I don't own Total Drama and The Walking Dead.
Sorry if you find any grammar mistakes. I'm still learning English because it's not my first language.
Brendan: I don't know when I'm going to post TD and RE:V crossover (I already have some of the things planned out like who is going to survive and how certain characters are going to die). I know about Resident Evil Infinite Darkness and I will surely watch it once it comes out. I hope you'll like this chapter. :)
The Governor continued glaring at Michonne as he slowly lowered his pistol, knowing that shooting her, DJ and Hershel was not going to help him and Jose in achieving their goal. The three people in front of him and Jose were the key to getting them into the prison and getting their revenge on Rick and his group for what happened all those months ago.
The one eyed man turned to look at Jose who had his free hand in the air, as he probably planned to stop him from firing his pistol at Michonne, Hershel and DJ if the he didn't refrain himself from doing so.
"So." The spanish man began, lowering his hand, "What do we do now with them?"
"We should take them to our camp." The Governor replied, "They're the key to getting us in."
"You took those words out of my mouth, amigo." Jose nodded his head in agreement as he eyed the three people in front of him, "The old man isn't much a threat. We shouldn't have much problems with him. I think I can say the same about the other guy. Michonne is a threat, though. We need to knock her out before she'll notice us."
"I'll take care of her." The Governor declared, starting to make his way towards DJ, Michonne and Hershel, "You'll stay here until I'll take care of her."
Jose nodded in understanding, "Got it."
The Governor slowly and quietly walked over to the tall tree which was standing next to the blue truck, making sure to not make any noise while doing so, not wanting to alarm Hershel, DJ and Michonne. He hid behind the tree and waited for the right opportunity to strike. He didn't had to wait long as the opportunity came a few moments later when the three people from the prison started approaching their vehicle, with the dark skinned woman walking in the front of the group of three.
He hit her right in the back with the back of his pistol, knocking her down as DJ and Hershel quickly started reaching for their pistols, but never had a chance to use them because they were forced to throw them aside when they saw Jose stepping out of the bushes behind the Governor.
Jose approached the Governor and stopped right by his side, aiming his M4A1 at defensless Hershel and DJ, "If you are planning to do something, then I will give you some friendly advice. Just don't do it. "
He turned to look at the Governor and offered his friend a nod of his head. The Governor nodded in return and approached Hershel and DJ. He grabbed DJ by his hands and binded them together before doing the same to Hershel's hands. The first part of their plan was complete, now they just had to convice people from their camp to join them.
A large crowd of people was gathered in the middle of the Governor's and Jose's camp. Their leader was standing in front of them, to make sure all of them were going to hear he had to say to them about the prison and and his right man hand was standing right by his side.
"We have to talk all of you into doing something." The Governor began, looking around the people from his camp, "Something I and Jose here know we need to do. And I don't know how to talk about it."
"What do you want us to do?" Trevor asked out of curiosity, standing between his sister and Alisha.
"I want you to survive and I'm sure that Jose here wants the same." The Governor replied to Trevor's question, "We're not gonna last here. The biters, there'll be a herd of them. They'll fill the pits, they'll crawl over one another. There'll be enough to tear right through our camp."
"We all saw what happened with Meghan not that long ago." Jose continued, "We had so many people on guard, and yet, a muerto sneaked into our camp and almost killed her. We can't let that happen again."
"There's nothing between us and the rest of the world." The Governor continued from there, "Nothing between us and them. We stay here, we'll die. The people who destroyed the camp I was in with Martinez... they live in a prison. It's north off Highway."
Jose folded his arms as he followed, "The people who destroyed the camp I and Brian were in with Martinez... they live in a prison. It's north off Highway. They got walls... fences, plots of land for farming. We could live there."
"If we're willing to take it from 'em. I have a plan to do it without anyone getting hurt." The Governor added, "We captured three of them."
"What?" Tara asked in suprise, wanting to be sure if she didn't misheard it.
"We were scouting the prison and our paths crossed, so I took 'em." The Governor explained, "They're the key. They're gonna help us take that prison without firing a shot. We can have it and we don't need to kill anyone. But... we need to be prepared to."
"If not everything will go according to our plan which I will not happen, and the killing will start, don't let their appearance deceive you." Jose added, "You will see women there, children even, but I assure my friends, most of the people that live in there are beasts, that are no different from the muertos we kill without a second thought."
"He's right." The Governor nodded his head, "I'm not saying that all the people in there are bad, but most of them are. The new world has changed them, twisted them into creatures that kill other people without a second thought with no regard for human life."
The spanish man shook his head and let out as sigh, "You have no idea how hard it is for me to talk about those people from the prison, especially that I have think about one member from their group."
Wyatt sighed, knowing to who his friend was referring to as Monica looked at Jose, offering him a concerned look, "Who is this person if I may ask?"
"My younger brother Alejandro. He choose those diablos from the prison over his own brother." Jose sighed sadly, as Monica's eyes widened in shock. Everyone around Jose offered him a sympathetic look, not even thinking about what he had to go through when his own brother aided the people that attacked his home, "I can't help but wonder, now why should people like that, people that don't care about anyone but themselves, people like my brother, have peace of mind when we're burying our own just about every day?"
"They mutilated me... burned my and Jose's camp... killed my daughter." The Governor paused for a second, turning to look at Tara and exchanging a look with her, "Now you saw me- I tried. I tried to die. 'Cause I didn't want to accept that you couldn't live in this world without getting blood on your hands. I found you people and I don't want to die. I don't want you to die. Now we need to move- now. They're gonna realize their people are gone and they're gonna start getting ready for whatever's next. We need to surprise them. Scare them."
"You don't need to worry about losing, amigos, we will win." Jose offered the people around him a firm assuring nod, "I'm sure of that."
"I'm in." Wyatt stepped forward, offering Jose and the Governor a determinded nod, "Let's do this."
Tara followed his example, "I'm in."
Alisha nodded, "Me too."
"So am I." Monica nodded, with her brother nodding in agreement as the people around them started voicing their agreement. The Governor exchanged a look with Jose once everyone voiced their agreement, both of them gladdened that the people from their camp agreed with their plan and decided to join them.
The one eyed man looked around his people and declared, "Pack up and get ready. We'll go over the plan in half an hour."
Right after meeting with the people from their camp and explaining their plan to them, The Governor and Jose made their way into the RV which was guarded by Mitch, because this was where they placed Michonne, DJ and Hershel after bringing them to their camp.
"Don't touch me." Michonne hissed at the Governor who was patching up her forehead, "Get off me."
"You should eat something." Jose stated as he stood up from his seat and approached Michonne, DJ and Hershel right after the Governor finished patching up Michonne's forehead, giving them some food, "We have a long day ahead of us."
"Nobody's gonna hurt you." The Governor assured Hershel, DJ and Michonne as he sat down on his seat in front of his prisoners, with Jose taking his seat next to him shorty after.
"I don't believe that." Hershel voiced his doubts.
Jose shrugged, "Well, we don't care."
"You killed Courtney." DJ said to Jose, "Andrea told us exactly what happened. She told us how you stabbed her in the stomach and left her to bleed out in front of her."
"Courtney brought this on herself." Jose told him, "I gave her a warning not to attack us with a knife, and she chose to do so anyway. I did what anybody else would have done in this situation."
"Just tell us what this is." Hershel told Jose and the Governor, "Please."
"It isn't personal." The Governor replied.
"Then what is it?" Hershel wanted to know.
"Michonne, I want you to know..." The Governor spoke up to Michonne, "Penny, my daughter, she was dead. I know that now. Now, I don't want to hurt you. I don't want to hurt anyone. I need the prison, that's it. There are people I need to keep alive. You two are gonna help me take it. No one needs to die."
Michonne glared at the Governor, "I'm gonna kill you."
"No." The Governor shook his head, "You won't."
"I'm gonna take my..." Michonne was interrupted.
"Stop it." Hershel shushed her, "You want the prison? "
"Yeah." The Governor nodded in confirmation, "And I'll take it as peacefully as I can."
"Jose, Governor..." Hershel began, but was interrupted.
"Don't call me that." The one eyed man cut him off.
"Your people, our people, we can find a way to live together." Hershel continued, "These people you need to keep alive, do you love them?"
"This ain't going to happen." Jose shook his head at Hershel's offer right after hearing it, "Our groups will never be able to live together. Me and that juvie, we'll never be able to live together, not after I killed his girlfriend."
