Hey everyone! I know, I know I am such a bad person for not updating for so long. I don't really have an excuse I just lost interest... but I found it again so here is a short chapter to start off. Don't get your hopes up to high it will probably still be sporadic, but at least I am writing again.
On to the story-
The week went by quickly with Naruto working on his new ability and Sakura and Sasuke mastering tree walking.
It was Naruto's turn to guard the house while Sasuke and Sakura were at the Bridge with Kakashi.
Naruto sat on top of the house in boredom, letting his leg swing back and forth. 'Man this sucks. Nothing ever happ…'
Naruto sensed a chakra signature approaching the house and grinned, "Finally."
The ninja that had been sent was a seasoned Chunin. He stopped and hid himself so he could scout out the house to make sure the Jonin was not there. Looking around he only found a small kid on top of the house. 'Probably a Genin.'
The ninja's heart felt like it dropped into his stomach when the child got up and turned to look directly at him.
He instantly retreated but found that he was surrounded on all sides by clones.
"What are you up to?" Naruto smiled evilly.
The Chunin jumped away trying to put some distance between him and the blond ninja he had clearly underestimated.
Right when he landed Naruto's hands came up through the earth and grabbed his feet pulling him down so that only his neck was visible.
Naruto walk slowly from behind a tree twirling a kunai on his pointer finger. "Mind telling me what you are doing here?"
The Chunin stared blankly at him "You have to know that a ninja never spills information."
Nartuo raised an eyebrow and channeled some of Kurama's chakra into one of his fingers.
As Naruto walked forward slowly the Chunin tried to retreat but he was stuck and too scared to think logically.
Naruto pressed his finger on the top of his left shoulder and the man let out a horrifying scream.
Naruto removed his finger after a few moments and the Chunin started to gasp uncontrollably.
"Do you feel like telling me now?"
Naruto felt respect for the man when he simply glared at up at Naruto and kept silent.
"You are a brave man. I'll give you that much." Naruto's clone that was right behind the man took his Kunai and severed his head with a swipe of his wind chakra blade.
Naruto sank the rest of the body into the ground and left the house for the bridge. He left some clones behind just in case someone else came to the house.
Naruto stealthily made his way to the bridge and saw the whole thing covered in a thick mist. Naruto approached warily and came upon Sasuke trapped in a dome of mirrors.
Naruto immediately analyzed the situation like Jiraiya-senei had taught him. He noticed that the Sasuke had managed to activate his sharingan and looked more like a pin cushion than the annoying emo he usually was.
Naruto decided to stroll up to the fight not trying to hide, but instead draw attention to himself. Both Sasuke and the fake hunter-nin looked at him as he approached. Naruto thought for a moment he saw relief in the Uchiha's eyes but it was hard to tell with the sharingan active.
Naruto cleared his throat, "Hey Sasuke, want to tap out?"
Sasuke clenched his fist but sighed and nodded. He could barely stand and the sharingan was constantly draining his chakra and he would be out very soon.
Naruto chuckled, "I'm proud of you. You made the right decision."
The hunter-nin watched with curiosity as Naruto calmly walked forward and suddenly disappeared. He looked around wildly for the blond and spotted him at the far side of the mirrors with Sasuke in hand.
'Fast' was all the hunter-nin had time to think before Naruto and sasuke were at the edge of the mirrors.
Naruto set Sasuke down outside the mirrors and calmly walked back to the middle.
"Hunter-nin-san, did you know that there is a weakness to every jutsu?"
The hunter-nin didn't wait for the explaination and jumped out of his mirrors and threw a ridiculous amount of senbon at the boy.
Naruto used his godfather's favorite move and shielded himself with his hair laced with chakra.
Naruto continued as if nothing had happened, "The weakness of this jutsu is that once you cast it you don't seem to be able to move it."
Naruto sank into the floor of the bridge and popped up outside the dome and crossed his arms to wait and see what the hunter-nin would do.
The hunter-nin stared at him for a few seconds and then cancelled the jutsu. He got down on his knees calmly looked up at Naruto, "I am out of chakra and can no longer do my job for Zabuza. Please kill me."
Naruto rushed at him and the hunter-nin closed their eyes and waited for the end. Only after a few moments did he realize that Naruto had taken off her mask and was smiling.
"Nah, I don't feel like it. Besides I saw you helping the homeless out in town when I was scouting. There is no reason to kill you. What is your name?" Naruto asked as he twirled the mask on one of his fingers.
"My name is Haku. Please kill me; I am no longer a useful tool for Zabuza-sama."
Naruto rolled his eyes, "Well why don't you just wait until this is all over before you decide to die.
Just as Naruto finished speaking the mist seemed to clear and the sound of thousands of chirping birds filled the air.
