Previously on the Jedi and the Mandalorian...

"Hmm…"

"No." he said to her, "Not now. Let them go."

"Are you sure that's a wise idea Professor?" Glynda asked

"How could you all act careless about this? These people are out there fighting. Fighting a battle that we should be fighting ourselves! The White Fang's raids have been decreasing, and dust shipments have halted."

"What's your opinion on this Ice Queen?" Coco then asked Weiss, who glared at the use of her unlucky nickname.

"Well, obviously these people need to be apprehended." she began, "They're attacking my family's company. Like Blake said, we can't ship dust into Vale. Because of them we cower in fear. They deserve to be arrested and tried for their crimes."

"Alright let's not jump to any conclusions ladies."

"My squad has worked with Atlas before. General Ironwood? He's unstable, any major news can make him go over the edge. Imagine what would happen if he discovered the greater galaxy, or even contacted the Empire."

"Anyone, linked to Atlas, the SDC, or even huntsmen academies, cannot be trusted."

"What?" Blake asked, "What is it?"

"Its...its a Jedi Temple…"

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Maul's voice echoed out in the hall, "How much is she worth to you!? How much!?"

"S-Sa-bine…"

He then fell on his knees and passed out on the ground.

"Ezra!"

"Get him to his room, I'm preparing the ship."

"Why?" Ruby asked, "Where are we going?"

"There is only one place left…"

RWBY: The Jedi and the Mandalorian

Chapter 11 - The Headmaster

Premise: The crew of the Gauntlet seek help from an ally, but can they trust them?

Flashback...

Snow fell quietly from the gray sky as it covered a Mandalorian stronghold. Within one of its various rooms, a man, clad in noble attire rather than beskar armor, sat in his studies. That was until he heard a quietly giggle.

The man looked up and looked around the room before looked back down at his datapad. Then he heard the giggle once again, smiling he looked underneath the table he was sitting at and saw the form of a young girl, no older than five.

"Well, hello ad'ika." he chuckled as he smiled

"Hi." the girl replied with a big smile

"What are you doing out of bed?" the man asked

"Couldn't sleep."

"Well, let's get you back to bed."

Present Day...

The sky was pitch black, with small twinkling stars scattered around Remnant's shattered moon as the Gauntlet's engines roared through the sky. The ship had just departed Vytal little over a half an hour ago, and was now heading south towards the City of Vale.

Sabine was sitting in Ezra's room, looking over the young Jedi's unconscious body. The crew did the best they could to treat Ezra's wounds, he had a bacta patch on his forehead, and his left arm was in a sling, as it was broken. Sabine was the one who stayed by Ezra's side, Ruby and Yang often went to check on them both, Weiss and Blake checked briefly, while the rest very little, as Jaune and Omega were flying the Gauntlet, and the rest wanted to keep an eye on Qrow.

"Don't worry Ezra," Sabine whispered as she looked down at him, "Just hang in there. For us. For me."

Omega then chimed in via comms, "Sabine, we'll be arriving soon."

"Understood." Sabine replied, "I'll be right there."

Sabine then made her way to the cockpit, which was occupied by Omega in the co-pilot's chair, Ruby sitting in a passenger seat, and Qrow doing the same. Ruby in fact was watching her uncle.

"How is he holding up?" Ruby asked as Sabine sat down and took control of the ship

"We did the best we could for now." Sabine said quietly, "I just hope your folks at Beacon will help."

"They will, and I know it." Qrow said to her

Omega scoffed, "And how can we be so sure of that?"

"Yeah." Ruby added with a pout, "You've been stalking us for who knows how long."

Qrow looked at his niece sadly, "Ruby, I was worried. Oz is worried, even though he can maintain a calm expression, he was. Everyone is worried at Beacon, Oz told me. Tai is-"

Qrow stopped himself and closed his eyes. Ruby looked sad and looked down. All while Sabine and Omega caught wind.

"...Your father is worried. Doesn't want to lose anyone else." Qrow finished

Ruby then stood up, "I'm gonna check on Ezra."

Sabine knew she wasn't planning on checking on him. She used Ezra's condition as an excuse to leave the room. Playing along, Sabine went back to flying the Gauntlet.

