After a previous day of suit shopping, Kazuma was focused on making sure that Darkness, Megumin, and Aqua themselves are dressed for success and ready for their job interviews.
"It seems that everything is in working order here Darkness" said Polt with a smile as she finished reviewing her job application.
"Tell me, and be honest, should expect back breaking work and being gawked at like a piece of meat" Darkness said excitingly as Kazuma slapped himself on the forehead over her not being able to keep her pervertedness on the DL, especially during a job interview.
"Well I'd be lying if I said that wasn't true, but honestly it comes with the job, though if you don't mind being looked at while giving it a %110 everyday, than honestly Darkness you're more than a perfect fit" said Polt as everyone went wide eye to that statement.
"You mean-" said Darkness as she was cut off by Polt giving a toothy smile, "Yup, the job is all yours, besides I'm honestly quite grateful to be finally given some assistance, considering how busy I've gotten" said Polt.
"Thank god" mouth Kazuma as that was one less thing for him to worry about, "Alright when do I start" asked Darkness, "Come in tomorrow morning, I have morning class of Minotaur's all wanting to run around the track, be sure to wear the proper workout attire, have a healthy balanced breakfast and bring your own water bottle" said Polt before they both shake hands on it.
Making their way out of the gym, Kazuma could only sigh in relief that someone in their household now has a job with an income.
"Good job Darkness, kinda wished you would have had more tact, but you got the job" said Kazuma, "Yeah good job Darkness" praised Aqua as she performed her signature party trick.
"Now, moving on, we're off to submit Aqua's application at a local maid café, and if we're lucky you'll get interviewed and get hired on the spot" said Kazuma even though he knew damn well that the chance of that happening to Aqua out of everyone here is like… nonexistent.
"Seriously Kazuma, quit trying to sell me short here, and let's submit my application towards that Italian Bistro and Bar" said Aqua as her intentions to work there was very evident.
"Aqua, you know the chances of being able to drink while at work are seriously not possible, unless we were in America" said Kazuma as he was trying yet again get Aqua to open her eyes to the reality.
"Hmpf, just watch me get a job there, and become the employee of the month" said Aqua in her haughty manner as Kazuma rolled his eyes.
"Whatever, if that's going to be the case, we should at least stop at the convenient store that's on the way to submit Megumin's application" said Kazuma.
"I still think you're under selling my skills here Kazuma" said Megumin as he began to rub his temple.
"Megumin, you can't perform explosive magic for one, secondly you can't work with anything dealing explosions for a number of reasons that I've told you a hundred times already, now if you want to be resorted to eating nothing but rice and tea for the remainder of your time here, while we all get to eat pizza and real food, by all means be my guest" said Kazuma as he was well aware that Megumin wasn't in no hurry to go back into a life of hunger.
"Jeez, you wouldn't that be that mean no would you Kazuma" said Megumin as he raised her brow in a manner like that read 'seriously this is me' kind of manner.
"Alright, you win you brute" pouted Megumin as they continued to walk to the convenient store.
Once there, Kazuma made sure to exam Megumin for one last time, making sure she looked prim and proper, that is as prim and proper she can be given her only attire was her adventurer clothing.
"Ok Megumin, do me proud and turn in your application, and please remain on your best behavior" said Kazuma, "Kazuma you have nothing to fear or need I remind you that I am a prodigy amongst those in the Crimson Demon Village" said Megumin smugly before Kazuma flicked her forehead.
"Please, I can't stress this enough, remain on your best behavior!" said Kazuma as Megumin rubbed the spot where she got hit.
As Megumin was heading towards inside the building, the trio waited outside patiently to watch it all from the outside.
"Hey Kazuma, aren't you gonna sneak in and follower her into her interview like you did with Darkness" said Aqua, "Kazuma you did what now" said Darkness with a blush as she felt violated, and not in a good way surprisingly.
"It's not gonna be necessary this time, since all I have to focus on is body language, and facial readings for this one" said Kazuma as he wasn't wrong.
As if the universe chose to prove him right, He witnessed Megumin taking a dramatic pose, and saw the bewildered expression on the employee's face as they were rendered speechless.
Seriously god, why does it have to be one of those days, thought Kazuma as he rolled his eyes, before he saw a different employee stepping in to greet Megumin, and to Kazuma's surprise the guy was acting like a total Chuunibyo as well.
