Prologue
Italics are the fanfictions I used. I never changed anything in the fanfictions, no grammar, no orthographic, nothing!

Story: Harmless
1st March 2019
It was a sunny day in Quantico. It was already past five o'clock in the evening and it was time for the team to go home. They had just come home from a case yesterday, and they all needed the much-deserved weekend they got.
"You ready to go kid?" Morgan asked Reid, who already was packing his stuff and clearing his desk, as he and Emily did the same.
"You bet I am!" Spencer said. He grabbed his bag and stood patiently, waiting for the others.
As soon as Emily shut her computer down, she stood beside Reid eagerly, waiting for the rest of her teammates to come out of their offices.
Morgan was next to stand with Reid and Emily, already texting Garcia that they would be going.
Not even a minute later Garcia stood beside the others all ready to go.
"Hotch, are you coming?" Morgan shouted toward the Unit Chief's office.
As soon as he finished the sentence Hotch closed his office door with his bag in his hand and walked down the steps. Since he married Emily he had started to leave the office with them, and not too late into the night.
Rossi followed from his own office a moment later, and soon they were headed out the bullpen, toward the elevator.
Reid left the group and walked over to JJ's office.
"Are you ready to head home JJ?" He asked.
Her computer was already shut down, and she was gathering her things. She grabbed her bag from a particularly mess part of her desk, and Reid was amazed when the mess pf papers didn't fall over.
They could hear the ding of the elevator which meant the team still was there - probably waiting in the elevator, Morgan holding up the doors. They hurried to get there, and as always, Morgan had to make a snarky comment which they just laughed about.
They were a bunch of friends with different personalities that clashed together sometimes. But most of the time they had fun. They felt comfortable with each other, just like a family.
After the short ride in the elevator, they arrived on the main floor. They hadn't made plans for tonight, so everyone said their goodbyes and went their own ways.
Saturday Morning
It was a nice Saturday morning as Emily woke up in her husband's arms. She turned herself around and looked at the clock which read 8:45 a.m. Jack would be up soon and as much as she enjoyed the warmth of her husband, she wanted a few minutes to herself, so she got up and went down to the living room. After deciding to check some emails she made herself a cup of coffee and sat down at their small office space beside the kitchen. They just kept a laptop and some necessary Documents there, as Home wasn't for work, but for family and love.
She put her mug onto the table and sat onto the chair. She started the laptop and after giving in the password she took a sip from her hot cup of coffee and started the mail program. They had a few new e-mails. Most of them were spam but one caught her attention. The subject was Unleash your imagination with FanFiction.
She had never heard of this site. She couldn't imagine what this site could include. After a glance at the clock, she saw that she had around ten more minutes before someone would be awake. She clicked on the link and a browser window opened on Chrome. She let it load and was met with a website.
It said you could write fanfiction about almost anything. She wanted to know if there were any stories about her favorite TV show, Crime Story. She loved that show and for the moment it was on summer break. There wouldn't be any new episodes for at least a month, so maybe she could read a few of these? Why not? It would be something else than always reading a book.
As she went to click on the link for the Crime Story link a loud thud frightened her and she messed up. Instead of clicking on Crime Story, she landed on Criminal Minds. She was about to go back as something caught her attention.
Hotch is forced to punish two of his team members after a few "Harmless pranks" get out of hand.
Did she read Hotch? What is this? She asked herself, confused. Are there stories about them? She didn't know what lead her to do this but she clicked on the story title.

Now a new tab opened with this fanfiction. On top were the title, the author's name, and a short summary. She skipped the top and skimmed over the description and she began to read.
Hotch shut the door behind Morgan and Prentiss and walked around to stand in front of his desk. He crossed his arms as he observed his agents, who were each sitting, somewhat terrified, but mostly amused, in their respective chairs.
Prentiss bit her thumbnail to keep herself from laughing as she looked over at Morgan, who looked like he was in pain from holding in his laughter.
Hotch leaned over, resting his hands on the tops of his desk. "What do you two have to say for yourselves`" he asked.
Morgan tried his best to keep a straight face. "We're sorry."
She was so focused on reading she didn't realize that someone was walking down the stairs.
"Mommy?" the little boy asked.
Emily immediately clapped the laptop shut and took Jack into her arms.
"What can I do for you, my little man?" She asked sweetly and cuddled him closer.
"Daddy's still asleep. I want to cuddle:" He said.
Emily stood up and walked over to the couch with him.
The clock above the TV told her it only was 9 am. Aaron will probably sleep a little longer. She laid down on the couch and again took him close. Together they laid there enjoying the silence. She loved those moments with only Jack.