"We're coming up on Beacon." Omega announced, breaking the short-lived silence that filled the cockpit.

The Gauntlet flew south towards Beacon, the castle-like complex lit up the surrounding area. Off in the distance, the City of Vale could be seen, with its light doing a similar thing. But there was something even more disturbing in the sky over the city.

"Atlas airships over the city!" Omega stated

"This was a setup!" Sabine growled as she turned to face Qrow, who put his hands up in defense

"Relax kid." he said to her, "Those ships aren't here for you. The Council requested them for the Vytal Festival. Ozpin informed me before you found me."

"And you're sure of it?" Omega questioned him

"I'm sure." Qrow answered

"Then let's stay clear of the city for now." Sabine declared while turning back around, "Head straight for Beacon."

The sight of a massive red and black bullhead approaching Beacon surprised many students who were still outside. Many began to form a crowd, until the sound of loud slap echoed as Ozpin and Glynda approached. The headmaster maintained a calm expression, while Glynda had scorn, which wasn't surprising to say the least.

"Now now everyone." Ozpin announced, "Professor Goodwitch and I will handle this."

"Return to your dorms! All of you!" Glynda barked, which made the students hurry off back to their dorms. Some didn't want to, others tried to stay, but Ozpin assured them everything was alright.

The ship then turned around and landed with its back facing them. Its wings folded upwards as the engines acted like landing gear. Then a ramp opened up revealing the entrance into the ship just as Ozpin and Glynda approached it.

To their surprise the last person they expected to walk down the ramp was none other than Qrow. He walked slowly and carried his normal lazy expression.

"Qrow." Ozpin muttered, "This is truly a surprise."

"What are you doing here Qrow?" Glynda asked in a demanding tone

"What, a guy can't come and catch up with old friends?" Qrow asked

Ozpin then realized something was up, he knew this bullhead wasn't Qrow's. Hell, he knew he was being set up, so he decided to break the ice.

"I assume coming here wasn't your choice?" Ozpin asked with a knowing tone

Qrow sighed and put his hands up, "No, it wasn't."

Then the sound of weapons being cocked were heard just behind him, as two figures pointed their guns at Qrow. The first was the girl Qrow identified to Ozpin. Colorful armor, helmet and everything. While the second was a mystery, she wore black and red armor, while her helmet had a printed skull on the side of it. Both held their blasters at Qrow's back.

"Keep moving Qrow." the colorful one ordered

"Alright, alright, I'm moving." Qrow replied, "Don't rush me."

Glynda glared at the colorful one and raised her riding crop. But was stopped when Ozpin put a hand on her shoulder.

"It appears we have some unexpected guests." he announced

"I'm afraid so." the girl replied, "You should've thought twice not to spy on me and my friends. But I'm in a bit of a predicament. So I've come with an offer."

Ozpin raised an eyebrow, "I'm listening."

The girl and her companion then holstered their blasters before the former spoke, "First things first, some mutual acquaintances said you can help me. Here they are."

Just then, both RWBY and JNPR walked down the ramp. They're faces filled with unease and nervousness.

"Hey…" Ruby muttered

"For the record." Weiss poke up, "It was their idea."

"Weiss!" Blake hissed

"What? I'm being honest."

Glynda then stormed right up to them, "You...Do you all have any idea what trouble you could've caused!? Running off like that was an irresponsible move! You're lucky that no one knows where you were or who you were with! With these...criminals!"

"Criminals!?" Yang retorted, "Sabine here is hardly a criminal!"

"Watch your mouth Xiao-Long!" Glynda growled at her before looking at Sabine, "And you, the illegal actions you and your friend have committed will not go unnoticed. We do not support vigilantism in Vale, and now the White Fang have become more extreme in their actions against the kingdom! And you will be dealt with by the authorities!"

Before Glynda could raise her crop however, Sabine punched her in the face. The woman stumbled back, surprised by the action made by the Mandalorian before feeling her leg giving way, and she fell on the ground. As she was about to get back up, Glynda heard a whistling sound followed by a black blade being pointed at her neck.

Sabine held the Darksaber at her in a threatening manner, "Shut. Up."

