The night had finally came for Kazuma to take Kino out on a date and to say he felt kind of nervous was the understatement of the century.
Yeah he's finally got to go on 2 different proper dates in his miserable life all of which had happened in a span of a few days, and more importantly woman not only found him hot but want to be with him and have no personality flaws like a certain trio that's been living with him paying rent.
Speaking of, the girls have been acting very strange around him, like how Darkness would instantly run out the front door the moment Kazuma would step out his room to join her breakfast, while Megumin refused to acknowledge him and gave him the cold shoulder, though to be fair they did use to date and he technically never did broke up with her properly, let alone acknowledge the relationship they have or even had, while Aqua has been sulking and ignoring Kazuma especially since there's literally video and photo graphic evidence of them grinding up against each other and making out, with Aqua clearly stating she demands that he takes responsibility.
But all that was for a subject for a later date and time, and right now he needed to focus on how he was going to spend his date with Kino, who was shy as a certain yellow Pegasus that Yuuhi has drawn pictures of wanting to own.
Difference was that she had this habit of spewing these hallucinogenic spores that according from his neighbors and boss sends you on the best LSD trip, with that can only be cured via water.
So the last thing he wanted to do was cause a mass pandemic of getting innocent strangers high like those assholes at Woodstock that sprayed people with water laced with said LSD or Acid, which meant he was limited as to what he can do with Kino.
Mini golf was out of the question, arcades was definitely a no go, movie theaters was just asking for trouble, going out to dinner was a hard no, going to the beach at night would be insulting.
Honestly the safest date would be one here at home via Netflix and Chill, but even if he were to suggest literally the PG version, that leaves them with no privacy to get to know each other and honestly he himself would consider that to be a boring date.
"Shit, this is seriously a lot harder than I thought it would be" grimaced Kazuma as he approached his house, having finally getting out of work.
"I'm home girls" called Kazuma as he began to take his shoes off with Killa and Curie sitting around Kino who was waiting for him patiently.
"Welcome back blood bag, how was work" asked Leechi, "Not bad, just boring since there's nothing but paperwork, but hey I got my personal licensing paperwork done and Ms. Smith's work she never bothered to fill it that were about 2 years ago.
"Jesus Christ, how has she not been fired" asked Killa, "I ask myself that everyday" said Kazuma as he began to enter his house and approach Kino.
"Mind giving me about a half hour to myself as I get ready for our date" asked Kazuma, "Uh-huh" said Kino with a nod as Kazuma began to walk his way towards his bedroom before slumping his back on his door.
Shit, what am I gonna do, thought Kazuma as he began to change out of his work clothes and began to put on his jeans, a black t-shirt that reads 'Cool Josh' in blue letters, and a thick green jacket.
The last of his normal everyday clothing he had bought for himself as he began to start thinking last minute as to what the hell he was going to do with Kino.
Eventually his train of thought ended when he heard some knocking on his door.
"The door is open" said Kazuma as Moskii came inside with Curie, "My Count, please forgive us for intruding" said Curie.
"It's fine, if anything shut the door behind you I got an important confession to make here" said Kazuma, "Let me guess, you've got nothing planned for your date with Kino" said Moskii as Kazuma literally choked on his words.
"No worries Juice Box, we kinda figured that might be the case, more so Kino was more than self-aware, which is why she herself had reservations for a place that's very welcoming to her kind" said Moskii.
"She did" asked Kazuma as he kinda saw Kino as the last person to take any form of initiative given her personality if he was quite honest.
"She did, she spent all weekend searching for the perfect place and activity, and even went as far as having a special pick up bus coming to get you guys" said Moskii.
"So please, I think it be best if you stepped out and waited alongside with her till your bus arrive" said Curie, "All right, I know I'm taking a chance here, but then again I am the most luckiest man alive" said Kazuma with a smirk.
"Who knows, you may get lucky yourself one day" said Moskii with a smile as Curie turned her head away and blushed a little over the implications as Kazuma was really starting to enjoy his new harem life.
"Now come on, time for you to go" said Moskii as she helped Kazuma off his bed and pushed him back outside with Kino for their bus ride to whatever destination she had in store.
Time Skip
The bus ride was definitely interesting as there were a few various other liminials joining them, but what stood out was the in built sprinkler system, while the bus driver sat in a vacuum sealed seat, with a rebreather apparatus on as an extra precaution.
While not sure if Kazuma should feel worried or not, he none the less sat next to Kino as they rode the bus all the way towards the edge of town near the sticks, before he and everyone was ushered off.
Soon they were gathering around the center of a clearing where they saw 3 people standing on a stage with lights flashing on them.
"Ladies and gentlemen, man and liminials, my is Doctor Keiji Sakurada, with me are my associates Professor Geist and Coach Hawkins, and let us start by saying that we are very happy and excited for all of you to join us this fine evening as you are all the first to enjoy the close opening night of…" said Keiji before a banner fell over head.