What followed next was Megumin standing on the tips of her toes out of complete joy as they both continued to do their thing leaving the other poor employee in the middle to all of this.
This went on for a good minute, before the Chuunibyo employee stepped aside for a minute and came back and handed Megumin a t-shirt followed by a thumbs up and smile, to which Megumin returned.
"Did you see that Kazuma, I got the job" said Megumin happily as Kazuma was left speechless.
"You just got stupidly lucky back there, that's all that was" said Kazuma as he was denying to accept he saw what just happened.
"Just admit it Kazuma, my skills as a genius was what got me this job" said Megumin smugly to which Kazuma went and repeatedly flicked her on the forehead for.
"Ara, could it be the lucky Kazuma was just being a worry wart NEET for nothing" teased Aqua resulting in her getting her cheeks pinched.
"Shut up Aqua, besides I'm stepping out of the house to get a job and find a smoking hot girlfriend so by default I'm no longer a NEET" said Kazuma with a tic mark over his forehead as he continued to pinch Aqua's cheeks.
"Ok, just stop it already and let go of my cheeks" cried Aqua as Kazuma continued to pull on them for another good minute before releasing her cheeks.
Continuing on their pursuit to get the girls to either find jobs or submit a workers application, the group finally made it to Aqua's dream job as she marched inside with confidence.
"Good luck Aqua" called Darkness, "Thank you, but I don't need luck for I am the goddess of water" said Aqua before making her way inside, with Kazuma shortly following inside to keep an eye on things.
"Welcome miss, what can I do for you" said a handsome young man as he waited at the reception desk, "Hi, I came here to submit and apply for the waitress application you guys had posted" said Aqua.
"Oh, sorry but the position has already been filled just the other day" said the host as Aqua lost all composure to the sudden news as Kazuma couldn't help but put on a shit eating grin.
"W-w-what do you mean the position has already been filled" exclaimed Aqua, "Yeah sorry, these kind of things happen, but hey chin up you never know what could happen tomorrow" said the host trying to play it calm.
"This has to be a joke; this has got to be a cruel joke you hear me" cried Aqua as she had caused enough of a scene for Kazuma to get involved.
"Please forgive my friend, for she's an idiot who lacks manners" said Kazuma with a straight face as he began to pull Aqua outside, "Kazuma what the hell are you doing here you stupid NEET, are you stalking me like how you did with Darkness earlier" said Aqua before Kazuma went and bopped her on the head, in front of everyone mind you.
"Please… forgive us" said Kazuma to the host with a genuine apologetic look before he continued to drag Aqua back outside with everyone else.
"Well… that could've escalated a lot worse" said Kazuma as he looked down on Aqua as she finished her tantrum.
"This is so unfair" said Aqua with a sniffle, "Yeah, now we can't show our faces to one restaurant so far, with the worst part being that none of us got a chance to sit down and try the place out" sighed Kazuma as Aqua pouted over how Kazuma was showing her no sympathy.
"Anyways, Aqua the next place for you to apply would be at a local maid café" said Kazuma as they continued to march forward in getting Aqua a job.
It was at this moment did Kazuma get a text from Lala asking if she could come over and join them for a night of pizza and late-night gaming.
Truth be said, ever since Kazuma had let Lala spend the night with him that one time, he's been honestly spending a lot of time with her now out of everyone next door.
Yes the whole being able to take off her head like as if she was going to quote Shakespeare did creeped him out, but she did have a banging body that he can't deny, which acts honest compared to Lala.
"Everything good Kazuma" asked Megumin, "Yeah, just got a text from Lala, she's planning to join us for pizza and later on we're gonna game" said Kazuma casually even though inside he was very giddy.
While they have nothing against Lala, Megumin more than anyone, the girls of Team Kazuma felt a hinge of jealousy.
"Isn't she mooching off our hospitality at this point" said Aqua bluntly as Kazuma turned to look at her.
"First of all, until you can secure a job, you have absolutely no right to argue you bum, secondly there's no need to get jelly over me, especially since I would not waste my effort and time to seduce you 3, considering you're all here until I get you gone" sassed Kazuma as this got the girls to glare at Kazuma angrily.
