DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN NARUTO (THOUGH I OWN ONE NFT, JK HAHA I'M POOR ALSO IDK IF THOSE ARE LEGIT XD)
Tour-de-Konoha
It was a fair day, the sun high up in the sky but the temperature that day wasn't too unbearable. There were a fair amount of clouds in the sky as well thus providing temporary shades, the wind blew with just the right amount of strength. Overall, it is safe to say that it was a rather lovely day.
Konohagakure no Sato (Village Hidden in the Leaves) is quite a large for the following reasons: it is one of the major villages in the Elemental Nations, it houses a lot of clans as well as civilians, and it has a lot of infrastructure within its walls, and many more to mention. Though the main thing that separates this village from the rest is what they consider to be their magnum opus, Hokage-iwa (Hokage Rock/Hokage Monument). A mountain that has had the faces of all the Hokages carved into the stone, a truly majestic sight indeed.
Much like any village, the locations of various sections of the village have a purpose in the grand scheme of things. At the front of the Hokage Monument was the Konoha Todoshokoro (Konoha Archive Library), within the monument was an evacuation shelter in the event of an emergency where civilians and low-ranking shinobi are evacuated if need be. There were tons of ANBU hideouts but their locations are undisclosed for obvious reasons. The Konoha Aviary, Konoha Academy, Jounin Station, and Hokage Tower are all placed next to one another. Speaking of the Hokage, the Hokage Residence is nearby the Hokage Tower itself for the convenience of the village's leader.
Next up are the Public Service Buildings such as the Konoha Byoin (Konoha Hospital) and the Konoha Keisatsusho (Konoha Police Station). Both are important buildings that needed to keep the whole village operational in a way. The hospital treats both civilians and shinobi alike thus keeping the entire population in tip-top shape, the police station. On the other hand, houses the Konoha Keimu Butai (Konoha Military Police Force) which used to be operated by the Uchiha clan. Their main purpose was to keep the peace within the village by enforcing the village's law.
Since the Uchiha clan was mentioned, let us move on to the various clan holdings and compounds within the village. First, is the Uchiha District, which is located right beside the police station since their clan primarily operated it in the past. There is a lot of history within this location, there is even a reason why their settlement is located far away from the other clans. Now a desolate district that used to house an entire clan, the reason being was that the clan faced a tragic incident. A massacre to be exact, adding salt to the wound was that the culprit was of their own flesh and blood. A tragic event if I do say so myself.
On a much lighter note, next is the Hyuga Compound which is located in the heart of the village. It is surrounded by white walls to stave off unwanted eyes as well as prevent noise from coming in and coming out. Casually passing by the compound is prohibited, and unwanted trespassing is extremely inadvisable. Breaking into the compound of a clan that possesses the Byakugan (All Seeing White Eye) is quite literally one of the dumbest things a person can do.
Next in line is the Akimichi Estate, located near the Nara Forest. Their territory displays both power and prosperity which houses one of Konoha's strongest clans in terms of pure physical strength. If you have an empty stomach then this is the place to be for the Akimichis make for the kindest hosts a person could ask for.
The Nara Forest on the other hand is a vast forest that is located on the eastern side of the village. A location where various flora and fauna thrive, and the Naras serve as the forest's keepers. Their clan greatly contributes not only to military might but also provides resources for the production of medicine that Konoha uses.
Let us now head to the western side of the village which is where the Inuzuka Holdings are located. The Inuzuka Clan is known for its keen sense of smell and its wild nature. Due to their lifestyle of living with their canine companions, their clans require a vast expanse for both members of the clan and their Ninken (Ninja Hounds/Ninja Dogs) to live in. They are situated in a large field where their dogs can roam freely to their heart's desire, this also serves as a location for members of the clan to train with their companions.
The next clan on the list is the Aburame clan, they are located beside the Inuzuka Holdings for they also have companions of their own. The reason why they also require a rather large space for their bugs is that it is necessary to keep them contained, these bugs would devour any flora they see if left unchecked. Their settlement is in a rather isolated location which is akin to their reserved and silent demeanor.
Next are the mind-walkers of Konoha, the Yamanaka Clan. The Yamanaka District is located beside Konoha's park, which is pretty convenient since the park usually requires some flowers here and there to make it more appealing. Their district is also near a shop the clan owns, namely Yamanaka Flowers. Do not let their passion for flowers fool you for their clan contributes a lot to the Torture and Interrogation Force, this department in Konoha's force really suits their techniques which involve the human mind.
