The sensation was like falling forever. Like being cut and prodded by something unseen. Like breaths forced.

Abruptly, the sensations came to halt. Cut off, by the feeling of the fall itself. Broken only by a bed of golden flowers, thick and intertwined.

Laying there in the bed of flowers, was a human child. With brown hair, and a green striped shirt. Face-down, twitching absently. The first semblances of thought forming, creating something. An analysis, of the situation, beginning with a pained whine. Articulating...well, pain generally.

A high fall is never something someone would imagine to be particularly comfortable. The human, having done precisely that, could attest to this process as being something unpleasant. Apparently survivable, somehow, yet still undesirable.

Taking a deep breath, she let out a few little sobs of pain. Her fingers twitched involuntarily, digging into the soil, before getting a grasp on it. Briefly fumbling, and falling back to the dirt, and flowers. Eyes, red, scanning them over.

The humans mind began to return beyond basic analysis, beyond the concept of pain gripping the body. A thought forming, running through it. Something profound. Something prophetic, perhaps. Unitary, dignified, and persevering.

"Hello, dirt...we meet again." She managed a crooked, pained smile.

Letting out a little laugh, despite how it hurt. The human proceeding to lie there, for about ten minutes. Suffering, in relative silence. At which point her breathing normalized, and she pulled herself to a sitting position. Wobbly, with awkward blinks, and confused glances. Everything felt heavy, her head swinging involuntarily as a sick sensation filled her stomach.

Blinking, looking around. Scanning the faded red walls of the place around her. The dark shadows that hung everywhere, save for the flowers. Illuminated, under a pillar of light. At a glance, everything felt somehow familiar, yet incredibly foreign.

"Thanks...flowers." She mumbled, picking one up. "I uh..."

Chara got a Flower.

She couldn't remember anything. And her head hurt something awful. Some blood dripped onto the flower, from a spot on her forehead that was bleeding. Pressing it, she stared briefly at her bloodied fingers. Processing, and then shaking off the confusion. She was...hurt? She couldn't really feel it.

She brought herself back to the situation at hand. "Where...am I?" She asked, carefully rising to her feet. "Hello?"

Nobody answered, as the child stumbled, catching herself. The presence of a warm breeze running across her face, finally registering. Coming from somewhere else, somewhere different. Following the source, with shaking steps, she found a doorway to...somewhere?

The next room was a dark place, save for a bit of illumination coming from the center of it. Falling in from some crack, unseen and high up. Blood dripping as she stepped, her focus falling on what lay in the center of the room. A lone, golden flower, with a few damaged petals.

It was similar to the one in her hand, minus the blood she had dripped onto it from her injuries. The little drips slipping from her, echoing around to create some of the only noise in this place. Blinking, Chara felt confused, she noticed the flower seem to shift some.

The motion inspiring curiosity. Attempts to think about the sight were hindered some. Was it normal behavior for a flower to move? Her memories hard to grasp, her mind fuzzy.

"Hello?" She managed, tasting blood on her lip.

As soon as her words echoed into this space, the flower appeared to tense. She got closer, her steps heavy, and disorganized, managing to crush a stick beneath her foot. The cracking sound, prompting the flower to turn, and let out a concerning roar. The front of it bearing a twisted, demonic face, with large fangs

"You think you can sneak up on me?" The flower growled, before seeming surprised. "W-wait-"

The human was now positive that this wasn't a normal occurrence. What was left of her overall functions pounding at the presence of perceived danger. Wondering what she was meant to do, heart pounding, only making her feel more lightheaded.

"W-what...a-are you?" Chara asked in alarm.

"Chara?" The Flower asked, the face distorting. Twisting into a beaten, worn-down expression.

That was her name, wasn't it? Yes, she could barely remember it, but it as. How did it know?

"H-how did you know that?" She demanded, staggering some.

"How in the, how...you can't be...C-Chara?" The Flower looking perplexed. "Are you real?" He asked in utter disbelief. "Wait, you're bleeding-"

Her heart was pounding at a rate that was causing her incredible distress. She could process this. She couldn't handle it. Not right now. It was...everything was so hard to think about. She searched her mind for information, but nothing was coming to her.