Glynda was about to retaliate before Qrow stepped in, "Alright enough! Both of you! Now I can vouch for my nieces and their friends for their actions."

"And we in turn vouch for Sabine and her friends." Weiss added, "Besides, we have information that might be enlightening for you."

"And what might that be exactly?" Ozpin asked calmly

"You won't be getting it until our requests are met." Sabine replied harshly as she deactivated the Darksaber, "If not, then we'll have a problem."

"Yeah." Ruby added with a pout on her face, followed by Yang crossing her arms and glaring at them both

Ozpin nodded slowly, "Very well, what else do you require?"

Sabine then began, "First of which, Ruby and her friends are to be cleared of all involvement with us, no blame will go on them. Second is for a place to hide the Gauntlet so no huntsmen can get on board, goes to Glynda as well. Third is the most important: my friend, Ezra, is hurt, we need a place for him to rest so we can treat his wounds. Lastly, is for our presence here at Beacon to remain quiet."

"And what if we refuse such requests?" Glynda scoffed as she stood up

"I thought you'd never ask." Sabine retorted, "I rigged the Gauntlet here with charges big enough to blow us all up."

"You're bluffing." Glynda insisted

Sabine stared straight down, "Does it look like I am? If you've watched me and Ezra, then you know I like to blow stuff up."

Ozpin smiled, despite knowing that she was lying, Sabine had a way with words, "I accept your terms. RWBY and JNPR will be pardoned, and I will keep your presence here known only to Beacon. Glynda, head over to the infirmary, have a bed prepped at once."

"But Professor-"

"Glynda." Ozpin said firmly, "Now."

Glynda sighed in defeat before walking away. Ozpin then turned back to face everyone.

Sabine then turned to her friends, "Jaune, Ren, go get Ezra."

"On it"

"You got it."

"Once we've moved your friend, there's a landing platform on the other side of Beacon." Ozpin said to her, "You can move your ship there."

"Thank you Headmaster." Sabine replied, "Now if you excuse me."

"Until then, Ms. Rose, why don't you and your friends return to your dorms." Ozpin said to them, "I'll keep your return to Beacon under the radar."

Some looked a little uncertain, with Ruby looking at Sabine for guidance.

"It's alright guys." she assured them, "Go on, you all deserve the rest for now."

Once everything was taken care of, Sabine had Omega and Chopper move the Gauntlet to the landing pad on the other side of Beacon, where no one could find it. While Ruby and her friends returned to their dorms, Sabine went to check on Ezra in the infirmary. Omega and Chopper meanwhile stayed on the Gauntlet.

Speaking of the young, female clone, Omega was currently talking to a hologram of Hunter, Tech, and Echo. She was informing them of what had happened, and where they were.

"You're where?" Hunter questioned in a shocking tone

"Beacon." Omega muttered nervously, "Look guys, I can explain."

"Explain what!?" Echo spoke up, "No one there can be trusted! You of all people should know that! They have a connection to Ironwood!"

Hunter then chimed in again by putting his hand on Echo's shoulder, "Perhaps its best if Omega explained her side of the story."

"Very well." Tech agreed, "What happened?"

"Ironwood hasn't told anyone about his research into the Separatists." Omega explained, "Only a handful of people in Atlas knows, people loyal to Ironwood. Not even the huntsmen academies know what's going on."

"Where did you get this information?" Tech asked

"From Specialist Schnee." Omega answered, "Weiss' sister."

Echo scratched his chin as he thought for a moment, "I guess that is good. This gives us some powerful allies now."

"Indeed." Tech added, "Without the support of the huntsmen academies, Ironwood's influence will be diminished."

"But he will still have control over the Atlas Military." Hunter warned, "But nonetheless, I'm glad you're ok. Make sure Ezra's good as well. Will stay in contact, good luck Omega."

"You too, miss you all." Omega replied with a smile before ending the call

Chopper then grumbled at the female clone, which caused her to roll her eyes.

"Sabine's right, you are a hunk of junk."

The infirmary seemed just like any professional hospital or clinic in the galaxy. The room was all white, cleaner than Chopper and to the point where one could eat right off the floor. A bed was at the center of the room, with light blue sheets and bed rails. Two small seats and a table were off to the side, several cabinets near the door, and a nightstand on the left side of the bed.

