain details going forward, so that way I don't have to waste too much time in chapters explaining things. Think of it like World or Remnant, only hopefully with less homework to remember.

One thing I forgot to mention in my previous A/N that I added but might have too late is about the new Discord server. For those who aren't aware, I started a Dinosaur King Retold fan club on Discord. If you wish to join, go to my Deviantart page: Flamewarrior04 and you should find the link in my journals.

And for those of you wondering, don't worry, next time will be the real next episode. This was just important stuff to get through.