Only a few actions came to mind, one winning out among the rest. "S-Stay away from me!" She pleaded, fleeing past it. "I-I'm sorry!"

"W-Wait!" The Flower exclaimed in surprise. "You can't go that way, she's-"

Chara didn't hear what the flower was saying. The pounding of her heart was heavy in her ears. And with each blood drop left, as she ran, it became just a little harder to do so. The flower letting out a panicked noise as she left, diving into the soil, vanishing.

Tap, tap, tap went her worn out shoes. Furiously running to some unknown destination. Entering a room with twin staircases, rising to some sort of raised floor, and a door. Much like before, the walls were still an off, faded red color. Only it was darker, here.

She passed a few burnt out torches, with one still active by the door at the top. Providing the only real illumination the area had. And what some part of her anticipated, was the way out.

Hurrying up them, she slipped on some of her blood. Foot sliding on the last step, resulting in her slamming hard against the ground. Whimpering under her breath, while trying to get back up. There was a sound, like stone shifting, prompting her to glance back. Noticing the flower pushing out from beneath one.

"Whoa, Chara, hang on-" He tried to say. "Listen, it's dangerous in the-"

"S-stay back!" She demanded, getting back up, darting through the door.

This effort, however, came to a grinding halt, as soon as she attempted it. Her feet sliding to a halt, as she registered someone having just stepped into the doorway. Someone considerably taller than she was, with ears like a cow, or a goat...she wasn't sure.

The thought only lasting a moment, as the eyes, shaded and crimson came to stare down at her. The face of this person concealed in the shadows beneath their hood. This stranger wearing robes, layered, bearing a symbol that felt...familiar somehow.

Chara didn't know how to respond to this presence. She didn't know what to do now. Did she turn back? Did she try and slip past? It was all so fuzzy, and hard to think.

The person before her had an overtly hostile expression, shifting stance, with their mouth moving like they sought to say...something, but were failing to.

"H-Hello..." She greeted quietly. "I..I'm-"

"So...once more you taunt me with Chara?" The voice echoed in some part of her mind.

"T-taunt?" Chara replied hesitantly.

It was...so familiar. Somewhere...something, just out of reach. She knew this person...somehow?

The woman scanned her with her one good eye. "You..."

"I...do I...know you?" Chara noticed the confusion turn to anger. "O-oh uhm, I-I'm sorry?"

The woman's expression became one of hurt, and rage, fire seeming to burn at her feet. "D-do you think this is funny?"

"D-do I think, w-what?" The girl glanced, backing away. "I don't know what-"

"You all think this is amusing, to keep taunting me like this!?" The woman demanded, her voice shaking, her lips curled into a mad grin, fire enveloping her hands. "I...am not...amused."

The world flashed, growing darker. A sensation pulled the breath from the girls' lungs. The outline of a heart, dim, dark, but glowing purple floating before her. She didn't feel...afraid...but knew she should be. Her mind projecting broken, shaking boxes. Potential actions, for what to do.

Chara tried to Plead.

"I wasn't trying anything, I-I promise!" She pleaded. - The woman looked through her.

"..." The woman said nothing.

A wave of dancing flames manifested, burning around them. Crawling around the walls and blazing across the floor. Suddenly rushing in at the girl. She stumbled, trying to dodge them. Managing to get hit by several, causing pain to surge through her already pained body. She let out a cry of pain, and stumbled, away from another, as the flames stopped.

"You...that...isn't...you can't...be?" The woman blinking, confused, with a look of sinking realization.

Chara Ran Away.

Chara didn't wait to hear out whatever it was that was going to be said. It didn't matter. Fear had overtaken whatever she had left in mental faculties. Her arm was burning now, and tears rolled from her eyes. Quickly turning black like ink, as she ran.

She hurried through the next room, hearing cries from behind her. Everything hurt so badly. She didn't understand where she was, running across small bridges. She didn't get why they attacked her? Drawing near the open exit. What did she do wrong, why couldn't she remember anything?

A sound like a snikt filled the air. Steel glistened under her feet, as she stepped on something. There wasn't even a moment to properly process, before the sensation hit her. The pain was sharp, immediate. Red filled her vision, ran across her skin. It only lasted a moment, a muffled cry being the last thing she heard. Everything went dark.