Ezra laid on his back, seemingly unconscious. The bruises on his face were fading away, while a bacta patch was on the right side of his head. His orange attire was swapped for blue, loose-fitting sleepwear. His left arm was covered in a bacta patch.

While the infirmary had the necessary tools to heal any patient. Sabine had taken the time to use what medical equipment the Gauntlet had, ranging from sterilized equipment to bacta respectively. She was surprised at what medical supplies were on board; Ezra really took the time to convert the ship from Maul's to his.

Sabine herself was sitting on the side of the bed, looking down at him. She gently rubbed his arm as she looked down at him.

"Ezra, if you can hear me..." she muttered, "Stay strong, for us...For me…"

Sabine then stood up, and taking what in her mind was a risk, and outright dangerous if in front of her mother, she gently kissed his forehead. She then grabbed her helmet and held it under her arm before leaving the room. Outside she found Ruby and Yang, who were waiting patiently.

"How's he doing?" Yang asked

"He's alright for now." Sabine answered glumly, "I'll stay with him for the night, don't want anyone sneaking in. I'm just grabbing some stuff from the ship and coming back."

"And...you?" Ruby then questioned, "What about you?"

"I'm good…" Sabine muttered before slowly shaking her head, "No...Yes? No! I don't even know at this point. Maybe coming here was a mistake."

"Maybe you're right, maybe you're wrong." Ruby said to her, "But once we speak to Ozpin-"

"Ozpin? Can we even trust him!?" Sabine cried, "He spied on us for kriffing sake! For all we know, he has that sack of bantha fodder Goodwitch spying on us as we speak!"

Yang sighed, "Alright we see your point, but we need help. The rest of us might not trust Ozpin right now, but he might be the only hope we have."

"Maybe…" Sabine muttered, "I'll be on the Gauntlet grabbing some stuff, watch Ezra for the time being."

"You got it." Ruby answered quietly

"...One more thing." Sabine added before stopping herself, "Nevermind, I'll ask later…"

Morning had finally come to Beacon, but luckily, it was the weekend of all students. So that meant no classes. But the topic of choice amongst the students wasn't that of homework, but that of the ship that arrived overnight. Not only that, many realized that RWBY and JNPR had returned to Beacon.

"They're looking at us…" Weiss muttered under her breath, as she and her team, along with Team JNPR hung out in the library. Ren and Pyrrha were reading, Jaune was reading a comic book, Nora was sleeping, Weis herself was over studying whatever they had missed during their time on the Gauntlet, and the rest of her team were playing a game.

"Then don't pay attention to them." Yang retorted, "It'll die out sooner or later. Besides, Ozpin's probably gonna come up with an alibi for us."

"What kind of alibi can he even make?" Weiss hissed quietly, "Everyone had to see the Gauntlet land in the middle of the academy."

"She's right." said Blake, "I've overheard some things from other students. Things about Ezra and Sabine."

Ruby looked at her funny, "What things?"

Blake scanned the area before leaning in, "Some students aren't fond of what they do. The public are supporting them, attacking the White Fang, and raiding the SDC. No huntsmen views them in a positive light."

"Except for us." Jaune muttered, "And maybe Ozpin."

"Talking about me?"

All eyes turned to see Sabine walking towards them.

"Sabine, what are you doing here!?" Weiss hissed under her breath, "Someone could see you!"

"Relax, I had to sneak my way to get here." Sabine replied, "Had to borrow a page out of Ezra's book, but it paid off."

"How is he?" Ren asked

Sabine then sat down before speaking, "Good as he can get. He should be up soon. Your Headmaster took precautions to keep students from finding him."

"That's good to hear." Ruby replied

Sabine frowned a bit, "Well, I still don't trust him. Regardless of what he does for us, there is just something about him."

"Right…" Yang muttered before changing topics, "What about...you? How are you holding up, you know what?"

"...I don't know…"

"Hey guys!"

