Fireheart's sister thought she was safe when two random cats found her. When Princess woke up, the back of her head hurt from where the two Bloodclan cats struck the she-cat on the back of the head to knock Princess out. The two cats interrogated her to find out where the other clans were. When Firestar's sister was no longer of use to Scourge, she found herself in an abandoned structure with no visible windows or doors. Her hind paws were shackled to the floor by steel cuffs and chains and her front paws shackled higher to the wall with matching steel cuffs and chains. Firestar's sister struggled, her paws slipping on the damp flooring. Princess cried out for someone, anyone, to help free her. Noone came. Where was she? Her brother had never shown her a place like this. Was this one of the other clans he told her about? Was this…Bloodclan?!

Where am I? Why am I shackled? Who were they? I'm scared! Brother where are you? Save me!

Lukewarm water seeped through the cracked floor of the basement. The water was cool and refreshing once she got over the initial stab of panic. The water quickly rose up to Princess's ankles. Helplessness was not a feeling that she liked. She was Fireheart's sister, she whimpered. Her tail bristled as her bewilderment slowly morphed into hysteria.

The water lapped around her midsection before it rose again, as if it was seeping through cracks in the building. Princess teetered on the edge of panic and contentment. Not allowing Princess to catch her metaphorical breath. The rusty chains fixed her in place. Her chest tightened. What if the water did not stop until it touched the ceiling above her in the darkness?

Bubbles escaped from her nose. Her tears turned into waterlogged gargling. Her mouth filled with water as she could no longer keep her head above the waterline thanks to the chains. All of her helpless struggling had loosened the shackles and chains, thanks to the added pressure of the rising water and twisting her paws clockwise and anticlockwise. Her head spun from a lack of oxygen. She had been begging for mercy from the strange cats so much that she had not gotten a chance to hold a full breath.

…I am almost free…I…have…to…swim to…the surface…Can't…breathe…

Princess could feel her cheeks turning blue from a lack of oxygen. Water lapped around her ears. All she could hear was her own heart pounding. Her body lost its fight against the water. As the air bubbles from her nose and mouth slowed, her vision blurred and doubled beneath the water, her mind went completely blank. She stopped jerking her forepaws and hindpaws. The chains and shackles stopped rattling, sinking into a resting position. Her last thoughts were not of this basement, but of the faces of her brother and her friends in the clan. Princess's eyes drifted closed for the last time as she sank further from the surface, until she rested on the floor of the basement with her shackles and chains, finally loose enough that her paws slipped out. The drowning, once Princess's head was fully submerged, lasted for the longest eight minutes of her life.