Naruto paled and spun around to see Kakashi about to finish off Zabuza. Naruto instantly deactivated his gravity seals with a flare of chakra and took off so fast the ground cracked.
Haku jumped back in surprise and then followed the sound and saw Zabuza about to die and a single tear fell from her eye because she knew she couldn't do anything about it.
Kakashi was about to put his chidori through the missing-nin's chest when he was hit by a small human being at full force. His chidori still managed to hit Zabuza's shoulder but he lost his concentration and it was a lot less powerful than it could have been.
Kakashi quickly recovered and faced his attacker and his visible eye widened and then narrowed, "What are you doing Naruto!?"
Naruto looked at Kakashi and made a few of the black ops hand signs for top secret.
Kakashi sighed, "Nothing is ever just straight forward with you, is it?"
Naruto smiled at him, "Nope."
Kakashi smacked his head on the ground and muttered, "evil, stupid, shitty, paper work."
Zabuza recovered from the slight shock and stood to face the two ninja. He looked at the young blond kid in front of him rubbing Kakashi's back as Kakashi sobbed. His arms hanging by his side uselessly otherwise he would have killed them both right there.
Naruto turned to Zabuza and mock saluted, "Yo, what's up Zabuza?"
Zabuza glared at the kid in front of him, "Don't underestimate me just because I can't use my arms.
Naruto held up his hands in surrender, "Look man I'm pretty sure we are about to become your allies here in a minute so be nice."
Zabuza growled but was interrupted as he heard a soft *thunk* and a young girl cry out in pain.
Haku fell to her knees with a cross bow bolt sticking out of her back. With a look toward the direction it came from every ninja realized that there was a huge mass of people getting ready to fire countless arrows at them. Zabuza ran toward Haku trying to get there before the arrows hit. Naruto was hot on his tail holding the tiger seal and trying to focus.
The arrows decended on the group as Kakashi put an earth wall up for Sakura and Tuzuna and dodged the rest with his sharingan. Sasuke used the great fireball no-jutsu and blocked all that were coming towards him.
Zabuza dove on top of Haku ready to die protecting her. Naruto slid on his knees to their side as he spit fire from his mouth and created a shield using Kurama's chakra to control the fire.
The arrows bounced off the fire shield that Naruto had hastily constructed and he let it disperse.
Zabuza realizing he was still alive opened his eyes and turned to where he saw Gato and a huge group of mercenaries standing.
Zabuza let out a roar that was more befitting of a demon than a human. "Brat I require a kunai."
Naruto smiled, "give them hell." With that he tossed a kunai in the air in front of Zabuza.
Zabuza timed the rotation and took off catching the kunai in his mouth full of sharp teeth. He arrived at the group of mercenaries and started to gouge anyone who was in range slowly but surely making his way to the back where Gato was running away from the battle.
The mercenaries started to regain their senses and tried to lash out with their own weapons meeting with varying success. By the time Zabuza got to Gato half of the small army of men was either dead or dying.
Gato backed up as Zabuza got in front of him. "Wait I'll pay you triple and I'll reimburse you for that young girl you liked to have around."
Zabuza's face darkened at the mention of Haku. Gato was shaking uncontrollably at what he saw.
Zabuza was radiating killing intent like it was his job and was standing there with several weapons still lodged in his body and bleeding from almost everywhere else on his body, not to mention his arms that hung from his body uselessly. This was all topped off with a bloody kunai in his mouth and a glare that could free over hell.
Gato shit himself right there.
Zabuza didn't wait another second and plunged the kunai into Gato's throat and let go of it. Gato fell back struggling to breath and grasped the kunai imbedded in his neck. He died on the ground in the middle of the forest.
Zabuza started stumbling back to where Haku was. Naruto, Kakashi, and Sasuke had just finished killing the other mercenaries and saw Zabuza stumbling toward the bridge.
Naruto cringed, 'how is he even walking?'
Naruto ran over to him and immediately took out the weapons that were still sticking out of him and laid him on the ground.
Naruto looked apologetically at Zabuza before he channeled a substantial amount of Kurama's chakra into his hands, "I do not envy the pain you are about to go through, but you will survive. Focus on Haku." With that he slapped the hand full of Kurama's chakra on Zabuzas chest and watched him convulse.
Naruto watched as Zabuza's body processes started to speed up. In a few moments his hair grew long, his fingernails and toenails grew a few inches and he soiled himself.
After it was done. Zabuza drew in a sharp breath and stared at the sky tring to figure out where he was. Naruto on the other hand was breathing raggedly and clutching his hand in pain.
Kakashi rushed over to Naruto and half yelled half asked, "What happened!?"
Naruto gave a grim smile, "Keep Zabuza and Haku safe. I'll explain…when I… wake…u"
Kakshi sighed, 'This stupid kid is going to be nothing but paper work.'