All heads turned unturned to see two students approach them. The first was a boy with tan skin with short spiky light-blonde hair. He wears two red wrist bracers over black fingerless gloves and an open loose-collared white jacket with no shirt underneath, displaying his muscular physique. He also wears blue cargo pants tied up with a white belt. He wears white bandages on his legs and has a chain hanging from the belt loop on the right side of his pants. He sports black and yellow sneakers and wears a twisted golden necklace around his neck, with a round pendant.

The other was also a boy with tan skin, blue eyes and messy light-blue hair in the form of an undercut. He wears a white dress shirt and black tie under a red jacket adorned with a wide, upturned, black collar and a silver reticle across the back. He also sports a pair of gray jeans with black padding strapped to the sides as well as black shoes fastened with straps instead of laces.

"Hey Sun." Ruby answered to the first boy

"Yang, Blake...Ice Queen."

"WHY DOES EVERYONE KEEP CALLING ME THAT!?" Weiss cried

"Well it's been awhile since I saw you guys!" Sun announced, "How've ya been!"

Blake scratched the back of her head with unease, "Its been...wild."

"Really?" Sun questioned, "Not as crazy as chasing down the White Fang, or that Torchwick guy?"

"Maybe not as much." Pyrrha answered

"Well, that's not why I'm here." Sun continued, "I'm here to introduce my friend."

"Uh, aren't libraries for reading?" his companion questioned

"Thank you!" Ren shouted in agreement

"Ugh, don't be a nerd." Sun groaned

"Nuh, uh, uh, intellectuel." the boy corrected him, "Get it right. I'm Neptune."

"So Neptune?" Weiss began asking him, "Where are you from?"

"Haven Academy." Neptune replied as he approached her, "And where are you from, snow angel?"

Sabine nearly had to hold in a laugh at the cheesy advance Neptune was attempting. But it caught both his and Sun's attention nonetheless.

"Who are you?" Sun asked her,

Ruby then butted in, "Oh uh, she's just a friend we made recently. In fact, she has to go, right now."

"Right." Nora added

But Sun didn't seem to buy it as he looked at her, "Wait a minute...I know that symbol...You're one of the rebels."

"Oh no…" Weiss sighed in defeat

"Blake...you never told me you made friends with the rebels." Sun accused his fellow Faunus

"It's a long story, Sun." Blake replied

Sun was about to say something when he noticed Sabine point one of her blasters at him.

"You tell anyone, and it'll be the end of you." she threatened him

"Slow your roll, girl." Sun brushed her aside, "I'm just jealous that my friends have been kicking it with you rebels. It's cool, and any friend of Blake's is a friend of mine."

"Same here." Neptune added

"Although…" Sun began, "...I gotta admit, Beacon may not be the 'bestest' place for you guys."

"Yeah he's not wrong." said Neptune, "We've heard others talk about you guys in...well…'not-so-friendly' ways. There was one guy, uh, Winchester."

"Cardin." Jaune stated

"That's it." Neptune muttered while continuing, "Yeah he doesn't have a high opinion of you guys."

"Well, Cardin doesn't like anyone but himself." Yang chuckled

"Wait, wasn't Cardin the one Ezra and I stunned?" Sabine then asked

"Yep." Ruby replied

"Hey speaking of your friend, is he here?" Sun asked, "Don't mean to be curious."

Sabine nodded, "No, it's fine. He's in the infirmary."

"The infirmary?" Sun questioned, "Is he alright?"

"He got injured or something, I don't even know what happened." she answered, "I'm just really worried for him."

"Ouch…" Neptune muttered before looking over Sabine's shoulder and frowned, "Oh no…"

"What's wrong?" Weiss asked

"Jerk alert…" Sun muttered, "Lots of jerks…"

Sure enough, several students approached the table, some in uniform, others in casual attire, but no weapons. At the head was none other than Cardin.

"Well…" he chuckled smugly, "What do we have here? Hey guys!"

Weiss rolled her eyes and rubbed her face in annoyance. Everyone either avoiding contact or glaring back at him.

"Cardin." Jaune muttered in response

The smug boy then set his sights on Sabine, "So, the rumors were true. You're here at Beacon."

"What was your first clue?" Sabine retorted

"I didn't know lackeys were allowed to speak." a student dismissed her

"Alright enough." Pyrrha warned Cardin's posse, "She's had a rough day."

