Hello and welcome back! I have finished my school studies (for now) and am now super bored on Monday's since I used to do schoolwork while sitting at a desk but now that it's done, I don't know what to do with myself. With that being said, let's get on with the story!
-Recap-
"Ah we finally made it" Topher says while fixing his hair through the reflection in the window. "Time to impress all the women who will swoon over me tonight at our concert".
"That's what YOU think! I'll be getting all the ladies" Brick says flexing his muscles with a smile.
"In your DREAMS!" Topher rolls his eyes and grabs his bag, "alright, let's get going!" One by one, we all follow him out of the bus and grab the band equipment that was stored in the bottom of the bus.
"You know you don't have to help us, right?" Trent smiles while watching me carry two speakers.
"I know but I enjoy helping. I don't want to look like I'm useless on this trip you know" I smile back and continue to trudge towards the facility where they will be playing.

I started to walk towards the big facility that I thought was the venue for their gig. Trent started to chuckle a bit and grabbed my shoulder lightly. I stopped in my tracks and looked at him.
"What?"
He pointed with this thumb the direction of where everyone else in the band was going with their instrument cases and amps. "We're going the opposite way. You really didn't think we were that famous, did you?"
"Oh..."
Instead of this big auditorium that I thought they were going to play in, it seemed that everyone in the band was walking towards a small pub called "The Lil' Irish Pub". It was very cute and right beside a hotel which was very convenient for us since it was the hotel we were staying in anyway. The outside of the pub had bright yellow paint with white trim and a wooden hanging sign with four leaf clovers and the words "CLOSED" written on it. The pub was definitely small looking from the outside and I, personally, think that buildings that are painted yellow is a red flag because why would you want your place to be painted yellow in the first place? Are you trying to stand out and get attention from everyone who drives/walks by?
I turn around and walk with the other band members to the pub. I look around once we get inside and see that the pub is actually very clean looking. They had the classic bar and bar stools alongside a lot of round tables and cushion seats. In the back, there was another section that was filled with more tables and cushion chairs which seemed to be more of a restaurant than a pub. Finally, there was an upstairs area that looked down over the pub.
A man suddenly emerged from behind the bar while cleaning his hands off with a cloth. He had a huge grin on his face as he saw us.
"Hello! Welcome to the Lil' Irish Pub! You must be the band who's playing for us tonight?"
Trent reached out and gave the man a firm handshake, "that's us! Thank you for giving us an opportunity to play tonight. We really appreciate it"
The man gave a chuckle and shook his head, "the pleasure is all ours! My name is Hendrik and I'm one of the manager's here"
"Trent"
"Well Trent! I hope you enjoy playing here for us tonight! We have the usual crowd coming in tonight and they are a bit rowdy but I hope they stay on their best behaviour for you."
Trent laughed, "the rowdier the better!"
After the introductions, the band started to set up their equipment and do some sound checks. I volunteered myself to check the band into the hotel since it was just a couple strides away from the pub.
"Hello and welcome! What is the name under the booking?"
"Hello! I'm here under the name... Trent? Trent Hamilton"
"Ah yes! 2 rooms it seems... 1 room with 2 queen sized beds and the other is with 1 king sized bed".
I stood there a bit confused.
One room with 2 queens and the other with 1 king bed?
I look at my fingers and start counting the number of band members there were.
There are 5 band members and then me so that equals 6... if 2 people share a queen then that would make 4 people in that one room and then...
"Excuse me!" the receptionist said, snapping me out of my train of thought. "Is there an issue?"
I shake my head and smile at her, "No everything's fine! I was just thinking about who was going to go to which room since I'm bringing in their bags as well" I gave a genuine smile which seemed to convince the receptionist.
"Okay! Here are the room key cards and your room numbers are 225 and 226" I took the keys and thanked the receptionist before running to grab the bags from the bus.
Did Trent purposely book a king size bed because he was certain that I would say yes and want to try something with me? I never thought that he would be so straightforward about wanting to sleep with someone that badly... Maybe I'm overthinking things? God Gwen! Get it together! There is no way that Trent thought that we would be sleeping together. He isn't like that... he's a genuinely good person.
I grab 3 duffel bags and a suitcase before hustling back to the hotel and going into the room with the 2 queen sized beds. The room was pretty standard. A washroom with a nice big mirror, the two queen beds were in the middle of the room with a tv facing the beds as well as some bedside tables.
I put down the bags and suitcase with a huff and then jog back to grab the remaining stray bags that were left behind. While getting there, I see Trent waving at me and smiling. I slow down to a walk and put my hands on my hips with a look that Trent knows all too well.
"I know that look, what do you want?" he said with a light chuckle.
"Why did you book a room with 2 queen beds and then one with a king bed?"
"Oh yeah" he gave a long and exasperated sigh and rolled his eyes. "Topher said he wouldn't come to this gig unless I gave him a room of his own that had a king size bed. Talk about dramatic right?"
I smiled and a wave of relief washed over me.
Of course! There was no way that Trent would pull something like that! I'm just overthinking things as usual.
Then another thought crossed my mind.
"Wait... if the king-sized bed is Topher's bed... Where will I sleep?"
Trent's eyes go wide for a second and then I see him going into thought. I pipe up since I knew that there wasn't going to be an easy way to resolve this.
"I don't mind paying for a room! You didn't know that I would say yes so of course you wouldn't have booked another room for me!" Trent looks up at me with determined eyes and shakes his head.
"No, Gwen. I invited you here so I feel responsible to make you feel as comfortable and safe as possible. With that being said, I obviously didn't plan for this so I guess I will have to cut my losses and either pay for your room or I could sleep in the bus and you can sleep in one of the queen beds."
I smile while rolling my eyes at him and giving him a hip bump. "you're too kind, Trent. I'm not going to make you do either of those things. I'll sleep on the bus"
Even though I didn't want to, I thought it was only fair that the guys who would be playing all night should get a bed. I was only there as a groupie anyway. He smiled. Probably because he knew me enough to know that I would hate sleeping in the bus. Especially by myself.
"Okay but on one condition"
"and that would be...?"
"If I kept you company until you fell asleep" he gave a smile that would melt anyone's heart and it sure melted mine.
"Deal."

