Door
He chased him through space, through the falling droplets of days that spilled into the puddle of weeks forming the lake of years.
And he pursued him, like a shadow hoping to catch up to him, as the sun rose after the moon, and spring showers sprinkled after winter squalls.
Suddenly, spontaneously, he felt the distance between them slowly crumble away into petal-like pieces when strings of friendship draw them in.
The youth had managed to step to his pace now, walking beside him, lining his right arm to his left. The two took time to admire the same horizon the golden sphere of light disappeared under everyday.
Now, there was no more of the Unreachable that he had abused his stamina for and used the last remaining drop of will to chase after, no more trailing behind his heels.
Instead, he halted before an opened door. Waves of uncertainty washed against his feet, preventing further venturing.
He knew where it led.
Hesitation delayed his decision-making.
" Can you not see the door standing ajar, Oishi?"
" …"
" Come. Do not let fear for the unknown restrain you from doing so."
" But, Tezuka. Are you sure I am allowed on such private grounds? Have you not mistaken?"
" I know exactly what I am doing."
" Then it shall be." The emerald-eyed lad placed a hand into the other's open palm. He pulled him in.
He stumbled a bit at first, then toppled over as winds rushed past his side when he fell…deeper, deeper, deeper, and deeper yet.
" I won't be able to climb out so easily." He realized.
" Then don't climb out." He replied, caging his figure within the prison of his arms. "Don't ever climb out."
