Chapter 4: Invasion & Jar Jar Binks
Meanwhile, the Trade Federation had just sent their invasion army on C-9979 Landing Crafts with Vulture Droid escorts to the planet surface. The landing crafts all landed in separate sections of the forest area. Once they landed, they released their invasion army in Multi Troop Transports, Armored Assault Tanks and Ariel Platforms. Gunray and Haako contacted the droid captain just as the MTTs started entering the forest. "Yes, Viceroy?" The captain asked. "Captain, we've searched the ship, and there is no trace of the Jedi. They may have gotten on one of your landing craft." Haako said. "If they're down here, sir, we'll find them." The captain assured. "Use caution. These Jedi are not to be underestimated." Gunray said as the transmission ended.
As the MTTs entered the forest, all of the wildlife was all scattering in fear. Qui-Gon was running with them. Just then, an alien called a Gungan, named Jar Jar Binks, got caught in the middle of the chaos. "Oh no!" He cried. "Get away! Get out of here!" Qui-Gon exclaimed. But as he ran up to Jar Jar, he just jumped into his arms. "Get down!" Qui-Gon shoved him down as the MTT drove right over them. As the MTTs drove off, Qui-Gon got off Jar Jar, allowing him to leap back onto his feet. "Was'n dat?" Jar Jar asked as Qui-Gon walked off. "Hey, wait!" He called as he hurried after the Jedi.
"Oh, mooie-mooie! I love you!" Jar Jar exclaimed happily as he and Qui-Gon walked further into the forest. "You almost got us killed. Are you brainless?" Qui-Gon asked. "I spake." Jar Jar said. "The ability to speak does not make you intelligent. Now get out of here." Qui-Gon said. "No, no, mesa stay. Mesa culled Jar Jar Binks. Mesa your humble servant." Jar Jar said. "That won't be necessary." Qui-Gon said. "Oh, but it 'tis. 'Tis demanded by the gods, it 'tis." Jar Jar said. Suddenly, laser blasts were being fired. Obi-Wan was being chased by a battle droid on an Ariel Platform. "Oh no!" Jar Jar cried. "Stay down!" Qui-Gon exclaimed. Jar Jar ducked for cover as Qui-Gon ignited his lightsaber and deflected the laser blasts, destroying the droid. But then a second droid flew in and began blasting. But Qui-Gon deflected the blast and destroyed the second droid, sending it crashing nearby. "You saved my again." Jar Jar said as he got back up. "What's this?" Obi-Wan asked. "A local. Let's get out of here before more droids show up." Qui-Gon said before he and Obi-Wan took off. "More? More did you spake?" Jar Jar asked before hurrying after them.
"Ex-squeeze me, but de mostest safest place would be Gunga City. Is where I grew up. 'Tis a hidden city." Jar Jar said as he caught up with the Jedi, catching their attention. "A city?" Qui-Gon asked. "Uh-huh." Jar Jar said. "Can you take us there?" Qui-Gon asked. "Uh, on second thought, no. Not really, no, no." Jar Jar said. "No?" Qui-Gon asked. "'Tis embarrassing, but, uh, my afraid my've been banished. My forgotten. Da bosses would do terrible tings to me. Terrible tings to me if me goen back dare." Jar Jar explained. Suddenly, there was a rumbling sound in the distance. "You hear that?" Qui-Gon asked. "Yah." Jar Jar said. "That is the sound of a thousand terrible things heading this way." Qui-Gon said. "If they find us, they will crush us, grind us into tiny pieces and blast us into oblivion." Obi-Wan said. Jar Jar put all this to thought. "Oh. Yousa point is well seen. This way. Hurry!" He said, leading the way.
