'I hate balls!' Lily Evans thought angrily to herself. 'You get all dressed up, for what! A date that ditches you from the minute you step on the dance floor!' Lily sulked at the table, watching her friends, laughing with their dates, having the time of their lives. What she didn't notice was James Potter, the one who loved her since the beginning, walk up the stage with the rest of the Marauders.
"Hi everyone! I hope everyone's having a great time!" Loud cheers erupted from the dance floor. "Well, I know that it's a tradition to have a live song at a dance, so the Marauders and I have decided to for you a very special song dedicated to a very special girl to me." James looked straight as Lily as the music started. James started singing, keeping his eyes locked with Lily's. Lily looked right back into his.

Lily smiled when he finished, placed her hands on his cheeks, and lightly kissed him. James felt elated from even that small kiss. He was grinning stupidly, while the rest of the Marauders cheered loudly from the stage. "Oy Sirius!" Remus yelled. "You owe me 30 galleons!" However, Sirius was no where to be found.