"No way are we jealous over who you date you pervert shut in NEET" exclaimed Aqua as a few people looked at them, "Dude inside voice" said Kazuma as he did not want to look bad in the public's eye.
"Whatever, let's just go and get this next job interview over with" said Aqua as she began to lead the way to her next job interview.
Later
The maid café was a disaster, considering how Aqua recalled the many times she was forced to work in a maid costume while paying off her debts at local stands, and so it was obvious to the get go she was not going to be a happy camper.
Barista at a coffee shop, also a failure given how she couldn't learn all these new coffee lingos and mixtures fast enough, small time candy shop was also a no since the job had been filled, and finally working at a liquor store didn't happen since the manager felt giving her the job would come to haunt him.
"Seriously, Aqua it was not that hard for you to find part time job like this back in the other world, so tell me how are you just not getting any of these jobs" said Kazuma in disbelief as he's considering that maybe she's better off working for manual labor like packing boxes or painting fences.
"I don't know, all I know is that this is so unfair" cried Aqua as they were approaching the last job, they could think of being having her work in construction.
"Alright, here we are guys" said Darkness as they all stood outside of ISKIP a very popular American diner with locations all over the world.
"Tell you what if it makes you feel better I'll stay outside this time around" said Kazuma as Aqua took in a deep breath, "Honestly I could use some support from you guys" said Aqua as they group went inside.
Greeting them was an early 30 year old woman as she began to gather some menu, "Welcome, table for 4 I assume" she said, "Um no thank you, we're actually here for her" said Kazuma gesturing to Aqua as she stepped forward.
"Hi, I'd like to apply for the position you have available" said Aqua as fingers crossed that it was available.
"Oh, perfect why don't you come with me while I get your friends seated" said the woman as she brought the trio to a booth and lead Aqua across the way where they began to chat.
"Here's to hoping Aqua gets the job" said Darkness as they all nodded in agreement, before Kazuma took out his phone and began to play one of the many gacha games one can download and play.
"Hey Kazuma what are you playing right now" asked Megumin as her interest has been peaked, "Hate/Grand War Order" said Kazuma casually as he began to select his favorite huntsmen character class, who was Abraham 'Abby' Lincoln in her Vampire Hunter attire.
"Is it any fun" asked Darkness, "I think so, I mean it's based off the classic Eroge turned anime Hate/Blood Night, though I will admit I don't recall more than half of these characters since they neither appeared on the original anime and its pre-sequel Hate/No Hero" said Kazuma.
"I take it you have both properties back at home" asked Darkness, "Yup" said Kazuma as he continued play for the next few minutes.
Eventually Aqua came back to join the group in a calm manner which could only mean good news.
"So how'd it go" asked Kazuma, "I got the job" sighed Aqua as they were all expecting her to smile or show some level of happiness.
"You don't seem to happy about it, what's wrong" asked Darkness, "Well, besides having to work full time, I'm expecting to come in as a mid shift and occasionally will have to do closing" said Aqua as she was expecting a morning sort of gig.
"Hey you got the job, be grateful about it, now let's head on back home and get some pizza" said Kazuma as he began to lead them all outside, "Pizza again" said the girls in unison as they were starting to get sick of it.
"Hey, it sucks, but it's either this or rice until we get our first pay checks and then we can go out for some shakes and burgers" said Kazuma.
As they walked down the street, luck would fall before Kazuma once again when he found a 500 yen coin on the floor.
"Hey you guys head on back I'll catch up later on" said Kazuma as he started to walk back into town.
"If you plan to buy anything share with us" said Aqua as he waved them off before taking out his phone.
"Killa pick up the phone" said Kazuma as he could use her company again for what he had planned, before someone picked up.
"Satou residence, you're talking to Moskii" said Moskii on the other line, "Hey Moskii, mind putting Killa on the line" said Kazuma, "I'm afraid she's busy right now".
"What do you mean busy" asked Kazuma as he raised a brow, "She's chasing after Rachnee again" said Moskii as Kazuma lowered his head.
"Got it, well fingers cross that I'll be able to carry everything on my end no problem" said Kazuma, "Ooh you going shopping Juice Box" said Moskii excitingly.
