It's been a while since I posted the Prologue here, so before continuing here, you might want to check out the first chapter.

This whole fanfiction was written in 2016 and I did not change anything, just the bad English I had back then.

Last but not least, this is not to make fun of anyone! I found the fanfics I read and included as very well written and really inspiring.

Chapter One

Author: Shadowwriter1636
Story: Days like these

15th March 2019

Two weeks have passed, and they recently came back from a case. Their second one in a row. Every one of them disliked back-to-back cases but they couldn't change it.

A week ago, Rossi started to plan this fanfiction night. He had asked his girlfriend if she was okay with them going "public" with their relationship.

Flashback

"I'm home," Rossi said as he entered the house of his girlfriend of two years.

"Hi, Babe. How was dinner?" She asked as Rossi entered her bedroom.

She hoped that one day she could be a part of this family, despite not being the favorite people of the team.

"Good, we are doing this now every two weeks because Aaron and Emily found something called fanfiction. That's why I want to ask you if it is alright when we open up about our relationship?" He told her.

Facing the wall, he tilted his head to look at her. All he saw was a pure look of horror.

"What, why?" she asked.

"Because I love you and I would like you to be a part of this." He explained and her expression changed from frightened to relieved.

"What if they still don't like me?" she asked with anxiety.

This was the elite team of the FBI and they called her the ice queen.

"It'll be okay Erin. The feelings changed, you changed!" He reassured her.

The next day, after some thinking, she agreed. She didn't want to hide their relationship any longer.

Flashback end

A couple of days later he began to search the website for stories about Erin and him. He wasn't as gifted with technical knowledge as Garcia, so it took him a while to find the filter function. Which then made it a lot easier to find a story. Because he wasn't that keen on looking through 31.1k fanfictions.

The rest of the week he hadn't had a spare minute to look into it again with all their cases, so on the flight back home from LA, he browsed on his tablet. Luckily, he sat beside Aaron who did his paperwork thus he couldn't spoil anyone.

After setting the filters he read through the pages. A story named Days like these caught his attention and after reaching the summary; "Can we concentrate on enjoying this beautiful Saturday and each other?" he was sure this would be a good one. So by clicking on the link he opened the story to read the first paragraph.

"Would you like some company or do you want to be left alone?"

"I always want your company." He answered scooting over so she could lie in the hammock beside him scooting into the space beside him.

Kissing the side of her neck, "I know, Erin. I'm not mad or upset. We had it coming. Now can we concentrate on enjoying this beautiful Saturday and each other?"

.

"You didn't feel that way yesterday."

"That was yesterday, I left it at Quantico. I try not to bring the stress and problems of the BAU, Strauss-Rossi and Rossi into the world of Erin and Dave."

"You know I was just doing my job?" She asked

This really did sound promising. Rossi read another part.

"I don't know to both questions. I don't really care. We have so few days where we can just be." Erin answered snuggling closer to him. "Do you have any idea how nice this feels to cuddle in this hammock with you, reading when I want, sleeping when I want, kissing you when I want? Do you have any idea how much I love times like these?"

His eyes scanned the text. This was written peacefully and sweet and passionate. This author really did feel their connection and Dave knew this was the fanfiction he wanted to present to the team, with Erin by his side.

He printed the page and read it through marking the best parts.

After five they landed in Virginia and at seven all of them were at the address Rossi gave them. It was a house they didn't know so the first ones waited outside.

"Doesn't this look like Strauss's car?" Morgan asked as he arrived with Garcia.

"Yes, it is, the plate fits with her car at work," Reid answered using his eidetic memory.

"Where the hell do you know her plate number from?" JJ asked, still astonished about his knowledge and eidetic memory.

"Garcia had to run her plate number after she went missing. I still remember the number." He explained, luckily the Hotchners arrived then.

All of them walked towards the front porch, Hotch the one knocking on the door. To everyone's surprise Chief Strauss opened and welcomed them in.

"Erin," he said whilst shaking her hand.

Afterward, came Emily with Jack in her arms. Then Will with Henry in his arms and JJ. The last were Reid, Morgan, and Garcia. Half of them were slightly awkward.

Garcia greeted her with "Section Chief Strauss." Erin was laughing slightly.

"Please, we are off work. You can call me Erin." She said leading them to their dining room, still somewhat nervous.

After some talking, all of them warmed up. But the team was still a little bit cautious around her.

Dinner was mostly a silent affair. Just thanking Erin for this delicious meal.

After dinner was cleaned up and coffee served Emily asked for a play possibility for both Henry and Jack.

"Is it possible for Jack and Henry to play somewhere?"

"Maybe my youngest wants to play with them if this is alright?" Erin amicably asked and after a nod from both JJ and Emily she called him down.

He was happy to play with someone, even if they were a few years younger. For another hour they talked and laughed accepting Erin more and more into their little family. At around ten Dave stood up and took the printed page sitting down again.

"I told Erin everything and she also read this fanfiction. It's about Erin and I spending Saturday together. For me, this part was one of the sweetest."

"Great." The teenager said making a run for the pool.

Erin and Dave stayed in each other's arms a while longer listening to the teenagers. They heard Amanda say, "Jess, your mom and dad are so cute and it's great the way they love each other."

"Dave's not her dad." Jeremy commented.

"Shut up Jeremy!" Amy said giving him a look.

Jessie glanced at her friends then at Dave and Erin. "Biologically he's not my dad, but it doesn't bother me if you call him my dad, he's our bonus dad, we love him and he loves us. I don't know about mom and Dave being cute, but they've loved one another for a long time."

"This writer has a common sense for feelings and for things that happen. He or she has a great imagination and impressive writing skills." He said his thoughts and all of them had to agree.

This story brought the team to the same closure. They could warm up to them together and in Love.

"This was one of my favorite paragraphs;

"For loving me and loving my children. For today, it was just what I needed." She said playing with the fingers on the hand she was holding.

Kissing her one more time, "It was my pleasure; I don't think I've felt this relaxed in…well maybe never." Dave winked at her then walked toward the house.

Erin stayed there a while longer, before sitting up. Sam yelled, "Mrs. Rossi, watch this," as he did a cannonball into the deep end. Everyone laughed.

"I can't tell you if you should like me or not, but I think this author put a good side of my life. I still hope we can overcome our differences." Erin said and again they had to say the same.

That this site of Erin was much friendlier than she normally was and maybe this writer was honest about his statement.

Only time would tell.

After this, they talked about their relationship. Dave told them how they got together, and Garcia asked if they already were together as she and Reid went to this Fantasy convention. Seeing Dave leaving the hotel and five minutes later watching her leaving with a taxi. Erin had to laugh and answer with yes. Back then it was more or less an affair her children not knowing about this.

At 30 past eleven, they left one after another inviting Erin to join them the next time at JJ's and Will's house.

She could say this evening was successful.

Next: JJ and Will have an announcement.
