Iori wrinkled his nose slightly as he watched Takeru hug the stray puppy they had found that morning. From the looks of it, it couldn't have been more than three months old, but that was long enough for Iori to know that it was allowed to be given a bath. It wasn't that he didn't like animals; after all, digimon resembled them a bit. No, it was because it was a stray, albeit a cute one and that might lead to dead fleas and rabies. Besides, ever since they had found the stray, his boyfriend had been fussing over it relentlessly to the point that Iori was shunned. He did not want to admit he was jealous of a dog.

Seeing the sour look on his face, Takeru just gave him a reassuring smile while bringing the puppy to the back of their apartment building, where most of the laundries were hung. They discussed on their way back that they would first give the puppy a decent bath before feeding it, in case it might make too much of a mess inside the house. They had passed by a pet shop earlier just to buy the things for the little mutt.

Sitting down on one of the nearby stools, Iori watched as Takeru struggled to hold the puppy while trying to turn the faucet on so that water could fill the basin. However, like all dogs, this one didn't seem to see the beauty of a bath, and so it struggled against him.

Takeru gave him a pleading look, and Iori sighed before complying with his lover's silent request. He stood up and grabbed the puppy from him, carefully keeping him a safe distance away just in case.

"Arigato, Iori." Takeru smiled, before turning the faucet off once the basin was full. Now came the tricky part.

"Ano sa, Takeru… this dog is crazy." Iori moaned a bit in annoyance, trying to wrestle the little puppy into the basin. It was feisty, to say the least, and it took both boys a while before they could start giving him a decent bath.

During the bath, the puppy tried to jump and escape several times, splashing water all over the two boys. Its continuous movement caused the basin to overflow, until there was barely any water left to wash all of the soap off. Takeru tried to fill it with water again, but the puppy's desperate attempt to flee finally paid off. It shook Iori off and started running around the field, before stopping in front of a huge blanket being hung to dry. Realizing what he was about to do, both boys quickly jumped to their feet to stop him, but they were too late. The puppy pulled at the sheet and wrestled it to the ground, getting both his tiny body and the sheet messy with dirt.

Iori groaned at this in annoyance, but Takeru just chuckled lightheartedly. It seemed he was in a good mood today, so he didn't really seem to care about the gravity of the situation.

They gave chase when the puppy started running around again, but since they had forgotten to shut the faucet, the basin started overflowing. When they had passed by that area in pursuit of the crazy animal, they both slipped up and fell to the ground, Iori under Takeru. They both looked at each other for a moment, before Takeru laughed and kissed Iori lightly. The younger boy rolled his eyes and kissed back, before Takeru lost his balance and fell on him, squashing him a bit. The puppy seemed to have jumped on the blonde's back, and refused to move from its position.

The stayed like that for a while, before Iori muttered something under his breath.

"We should call that dog Dash… he runs too much."

Takeru just laughed and kissed him again.
