Hey everyone! I'm back... for a little while. I'm going to try to write as much as I can before I leave again, but no promises. Anyway, why am I talking when there is another chapter down there.

Chapter 9

The gigantic man sneered, "Follow me if you want to participate this year."

Everyone looked at him with wide eyes without saying anything.

"Well?! Are you going to lead us somewhere?! I'm getting bored!" Naruto yelled.

The man looked at him, "I can do whatever I want I am..."

Naruto stopped listening and instead started talk to the closest person to him which just happened to be Sasuke.

"Can you believe this guy?" Naruto said pointing at the man.

"Naruto?"

Naruto started using a mocking high girl voice, "I'm so important. Look at my muscles and be amazed."

"Naruto! Shut up!" Sasuke glared at him. "I don't care how right you are, there's no reason to piss off everyone you ever meet."

Naruto looked at him skeptically, "Are you sure?"

Sasuke kept glaring and stayed silent.

"Fine." Naruto turned to the man who was visibly holding himself back from attacking him. Naruto took an exaggerated bow, "Lead the way."

The man reigned in his emotions and without warning jumped out the window and disappeared. The churning hopefuls scrambled to get out the window in order to follow him.

Sakura turned to Naruto, "You are tailing him right?"

Naruto looked offended, "What do you take me for?"

Sakura inhaled deeply to list everything. Naruto put a finger on her mouth before she could start, "Actually I don't want to hear too many good things at one time so just one please."

Sakura mirrored Sasuke's glare, "Bakka."

Naruto gasped, "Hurtful."

Naruto stretched, "So? You guys ready to go to the testing building?"

Sasuke and Sakura nodded.

"Sakura would you be a dear and get the door for us?"

Sakura grinned and pulled on a glove over her right hand. She ran at the nearest wall, "Shannaroo!" The wall exploded outwards from the force creating a giant hole.

All of the genins who were still trying to struggle thought the window looked over to see the backs of the three other genins jumping out of the building.

Sakura and Sasuke followed Naruto to and underground room that had desks in it.

"Wait we are the only ones here?" Naruto said questioningly.

"Not the only ones" Garaa appeared right behind them in a sand shunshin.

Naruto brushed himself off. "Dude I'm serious, you have to find a cleaner way to shunshin."

Garaa looked at him straight faced, "I like to piss off everyone I meet."

Naruto turned to Sasuke, "See?! He gets it!"

Sasuke pinched the bridge of his nose and turned to Garaa, "Please don't encourage him. We are lucky enough that he hasn't started a war yet."

Naruto raised an eyebrow, "I haven't? Dang gotta add that one to the list."

Both Sakura and Sasuke got a dark aura around them, "Don't you dare add that to the list."

Naruto pouted, "fine"

The procter cleared his throat, "If you are all done talking, the rest of the class has already taken their seat."

Naruto looked around, "Wow, I must have not been paying attention."

The procter explained the test and the rules (same as original). Sasuke found the planted chunin and used his sharingan to copy their movements.

Sakura just finished the test by herself.

Naruto started to panic, 'Crap i have no jutsu's for this.' He looked back at Sasuke who seemed to be waiting for him to look his direction. Sasuke used a genjutsu to force Naruto to write the answers to the test.

Naruto almost broke the genjutsu on instinct before he realized that he was writing answers that he didn't originally know.

Sasuke smirked, 'He is going to owe me for this one.'

Once the test was done the Procter gave the last question (Same as original some leave and some don't. No Naruto speech though.)

After everyone left the Procter declared everyone who stayed as passing the first part of the exams.

The second Procter came through the door. He looked super unimpressed at how many had gotten through the first round.

"Come with me."

Everyone got up ready to sprint incase this Procter decided to take off like the last one. Instead this Procter took his time and escorted everyone down into a catacomb.

"Each team gets to choose a tunnel to enter into, there are three ways out of this maze. Navigating the maze is not part of the challenge though. Each team has to collect the stinger of a giant wasp that lives in these catacombs. We trapped enough wasps in these tunnels for half of you to get one. You must present a stinger in order to pass. There are no rules down here, nothing to keep you safe. If you aren't ready then turn back now." He said in a monotone.

