A/N: The ball isn't quite done yet and sorry about dual notifications. I had to fix something and reposted it. I still don't own Harry Potter or anything recognizable.
**Hermione's POV**
Being wrapped in Rosie and Tim's arms felt like home to me. It was like a sense of security I hadn't had for a long time covered me. We just stood ther enjoying it for a minute before breaking apart.
"I can't believe you guys are here! You look fantastic! How did you get a last minute invite?"
Rosie snorts a bit.
"Excuse you, I probably had my invitation before you did Ms. War Heroine. Cissa and I graduated together from Hogwarts but thought it best to keep our friendship quiet, especially since I married a muggle born. Tim is better at potions and flying than most active magic. Quite brilliant with creatures and healing too. Anyways, Cissa and I kept in contact in secret. She would give me warnings if she could, even during the main war. I rescued many muggle borns and helped smuggle them out of the U.K. She invited me as soon as the idea crossed her mind."
Tim smiled a little and Dudley came up to us, grinning.
"I think I'm a novelty here. Not many Muggles come to magical parties. Also, are you aware that a pale and tall blonde fellow has been glaring daggers at me all night? Is that something to be concerned about?"
I see Draco keeping a look on his face I can't identify and I smile to him.
"That's Draco, he wouldn't hurt you. Shall we dance Dudley?"
"Shouldn't I be asking you that?"
I shrug and he leads me out to dance some, pulling me close.
"Listen, I feel like I should tell you, this ball has been amazing and you look astonishing, but..."
Dudley looked uncomfortable a bit.
"But?" I prompted him gently, knowing what he was going to say and being okay with it.
"I already have a girlfriend, her name is Liv, and I don't see you as more than a friend. Erm, that is if you wanna be my friend. Up to you."
"I understand entirely actually. Are you serious with Liv? What's she like?"
He smiles and gets this happy look about him.
"I met her while in hiding, she went to the local school I was enrolled in. Her name is Olivia Anders, she enjoys sports, books, and has quite a lot of sarcasm. She has short pixie like platinum blonde hair that currently has blue in it and pale blue eyes. We're actually pretty serious, though Mom doesn't know that yet."
"And how would you work around the fact that you've lied to her some?"
"Actually, I had told her me and my parents were in hiding because of pissing the wrong people off, and my cousin was the one who protected us. The story I told her was that he had some pull because of his father's side and what not. All this after we could leave hiding of course. I didn't want to leave her behind though."
**Kitty's POV**
"Look at the Mudblood. Who does she think she is? And why on earth did Narcissa invite her?!" The cow was sneering and I simply rolled my eyes in disgust.
"Pansy, name calling is childish and immature, and from what I gather she seems like a pretty big part of Voldemort's downfall. Are you pregnant by the way? Congrats!"
She looked enraged at me for a second.
"Excuse me? Why would you even think that?!"
"Well, you're crankier than normal, and you're also looking rather bloated. Also, I know how you are with guys..."
"Listen you unweddable Yank, I am not pregnant! And how dare you insinuate that I am in any way dirty! I'm not some Mudblood whore or blood traitor tramp! Only filth like them have bastards out of wedlock!"
"There are like so many things wrong with that sentence."
I whirled away and went to locate Aunt Narci. Time for me to teach these bigoted idiots about blood. On my way, I stopped by Hermione to speak for a moment.
"Hermione, would you mind helping me with a demonstration? You too if possible Dudley. I also need a half blood and someone counted as a blood traitor." I rolled my eyes at the term.
"I'm intrigued. Let me get Harry, Ron, and Ginny. You can tell us about this... Demonstration."
I smile.
**Draco's POV**
"If I could have your attention please."
Everyone, myself included, looked to see my mother standing on the band's platform with Hermione, Potter, Weaselette, Kitty, and Hermione's date. We could hear fine because of the amplification spell.
"My niece Kitty has something she'd like to say to all of you, mainly my long time guests of these balls. Give her the utmost respect and attention."
Kitty stepped forward looking rather livid.
"I've been in the states my whole life. So coming back here to deal with your blood purity bullshit is a pain in my ass. And yes! I'm swearing. I'm a Pureblood but I bleed the same exact blood as a muggle," she motions to Hermione's date, " and a muggle born."
Hermione waves.
"A half blood, and one whose family many of you count as blood traitors. All of it is useless to argue over." Potter and Weaselette made motions when their blood status was mentioned.