"We'll find a way." Hershel insisted.
"I found a way!" The Governor shouted, "I'm trying hard. There's all kinds of ways I could do this. This way, you get to live and I get to be..."
"You say you and Jose want to take this prison as peacefully as possible." Hershel began as the Governor stopped talking in the middle of the sentence, as if his words just died in his throat. The one eyed man stood up from his seat and walked over to the exit from the RV, "That means you'd be willing to hurt people to get it. My daughters would be there. That's who you'd be hurting. If you understand what it's like to have a daughter, then how can you threaten to kill someone else's?"
"Because they aren't mine." The Governor responded before walking out of the RV. He shut the doors behind him and left Jose alone with Hershel, DJ, and Michonne.
"I want you to know something." Jose began a few seconds after the Governor exited the RV, "This entire thing might not be personal for Philip, but it is personal for me. I want you to know how it feels when some people just appear in your lives completely out of nowhere and destroy everything you worked so hard to built."
"You will make everything go wrong and our groups will start fighting each other as a result of your actions?" DJ asked him, "Is this what you're planning to do?"
Jose shook his head at DJ's accusation, "No. It may suprise you but I'm not a monster. I do want people from this camp to have a place to go. A place where they won't have to worry about muertos killing them and their loved ones. A place where they won't have to worry about having to kill their loved one after a muerto bit them. Just leaving you without a place to go will be good enough for me. You will know what I went through after Woodbury was destroyed."
"What about Alejandro?" DJ asked as Jose stood up from his seat and walked over to the exit from the RV, "Are you really going to leave your brother with no place to go or even worse kill him to get the prison?"
"I already made myself clear to Al." Jose replied, clenching his fist, his gaze on the doors in front of him, "I'm loyal to my friend who saved my life when I was on my lowest after I was left all alone after I had to kill Carlos after he was bitten. What will happen between me and Al today, happens."
"Alejandro told us what happened to your other brother I'm sorry for what happened to him. I know how it is to lose a family member during all of this. I lost my Momma." DJ said. He let out a saddened sigh when the images of his Momma coming out of the barn at Hershel's farm flew through his mind, "I know that you're loyal to the Governor, because he saved your life, and I can understand that, but have you ever wondered that there might be other better way? That the man that you're loyal to might not be the best person to follow and is turning you into a much worse person? That this man is corrupting you?"
"What are you trying to say by that?" Jose asked, wanting to DJ to go straight to the point.
"What I'm trying to say is that you can change, just like I did. I used to be afraid of my own shadow and now I'm ready to risk my life for my friends who I grew to love as my own family." DJ explained, "You can be someone else, someone better. It may take a while for you to change, and to some people to forgive your actions, but I'm sure that this is possible."
"He's right, Jose." Hershel agreed with DJ, "You may have done terrible things, but you can still come back. You're not too far gone. You can change. You can be someone better."
"...You're a good man, DJ and so are you Hershel." Jose responded after a moment of silence between him and his prisoners.
It was the last thing that he said to them. He pushed the doors of the RV open and exited the vehicle, making sure to lock the doors behind him. They were heading out soon.
He had to get ready.
Gwen was in her cell, laying on her bunk and looking up at the bunk above hers as she was still trying to return to her best condition. Her condition may have been much better than it was last night when the flu almost killed her, but she still had some recovery ahead of her and was told by Bridgette to stay on her bunk for at least one more day. The goth didn't mind it at all. At least she'll have enough time to rest after the last few rough days.
"Hey, Gwen." A familiar voice rang through her ears. She looked in the direction from which the noise came from and saw Cody who was standing in the entrance to her cell.
"Cody." She smiled up at him, happy to see him, as she sat up on her bunk, "You came."
"Leshawna told me that you wanted to see me, so I came." Cody returned her smile, "How are you feeling?"
Gwen stood up from her bunk as she replied, "I still need to stay in my cell for at least a day, but I'm doing much better now."
"I'm glad to hear that." Cody nodded his head, rubbing the back of his head, "Things weren't looking so good when I and Noah found you and Glenn last night."
"That's why I wanted to see you." Gwen said as she embraced Cody, giving him a grateful hug, "I just want to say thank you. For saving my life. I probably wouldn't be standing here now if you didn't help me."
Cody chuckled internally when he thought of how he would react to her hugging him before the world turned into what it is today. He might have had a crush on her before all of this started, but if he was honest with himself, he had gotten over it a long time ago.
"No problem. I did what anyone else would in my place." He said, returning his friends hug, "After all, that's what friends are for right?"
Gwen nodded her head, still hugging the geek, "Right."
Glenn was in his cell, laying on the mattress on the floor, recovering from the flu. His condition may have been better than it was thenight before but he still needed to rest. His wife was there with him, sitting on the floor next to him and holding his hand in hers.
"I could use a vacation." Glenn said to his wife, causing both of them to laugh at his words, "Get away. Just for a weekend."
Maggie smiled and nodded, "Yeah."
"You know, our anniversary is coming up." Glenn began.
"It is?" Maggie asked him, her smile not leaving her face.
Glenn nodded his head in response, "One of these days."
"You ever been to Amicalola Falls? Tallest waterfall in Georgia." Maggie asked to which Glenn shook his head, "My dad took me there when I was little. When we were up there, all the way at the top looking down, I felt like I was flying."
"I'll go load up the station wagon." Glenn declared, liking this idea as Maggie smiled before leaning down and planting a quick kiss on her husband's cheek.
"I'm gonna get you some water." She told her husband, standing up from her sitting position.
"I can get it." Glenn offered to go instead.
"I know." Maggie nodded, walking over to the exit from the cell, "But I'm doing it. I'll be right back."
The angry screams echoed through the cellblock as Rick and Chef were in the middle of the conversation with Daryl and Duncan. They told the redneck and the juvie about Carol and that they kicked her out of the group for her own good, and just like they excepted, Daryl and Duncan were less than happy when they found out about Carol's departure.
Duncan glared at Rick and Chef and yelled out in anger, "Man, you couldn't have waited till we got back?"
"Until Tyreese got back?" Chef asked him, "I understand that you're angry..."
"Angry?" Duncan scowled, cutting Chef off, "That's the understatement of the century."
Ignoring what the juvie just said, Chef continued, "But you know what Tyreese would do Carol if he found out that was her. I'm sure that Daryl told you about how he beat up Rick after he showed us the bodies."
"We could've handled that." Daryl said, glaring at Chef and Rick just like Duncan. to which Duncan nodded in agreement.
"She killed two of our own. She couldn't be here." Rick told Duncan and Daryl, "She's gonna be all right. She has a car, supplies, weapons. She's a survivor."
"Stop saying that like you don't believe it." Daryl said through gritted teeth, his glare not leaving his face.
"She did it." Rick said, "She said it was for us."
"That's how it was in her head." Chef added, "She wasn't sorry."
"Man, that's her, but that ain't her." Daryl shook his head, this time sounding much calmer than a few seconds ago.
Duncan crossed his arms, as he leaned against the railing to calm himself down, "What are we supposed to do about those two girls she started looking after Ryan died?"
"We told her we'd look after them." Chef gave Duncan an assuring nod.
"What are you going to tell them?" Duncan asked him another question, "Sorry we kicked your mum out, but we had to do it?"
Chef sighed, "We'll figure something out."
"We haven't told Tyreese yet." Rick declared, "I don't know how he's gonna take it."
"Let's go find out." Daryl said as he started walking down the steps.
"What he said." Duncan nodded in agreement, following Daryl.
Chef and Rick exchanged a look with each other before following them, beginning their search for Tyreese.
A few minutes later, Rick, Chef, Daryl and Duncan were walking together through the hallways where they used to keep Karen and David when they were still alive, knowing that it was exactly where they were going to find Tyreese.
"Tyreese!" Rick called out for Tyreese, "You down here?"
"Rick? That's you?" Tyreese's voice responded from the distance. The dark skinned man appeared in the view a few seconds later as he came walking down the hallway, "You guys got to see this."
"Can we take a beat?" Rick asked him, "There's something we need to talk about."
"It can wait." Tyreese replied as he turned away from them and started walking towards the place from which he came from, "Come on." Chef, Rick, Daryl and Duncan followed him as he led them down the hallway. He stopped in front of the closed doors and shined his flashlight at the thing that he wanted to show them, "Look."