The crowd was loud and it was rowdy, just like the manager warned us. The whole time the pub was filled with laughter, singing, song requests, and people yelling over all the noise. I sat a few tables away from the band since I didn't want to become deaf before the night was over. Despite the weird dynamic of the band, they were actually really good!
"Thank you everyone! We'll be back for another set in about 30 minutes so don't go anywhere!" Trent gave a smile and waved to the crowd who gave a very obvious cheer and requests to stay on for another song.
The band left the stage to get a few drinks and Trent immediately came over and sat next to me. I scooted away from him and sniffed the air.
"You smell! And you're sweaty!"
He laughs and then pulls me into a big, sweaty hug. I screamed a little and tried to get away.
"EWWW! TRENT! YOU'RE SO SWEATY!" he pulls me in tighter.
"You know you like it, don't run away from me"
"I can't! You're literally keeping me trapped in your disgusting odor" he finally lets me go when he sees Brick coming over with two glasses of beer.
"Here ya go, Trent! A nice refreshing beverage"
"Thanks man"
Brick turns to me, "Gwen? Would you like a beer?"
I smile and shake my head, "no thank you! I'm just going to have Sprite instead"
Brick nods and walks away to join the crowd. Trent sips on his beer and sighs contently. I raise my eyebrows and point at the beer while giving a small smirk.
"You're only 17, you know. This is technically illegal"
"Yeah... but Brick is 19 so he is able to give me alcohol since he can have it himself so technically if the cops don't know, then I can drink beer whenever Brick is around"
I laugh, "that's called giving a minor alcohol and that's illegal"
He takes a big gulp and shrugs his shoulders, "I'm living on the edge, Gwen. I'm a bad boy"
"I wouldn't define you as a 'bad boy' but okay, whatever floats your boat"
"Whatever. You know that I'm the baddest at Cineplex, you just can't admit it"
"I would say that Chef and Duncan are the baddest at Cineplex. You're just a wannabe"
Trent puts his hands to his heart and gives big puppy dog eyes, "that cut deep Gwen, I'm truly hurt by that statement"
I give him a shove with my shoulder, "you'll get over it I'm sure"
Topher comes up to us with a few girls by his side, "come on dude! Time to get back on stage"
Trent quickly drinks the rest of his beer and slams the glass on the table, "alright I'm ready! See you in a bit Gwen"
I smile and give him a wave as he jogs back up on stage.
"Sorry for keeping you all waiting! But we're back and here is our next song!"

"Hmmm... I'm smelling a foul smell... could it be that you're about to be skunked?" I gloat and continue to move my peg up 18 more holes. Trent gives me a glare and starts shuffling the deck.
"That's what you think! I'll catch up"
I laugh, "Trent. You need 40 points to even catch up to me, you're done"
"it's not over until the fat lady sings!"

I'm lying on the "bed" that the tour bus had, looking up at the ceiling and listening to the soft sound of breathing. Beside me on the ground was Trent, passed out from exhaustion from his gig and probably too much alcohol. I smile, thinking about the crazy day we had together with the band. Though I missed seeing Duncan, it was a nice day without any distractions and to just live in the moment.
I smile at Trent sleeping by me and close my eyes.
"Good night, Trent"
