The wind whistled through the cherry trees, mercilessly ripping them from the
branches, and sending them careening to the ground. The blossom's spiraled
around in the wind, slowly settling in the pond beneath the cherry tree. Some
blossom's caught in the dark raven hair that belonged to a young woman, who sat
serenely underneath the largest cherry tree next to the pond. Deep blue eyes stared
dreamily at the crystal pond scattered with pink, as a soft red mouth lifted easily in
a gentle smile. The young beauty's head rested on a slender hand, her skin tanned
lightly from the sunlight. Her slender form shifted, settling on her stomach, her
slim legs swishing back and forth, as she trailed her hand in the pond's blue water.
She sighed slightly, as she watched the small orange goldfishes swim slowly
around and through her fingers. She turned her face to the sky, soaking up the
sun's rays.
' I wonder how he'll take the news.' She frowned slightly. ' I hope he wont leave me,' she thought sadly.
A shadow came up in front of her, blocking the sun from her face." Kagome ", the deep voice murmured.
Kagome eyes flew open. Her eyes sparkled joyously as they met the deep gold eyes of her love. " Youko! ", she cried as she leapt up from the ground, flinging herself at his white clad chest.
Youko wrapped his strong arms around her tightly. He buried his face into her hair, inhaling her sweet scent of fresh cut grass and lilies.
"I missed you so much." She mumbled into his chest.
Youko sighed happily, nuzzling her cheek, sending a shiver through Kagome"
Not as much as I have missed you, my sweet little rose." He purred into her ear.
Kagome blushed lightly, giggling as she smacked his firm chest. "Youko, stop it"
she twirped.
"Why? I know you like it." He chuckled as she blushed even brighter, before he leaned down to kiss her nose." I love making you blush, it makes you look cute."
Kagome smiled happily. She suddenly frowned, realizing that she would have to tell him soon.
Youko's eyes softened, as his nose picked up the slight spike of fear, and worry
coming from her. He growled softly, grabbing her chin, making her look at him"
Kagome, some things troubling you." She gasped slightly. "Don't worry love, you
can tell me ."
Kagome pulled away, looking up at the moon, trying to draw strength from the comforting lunar light. She sighed again, before turning to Youko, who was looking at her curiously." Youko, did you ever think of, maybe ...well...you know...um."
" Yeeesss?" Youko prodded.
Kagome took a deep breath. 'Okay, I have to get this over with.'
"Did..did...youeverthinkabouthavingababy?"She rushed out, before flinching.
'Damn.'
Youko had never been more...well..speechless, in his whole life.' A baby? Why did she...she's not...is she?'He looked down at her trembling form. He sniffed the air around her. His eyes widened.' Her scent..it changed...but that means.'He inhaled sharply, his heart skipping a beat. "You're pregnant!"
Kagome froze.' Oh God, he knows! I should never have come here!'
Youko let out a whoop of joy." Yes, I'm going to be a father!", he yelled.
Kagome looked up at him, surprised, then smiled as Youko beamed at her.' I should have known,'she thought as he kissed her, then twirled her around.
Youko hugged her hard." I love you Kagome, so much," he whispered into her hair.
Kagome choked back tears," I love you to, Youko." She hugged him back, before looking up at him slyly." You know, you're going to have to come shopping with me."
Youko stiffened, before slumping slightly." Ah, well, I guess it comes with fatherhood,"he grumbled, as Kagome rambled on about the baby.