"The hell?" Daryl said right after setting his gaze on the thing that Tyreese wanted to show them as Duncan, Rick and Chef stared at Tyreese's finding in disgust. They all saw a stone wall plate with a dead rat nailed to it which had it's skin cut off and it's orgasm were visible.
"I was just looking for... answers... and I found this." Tyreese explained, pointing at the rat, "Same person that killed Karen and David did this. Remember the rats at the fence? They showed up the same day she was killed. We got a psychopath living with us..."
"Tyreese..." Rick began but was interrupted by Tyreese who continued.
"...We got to find them, guys." The dark skinned man continued, "And I'm not gonna sleep until we do."
"Tyreese..." Chef began. He exchanged a look with Rick, Daryl and Duncan before continuing, "...Whoever did this, I don't think that's who killed Karen."
"Why?" Tyreese asked, confused.
He never received an answer to his question as Chef was interrupted by a loud explosion coming from outside the building. The explosion was so powerful that it shook the entire building in which they were at the moment.
"What the hell?" Duncan asked as he looked up at the ceiling.
"Let's go!" Chef quickly reacted to the explosion and started running towards the exit from the hallways, with Rick, Duncan, Daryl and Tyreese quickly following him. The group of five quickly made their way outside and saw Maggie, Carl, Beth, Bob, Sasha, Oscar, Harold, Chris, Bridgette, Geoff, Leshawna, Trent, Izzy, Ezekiel, Cody, Noah, Eva, Alejandro and Heather standing in front of the fence, watching something from the distance.
The group of five ran over to the fence and much to their horror saw a couple of vehicles and a tank standing in front of the fence, with a lot of completely unknown people standing next to them, with their guns in ready. They quickly spotted two familiar faces among the strangers that just attacked their home. The Governor was standing on top of the tank and Jose was standing next to the same tank, with some beanie wearing man standing next to him.
"Rick!" The Governor shouted, standing on top of the tank, "Come down here! We need to talk!"
"It's not up to me!" Rick yelled in response after a moment, "There's a council now. They run this place."
"Is Hershel on the council?" The Governor asked as Alisha brought Hershel out of the truck. The whole group, especially Maggie and Beth tensed up and became nervous as the Governor continued, "DJ? What about him?" Trevor brought DJ out of the same truck. Bridgette placed her hand over her mouth, a nervous expression forming on her facial features as Geoff and Duncan just stared ahead of them, worried for their friend, with the latter feeling how the rage started filling up his body, "What about Michonne? She on the council, too?"
"I don't make decisions anymore!" Rick shouted as Monica brought Michonne out of the truck. She wrapped her free arm around the dark skinned woman and led her to DJ and Hershel who were placed down on their knees and lined up in a row.
"You're making the decisions today, Rick." The Governor told him, "Come down here. Let's have that talk."
Rick remained silent and turned to look at Daryl, Chef and Chris who nodded their heads at him. He turned around to take a look at his group. He saw Alejandro clenching his fist as he stared angrily at his brother, Maggie and Beth staring nervously ahead of them, Duncan who's eyes were filled with rage as he get his gaze on Jose, the person that killed his beloved Courtney, but this rage was mixed with worry for his friend who was taken hostage by those bastards, and Geoff and Harold who were trying to calm him down.
The sheriff deputy holstered his Python and looked at his son. He placed his hand on his shoulder and and let him know that he'll be okay, "We can do this. All right?"
Carl nodded his head to that as Rick removed his hand from his shoulder. He walked over to the gate which was opened by Ezekiel and Cody and walked through it, hearing how the geek and the homeschool closed it right after he walked into the fields.
"What do we do now?" Leshawna asked as Rick started making his way towards the people that were holding his people hostage.
"We can't take 'em all on." Chris shook his head, sighing, "We ain't got the numbers no more."
"We'll have go through the admin building, through the woods like we planned." Daryl stated, "When's the last time someone checked the stash on the bus?"
"I and Oscar checked it about a day before we hit the Big Spot." Harold replied to which Oscar nodded in confirmation, "We were running low on rations then. We're lower now."
"We'll have to manage with what we've got." Chef stated, with Daryl nodding his head in agreement as he turned to look at Tyreese, Sasha and Geoff, "Things go south, everyone heads for that bus. Let everybody know."
"What if everybody doesn't know when things go bad?" Tyreese asked him.
Geoff nodded his head to that, his worried gaze still set on DJ, "How long do we wait?"
"As long as we can." Chef replied as he turned to look at Heather, Leshawna and Trent, "Give everyone a weapon. We need to be ready for anything."
Heather, Leshawna and Trent nodded in understanding and quickly headed off to do what they were told.
"Let them go." Rick said to the Governor and Jose the moment he approached the fence, "I'll stay down here. Talk as long as you want. But you let 'em go. You got a tank. You don't need hostages."
"You're wrong." The Governor shook his head, disagreeing with Rick's words, "We do."
"This is just to show you we're serious." Jose explained as he pointed at the tank next to him, "Not to blast a hole in our new home."
"You and your people, you have till sundown to get out of here or they die." The Governor added.
"Doesn't have to go down this way." Rick said, trying to find a way to reason with them.
"I got more people, more firepower." The Governor pointed out, gesturing to the people from his camp, "We need this prison. There it is. It's not about the past. It's about right now."
"There are children here." Rick told the Governor and Jose, "Some of them are sick. They won't survive."
"We have a tank. And I'm letting you walk away from here." The Governor retorted, "What else is there to talk about?"
Heather, Leshawna, Trent rolled two boxed of over to their group, making sure to hide them behind the watch tower, out of the Governor's and Jose's sight. Trent took out a pistol and a AR-15 and held them out to Bob.
"Hey, man." He said to the dark skinned man, "You good?"
Bob gave him an assuring nod, knowing to what Trent was referring to and took the weapons he was giving him, "Yeah."
Trent nodded his head and patted Bob on his shoulder, before going back to the box as Leshawna held out a pistol to Bridgette, "You alright, girl?"
Bridgette gave her a nervous nod and took the pistol from her, "Yeah. I'm fine.""
"You don't need to hide the fact that you're nervous, sister." Leshawna told her, offering her an assuring smile, "I'm nervous as much as you are."
Heather walked over to Alejandro and handed him his scoped machine rifle. She send him a worried look once she saw him staring ahead at Jose, "How are you doing?"
"Just as well you can except, mi amor." Alejandro shook his head, with a sigh leaving his lungs.
Heather placed her hand on his shoulder, "I don't your brother as much as you do, but I know you, and I know that you're not him. Whatever happens today, I want you to know that I'll be there for you."
Alejandro offered his girlfriend a smile, letting her know that he knew about that, "I know you will, mi amor."
Heather returned his smile, as she removed her hand from his shoulder before walking back to the box and took out more guns. She, Leshawna and Trent proceeded to hand out more weapons to their friends from their group who continued to watch the negotation.
"We could shoot you all." The Governor continued speaking with Rick, "You'd all shoot back. I know that. But we'll win and you'll be dead. All of you."
His and and everyone's else attention was shifted from the prison to the edge of the forest when the familiar sound of grunting and growling rang through their ears. They saw two walkers coming out of the woods and walking towards them. The Governor glanced down at Jose who instantly knew what to do. He nodded his head at the one eyed man and walked over to the undead. He fired two bullets from his M4A1 because it was enough to get rid of the undead that just interrupted negotiations.
"You better hurry it up, Rick." The spanish man said to Rick as he gave him a quick look, coming back to his spot next to Wyatt.
"He's right." The Governor nodded, "Noise will only draw more of them over. The longer you wait, the harder it will be for you to get out of here."
Carl aimed his shotgun through the fence as he spoke up to Daryl, Chef and Chris who were doing the same next to him, "We got to do something."
"Your dad's got it." Daryl said, aiming his M4A1 through the fence.
"They're talking." Carl pointed out, "We could kill the Governor right now."
"From yards?" Chef asked him, aiming his M16 through the fence.
"I'm a good shot and so is Chris." Carl replied, "I can shoot the Governor and he can shoot Jose. We could end this right now."
"Yeah, or you could start something else." Daryl pointed out.
Chef shook his head, not liking Carl's idea, finding it to be too risky, "It is too risky, Carl."
"I agree with them, Carl." Chris agreed with Chef and Daryl, looking through the scope of his rifle at the people standing in front of the fence, "You got to trust your dad."