There are many more clans to mention such as the Sarutobi Clan, Senju Clan, and Kurama Clan but I believe I have enumerated plenty of clans above. Those clans would be discussed some other time, but for now, let us move on to different matters. Let us now discuss the locations where Konoha's shinobi train to get stronger.
Konoha has over fifty different training grounds that are spread throughout the entire village. These training grounds have various levels of difficulties depending on what type of training their shinobi desires. Some are more dangerous than others and others are more peaceful and lax.
Out of the fifty training grounds, the Daiyonjūyon Enshūjō (Forty-Fourth Training Ground) stands out the most. Konoha calls it the "Shi no Mori (Forest of Death)", a location that exists to primarily test the survival and fighting aptitudes of Genin that are trying to become Chunin. It is very dangerous for it is home to hordes of flora and fauna, often gigantic, poisonous - or even both at the same time - hence the name.
Another notable area in Konoha is its stadium which is generally used for the Chunin Exams, it is a domed structure that often lies mostly abandoned and is occasionally used as a practice ground for large groups.
Konoha is known for many things and one of those things is being home to a plethora of hot springs, this location is specifically called the Hot Springs District. It is a branch of the Naka no Kawa (Naka River), the water heated throughout an entire district made up of onsen and specialty stores. A perfect tourist attraction if I do say so myself, though beware of peeping toms and perverts around the area.
That's not the only thing Konoha has to offer, it has plenty of avenues to entertain and indulge yourself. There's the Red Lantern, Konoha's most popular bar which is located just down the Jounin Station. Due to where it is located, you will likely see many of Konoha's elite there varying in levels of sobriety. Another option is Shushuya, a resto-bar that serves its own unique brand of sake as well as large platter dishes which is perfect for groups of people who are looking to have a good time. Their sake and yakitori that they serve are exceptional.
If sake and alcohol are not your thing then Konoha has teas and sweets. A shop named Amiaguriama can supply your needs, it is located in Konoha's Tea Avenue which is home to an assortment of food stands as well as restaurants making it one of the busiest places in the village, especially during the nighttime.
Not a fan of sweets like Kakashi? Then try out Yakiniku Q, a nice sit-down restaurant where grills are built into the tables themselves and raw food is supplied to be cooked to your own preference.
Looking for something to warm up your gut or a food that is best to eat on rainy days? Perhaps Ichiraku Ramen might fulfill that need, it is the best ramen in all of Konoha according to our resident Jinchuriki. "You're darn right it's the best, dattebayo!" Naruto commented. This food stall although simple in appearance, serves noodles that some say rival noodles that come from Udon no Kuni (Land of Noodles).
As I have mentioned earlier, the Yamanaka Clan owns a shop of their own named Yamanaka Flowers. It is the go-to shop for all your floral needs, a place you can find a gift you can give to someone you love. They got you covered for any occasion that's for sure.
What if flowers won't cut it? Then head to Konoha's Shopping District where you can find a lot of possible gifts for someone you know, it could be a dress, a book, a bag, some kind of jewelry, and many more. Just be sure to bring enough money, you might spend more money than you intended to.
Last but not the least is the Milani Forge which is stationed next to the Naka River, this place specializes in various weaponry and supplies some of the best equipment in the village though there are plenty of shops in Konoha that also sell all sorts of weapons a ninja might use, all you have to do is look for it.
We're just about down on our tour around Konoha, the places we mentioned earlier have a rather joyful tone but let us now move to a place with the opposite atmosphere. I am talking about the cemetery and the Memorial Stone, a place where most of Konoha's shinobi are buried and remembered for their services to the village. The bodies that aren't buried here are simply those that weren't retrieved which is a shame. On the Memorial Stone, all those who had the will of fire have their names etched onto it for the living to remember. They may be dead but their memories shall live on in our hearts and mind.
And this is where the tour ends, we have discussed pretty much everything there is in Konoha though there are things that are left unmentioned due to confidentiality. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed your tour around Konoha and we are looking forward to seeing you here more often.
(A/N: This is a chapter for world-building if you will, so naturally it won't progress the plot. But it will paint a better picture when it comes to the world this story is set in, throughout the series we really never got to have a closer look at Konoha as a whole. Heck, I just learned recently that the Academy and Hokage Tower are essentially the same building. So yeah haha, thanks for the continuous support. I really appreciate it and I enjoy writing these and thank you for bearing with me on how inconsistent I upload (I did warn you all so yeah haha) cheers ^^)
