Kagome was standing against the Bone Eaters Well. The night was cold and dull. She shivered, looking down at her palm. In the center of her palm was a tiny glass bottle with a black threadtied around it, and a cork to close it. Inside the bottle was one jewel shard. This one jewel shard would complete the Shikon no Tama. She rose her head, then sitting down against the well, opening her other hand, which revealed a nearly completed Shikon no Tama. She looked up at the Waxing Cresent Moon. Kagome felt tears come to her eyes. I know exactly what Inuyasha will wish for. He'll wish me safe. . . and him a deamon. Won't he? I was never good enough. All I've done is sit him and bug him. Of course, I am no more than his shard detector.

"Kagome, why are you crying?" said a worried voice. Kagome looked up ahead. A hanyou stood before her, dog ears and all, in his baggy red kimono; it was of course none other than Inuyasha. He had look of worry in his face. For once he wasn't frowning, or making some stupid smirk. This worrisome face was a new face.

Kagome stood up, her head down. She slighty rose it. She opened the glass bottle, and dunked the final shard onto her palm. Kagome looked at it for a moment, then inserted it into the Shikon no Tama. It began to glow a bright purple. Finally, the Shikon no Tama was complete.

Inuyasha bored his eyes into it. His worried face changed into a thoughtful one.

"Here." Kagome said flatly, holding the Shikon no Tama out to him. "Make your wish."

He took the purple ball unwillingly. For a moment he stared at it. Suddenly, he threw it back at her. It bounced off of her chest, and onto the ground.

"What are you doing?" she boomed, picking it up. "Make your wish!" Inuyasha just stood silent.

"You're never like this! All you ever do is talk. . . which is why I sit you." she felt anger fuming inside of her. "If. . . you want Kikyou for you final moment as your true self, go ahead! I'm going home! I suppose it's obviously that. . . I'll never see you again."

She picked up her bag, throwing the shard to the ground, until Inuyasha suddenly grabbed her arm.

His yellow eyes filled with small tears. "Kagome. You don't see it?" he asked.

"See what?" she yelled.

"My wish has already come true." he began. "My wish is to stay with my friends. . . because they only mean the world to me!"

He picked up the Shikon no Tama off of the ground. "Though. . . I have one wish that I still must make."

Kagome stood back, dropped her bag, and watched in awe.

He closed his eyes. I want Kagome to be happy, because that's all I've ever wanted.

Suddenly the purple ball faded into the air.

"Inuyasha.. what--"

She was cut off by his lips.

I know it was corny, but in the anime or manga it would be really sweet.