The Governor looked up at the sky, "You got maybe about an hour of sunlight left. I suggest you start packing. The longer you wait, the harder it's gonna be for you to get out of here."
Rick turned his gaze towards Hershel who nodded his head at him. The sheriff deputy knew what he should say next, "...We can all live together. There's enough room for all of us."
The Governor shook his head at Rick's offer, "More than enough. But I don't think my family would sleep well knowing that you were under the same roof."
"We'd live in different cell blocks." Rick began, "We'd never have to see each other till we're all ready."
Hershel felt how a small smile formed on his lips when he heard Rick's offer as he looked over his shoulder, "It could work. You know it could."
DJ looked over his shoulder at Jose and whispered, "Remember what I told you earlier that day in the RV." to him, hoping that it will help in the negotations but Jose either didn't hear him or pretended not to hear him.
"It could've." The Governor admitted, "But it can't. Not after Woodbury. Not after Andrea. Not after Courtney."
"Look, I'm not saying it's gonna be easy." Rick told the Governor and Jose, "Fact is, it's gonna be a hell of a lot harder than standing here shooting at each other. But I don't think we have a choice."
"We don't." The Governor shook his head, "You do."
"We're not leaving." Rick shook his head in return, "You try and force us, we'll fight back. Like you said, the gunshots will just bring more of them out. They'll take down the fences. Without the fences, this place is worthless. Now, we can all live in the prison or none of us can."
The Governor gritted his teeth, growing more angered and impatient by Rick as he jumped off the tank. He turned around to look at Wyatt who held Michonne's katana out to him. The one eyed man unsheathed it and turned his gaze towards Jose before nodding his head at the spanish man. Jose nodded his head in return, knowing what they were going to do next.
They approached Hershel, DJ and Michonne and the Governor pressed Michonne's katana on Hershel's neck, ready to cut it at any second while Jose pressed the barrel of his M4A1 against the back of DJ's head. The brickhouse let out a deep nervous breath when he felt Jose's gun on the back of his head. not recalling the last time when he was this scared. It must have been back when he and his group encountered Dave's and Tony's group in the bar that Rick, Chef, Chris and Glenn found him and Hershel in after they left the farm after incident with the barn.
Beth and Maggie shoved themselves towards the fence, letting out nervous whimpers once they saw how the Governor put Michonne's katana against their father's neck. Bridgette let out a nervous breath as Geoff and Duncan felt an urge of pulling the trigger of their guns and opening fire at Jose once they saw how the spanish's man placed the barrel of his M4A1 against DJ's head but ultimately stopped themselves from doing so, knowing that it was just going to make things worse. Alejandro glared at his brother as he fought the same urge as Geoff and Duncan, but just like them decided to let Rick handle this because opening fire at the Governor and Jose was just too risky.
"You. You in the ponytails." Rick pointed at Tara as he was running out of options, "Is this what you want? Is this what any of you want?"
"What we want is what you got. Period." Mitch said, "Time for you to leave, asshole."
"Look, I fought both of them before. And after, we took in their old friends. They've become leaders in what we have here. Now you put down your weapons, walk through those gates... you're one of us." Rick said as Wyatt, Tara, Trevor, Mitch and Monica exchanged looks with each other, "We let go of all of it, and nobody dies. Everyone who's alive right now. Everyone who's made it this far. We've all done the worst kinds of things just to stay alive. But we can still come back. We're not too far gone. We get to come back. I know... we all can change."
Hershel smiled at Rick, knowing that he had the right man to follow all those months ago as the Governor slowly started pulling Michonne's katana away from his neck, keeping his gaze on the blade in his grasp while doing. DJ felt how a small smile formed on his lips when he felt how Jose pulled his M4A1 away from his head. A lot of people from Rick's group exchanged suprised looks with each other.
Were the Governor and Jose actually listening to the reason?
Their hopes were quickly slashed as the Governor turned his gaze away from Michonne's katana and turned it towards Rick. He gave him a cold look before letting out a quiet, "...Liar."
He turned to look at Jose and gave him a quick nod of his head, earning a nod of understanding from the spanish man. It was the last thing that the one eyed man did before swinging Michonne's katana and slicing the left half of Hershel's neck. Blood began to pour out of Hershel's neck as his own blood began to stain his clothes.
DJ turned his gaze towards his left side and saw how the farmer slowly collapsed on the ground with a huge bleeding cut on the left side of his neck. It was just a second before he could feel how Jose once again pressed the barrel of his M4A1 against the back of his head. The brickhouse looked up at the sky, bracing himself for what was about to happen to him, "I'm coming Momma!"
Those were his last thoughts before Jose pulled the trigger of his M4A1. His machine rifle fired one bullet which hit DJ right in the middle of his head. The lovable giant fell on the ground, his face facing the dirt, dead.
"NO!" Rick screamed as he pulled out his Python and fired it at the Governor, hitting him in the arm.
The one eyed let out a groan and pressed his hand against his fresh wound as he and Jose went behind the tank for cover. Their group opened fire at Rick's group as Rick started running back to his group who didn't waste their time and returned fire, but never had a chance to reach them as one of the bullets fired by someone from the Governor's and Jose's militia hit him. Rick had no other options but to hide behind a rolled over bus.
"Dad!" Maggie yelled out in pure despair as she opened fire at the Governor's and Jose's forces.
Beth gripped the fence, tears appearing in her eyes, "Daddy!"
"DJ!" Bridgette screamed out her friends name in despair as she was just forced to watch him die.
"I'll fucking kill this bastard!" Duncan shouted in pure rage, referring to Jose as he pulled the trigger of his Colt Model 933 and started firing at the people that just attacked him and his group. Geoff remained silent, glaring ahead as he opened fire at the Governor's and Jose's militia, feeling how the desire of avenging Courtney's and DJ's death was slowly overcoming his body.
Alejandro gritted his teeth, feeling nothing but anger inside of him as he fired his machine gun at the bastards that just attacked him and his group while trying to spot Jose among them after he and the Governor fleed out of their sight after Rick fired his Python at them. The tiny bit of sympathy that he had left for his brother was gone. It was destroyed the moment Jose pulled the trigger and ended DJ's life. He was going to kill Jose. He was going to make sure that his brother was going to pay for everything he has done.
Michonne used the opportunity and rolled out of the gunfire into cover behind one of the cars. She started cutting off her restrains with the hook on the back of the car as wounded Hershel between the tank and Wyatt's pickup, crawling away from the gunfire and leaving a trail of blood behind him. The Governor came over to him and grabbed him by his clothes, making the farmer look up at him.
The one eyed man started bringing Michonne's katana down on Hershel's neck, killing the eldery farmer. The Governor didn't stop until Hershel's head was completely separated from his body. He stared down at Hershel's lifeless corpse for a few seconds before looking up. He saw Lilly who was standing ahead of him, with dead Meghan in her hands.
He dropped Michonne's katana on the ground and approached Lilly. He took Meghan from her and gave the lifeless young girl one last looking before pulling out his pistol. He pulled the trigger and shoot Meghan in the head right in front of Lilly who put her hands over her ears, wanting to make the sound of the gunfight go away.
"You!" Mitch pointed at Tara who was hiding between the vehicles from his spot on top of the tank, "Pick up your weapon and fight now!"
Alisha quickly noticed that something was wrong with Tara. She approached Tara and knelt down in front of her. Tara looked up at her and shook her head, letting out a quiet, "...We're not supposed to be doing this."
"We are." Alisha told her.
"He chopped off that guy's head off with a sword and Jose shot that boy in the head!" Tara pointed out.
"We have to stay here. It's too late. You understand me?" Alisha asked to which Tara nodded her head in understanding, "Stay behind me and if we get separated, you just go run somewhere safe and hide. You hear me? You go someplace safe and hide and I will find you when this is all over. I will find you."
"Go through the fence in your cars. Get your guns, we go in." The Governor declared as he made his way back to the front of his and Jose's militia, "Kill them all!"
"You heard the man!" Wyatt yelled out to the people from his group, understanding his new order.
Mitch took off his cap and waved it above his head, "Move it!"
Everyone from his group reacted to his words. It was just a matter of seconds before the tank and the cars started moving in. The tank rolled through the fence, completely knocking it down, allowing everyone from the Governor's and Jose's militia to enter the other side of the fence, either in the car or on foot. The cars started driving through the field as the people who were on their foot made sure to stay hidden behind the tank as it continued to move towards the gate.