"Camp Tengu, a camp site dedicated to cater to everyone and anyone who has an interest in camping, back packing, or the great outdoors" said Keiji.
"Our goal is to not only revive camping back into the community, but also get liminials who not only feel like their back at home, but also to tighten the bonds and relationship with your fellow man" said Keiji.
"For tonight, we're limiting our activities to only arts and crafts at the arts and crafts station, and a few group activities in the sports dome arena, so please, enjoy yourselves, have fun, and stay safe" said Keiji as he left the stage with everyone clapping and cheering for him.
"Huh, never knew you were the camper type" commented Kazuma while looking at Kino, "Well I've always had an interest to come on out and see the world and make friends" said Kino meekly.
"Well whatever, it doesn't matter, what matters is us trying to have a good time here tonight, so my question is what do you wanna do first" asked Kazuma, "Let's go to the arts and crafts tables first" said Kino as the pair made their way over.
Now the arts and crafts table wasn't a traditional arts and crafts like you would see in your school, as Kazuma saw people flexing their survival skills either by knot tying, wood carving, or constructing an impromptu shelter out of leaves and sticks.
Don't I feel like an amateur adventurer again, thought Kazuma as he began to pout a little as Kino went off to show off one of her own talented skills Kazuma wasn't even aware of.
Grabbing a large wad of wet clay, Kino slammed it on the clay pot wheel, and went to work as she amazed everyone how she was able to construct herself a set of clay bowls, cups, and plates to be brought back home.
"And we're done" said Kino with a smile as she picked and admired her handywork, before she gathered her creations and joined Kazuma who was painting himself a not so flattering picture of a buck.
"How are you doing Kazuma" asked Kino with more enthusiasm in her voice than she's ever had since she moved in.
"Ok I guess" said Kazuma as he was done with his painting before looking at Kino's collection of clay tableware.
"Oh wow, that's… honestly really cool that you made all these" said Kazuma as he lifted one of the cups to admire it up close.
"Oh, um thanks, though honestly it's nothing compared to what some of my friends back at home can do" said Kino with a light blush.
"You kidding, compared to my painting here and this hand puppet I made out of a paper bag, your clayware is a work of art" said Kazuma as he showed Kino a not so flattering hand puppet of Aqua with sharp teeth and crazy eyes.
Seeing this got Kino to laugh as she will admit that Aqua can be unpleasant, and seeing the crudely made hand puppet as to how Kazuma see's her was indeed laughable.
"Glad to know I'm not the one who thinks this was still funny when I was done making it" said Kazuma.
"Anyways want to head towards the sports dome, my butts fallen asleep and I could really use a good workout" asked Kazuma, "Yeah, that would be fun" said Kino with a smile.
Once they made their way to the sports dome, Kazuma decided it was his time to shine and flex off his skills at the archery range as he went up against centaurs and elves in archery, and never strayed from the center of the bullseye no matter how far he was.
"Wow, for a human, your pretty good" said an elf girl as she looked at Kazuma with admiration, "I say it was all skill, but truth of the matter it was all luck" said Kazuma cooly as his words were an inside joke to him.
"I won't accept that a scrawny tiny little smol man could catch up to a horse man like me, especially with my swol muscles and bulging member" said the male centaur as he began to flex his muscles.
"Doesn't matter how big your guns are if they don't work or aim straight" said Kazuma as he took a stand against the centaur as people gathered around to see how this was going to end.
"Alright little man, I challenge you and your tiny physique to go up against me and my swol body in the only sport deemed fair enough for the both of us to compete in" said the centaur.
"A walk off" said the centaur as people began that they both enter in a walk off to entertain everyone, as everyone began to chant for it.
"Alright then, you're on" said Kazuma as he was questioning as to how and why he was agreeing to something this stupid since he agreed to distract the bear that one time during his date with Killa.
It was pretty intense as Kazuma would strut and pose, and even took his shirt off to show that he wasn't all the scrawny, while the centaur would try to mimic his moves, but add additional pelvic thrusts and ahegao faces.
Meanwhile Kino had just finished placing 3rd in a sack race, before seeing the show Kazuma was putting on, and was ready to burst into a storm of spores over being over stimulated, if not realizing how tired he was getting.
Making her way around she waved at Kazuma to chat with her real quick.
"Hey Kino, what's up" asked Kazuma, "I came to check on you, how are you feeling" asked Kino.
"Tired, I don't know if I can even beat this guy" said Kazuma begrudgingly as he hated losing to douchebags like him, as Kino began to look at the centaur before she had an idea.
"Kazuma I actually saw him come here not alone, and I think I know the best way to beat him" said Kino, "I'm listening" said Kazuma.
"See that girl standing over there holding that tray of apple pie" said Kino pointing at an older woman who was carrying an apple pie that looked like it was fresh hot from the oven, before she placed it on a stand that was reminiscent of a window sill.