"Oh I bet." Cardin said smugly, "Fighting animals and the Schnee's lap dogs? Yeah, we know about that. You know there are already people who do that. Us."

"You should give up and let the professionals do their job." another student jabbed

"Ok, that's enough." Yang shot back

Sabine then stood up and glared back at them all, "If your job is to help people, then shouldn't you be out there helping?"

"That doesn't matter to me." Cardin muttered, "What matters is that we have a criminal here on campus. Guess that means your friend isn't very far."

The mention of Ezra made Sabine's glare soften a bit, which Cardin took advantage of. He grinned evilly.

"What? Is he gone?" he taunted, "Is he hurt?"

"Cardin." Yang warned him as Blake moved to Sabine's side, knowing what was about to go down.

"Little rat he was."

That finally made Sabine snap, as she pounced at Cardin. But Blake, who was behind her, grabbed her as she was ready to move. Cardin backed away in defense, but covered his fear with his ever present smug.

"Sabine! He's not worth it!" she told her

"Move!"

The Mando managed to elbow Blake, which made her let go. Sabine then flung herself at Cardin and his posse. Cardin, being the coward that he actually was, pushed his so-called friends in front of him. One student, a girl, tried to punch Sabine, but the latter blocked her swing and decked her in the face before grabbing her and, using her vambraces, fired a sonic blast that sent most of the posse to the ground.

Then, two male students managed to grab Sabine and hold her.

"We got her!" one of them shouted at Cardin

Cardin then charged at her, but Sabine jumped while in the student's grasp and kicked Cardin back before flipping in the air. The two students lost their grip as she knocked them out.

Cardin then decided to make a run for it, but Sabine then fired her energized rope that wrapped around him. She then pulled him onto his knees and up to her.

Cardin squirmed in fear as Sabine glared at him in anger.

"You sack of bantha fodder…!" she sneered as she held him by the neck. But soon felt an unknown force hold her in place. A gold aura covered her as she noticed Glynda, crop in hand holding her in place.

The teacher then raised her weapon but as she was ready to act, a hand grabbed her arm. The aura around Sabine then disappeared.

"Don't…" Qrow said as he held her before looking at Yang, "Go help her."

Yang nodded slowly and went over to Sabine's side, helping her up. She then led her out of the library.

Sabine then found herself in one of Beacon's many classrooms. She paced around slowly as Yang watched her.

"Why did you bring me here?" she asked impatiently, "You may as well save your breath."

"Sabine, we need you to slow down." Yang said to her

"I, don't have the luxury to slow down." Sabine retorted, "You guys have lives here, you don't know what we've been through."

"Yes we do." Yang replied firmly, "We've lost as much as you and Ezra have, both me and Ruby."

Yang then leaned against a chalkboard. She stared in space, not bothering to look at Sabine.

"Ruby and I grew up in Patch, an island off the coast of Vale." Yang told her, "Our parents were Huntsmen. Our dad taught at Signal, and our mom took on missions around the kingdom. Her name was Summer Rose, and she was, like...Super-Mom: Baker of cookies and slayer of giant monsters. And then... one day she left for a mission and never came back."

Sabine's gaze softened, "I didn't know, I'm sorry."

Yang smiled sadly in response, "It was tough. Ruby was really torn up, but...I think she was still too young to really get what was going on, y'know? And my dad just kind of...shut down. It wasn't long before I learned why. Summer wasn't the first love he lost; she was the second. The first...was my mom."

Sabine looked at her surprised, "You're...Ruby's half-sister?"

"I am." Yang answered, "My dad wouldn't tell me everything, but I learned that the two of them had been on a team together with Summer and Qrow, and that she'd left me with him right after I was born. No one had seen her since."

"Why did she leave you?" Sabine asked

Yang smiled sadly, "That question...Why?"