Bridgette's pistol just ran out of the ammo, but the surfer didn't reload it. She instead turned to look at Geoff and Duncan who kept firing at the Governor's and Jose's militia, "I need to go and make sure the children are safe."
Geoff instantly nodded his head at her, firing his gun at the people that just murdered his friend, "Go, Bridge. We'll see each other once this is all over!"
Bridgette nodded her head at her boyfriend and turned away from the fence. She pushed herself into run towards the place where she should, or at least hoped to finds the kids. She had to hurry. She had to get them to safety as fast as she could.
Alejandro heard the short conversation between Geoff and Bridgette. He reloaded his gun and spoke up to Heather who was next to him, "Go with Bridgette, mi amor! It should be more safer for the children when there will be two fo you.."
Heather nodded her head in understanding as she turned away from the fence, intending to join Bridgette, "Be safe."
"Don't worry about me." Alejandro assured his girlfriend, earning a nod of her head in response. Heather pushed herself into run and soon enough catched up to Bridgette. The two of them went into the cellbock, beginning their search for the children in order to get them to safety.
Maggie and Beth proceeded to fire their machine guns at the people that just murdered their father for at least several more seconds until their guns completely ran out of the ammo. They turned away from the fence and started running towards the bus that was going to take everyone away from the prison as more and more people who were unable to fight were getting themselves into it.
The people who were hiding behind the tank were getting closer and closer to the main gate. The Governor took his cover behind a rolled over bus and fired his pistol from there as Jose slammed his hand down on the back of the tank a few times, "Mitch! You know what to do!"
The tank fired just a few seconds later and the missile hit the massive window of one of the cellblocks, causing it to explode into dozens of pieces and making everyone who was running out the block towards the bus at the moment to cover their heads. The tank fired again shorty after and this time it almost hit the entrance to the cellblock which caused Trent, Sasha, Bob and Leshawna to turn around to look at the destruction and the smoke that the missile created behind them.
"Go!" Tyreese shouted to them, firing his weapon at the Governor's and Jose's militia, "Get out of there!"
"Guys." Trent said to Sasha, Bob and Leshawna as they started making their way out of the tanks reach while Tyreese covered them, "I need to get Gwen. She's still inside."
"Go get her, sugar." Leshawna nodded her head at him, wanting her recovering friend to get to safety as fast as possible to which Sasha and Bob nodded in agreement. Trent nodded his head in return and started making his way towards the cellblock, intending to get Gwen out of there and take her to the bus.
Maggie and Beth ducked down when the explosion which was caused by another missile from the tank hitting the wall of the cellblock went off just a few meters away from them. The two sisters quickly got themselves back on their feet, once they realized that it was safe to move around again and made their way to the opened entrance to the bus.
"Glenn's in there." Maggie told her sister when they reached the entrance to the bus, "I have to get him."
"I'm going with you." Beth quickly told her sister in response.
Maggie shook her head at Beth's offer, "Get these people on the bus. Be ready to drive. I'll be right back."
"What if you're not?" Beth asked her.
"You have to go without us." Maggie replied.
Beth shook her head, "I won't go without you."
"Beth, get these people on the bus, okay?" Maggie told her sister, handing her machine gun over to her, "It's your job. We've all got jobs to do."
Beth gave her an uncertain nod of her head as Maggie quickly started running over to the cellblock, joining Trent who just like her was heading into that place to get someone to safety. At this point everyone from the prison's group started moving away from the fence as the tank was just moments after from rolling through the main gate.
The Governor got himself out of his cover and was about to catch up to his and Jose's militia but was stopped by Rick who came out of nowhere and jumped at him. The one eyed man was caught off the guard by Rick's sudden attack and brought down to the ground. The sheriff deputy got himself on top of him and started punching him in the face over and over again.
The tank rolled through the main gate of the prison, allowing everyone from Jose's and the Governor's militia to enter the yard. Some of the people from the prison's group retreated into the prison, knowing that running over to the bus with the people from their group was pretty much a death sentence for them with Jose's and the Governor's militia moving through the yard. Harold, Oscar and Ezekiel were one of those people.
Gwen and Glenn were stumbling down the steps of the staircase when Trent and Maggie ran into the cellblock, the former asking them, "Guys? What's going on?"
"Not now." Trent said, wrapping his arm around the goth as Maggie wrapped her arm around Glenn.
"Let's get outta here." Maggie said as she and Trent started leading Glenn and Gwen out of the cellblock. They got themselves out of the cellblock a few moments later and started running towards the bus, hearing how the people from their group were remained on the yard were still fighting off the people that invaded their home. She and Trent got Glenn and Gwen into the and it wasn't long before the older Greene noticed that someone was missing, "Beth! Where is she?"
"She went to find Judith." The woman who sat in the driver's seat replied.
"Where?" Maggie asked as the woman pointed in the direction in which Beth went off to get Judith. She was about to exit the bus but someone stopped her from doing so.
"What?" That person was Glenn. He moved towards the exit from the bus but Maggie stopped him from going any further, "No, you're not going by yourself."
"She won't be going by herself." Trent said as Maggie set Glenn down on the bus steps, letting Trent join her, "I'll go with her. Don't worry. We'll be right back."
He and Maggie quickly headed off in the direction that the woman just gave them as Glenn punched the the seat next to him in frustation. Gwen placed a comforting hand on his shoulder as she approached him. Daryl was firing his gun from his cover behind a metal crate when a single walker approached him from behind. The undead pressed him against the fence, but fortunely for Daryl, he quickly got rid of this problem by taking out one of his arrows and stabbing the undead in the head with it.
The Dixon lifted the now dead walker up from the ground. He came out of his cover a few seconds later, holding the body in front of him and using it as some sort of meat shield. The three people ahead of him shifted their attention towards him and opened fire at him, but luckilly for Daryl, his meat shield was working exactly the way he wanted it to and the body was taking all of the bullets fired his way.
He used his free hand to remove a pin from a grenade before throwing it at the people who were firing at him, the impact of the explosion knocking all of them down. The explosion starled Tara who was sitting behind the tank. She got herself back on her feet and started her way away from the battlefield, not wanting to be a part of this.
"Sasha! Leshawna! Bob!" Maggie called out for Sasha, Leshawna, Bob, pulling out her pistol as she and Trent approached the group of three who were taking cover behind a car, "Have you seen Beth?"
"Is she on the bus?" Sasha asked her in return.
"No..." Maggie was cut off by Bob who yelled out in pain as he was hit in the arm.
He leaned himself against the front of the car as Maggie and Leshawna quickly started checking his wound while Trent and Sasha provided them some cover fire, "Look inside my shirt. Check my back for an exit wound."
"Yeah." Maggie said, checking his back.
"Good." Bob nodded, "We can treat it."
"Stay down. We'll find someplace safe." Leshawna said to Bob as they looked up and saw that the bus was leaving with the people inside of it.
"We'll figure it out." Trent said, wrapping his arm around Bob and bringing him back on his feet, "Come on."
Maggie, Sasha, Bob, Trent and Leshawna started making their way to safety as Noah, Izzy and Cody watched them run towards the entrance to the cellblock from their position. The group of three instantly knew why they were heading into the cellblock. Their group created a couple exits in the fence around the prison just in case if the plan with the bus didn't work out or some people were left behind by the said bus a while back.
Izzy exchanged a look with Cody and Noah, all three of them agreeing what they should do next, without exchanging many words with each other. They had to get outta of here. This place was already lost, even if they won their fight against the Governor's and Jose's militia. They left their cover and started making their way towards the nearest secret exit from the prison. They arrived at their destination a few moments later.
Izzy pulled out her hunting knife and cut the line keeping the fence together. She wished that Ezekiel and Eva were with her, Noah and Cody now but she and her two friends lost the sight of them not long after the tank broke through the gate. The only thing she could do about her other friends right now was to wish that they were going to make it out of this alive.
She climbed through the hole in the fence, followed by Noah and Cody. They didn't waste time and started making their way through the field towards the massive hole in the fence that was created by the tank. They knew that running through the field was very risky, considering that the people who attacked them would have a pretty good view of them if even one of them could spot them, but there was no turning back now and this path was their best ticket out of this place.
Unfortunely their worries that someone will spot them running through the field became true when someone from the Governor's and Jose's militia spotted them. The man that spotted them nudged Jose, earning his attention.