My mother made it so we could see all their wrists lined up side by side in real time magnified. She pull out her sharp little letter opener and ran it across all their wrists. Thin lines of deep crimson came out of each slice. She froze that image while Molly Weasley healed them.
"My niece has proven that there is no mud, there is no dirt, and there will be no bias based on blood anywhere in our presence. If you have any issues at all about this, leave now."
No one made any motions to leave but Pansy and her mother Patrice scoff at Kitty's words. My mother's eyes zeroed in on them with a small glare.
"Patrice and Pansy Parkinson. Do either of you wish to say anything?"
Pansy looked ready to open her mouth and retort ruwould like to dely but Patrice stopped her.
"Of course not Narcissa. This all just seems rather morbid in the middle of one of your balls though. Wouldn't you say?"
"Not at all. Now, I would like to ask some people to begin their speeches, including myself. You five are free to leave the stage if you'd like to kids."
She waited until they all left and Kitty was by my side again before I knew it.
"I would like to thank everyone for coming here tonight. Finally we are in a time of peace where we can work on improving our society instead of breaking it apart. We are all one people. We need to get with the times as the Muggles say. My dear friend Lady Potter and her husband Timothy have helped me on a little project I've been waiting years to come to light. Rosie? Do you want to come up and explain this part?"
There was a lot of murmuring as the woman next to Potter and Hermione went up on the stage with presumably her husband.
"Hello all! I know I haven't been in plain sight for quite some time now, but I've never been one to seek out the limelight. Now, Cissa and I want to locate more muggle born witches and wizards at younger ages. I propose we do that by asking the half bloods and muggleborns to become teachers and any other role they are exposed to young children regularly. Watch for signs of accidental magic and speak to their parents early on. Explain that somewhere along their family lines a squib married a muggle and such. Perform the magic testing spell beforehand to figure out if they are magic so no statute of secrecy is broken. I've talked to Purebloods and Muggleborns and part of the biggest issue is that muggleborns come into a whole new world at age eleven not knowing anything about it or anyone else and then we cut them from their families. We are changing Muggle studies at Hogwarts, its thoroughly outdated and biased. As well as including more cultural heritage and muggle subjects."
**Hermione's POV**
As the night went on, I danced with so many friends and such.
"May I have this dance Mione?"
I turn to see Ron holding out his hand and I take it, giving him a smile as well. A mid tempo song is being played and we dance.
"It's really lovely of you to bring Susan. Are you interested in going further with her?"
He laughs and nods his chin at Susan with Daphne casually touching her arm.
"She's not interested in me. Or any bloke for that matter. But thank you for your concern. Made a move on Malfoy yet?"
I squeaked and gave him a little scared look that he grinned at.
"Blimey Mione you didn't actually think no one knew? And here everyone thought you were the brightest witch of our age! Honestly! Oh! Mum wants you to come for Christmas at the Burrow and has extended the offer to Mrs. Malfoy and Malfoy because Dromeda asked her to. Mum wants to knit them each a sweater so can you maybe find out some likes?"
"Draco's favorite color is cinnamon brown. And drawing."
"Cinnamon brown, eh? Anything to do with your eyes? I mean some have chocolatey eyes but cinnamon sticks match your eyes perfectly. Gin said that when she first met you."
I noticed him glancing at Kitty and I poked him a little.
"She's definitely beautiful, wouldn't you agree? Why don't you ask her to dance?"
"Hmm? What?"
I motioned to the blonde making her way towards us with a large grin.
"Ask her to dance."
Kitty waved at us as she was next to us now.
"Erm, Kitty, I was wondering if... If you'd dance the next song with me..?"
"I'd love to! But I can't. Actually, I'm ditching the rest of the ball to play quidditch, you in? I've got Dray, Theo, Blaise, Tori, Ginny, Harry, and myself. No beaters tonight. Aunt Narci's request since she knew I would play anyways."
Ron looked dumbfounded as Kitty looked at him with pleading purple eyes.
"I don't think my dress robes were meant for quidditch and I haven't a broom..."
She shrugs.
"Borrow some of Dray's. Or transfigure them. Wizard remember? As for brooms, Dray has enough for two full teams. Always gets the latest brooms as soon as they're out."
"I'm in. Mione, why don't you grab Dudley? He might like to see this."