"Yeah, what should I do" said Kazuma, "Flirt with her" stated Kino as Kazuma looked at her with a confused look.
"Come on you little smol green bean, either start walking or claim that you give up" said the centaur as that was more than enough reason to motivate Kazuma to do what Kino suggested as he walked his way towards the woman.
Walking his way off the stage he approach the woman, still shirtless mind you, as she began to blush and advert her eyes from Kazuma before he gently place his finger under her chin and had her face him.
"Hey, what do you think you're doing to my mom" exclaimed the centaur as Kazuma was definitely going to relish this moment.
"Excuse me miss, but forgive me for sounding bold here, but I couldn't help but notice that you left a moist warm pie out in the open, so now the question remains if I could get a taste, or if I'm gonna have to steal it from you" said Kazuma seductively as the woman was definitely feeling smitten as many of the girls felt jealous of her.
"Noooooooooo! I know there's nothing wrong with my mom having an active sex life, but not knowing about it is what makes it a healthy boundary" cried the centaur as he ran off stage not wanting to see his rival to hook up with his mom.
"Guess I won by default" commented Kazuma as he now had to deal with the fact he had flirted with an older woman, who just so happens to be some guys mom.
"Look, not that there's anything wrong with this becoming something, but I only flirted with you so I can beat your son in the walk off, plus I think it's morally wrong to shack up with the mother or daughter of someone you know" said Kazuma as he was lying since he would've honestly have no qualms being in a mother daughter threesome with Megumin and her mom if given the chance.
"That's alright, honestly while it felt nice to be charmed by such a handsome young man, I'm honestly a slut for big horse cocks" said the centaurs mom as Kazuma was now left appalled.
"Good to know, I mean good for you, but in all seriousness I still hope to get a few slices of pie from you" said Kazuma as he did, before he walked back to Kino as they left the sports dome to enjoy a late night picnic under the stars.
KONOSUBA
After a fun night of doing camp activities, Kazuma had a feeling that he and Kino might be going out camping a little more often, as they finally got off home.
Kino was wearing his jacket after Kazuma gave it to her to wear while they were looking up at the stars, which by his account should have sealed the deal in getting himself kissed by now.
Can't always win them, though Kazuma as he was ready to go home and call it a night, but stopped when he felt Kino tugging at him.
"Hey Kazuma, can I just say something" said Kino as Kazuma thought that maybe he still had a chance before the game ended.
"I had a really great time and the most amount of fun since I came here" said Kino with a smile as she seemed more lively and full of personality since she moved in here with everyone.
"I'm glad you a great time Kino" said Kazuma with a smile as he was still holding out to the thought of her wanting to kiss him.
"Also if it's alright, can I give you a name to call you by" asked Kino as Kazuma actually considered her finally calling him by her own pet name to be a step up.
"You don't even have to ask" said Kazuma in a cool tone and attitude again, "Can I also hold your hand" asked Kino as Kazuma stuck his hand out as Kino gently reach for it.
Once they were locked in hand in hand Kazuma's heart began to race since he knew that the final step was stealing a kiss from Kino, who's heart was also racing, but not for the best as she did erupt a cloud of spores on Kazuma's face.
"Cuddles, no!" exclaimed Kino in horror as Kazuma began to cough in an uncontrollable fit, and was ready to go on a high ride, before he was saved thanks to Lala as she splashed a bucket of water over his head.
"You alright Kazuma" asked Lala as she held the empty bucket in her hands, "I am now, thanks" said Lala as Kino began to hand his jacket back.
"I'm sorry Kazuma" said Kino apologetically, "It's alright, from now on let's take baby steps. Lala I definitely owe you one" said Kazuma as Lala began to smile.
"Than this Saturday, you are going to put on hold whatever plans you have that day and are going to spend it with me" said Lala with triumphant humph.
"Come again" said Kazuma, "No excuses, I'll see you later on this Saturday" said Lala with a smile as she walked back home leaving the couple confused.
"I'm really sorry Kazuma, I'll explain to the girls and back you up that you'll be busy this weekend" said Kino, "It's fine Kino, I mean, don't lose your new found courage over spraying me, it'll happen, but I do promise to be by your side when your finally overcome your shyness" said Kazuma.
"Cuddles, you are the best" said Kino as they both walked back home side by side knowing that todays date was truly a wonderful success, while Lala was acting like a giddy middle school girl for finally being able to spend some one on one time again with Kazuma this weekend.
"What's up with Lala" asked Miia, "She finally got Kazuma to go on a date with her this Saturday" explained Suu as the Kurusu household erupted in a roars of 'eh' over the sudden news.
And we're done, honestly I had a hard time thinking about what to do for this date when I started the arc from the very beginning, but that's why I was so determined to get this done asap and also done right, so I hope you guys loved the end results, especially since now Kazuma has been given a pet name by every girl within his household, so let's give a round of applause for our boy Kazuma here.