The spanish man looked at him, "What is it?"
"What should I do with them?" The man asked in return, as he pointed at Izzy, Noah and Cody who were getting closer to the massive hole in the fence that would take them to safety.
"Take them out now." Jose replied right after setting his gaze on them as if it was the most obvious question he has ever heard, earning a nod from the man. The man nodded his head and looked through the scope of his rifle.
The group of three was getting closer to the woods when the sound of someone getting shot rang through Izzy's and Noah's ears. They turned around and their eyes snapped open in shock when they saw how Cody clutched his wounded bleeding stomach and collapsed on the ground, his face facing the ground. Blood started pouring out of his mouth as he could feel how his life was slowly leaving his body.
He looked up at his friends, giving them one last look, his expression saying only one word, "Run."
His friends turned away from his bleeding body and started running towards the woods again. Izzy and Noah did their best to stop themselves from looking back at their dying friend. They knew how much they would be risking if they looked back at Cody. They already risked enough by choosing this path as their way to escape the prison and they couldn't risk more. Running was the only thing they could do now.
Cody watched how his friends disappeared among the trees just seconds before he closed his eyes for the last time and never opened them again.
The man that just killed Cody lowered his rifle, whispering "Oh my God..." to himself over and over again.
Jose noticed that something was wrong with this man and came over to him, asking, "What's wrong, amigo?"
"I killed that boy..." The man that just killed Cody said, tears of guilt beginning to fall down his cheeks, "...I killed him."
Jose placed his hand on his shoulder, "How many people would that boy kill if you didn't kill him? Thanks to you, we will thanfully never have to find out. You should be proud that you killed him."
"Yeah, yeah..." The man that just killed Cody gave him a shaky nod in response. "Whatever..."
"What about the other two?" Trevor wanted to know what they should do with Izzy and Noah, "Should we send someone after them?"
"We leave them to the muertos. They probably have a death wish after seeing their buddy bit it." Jose replied to which Trevor nodded. He turned to look at Wyatt, "Wyatt. Take someone with you and take them inside. If you'll come across anyone from their group, and I mean anyone, kill them."
"Got it. Right away, mate." Wyatt nodded his head in understanding. He turned to look at one random man from his group and pointed his free hand at him. The man nodded his head at him in response before walking over to the closest cellblock with the beanie wearing man and entering it with him.
"Chef!" Chris called out for Chef as they were firing at the people that just attacked their home from their cover behind the catwalk, "We need to get outta of here. It is just a matter of time before this place will be swarmed with walkers."
Chef sighed, knowing that Chris was right. Their prison, their home was lost even if they won their clash with the people that attacked them. They had to leave, now, "I know."
He and Chris got themselves out of their cover and started backing away from the catwalk towards the entrance to the A block which was just a few meters behind them. Chris stopped in front of the entrance to the A block as Chef stayed behind him and made sure to cover his fellow host. Chris quickly opened the entrance to the A block and walked through it, entering it, followed by Chef. They started running through the A block, making their way to the back exit from it, hoping to find someone from their group in the process.
Tyreese started backing away from the battlefield as Alisha and Monica ganged up on him and started moving towards him, firing their machine guns at him while doing so. It was just a matter of seconds before the dark skinned man got cornered by the two women from the Governor's and Jose's militia and had no other choice but to dive behind the plants.
Alisha stopped firing her M4A1 at Tyreese when a familiar sound of someone firing their gun rang through her ears. At first she ignored it, thinking that it was someone from her group, but she was quickly proven to be wrong when Monica collapsed on the ground with a bullet hole in her forehead, not a single breath leaving her lungs.
Alisha turned her gaze towards the person that just killed Monica and saw Heather. She didn't even had a chance to aim her M4A1 at the person that just killed her friend as Heather fired her gun one more time hit her in the head. Alisha collapsed on the ground like a ton of bricks just a second later, with a bullet hole between her eyes, her body landing next to Monica's.
"Ty!" Heather called out for Tyreese right after ending Monica's and Alisha's life, "You okay?"
Tyreese got himself back on his feet and left his cover. He nodded, approaching Heather, "Yeah. Thanks. You saved me."
"We have to go." Heather said, "Follow me. Bridgette has Lizzie, Mika and Judith."
Tyreese nodded his head as Heather turned away from him and pushed herself into run towards the place where she last saw Bridgette, Lizzie, Mika and Judith. Tyreese followed her and the two of them quickly made their way to the place where Bridgette was waiting for them with Lizzie, Mika and Judith, keeping the children safe for any harm.
It was just a moment before Trevor arrived at the place and noticed his sister's lifeless corpse laying on the ground with a bullet hole in her forehead. He knelt down on his knees, feeling how tears of anger and despair started forming in his bastards from the prison have killed his sister. He clenched his fist, feeling how anger and desire for revenge was overcoming his body.
He picked up his weapon and got himself back on his feet. He wasn't crying anymore. His face was filled with rage. He made his way into one of the cellblocks, knowing that he will find someone from the prison hidding in there. Anyone in the prison who will be unlucky enough to come across him will die. He will make them pay for what they did to his sister.
Harold and Oscar made sure to stay hidden behind their cover as Wyatt was firing at them from his cover a few meters in front of them. The nerd and the former prisoner were ambushed by the beanie wearing man and some other guy a few moments ago when they were about to cut the line keeping the fence together, but unfortunely the sudden ambush prevented them from doing so. At least they didn't had to worry about Wyatt's friend anymore because he was taken care of by Harold.
Oscar gritted his teeth in pain when a bullet penetrated his arm. He dropped his shotgun on the ground, and placed his other hand on his bleeding arm, feeling how his blood was painting it, "Shit!"
Harold stopped firing at Wyatt and turned to look at Oscar, looking at the former prisoner in worry, "We need to patch this up!"
"Don't worry about it. It's nothing." Oscar shrugged it off. They had to get outta of here. The prison was already lost, no matter if they were going to win this fight or not. The fences were down and it was just a matter of minutes before the undead were going to invade this place. He took a quick peek out of their cover and saw that Wyatt was nowhere to be seen. He turned back to Harold, saying, "We need to get out..."
Oscar didn't had a chance to finish this sentence as his eyes snapped open when a bullet flied right through his skull. Harold's eyes snapped open as he had just witnessed Oscar's death as the former prisoners body collapsed right on top of him, pinning him against the ground. He looked over Oscar's shoulder and saw Wyatt heading his way. The nerd knew that he had to work fast. He got Oscar's body off of him as fast as he could and placed it aside.
He was about to reach for his holstered pistol, but stopped himself from doing so when Wyatt standing above him, aiming his AK47 right at his head. Harold glared at Wyatt, bracing himself for what about to happen to him, but much to his relief, his opponent never had a chance to fire his weapon at him because a shot rang behind the beanie wearing man and a single bullet penetrated his skull, killing him instantly.
Wyatt's AK47 fell out of his grasp and landed on the ground with a loud thud as the lifeless body of it's owner collapsed on the ground, landing between Oscar's lifeless corpse and Harold, unmoving and not a single breath living his lungs.
Harold let out a massive sigh of relief, realizing how lucky he was. He turned to the person that just saved his life and saw Leshawna standing in the distance, her hands were shaking as she had her smoking pistol aimed at the place where Wyatt used to stand just a few seconds ago. She wasn't alone. Trent, Maggie, Bob and Sasha were right behind her.
"Are you alright, sugar baby?" She asked Harold, her voice was so shaky, coming over to the nerd.
"Yes." Harold got himself back on his feet, making sure to pick up his shotgun, "Thank you. You saved my life."
"I just did what I had to do." Leshawna said, her voice becoming less shakier. She might have just taken someone else's life, which was something she never did before, but she knew that she did what had done to be because otherwise that beanie wearing asshole would kill Harold.
"Is anyone else with you?" Sasha asked Harold.
"I was with Oscar, but..." Harold paused and looked at Oscar's lifeless corpse, giving it a saddened look before pointing at the fence behind him, "We were about to open the exit in the fence, but then this guy and his friend ambushed us. I'm sure you know what happened next."
"We have to get outta of here." Trent let out a saddened sigh, knowing that there was no time to mourn Oscar, DJ or Hershel or anyone else that died in the Governor's and Jose's attack. All the musician could do now was hope that everyone else was going to make it out of this alive, "We need to find everyone that left in the bus."