After Haley's death, she helped Aaron as much as she could and while helping Jack and she grew closer. She didn't realize it, but she must have fallen asleep, then at 9:30 Hotch slowly walked down the stairs.
He didn't hear anything, so he assumed they were in the living room as usual. It was like a tradition to them. Whenever she was at home at the weekends they would just lie on the couch and cuddle for what seemed like hours. Hotch walked into the living room and saw both of them on the couch asleep. He left the room quietly and walked into the kitchen to grab his phone.
Back in the living room, he snapped a photo of them. He saved it to the special folder he made. Every time he saw them lying there he would snap a photo of them. Afterward, he wanted to make a collage out of it and give it to her on her birthday. He wanted to let them rest on the couch, so he started breakfast. As always on a free Saturday, he would make pancakes.
Emily woke up to the smell of pancakes. The fanfiction long forgot she woke up Jack.
"Hey baby, daddy made breakfast." She said.
Jack immediately awoke and stormed into the kitchen to greet his daddy.
Emily got up and together they enjoyed breakfast.
xxxx
"I'll check the opening hours for the water park," Hotch told his wife as he made his way over to the laptop.
"Sure honey!" She said.
She was cleaning up breakfast with Jack. They agreed to go out and do something and Jack proposed the new water park in Washington. All agreed and Hotch was looking for directions and opening hours.
He sat himself down and opened the laptop. It already was on and he just had to re-type their password. The laptop accepted the password and presented the desktop as it was in the morning.
Hotch shook his head. "You two are the senior agents on this team. I expect behavior that shows it when you are in this building, am I clear? Especially when Strauss us here."
"It was a few harmless pranks!" Morgan told him.
"EMILY!" He yelled, scaring her. They never spoke like that with each other.
"Yes Aaron?" She asked, wondering what was wrong.
"What is this?" He asked pointing at the laptop display.
"It was in our spam box. I just wanted to check it out. I'm sorry." She apologized.
She didn't mean to shock him like that.
"Honey, it's okay. I shouldn't have yelled like that. It's scary to read these but this one's quite funny." He apologized taking her into his arms.
Now when she looked into his face, she could see the smile she loves. With dimples. He rarely smiled but always when she or Jack was there he would smile more often.
"Don't tell me you want to finish that?" she asked in disbelief.
She suspected him the last to be reading those things. They had the same taste in books. Both of them had read the same book from Vonnegut.
"Come on Em, it can't hurt." He almost begged.
She had to laugh but knew she couldn't say no. Not to him. So after checking on Jack, she sat on his lap. She didn't want Jack to read these. They couldn't know the possible danger of it.
Together they started to read.
"A few harmless pranks?" Hotch asked. "You superglued Reid's desk drawers shut, you replaced Rossi's range weapon with a water pistol, JJ's chair is now in four pieces, and we all know one of you has the screws, and I don't know which of you did it, I'm assuming both of you, put food colouring in the bathroom soap dispensers." He listed, holding up his bright green hands for them to see.
Alone the last sentence cracked her up and Emily had to laugh uncontrollably. Aaron had to hold her, so she didn't fall onto the floor. After one or two minutes she controlled herself and continued to read.
Morgan and Prentiss both burst out laughing when they saw his green hands.
Hotch found this less funny. "You turned half the agents on this floor green!"
Now Hotch was laughing.
Exactly, the stoic Unit Chief Aaron Hotchner was laughing. She loved when he let loose. So instead of concentrating on the laptop display and the fanfiction, she studied his face with love. He stopped laughing and looked at her. He gave her a kiss and started to read the next paragraph.
Prentiss bit her lip. "Come on Hotch, it0s funny. And it's only food colouring, it comes off." She said.
Hotch sighed and sat down in his chair. "You know I have to punish you, right?"
The both noded.
"You'll both help Reid get his drawers open, one of you will put JJ's char back together, and the other one that doesn't do the chair will go to custodial and change all the soap dispensers on the floor. Is that understood?" Hotch asked.
"They do know a lot about us right?" She asked him.
"They like hit the character's personality perfectly."
"Indeed, they do. If this would have been true I don't want to know what else you could do." He replied.
"This was chapter two. I've got the feeling there will be more in these chapters. Want to check out the water park Jack mentioned?" she asked.
She for sure wanted to read more after this chapter but she had to stop for now because Jack was way more important than this fanfiction.
"Sure. Look, it'll be open till six and there are a lot of fun slides." He said as he looked at the website. Emily had to say it looked like it would be a lot of fun.
"I'll get Jack ready, you want to invite the others? Reading the fanfictions tonight? They have a right to know." She said and he nodded.
She stood up and made her way upstairs to Jack's room.