The blonde then turned to the chalkboard, grabbed a piece of chalk, and began drawing, "I didn't know an answer, but I was determined to find out. It was all I thought about. I would ask anyone I could about what they knew about her. Then, one day, I found something. What I thought was a clue that could lead me to answers, or maybe even my mother. I waited for Dad to leave the house, put Ruby in a wagon, and headed out. I must've walked for hours. I had cuts and bruises, I was totally exhausted, but I wasn't gonna let anything stop me. When we finally got there, I could barely stand, but I didn't care; I had made it. And then I saw them. Those burning red eyes…There we were: A toddler sleeping in the back of a wagon and a stupid girl too exhausted to even cry for help. We might as well have been served on a silver platter. But, as luck would have it, our uncle showed up just in time."

Yang then stopped drawing. Her work was that of a clockwork eye, a symbol Sabine recognized on Qrow's attire.

"My stubbornness should've gotten us killed that night."

"Yang...I'm sorry." Sabine muttered, feeling bad for her and her sister, "I didn't now…"

"It's alright." Yang assured, "What I'm trying to say is that I know what you're going through. Me, Ruby, Blake, all of us. We're worried for Ezra as much as you are. But we can tell what you see in him."

Sabine felt a small blush run across her face as Yang continued.

"Just talk to him." Yang said to her

Just then, the doors to the room swung open, nearby breaking off their hinges as Ruby appeared.

"Guys…!" she said out of breath, "Ezra's awake!"

"What?" Sabine muttered as relief swept over her

"Yeah, he's asking for you!" Ruby replied

Sabine ran faster than she could towards the infirmary. She stopped dead in front of the door to the room Ezra was in. She quietly opened the door and stopped once she noticed him.

Ezra was sitting up in bed, fully clothed and everything. The bruises that were on his face were now gone completely. He was rubbing his once injured hand, and his eyes indicated he was tired. Apparently, he didn't rest that well while injured.

Before either one could say anything, Ruby and her trope came in, quickly followed by Omega.

"Ezra!" Ruby shouted before running up and hugging him

Ezra grunted a bit at the pressure Ruby gave as she crushed him, "G-Good to see you two R-Ruby…"

"Idiot!" Weiss practically yelled at him, "Why did you run off!? You could have been killed!?"

"But I'm not, aren't I?" Ezra countered with a grin

Weiss rolled her eyes before giving him a small smile, "No, I guess not."

"How are you feeling?" Ren asked

"Fine, I guess." Ezra shrugged, "Nothing too bad, though I'm a little tired. Being unconscious didn't help. When I woke up, there was this woman in the room watching me."

Yang frowned, "Goodwitch. How'd she get in here?"

"I don't know, but she filled me in on what happened." Ezra replied, "I'm glad you brought me here guys. It was risky, but good thinking."

"Thanks." said Pyrrha, "Was she any trouble?"

"If by attitude, then yes." Ezra answered, getting a laugh from them all, "Then this guy showed up, uh, Ozpin? I spoke with him about our situation."

Sabine then spoke up, "You told him about what we found?"

"I did." Ezra said firmly, he seemed confident in what he did

"He did."

Ozpin then revealed himself to be standing in the door, cane in hand, "James...my old friend, has committed the ultimate betrayal. If what you say about these Separatists is true, then Remnant is vulnerable to their activation. I can keep James in the dark for only so long, and my contacts should help you in your search."

"Thank you Headmaster." Sabine replied

"You'll have my help as well." Qrow announced to everyone, "It gets boring around here anyway."

"I'd also like to know more about the Jedi." Ozpin added, "To know that one of their temples is on Remnant is truly fascinating."

"But why'd you run off like that?" Blake then asked, "Sabine and Ruby found you at the Jedi Temple."

Ezra rubbed the back of his head, "It's a bit of a long story…"

Omega raised an eyebrow, "Why? Did you find something?"

Ezra frowned in disappointment, "No...Maybe...I don't know."

Sabine then spoke up, "Hey, could everyone give me and Ezra a moment."

Yang then smirked, "Alright, come on guys."

Everyone then scuttle out of the room quickly, until only Ezra and Sabine were left. The young Jedi then gave Sabine a small smile.

"Hey…" he muttered

"Hey…" she said back

An awkward silence then fell over them, as did the angst Sabine began to feel. Soon enough, she couldn't take it and ran up and hugged Ezra.

"Are you ok?" she asked

"Better now." he replied in a cheesy tone until Sabine lightly smacked him with his 'good' arm.

