The walk back through the ruins was much easier when they knew what they were doing. They went over the room with the cracks without serious issue. Knowing well what to do, to overcome it.
A little vault from Flowey. And some praise from Chara for him doing well. The duo heading forth, coming to the room with the first rock. Motioning, he moved off her arm this time, following the thought they'd had previously. Heading to hold it in place, as she hurried across. Before burrowing his way over to her. Her arm extending, as he was lifted back up, and around her arm.
The duo arrived in the room with the Moldsmal. Their eyes wandering over to it upon entry. With no Froggit to interrupt them, it was still very much asleep.
"See. Safer without the Froggit." Chara whispered.
"Not disagreeing." Flowey muttered back.
The girl briefly pondered about the Moldsmals attack. It was pretty strong, and a part of her was compelled to see if she could sieze it. However, that aspect was resisted, and she moved on. Following the pattern from before, getting the duo out of the room with no issues. Looking a little proud of herself in the process.
Entering the room with three rocks, she watched Floweys expression turn annoyed by default. Tilting her head, smiling some at the anticipated showdown. Pondering some while stopping before the trinity.
"Flowey, you look like you've been rocked, by something?" Chara joked; he didn't respond. "No need to stonewall me. I'm crumbling for an answer. C'mon just a pebble?"
He rolled his eyes. "Ughhhhh, the worst sense of humor."
"Na, I'm rockin it." She retorted, his following groan loud and annoyed. "Hey, maybe this time, trying being coal about it, yeah?"
"Staaaaaaahhhhhhhhhppppp!" Flowey loudly demanded, in a long whine.
Chara laughed hard as he swung his head around in protest. Looking frustrated beyond reason. The flower eventually letting out a breath of defeat, her laugh falling into a soft snicker. The rocks before them, unresponsive for...a moment. And then...
The stubborn rock said. "Not to quarry, I appreciate your humor."
The duo blinked, Flowey whispering. "No..."
Chara replied. "Ya know, I read about rocks in the neatest pebble-cation."
The Rock replied. "Was it...power to the Pebble?"
"Maybe. Hard to remember...but it's a hard rock life, for us." Chara snickered.
"These puns remind me of when I visited a volcano. They really magma day." The Rock responded.
Flowey let out a whining noise. "S-stop, no more puns, please."
"Whoa, buddy, sounds like you've had a rough day." The Rock began. "Wanna chalk about it?"
Chara grinned a devilish grin. "C'mon Flowey. You can tell us. We won't take it for granite."
Flowey huffed. "I hate you both."
The duo laughed a bit. The Rock shifting and shuffling some as it did so. Chara covering her mouth, to try and no be too loud with her laughter.
The Rock sighed contently. "That was fun. I haven't had a good laugh in years."
Chara responded. "It was an honor to pun with you."
"Of course. Hmm, oh, were you kids trying to pass through the trap there?" The rock asked.
"Yeah, actually. Uhm, we were gonna see if you could-" She began.
"Say no more. You both have a gneiss day. And stay save." The Rock replied, sliding over onto the slot.
She beamed. "Thank you . You have a gneiss day two."
The two chuckled, ad Flowey glowered. The other two rocks, both non-sentient moved quite easily. And the spikes were cleared for them to move ahead. Chara doing so, giving a final wave to the rock, before moving on some.
"Who'd'a though, he just needed a good laugh to calm down." Chara hummed thoughtfully.
"That was torturous." Flowey remarked.
"Oh it wasn't so bad. At least you guys didn't argue this time." She replied.
The Flower grumbled out a. "Yeah...guess so."
Entering into the room, she glanced around. Still no purple glow. How infrequent were these odd save points? She noticed Flowey looking over at one she couldn't see. The two noting their respective inability to see the others. Well, their combined inability to see hers, and her inability to see his anyways. The duo taking a well-earned break for a moment. In the room with the table.
Chara noted that although the day had felt extremely long thus far. With many twists and turns, she'd only really been up and about for a couple hours at the most. She wondered if heroes delving into terrifying dungeons had to deal with this kind of thing when they were slaying angels, and demons? Then again, she recalled entire movies being set over the course of like, a few hours that seemed much much longer. Add to that, she'd sort of died twice. And that was definitely a setback she didn't wish to repeat.
She materialized a butterfly, looking it over. The Flower gave a look. Like he wanted to ask something. The girl glancing.
"So, the thing in the room killed us, right?" He asked.
"Yup." She replied.
"Well, we're less damaged than before." He noted, adding. "With 5 candies. And, I guess...a little bit more power, so..."
Chara smiled some. "We'll be okay."
"So, what are we fighting exactly?" He inquired.
"Ghost." She replied simply.
Flowey began to feel her usual heartrate slow some. Her more neutral smile growing. Becoming that stable, uncanny, and discomforting one. Every four seconds, the heartbeat could be felt.
Flowey asked. "Chara...I know you're probably mad at this person. And, that's fair. But, even if the world is kill or be killed-"
"We should try to show some mercy." She said, finishing his thought. "I know. I'll try."
He felt like she was lying to him. However, she hadn't gone after any of the other monsters since. His thoughts turning to her new magic. The only way to hurt a ghost, was that. He didn't think that was coincidental.