Everyone agreed with him. Sasha, Maggie, Leshawna and Bob made their way to the fence, the former cutting the line keeping it together with her knife as Trent and Harold stayed behind and lifted up Oscar's body from the ground, wanting to give the former prisoner a proper burial once they'll get out of here. Sasha quickly cut the line and climbed through the hole in the fence, followed by Maggie, Leshawna, Bob. Harold and Trent climbed through the fence shorty after, making sure to move Oscar's body through it while doing so. The group of six started making their way towards the forest, leaving the prison behind them.
The Governor shoved Rick towards the rolled over bus. Rick tried to move out of his way but the Governor was faster than him. The one eyed man grabbed him by his shirt and pressed him against the bus. He punched Rick two times in the face before throwing the sheriff deputy on the ground. He got himself on top of him and started punching him in the face over and over again.
The Governor didn't stop punching Rick for the next few moments. He continued bringing his fist down on Rick's face until it became a bloody mess. He wrapped his hands around Rick's neck and started choking him. Rick weakly lifted his hand up and tried to push him off, but it was no use. Rick's vision was becoming more and more blurry as the Governor put more pressure on his neck.
It was when a sword went through the Governor's chest. The one eyed man gasped in pain as Michonne ripped her sword back out of him. The Governor fell to the side, gasping for air as Michonne went over to Rick and brought him back on his feet.
"Carl?" Rick asked her weakly as Michonne got him back on his feet, "Where's Carl?"
"I don't know." Michonne replied as Rick started making his way towards the destroyed gate, beginning his search for his son. She looked down at the Governor who was laying on the ground, bleeding out and gasping for air. She walked away from him. She decided to let him suffer. It was still much less than what this bastard deserved.
Unaware that the Governor just received a fatal wound from Michonne, Jose continued to make his way through the yard and it was when some unknown person shoved themselves at him, causing him to drop his M4A1 on the ground. That person pressed him against the wall and revelead themselves to be no other than his younger brother. Alejandro punched him in the face and was about to punch him again but Jose blocked his punch with his elbow and and pushed his younger brother away from him.
He rubbed the red mark on his cheek which was created by his brother, "What about the family rule, Al? Never in the face?"
"What happened to you?" Alejandro asked, glaring at his brother, "The Jose I knew was far away from perfect but he wasn't whatever you are right now."
"I've changed. I'm not afraid to do whatever it take to survive." Jose replied. He remembered the promise he made to his little brother the last time when he saw him in person. He was going to fight him and whatever was going to happen during their fight, happens, "You would understand this if you were with me and Carlos when it all started. You would understand that everything that I was doing for Woodbury was for the survival of me and the people who lived there!"
Alejandro remained silent as he shoved himself towards his brother with the obvious intention of punching him in the face. Jose moved out of the way and swung his clenched fist at his brother, hitting him in the back of his head. Alejandro stumbled to the side but regained his composure pretty quickly. Jose swung his fist at him again, with the obvious intention of punching him in the face but was lucky enough to dodge it.
The younger Burromuerto quickly reacted to the attack from his brother and swung his fist at Jose who time didn't had enough time to dodge it and got hit in the chest. The two brothers continued to exchange more punches between themselves for the next few moments, becoming more exchaused with every punch they send towards their opponent and feeling how their faces were becoming more bruised because of all the punches they received from their opponent.
Alejandro quickly got an idea of what he should do next when Jose started stumblings backwards after receiving a punch to the face from him. He quickly used this to his advantage and pulled out his tomahawk before swinging it at Jose. Jose's eyes widened a bit when he noticed jos brother taking out his weapon, knowing that he had to be more cautious from now on.
He barely managed to jump out of Alejandro's way. He took a few steps backwards and eyed his brother. He made sure to keep his eyes on Alejandro's tomahawk, wanting to know when his brother was going to swing his meele weapon again. Alejandro swung his tomahawk at his brother after a few seconds of waiting for the right moment, but unfortunely for him Jose managed to dodge it.
Alejandro kept swinging his tomahawk at Jose but unfortunely for him, even though he came close to hitting Jose a few times, his opponent managed to dodge each one of attacks. He gritted his teeth after another failed attack because Jose grabbed him by his wrist and disarmed him. His tomahawk fell on the ground as Jose tightened his grip around his wrist.
Jose swung his free fist right at his brother's face, hitting him, which was by another hit and another hit. He let go off his brother's wrist and punched him again, causing him to stumble backwards towards the wall behind him. He shoved himself at his brother and pressed him against the wall, pinning him down and making him unable to move.
"I had a good life in Woodbury before you and your friends showed up!" He yelled at his Alejandro as he punched his right in the face. His younger brothers face was becoming more bloody as he tried to free himself from his brother's grasp but it was no use, "I finally had a place to go after Carlos' died! A home!" He punched him again, "I finally didn't had to worry about a muerto killing me in my sleep!" And again, "But then you came out of nowhere and destroyed everything! "
He was about to punch Alejandro again but stopped himself from doing so when he heard someone moving towards him. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see Eva who was about to swing her hammer at him. He quickly jumped out of the way as Eva brought her hammer down, missing her target. HE grabbed her by her wrist and disarmed her. Eva heard how her hammer landed on the ground and quickly responded to it by swiging her free fist at Jose and punching him in the face.
"Geoff!" Eva cried out to Geoff. She and Geoff met up a few minutes ago but decided to split up to look for the people from their group, "Come here! Quickly!"
Alejandro slided down the wall, making sure to take a deep breath after getting punched in the face so many times as Eva moved towards his brother, looking like she was ready to kill him. She punched Jose, this time hitting him in the shoulder. Jose didn't waste his time and swung his fist at the jockness who easily dodged it. The two of them started exchanging punches with each other but unfortunely for Jose and fortunely for Eva this time was not going to last long.
Jose let out a painful groan as he was brought down to his knees, with his back facing Eva. He knew he had to do something otherwise she was going to kill him. She was stronger than him and he was already battered from his fight with Alejandro. It was when an idea of what he should do next popped into his mind. Good thing he always kept a knife hidden in his boot. It was always helping him in tough situations.
He quickly pulled his knife out of boot as Eva moved towards him. She grabbed him by his back and made him look at her, unaware that it was exactly what Jose wanted her to do. He quickly rose back to his feet and placed his knife through her neck. Eva gasped at the explosions of pain that went through her body as Jose moved his knife along her neck, cutting it open.
"A bit of an advice to you, senorita. Always keep a blade hidden in your boot, it becomes handy in the situations like this." Jose whispered into Eva's ear, knowing that it was going to be the last thing she ever heard. He pulled his knife out of Eva's neck and kicked her, making her fall on the ground.
The jockeness glared at her killer, her vision becoming more blurry with each passing second, still pressing her hands against her throat to prevent her blood from spilling out of her fresh wound. She wanted to attack Jose. She was so close to actually ending this bastard's life. She wanted to make him pay for everything he and his one eyed psychotic friend did, but she couldn't. For the first time in her life, she was too weak to do anything.
Her hands fell away from her bleeding throat as she closed her eyes and breathed no more. She was gone.
Jose turned his gaze towards Alejandro who shoved himself at him and made him drop his bloody knife on the ground. His younger brother tried to something at him but unfortunely for him he was unable to because he was already badly battered from his fight with his brother. He gasped for air as Jose wrapped his hands around him, choking him.
Alejandro could feel how everything was becoming more blurry and he was starting to lose hope that he'll survive this day but it was when something happened. Jose let out a long painful gasp a machete went right through his chest.
"This is for Eva." Geoff said to Jose, pulling his machete out of his stomach. Jose let out another gasp as he placed his hands on his fresh wound. It was right before Geoff grabbed him by his clothes and moved him to the side, away from Alejandro. He punched him straight in the face, knocking him to the ground. The party animal sheathed his machete and pulled out his pistol. He glared at the older Burromuerto and pulled the trigger, "This is for Courtney." His pistol fired and the bullet hit Jose in the knee. Jose clenched his teeth in pain before Geoff fired his pistol at him again, the bullet hitting another knee," And, this is for DJ."
Alejandro got himself back on his feet as Geoff aimed his pistol right at Jose's head, intending to finish him once and for all but he was stopped from doing so by Jose's brother who placed his hand on his shoulder. Alejandro has never seen Geoff act so cold before but he could understand why he acted this way. He was mad at Jose much more than he was.