Naruto glanced at the man, "you are so exciting I'm sure you're the life of the party no matter where you go."

The man drew a sword and in the blink of an eye swung it toward Naruto who sat down on the ground so the blade passed right over his head.

Naruto tilted his head, "What's got you so worked up?"

The man grew a tick mark, "I chased you around all night last night!"

Naruto smiled, "come on it was a good joke though right?"

The man grumbled something about sleep then remembered he was supposed to Procter. "Everyone choose a tunnel and get out of my hair.

Everyone choose a tunnel and dashed into the maze when the bell went off.

Naruto turned to Sakura, "you have the best donton ability here, you are on point."

Sakura nodded and took the lead with Sasuke and Naruto flanking her. They sped through the tunnels until they came to what looked like the exit.

Sakura stopped, "ok, here is our exit. Sasuke I want your sharingan on while we find the wasp. You will lead us back to this point."

Sasuke nodded.

Sakura turned to Naruto, "You are the luckiest one here which direction should we go?"

Naruto pointed to a random tunnel and they took off. Not a minute later they ran into a group of 3 wasps.

Naruto raised his eyebrows, "Those are some big wasps."

Sakura took a step backwards, "Ok, time to go get them. Naruto, Sasuke do your thing."

They both looked at here questioningly.

Sakura blushed, "I'm not a huge fan of bugs."

Naruto grinned, "Way to further the stereo type"

Sasuke gave a small smile before drawing his sword and stepping out into the lightly lit cavern.

Naruto pulled out his wind trench knives.

Sakura got a shiver down her spine, "And no going overboard. We are still underground!"

Sasuke and Naruto visibly deflated, "Fine" they said in unison.

The wasps seemed to notice them and flew towards them. Naruto waited until they got a little closer, then jumped above the wasps. He spun while channeling chakra into his trench knives. His wind blades sliced two of the wasps to pieces. Sasuke raised his sword at the other and shot a beam of electricity at it which stopped it in its tracks. The lighting then splintered out and cut the wasp to pieces. Naruto landed and caught the two spinning stingers he had cut off of the wasps. Sasuke retracted his lighting bringing an impaled stinger with it.

Naruto looked at Sasuke, "Mine was cooler."

Sasuke rolled his eyes.

They headed back to the exit they had found only to find familiar faces barring their way.

Garaa and his siblings were standing at the exit. Garaa had his arms crossed with a stern look on his face.

"The usual Naruto."

Naruto rolled his eyes, "look I know you are supposed to be overly protective of your sister, but when you challenge me to a fight every time we see each other it gets annoying."

Garaa raised his hands slightly and the sand beneath him shifted, "I will always want to know if you are able to protect my sister."

Naruto sighed, "You realize that just like always I'm not going to hold back much so you get the point."

Garaa gave a small smile, "We are in my element. I have the advantage here."

Naruto snapped out of his care free mode and an oppressing aura surrounded him. Sasuke and Sakura jumped back out of the way.

Sasuke stuck his feet to the ground with chakra, 'This side of Naruto is so difficult to deal with.'

Sakura cringed, 'not again.'

Naruto smiled with anticipation. A pebble fell from the ceiling seemingly in slow motion. As it neared the ground both fighters prepared themselves for the upcoming fight.

The pebble landed.

Naruto drew his lighting chakra trench knives while channeling lighting chakra. He instantly stabbed them into the ground where the sand was starting to rise up around him. The discharge of lighting left some of the sand as glass and the rest fell down because of the lack of control.

Garaa scowled, 'I can't control the sand that he infuses with lighting chakra, but there's plenty more where that came from.'

Naruto disappeared in a burst of speed. Garaa widened his eyes when he felt his automatic sand shield being torn apart by lighting chakra. Garaa instantly sank into the sand as fast as he could, dodging the trench knife by a fraction of an inch. Naruto reappeared where he had left from, still smiling at Garaa. Garaa growled and thrust his hands out towards Naruto. Several streams of sand rushed towards Naruto at a faster pace. Naruto again disappeared, but this time Garaa was ready. Garaa pulled up the sand from all around him in a ten foot radius and caught the legs of Naruto. Naruto looked down at his feet where sand was starting to crawl up his legs.