"Jack-Jack, are you ready for the water park?" she asked, even if she already knew the answer.
He happily jumped up. He really was looking forward to spending the day with his Mom and Dad.
"Yep. Can I get the new swim trunks?" He asked hopefully. It was a green one with his favorite Ninja Turtle on it.
"Sure, are you going to get them and a towel for you?" she asked him while getting his swimming bag ready.
After they had his bag ready, she told him to go down to Daddy while she would be packing their bag.
After twenty more minutes, the little family of three sat in Hotch's SUV leaving their driveway.
"Are they coming?" Emily asked her husband.
"Yeah, but you know Rossi. He invited us all to his mansion at eight." He said with a slight grin.
Their one and only author David Rossi. They really often had team gatherings at his mansion.
"Okay, I'll print the pages once we are back home. Jack, we're going to Uncle Dave's tonight. That's okay?" she asked him and got a gleeful answer back.
"You plan on staying at the park till six?" Aaron asked his wife and she agreed.
This day was planned for the family and will be spent as a family.
All three of the Hotchners had a blast at the water park. Jack behaved well so they also got some ice-cream.
As soon as they got home Hotch took a shower while Emily began printing the other six chapters of the fanfiction. She only printed it one time. Everyone besides Emily and Hotch would get one chapter to read and then they have to tell the summary.
Jack rang Dave's doorbell punctually at eight. The others already arrived.
After some small talk, Jack left with Henry to the living-room to play. Meanwhile, the team was around the kitchen counter watching how Dave was doing his famous Italian pasta.
"Isn't Monday soon enough to see us again?" Morgan sarcastically asked.
On his left sat Will and, on his right, sat Emily.
"Yeah. We've got a spam mail and Emily thought it would be a good idea to go on there." Hotch said.
Emily knew he meant funny, even if he didn't show.
"We will look into it after dinner," Emily said while taking a sip from her vine.
They enjoyed dinner walking with each other about various things. After they cleaned the table Emily got her handbag and took out the chapters of the fanfiction.
"So, ladies and gentlemen may I present to you, fanfiction." She said with the moderator's voice. She was clearly buzzed.
The others chuckled. They have gotten a mug of coffee and the two little boys were in the living room playing. Dinners like these allowed them to stay up past their normal bedtime.
"What did you say?" Morgan asked, not hearing quite right he thought.
"FanFiction" she repeated as Reid chirped in.
"Fiction is not real and a fan is when you like something really much. So, fanfiction is for the fans. Writing stories that they thought could happen. About books, TV Shows and so on." He explained earning stares from Dave and Morgan.
"Why are you showing us these?" Dave asked, shocked. He would be getting the shock of his life.
"Because I found our names in it." She said and Hotch explained further.
"Em and I read the first half. We will read the other half out loud." Hotch said.
While listening to Hotch reading the summary they all looked frightened and interested. They never thought someone would write anything about them.
After everyone finished reading Emily started with the summary of the beginning "The first part is Hotch scolding Morgan and me for playing a few pranks, like putting food coloring into the soap dispenser."
Garcia and JJ giggled, while Will had a small smile on his face. This would definitely be something both Emily and Derek would do.
"This is the last part," Hotch said, before starting to read.
Morgan and Prentiss nodded. "Yes sir." They said in unison.
Hotch nodded. "Get to it." He said, pointing toward the door.
Morgen and Prentiss stood up and began to walk toward the door.
"Agents." Hotch called after them.
They turned around.
"The water pistol was great. Rossi's face was priceless." Hotch told them, smiling.
Morgan looked up at Prentiss, surprised, before rushing her out of the office.
As soon as the door shut behind them, Hotch could hear Morgan and Prentiss burst into laughter again, and he let himself have a few moments of laughter before reaching across his desk, laughing a bit harder when is green fingers wrapped around his pen.
"This one was a good one!" Will said after they calmed down enough.
"We have to do something like this again. It wasn't the only one on there?" He asked towards the Hotchners.
"There are enough. That's a genius idea Will. We have to do this like every month or so." Emily said looking around with questioning eyes.
After a round of discussion, they agreed to do it every fortnight. They agreed to do it no matter what.
A bonding strategy. Whether it would be on a case or at home. They would rotate with who is presenting it. Rossi said he would start, if they were at home they would meet at his mansion. If on a case, they had to look when they would do it.
Afterward, they finished their night with Rossi's famous gelato, before heading home to spend their weekend separately.
Rossi finished cleaning his kitchen, as he would head over to his girlfriend and spend the weekend with her.
Next: Rossi revealing his girlfriend. Will it be a surprise?
Authors note: I am not sure about the layout and the spacing in between? Any ideas for improvement?