"Something like that" said Kazuma, "Please buy some fruit if you could, better yet, tell me where you're at and I'll meet you" said Moskii, "I'll be near a pachinko parlor and arcade on Manjoume Sanda avenue".
"See you there" said Moskii before hanging up as Kazuma walked into the parlor with nothing but confidence.
By the time Moskii arrived, she saw that Kazuma had left the parlor with a fruit basket, a complementary voucher of up to 200,000 yen, a Pintendo Switch with a copy of MKX, and finally a pair of Oakley sunglasses.
"Sup Moskii" said Kazuma as he handed her the basket of fruit, "Hey Kazuma I take it you clean the building" said Moskii as she began to reach for an apple.
"Well, I was kind enough to leave them with the complete series to the first and second iterations of Princess Precure" said Kazuma jokingly, "If they really did have it and you didn't accept it, Megumin and Yuuhi would kill you" said Moskii as they began to walk back home.
"So, want to do some quick shopping with me or you want to head back with that and this" said Kazuma referring to his Switch.
"I'm in no hurry, plus it gives me a chance to stretch out my wings" said Moskii as they went the open market stand and bought some real food to enjoy that they can make at home at a later date.
Once they were done, they were ready to head back home, before an unfriendly sight caught Kazuma's eyes.
"Hey babe, ain't that the scrub whose bike we stolen the other day" said the female of the rude couple, "Sure is, and it seems like the bug freak decided to ditch the wasp for a mosquito" said the male as they let out an obnoxious laugh.
"You know these people" said Moskii rather meekly as Kazuma glared at them, "Unfortunately" said Kazuma as he glared at them.
"Hey scrub you owe me for getting me and my girl dumped in the back of the garbage truck" said the male, "On what grounds" said Kazuma as his patience with these 2 are thin.
"On the grounds that your crappy bike of yours made me lose control and that we had to walk back home smelling like garbage halfway from the town dump" said the male as Kazuma rolled his eyes.
"Go cool your head under some water and beat it" said Kazuma as he and Moskii were ready to leave, "Don
T you be ignoring me you bug lover, otherwise you and the blood sucker of yours are going to pay for the consequences dearly" said the male, "You tell him baby" said the female.
Really all Kazuma wanted to do was leave here before this guy causes a bigger scene, more so the usual chipper Moskii was feeling very uncomfortable based on her sad demeanor.
At this point Kazuma had no choice but use his skills to good use as he reached out and grabbed onto Moskii's hand.
"Lurk" said Kazuma as he and Moskii seemed to disappear from sight from the couple and anyone else who watched, when really Kazuma was able to sneak them both past them without being notice if for a moment as they ran passed behind him.
"Hope we never meet again" called Kazuma as they both ran the corner, "Hey get back here scrub" said the male before he and his girl stared to chase after him.
Taking out the bottle of dish soap from his shopping bag, Kazuma casted freeze before spraying the floor with half a bottle worth of soap
While they waited patiently leaning against some rails, the rude couple came running, before tripping and sliding across the floor a good few feet towards a man who was carrying paint.
While the man himself was in the clear, he did spilled some paint on the rude couple as they laid there in defeat trying to get the paint off them.
Using this as a chance to peacefully escape and go home as crowds of people went to check on him, Moskii wounded up leaning herself against Kazuma.
"No wonder Killa has the hots for you" said Moskii as Kazuma began to blush, "Well you know, you girls are in my care" said Kazuma trying to sound cool.
"Aren't we lucky to have a gentleman such as you" said Moskii as they continued to walk home and back in their neighborhood.
"For the record, I think you should know that we all kinda like you for one reason or another" said Moskii, "I kinda figured that one out" said Kazuma as he went to reach for the door only for Moskii to quickly peck him on the cheek.
As Kazuma was ready to question Moskii about what had happened, the door swung open as Kazuma was glomped by who else, but Leechi.
"About time blood bag I was about to feast on that masochistic blonde roommate of ours, but now that you're here" said Leechi with a playful smile before she bit into Kazuma's collar.
"Mother of god!" shouted Kazuma in pain as Leechi feasted on his blood for the second time today.
There you guys go the next chapter to this long awaited series, which you know what I'm actually thankful that the fan support is still strong to this day and I hope it not only continues to grows with the old crowed but a new one as well.