Garaa walk over to him slowly, "This is why I always test you. I don't want to know their capabilities." Garaa came to a stop right in front of Naruto, "What do you have to say for yourself?"

Naruto was almost all the way incased in sand but leaned forward pulling himself partially out of it and smiled, "Boom."

A huge explosion shook the entire cave and threw Garaa straight backwards. As Garaa flew through the air the real Naruto who was behind him the whole time stuck out his hand and caught Garaa by the throat and slammed him down on the ground.

Garaa was so shocked by the explosion and felt very lucky that his automatic shield came up to defend him. His shield turned to glass and he was thrown backwards only to be caught by the throat and slammed into the ground. His vision was spinning and by the time he cleared his head Naruto was standing next to him.

"You should know by now that anyone who threatens my friends ends up dead or wishing they were." To accent his point Naruto breathed out a small amount of fire that slide down his arm to form claws over his hand before extinguishing them.

Garaa smiled, "remind me not to get on your bad side."

Naruto smiled and reached out his hand. Garaa grabbed it and was yanked up very suddenly. Naruto put him in a headlock and gave him a noogie that got through the first layer of his outer defense of sand.

Sasuke and Sakura came out from their hiding place.

Sakura turned to Sasuke, "That wasn't even close to his full power."

Sasuke shrugged, "Killing his girlfriend's little brother is probably not a great way to keep his girlfriend."

Sakura nodded, "Every time he gets like that it freaks me out though."

Sasuke nodded, "I wonder what he is like at full power though. Every time we spar I can tell he is pulling his punches."

Naruto waved at his teammates with a goofy grin on his face, "Come on guys Garaa doesn't bite." Naruto paused... "You don't, do you?"

Garaa' eyes were swirling around from the slam on the ground and the vigorous noogie he had been given.

Naruto smiled, "I'll take that as a no."

Temari stomped over Naruto and hit him in the head with her huge battle fan. "Stop beating up my brother every time you visit."

Naruto let out a silent scream and held the top of his head in agony. "OOOUUUCHH! HE STARTED IT!'

Temari picked up her brother who seemed to be unconscious. "Yeah, but you could have used your ultimate technique."

Naruto scratched his head where the lump was forming, "I guess, but it's not like I can run away forever some things have to be done."

Temari was silent for a moment then pointed her finger at Naruto, "You owe me a date and not a ramen date a fancy one where you have to dress up."

Naruto groaned, "You know How much I hate dressing up."

Temari smiled, "You know how much I hate carrying my unconscious brother."

Naruto stroked his imaginary beard, "I don't remember you expressly telling me that."

Temari growled.

Naruto sweat dropped, "On the other hand you always look so nice when we go out on a date."

Temari smiled and walked away swaying her hips slightly more than usual.

Sasuke punched him in the arm, "You have got a lot of work ahead of you on that one."

Naruto raised an eyebrow, "I still think mine is quieter than yours."

Sasuke unconsciously nodded in agreement then shook his head, "I don't have a girlfriend at the moment."

Naruto raised his eyebrow and started to mock sing, "Sasuke and Sakura sitting in a tree..."

Sakura karate chopped him in the head causing him to face-plant in to the ground.

Sasuke smiled, "In any case they both like to hit you in the head."

Naruto pushed himself off the ground rubbing his head, "lets just get out of here before someone else shows up. I've had enough headaches for today."

Sasuke smirked, "If you get hit in the head again I think I will actually smile today so I'm all for staying here."

Naruto glared at him and faster than Sasuke could react he swung his hand threw the air and karate chopped Sasuke on the head.

"HIIIYAAA"

Naruto sprinted out of the cave with a cursing Sasuke right behind him waving his sword in the air while sporting a large bump on his head.

Naruto passed the others laughing the whole time.