"Ow!" he cried

"That was for scaring us." she said sternly, "Why'd you run off like that?"

Ezra sighed before speaking, "I had a vision, similar to the one I had before finding Ruby and the others. I-I needed answers, and I thought the temple could provide them. I was wrong…"

"Well, what did you find?" Sabine asked

"I saw...him…"

Sabine looked at him confused, "Him?"

"Maul…" Ezra answered, "I knew it wasn't him, but there was something about him that made him feel real. And there was…"

Silence fell on both of them once more. The force could tell that both felt nervous, as if they were holding back on something. But they knew what each other knew.

Finally, Sabine broke it, "Ezra I need to tell you something."

Ezra looked up at her face and had a knowing look, "I know…"

Then Mando went along with him, "I...I have feelings...for you-I...I like you…

Ezra gave her a small smile, "I know…"

Sabine realized something was off, Ezra didn't seem happy or glad. Instead, he seemed conflicted.

"So...how do we figure...this...out…?" she then asked

"I don't know…" Ezra replied, "If I were younger me, I would be happier than Chopper getting away with messing up my room. But now…"

Sabine knew there had to be a catch, and it hit her by surprise.

"...I don't know…" he said quietly, "I feel as if I've changed. I've learned to be a Jedi, and in doing so, I've learned new things. I have code, but do I follow it? I don't know where I stand as a Jedi. Kanan's taught so much, but...there's more to it that even he knows."

"So what does that mean?" Sabine asked

Ezra smiled, sensing her sadness, "I just need some time to figure all this out. Don't worry, I'll always be your friend Sabine. We're in this…"

"Together…" she added before hugging him back

"Now it's about time that I got up." Ezra muttered, "Zeb's the lazy one afterall."

"Right." Sabine agreed, "I'll be outside waiting for you."

"Be right out."

Flashback…

The man gently put his daughter back to bed before putting several blankets on top of her.

"There we go." he said, "Comfy?"

"Yeah." the girl squeaked, "What were you reading about?"

The man smiled at his daughter's curiosity, "Do you really want to know?"

"Yeah!" she whispered loudly

"Well, ok." the man said, "I was reading about...the Jedi."

The girl gasped dramatically, "Were you hiding from Mom?"

"No, of course not." the man chuckled, "I was going through our archives to see if nothing was tampered with."

"Papa…" she muttered, "Why do we hate the Jedi? Why?"

The man could only sympathize with her innocence. The old wounds between their people, even hundreds of years later, still affected the coming generations.

"We don't hate the Jedi, ad'ika." he said softly, "We may have fought them, but we were tricked, by very bad people. Our people respect the Jedi, but some of us, like your mother, are wary of them, and their power."

"Why?"

"It is natural to fear something you don't understand." the man explained, "They have a power, one I admit the galaxy needs right now. Why are you so interested in them?"

"Mom was talking with a member of Clan Saxon about them." the girl answered

The man smiled sadly at his daughter, if only she knew who Clan Saxon really were; traitors to Mandalore.

"Papa, will I ever meet a Jedi?" she then asked innocently

"Perhaps you will, ad'ika. Oh! I almost forgot, one last birthday present."

"Yay!" he cried, "What is it!? What is it!?"

The man took his hands behind the back of his neck. They returned with a black cord which revealed a silver pendant with a clear crystal inside.

"Oooo…" the girl muttered, "What is it?"

"I found this a long time ago." the man explained, "When you were born, I had a feeling that this was always meant to be yours. So it belongs to you…"

The man then put the pendant around her neck, "Thanks, papa."

"You're welcome, ad'ika."

Present Day…

Sabine then left the room, Ruby, Ozpin, and everyone else was gone. But she felt sadness overcome her. Ezra...was unsure.

A Jedi. Her friend. The thought triggered a memory of her father, and what he said to her long ago.

"Our people respect the Jedi, but some of us, like your mother, are wary of them, and their power."

Reaching towards her neck, Sabine pulled on a black cord that held onto a silver pendant with a clear crystal inside. She remembered what her father said about it, and how she was meant to have it.

"Ezra…" she muttered before pressing on. To think that the roles were reversed. She wanted to cry, but that glimmer of hope still burned in her...