"Leave him alone." He told him. He gestured to the undead which were coming out of the forest, led here by the noise caused by the fight, "He's not going anywhere."
"Yeah." Geoff nodded his head after taking a look at the walkers walking towards the prison, holstering his pistol. He turned to look at Eva's corpse and let out a sadddned sigh, feeling guilty for what happened to her. He could have saved her. If he only arrived here faster then Eva would still be alive. At least he had gotten to know her better over the past several months and for that he was grateful.
Alejandro stumbled over to his tomahawk and picked it up. He considered picking up his brother's M4A1 but ultimately decided to leave it be, now wishing that he didn't abondon his machine rifle after it ran out of the ammo. There was no way he was going to carry his brothers weapon with him, even if he would be left with his melee weapon only.
Geoff ignored the painful groans Jose let out as he walked over to Eva's hammer. He picked it up, intending to give it to Izzy, Ezekiel, Noah and Cody the next time he'll see them and walked over to Alejandro. He wrapped his arm around him, knowing that Alejandro might have some trouble with moving around after what just happened. The two of them walked away, leaving wounded Jose behind.
The tank just fired another missile which hit the catwalk, causing it to explode into pieces as Daryl was making his way towards the tank, firing his machine gun at the nearest walkers. When his weapon ran out of the ammo, he dropped in the ground and pulled out a grenade. He removed the pin and threw it down the cannon of the tank.
"Grenade!" Mitch shouted as he quickly climbed himself out of the tank.
He jumped off the tank and landed on the ground. The tank blew up from the inside as he got himself back on his feet. He looked up at the destroyed tank in front of him before shiting his gaze towards Daryl who had his crossbow aimed at him, with only one obvious intention in his mind. Mitch raised his hands in the air but Daryl didn't care about. He fired his crossbow and the arrow hit Mitch right in the heart, killing him.
Beth came running towards him shorty after, "I was trying to find the kids to get them on the bus."
"We got to go, Beth." Daryl told her as he and Beth pushed themselves into run and started running away from their destroyed home, "We got to go."
Ezekiel was making his way to the exit from the cellblock after failing to find other way out when he heard how someone stopped behind him. He placed his hand on his handgun and turned around. He saw Trevor. A boy who was about his age. Ezekiel grew more nervous when he noticed the way Trevor was looking at him now. He was staring at him with pure rage in his eyes.
"Wait." Ezekiel told him, "Just wait."
"Shut up." Trevor hissed, coming closer to Ezekiel.
"We don't need to fight." Ezekiel tried to reason with him, "We can all just go..."
"Go? You bastards killed my sister!" Trevor shouted in rage as he aimed his weapon at Ezekiel. The homeschool's eyes snapped open when he realized that he was not going to reason with him, "Brian and Jose were right about you! You're all killers! Monsters!"
Trevor opened fire at him as Ezekiel quickly ran into the nearest cell, taking cover there and saving himself from the bullets that were fired his way. Trevor had no idea that there was other person in the cellblock and that this person was just alarmed by his shoots. He moved towards the cell where Ezekiel hid from him, ready to use his weapon again at any moment.
Ezekiel's hands started to shake when he aimed his pistol at the exit from the cell, ready to use it on Trevor any moment. He wished he could avoid killing him but Trevor was clearly not going to reason with him. Trevor never made it to the cell, though because his attention was shifted to another person that appeared in his view.
That person was Duncan. The juvie entered the cellblock, holding his Colt Model 933 in ready as Trevor opened fire at him the moment he spotted him, quickly forgetting about Ezekiel. Duncan quickly returned fire at Trevor who quickly moved to the nearest cover which happened to be an empty cell. He and Duncan exchanged fire for a few more seconds before their guns ran out of the ammo.
Trevor shook his head when he realized that he just emptied his last magazine, realizing that taking out Duncan was going to be much harder. It was when he heard how Duncan started switching his empty magazine into a loaded one. Trevor nodded his head to himself, knowing that it was his best chance to rush out of his cell without getting shoot in the process.
He threw his gun on the floor and charged out of his cell towards Duncan who quickly forgot about reloading his Colt Model 933 when he spotted his opponent charging towards him. He was about to reach for his Smith & Wesson but never had a chance to do so as Trevor shoved himself at him and pressed him against the wall.
Duncan gritted his teeth in anger as Trevor pressed him against the wall. It was followed by the sound of something breaking into pieces. Duncan felt how the bow on his back, his bow that he was using since he started going out on hunting with Daryl and Izzy back in Atlanta broke into pieces. He glared at his opponent and quickly blocked the punch that was send his by Trevor. He quickly broke himself free from Trevor's grasp and pushed him away from him.
Trevor was about to rush at him again but was stopped by doing so by Ezekiel who fired his handgun at him and the pistol hit him straight in the head. Ezekiel watched with wide eyes how Trevor's lifeless corpse fell on the floor like a ton of bricks. Ezekiel let out a deep breath, not believing that he had just taken someone's else life.
"Thanks." Duncan thanked Ezekiel, grateful for the help, picking up his Colt Model 933 from the floor.
"I... I killed him." Ezekiel whispered to himself, feeling how tears were forming in his eyes. He killed someone. He actually took a life. Another person's a life. He shook his head and let out a deep breath to calm himself down. He might have just taken someone's else life but he had to it. Trevor was a danger to him and Duncan. He had to do it. He let out another deep breath and asked Duncan, "Are you with anyone else?"
"No." Duncan shook his head, "I went into this place to see if someone was hidding in here and heard the shoots. I came here right away."
Ezekiel gave him a nervous nod, still shaken by the fact that he had just killed someone, "...What do we do now?"
"We get outta of here, homeschool." Duncan replied, turning towards the exit from the cellblock. He pushed himself into run towards the exit from the cellblock and Ezekiel followed him, "We gotta go."
The Govenor was laying on the ground, panting and clenching his wound when he looked up and noticed someone approach him. His vision was blurry but he could easily say who it was. It was Lilly. She stopped in front of him and aimed her pistol right at his head. Her hand started shaking as she pulled the trigger. The bullet hit the Governor right in the brain, killing him off for good.
Jose was laying on the ground as he was unable to move because of Geoff who shoot him in his knees. He placed his hand on his wound and just stared up at the sky. it was when a group of the undead approached him. The walker in the front of the group got itself down on it's knees and grabbed Jose by his right hand before biting into it. Jose clenched his teeth in pain but didn't scream. He didn't let out a single scream when the walkers ganged up on him and tore him apart, feasting on his flesh.
"Carl!" Rick cried out for his son as he stumbled his way through the destroyed gate, "Carl!"
He started making his way through the yard, growing more and more worried as his son was nowhere to be found. He noticed two walkers walking towards him but they didn't even got close to him because someone took them out. Rick turned his gaze in the direction from which the shoots came from and saw his son. He started crying in relief that his son was alright as Carl ran over to him and gave him a hug.
"Judith." Rick mentioned his daughter after a moment, releasing Carl from the hug, "Where is she?"
Carl looked up at him, worried, "I don't know."
They started searching for her and it wasn't long before they found something that could led them to her. It was Judith's baby carried and it was covered in blood. Rick and Carl instantly understood what happened to her. Rick broke into sobs as Carl turned his gaze away from the baby carriage and spotted a single walker moving towards them.
He took a few steps towards the walker and started firing his shotgun at it, emptying his weapon completely. The walker fell on the ground like a ton of bricks, dead as Carl kept pulling the trigger even after the shotgun ran out of the rounds. Rick came over to his shotgun and told him to stop, that it was over. Carl dropped his now empty shotgun on the ground, crying.
He wrapped his arm around his dad, to help him move around as Rick wrapped his arm around him, making sure to pick up the shotgun that his son dropped with his free hand. They made their way out of the burning and destroyed prison and started walking up the hill which was leading to the forest.
"Don't look back, Carl." Rick whispered to his son as they reached the forest, "Just keep walking..."
Oh, boy, we said goodbye to a lot of characters in this chapter. DJ, Hershel, Cody, Eva, Oscar, the Governor, Jose, Wyatt...
Too Far Gone is and always will be one of my favourite episodes in the show. No one ended up winning this fight, the groups home was destroyed and the biggest casualty was an eldery man who wanted both groups to make peace.
Hope it wasn't that bad. See you in another chapter.
