Frisk was in a good mood, it had been a while since they had got to see Undyne and Alphys in person. As soon as Asgore opened the door, a blue hurricane picked them up and lifted them up in the air.

"What are you up to punk ?" She spun them around a couple times before letting them go. Frisk felt a little dizzy, but they gave Undyne a enthusiastic greeting. While Asgore and Undyne caught up with each other, Frisk noticed a yellow lizard still in her pajamas in the other room.

As soon as she made eye contact with Frisk, Alphys ran away to her room, probably to get dressed properly. Had she forgotten that they were coming ?

In any case, they heard the floor cracking slightly as Asgore walked into the residence. Frisk removed their shoes and checked the living room.

Somehow it had gotten even crazier since the last time they went here. About half of the space on the walls was covered by all sorts of weapons from spears to swords to nunchucks or axes of various sizes, there was even a baseball bat in the shape of a small white dog somehow. As for the other half of the room, well lets just say that the pair probably spent most of their salary to buy super expensive anime posters, figurines and other type of merch.

Frisk had to spend a whole 5 seconds before being able to see what color the walls were (they were blue) as pretty much the entire surface was occupied by some sort of overly massive weapon or a giant poster of some classic anime from last decade.

Even if Undyne now knew as well that anime wasn't real just like Alphys did, it had not stopped her from enjoying it in the slightest. Besides, if anime was about strange creatures with incredible magic powers and crazy supernatural stuff in general, then maybe anime was actually sort of real in the end wasn't it ? Between monsters as a whole and their SAVE power, didn't they pretty much have that already ?

Alphys finally came out of her room, wearing that same dress she wore during the 'date' in the underground. Unsurprisingly she didn't give them as aggressive of a welcome as Undyne had.

Remember that time when Undyne threw her straight into the trash can ? Chara asked them, having been reminded of that date as well after seeing Alphys' dress.

Of course they did, that was so unexpected. They would have surely laughed at it back then if they hadn't been too concerned for Alphys to find amusement in it at the time.

So this is what they meant by 'anime trash'. Chara joked.

Frisk was caught off guard and giggled, thankfully no one paid attention to it.

The human checked the time, it was near 8PM. They would probably start dinner sometimes soon.

Wait…

Oh no…

How did they manage to forget to take this into account ?

A dinner with Undyne and Alphys, there was no possible way that this wouldn't go wrong one way or another.

If Undyne ended up being the one doing the cooking… Well if Frisk's experience was still accurate, the firefighters probably had a special team specifically to take care of this specific house by now.

If it was Alphys, well as much as she wouldn't burn the house down, it was pretty much guaranteed that she would serve noodles or soda or something along these lines, her entire fridge was full of those in the underground.

It wouldn't be that bad in itself but Frisk didn't like either of those things. Noodles were like pasta thrown into warm water, they couldn't understand why so many people liked them. It was edible with a flavor packet, but even then it wasn't very good.

They are better dry.

Whatever Chara said, they didn't plan on trying it again anyways.

As for soda… Its just straight up gross ! How do people even drink this stuff ?

I'll agree with you on this one, that sticky yellow liquid stuff sucks.

"Maybe Alphys just likes that stuff because she's obsessed with human culture and not for its actual taste ?" Frisk thoulked.

Sometimes people just have different tastes Frisk. Not everyone likes eating healthy.

"I do." They mentally responded as a counterpoint.

Well I don't either, you're outnumbered.

"Wow really ? I'd have never guessed. Not like you had ever asked me to eat sweets before." They sarcastically stated.

They almost added something about buttercups not being very healthy either but they changed their mind at the last moment and blocked Chara from reading their thoughts so that they wouldn't learn about this. It wouldn't be a good idea to bring this up, not even as a joke. Especially not right now as Chara was in a good mood, they would have ruined it if they had said that.

Frisk and Chara's inner conversation was interrupted when Asgore asked them a question, unfortunately they weren't listening and ended up awkwardly turning to face him trying to find out what he had just asked them.

"Frisk ?" The king insisted as he noticed the human child wasn't responding.

"Well if they have no idea how about I come up with something ?" Undyne proposed, Asgore was about to try and convince her not to do so when Chara finally caught up to what they had missed.

I think he just asked you about what you wanted to eat. You should answer. Fast.

Chara was right, if they hadn't prepared something in advance it was still time to get them to make something else.

They had to improvise, quickly, they only had a couple seconds.

"Humm… Can we order japanese food ?" They proposed, they knew that Undyne and Alphys would be perfectly fine with this and Asgore surely wouldn't object against it. At least by ordering something Frisk knew that they could get something they actually liked.

You probably should not order sushi. Chara added as Frisk looked at Undyne's reaction to their proposal.

Frisk had to hold back laughter again. However this time, everyone was still looking at them. Whoops.

"Damn it Chara, that was not the time." They thoulked.

Its always the time to make jokes.

"Always except when everyone's looking at me, we've had this discussion before countless times already. I don't want everyone to think im a weird kid who keeps laughing for no reason all the time. Can you at least ask or give me a warning before doing that ?"

You are no fun.

"And you are too much of it."

I'll take it as a compliment.

While Undyne was busy ordering the food, Alphys walked up to them nervously and gave them a sign she wanted them to follow her. They agreed to follow Alphys to the next room.

"S-so hum.." She kept tapping the fingers of her hands against each other.

"Remember back in the underground when i asked you if you wanted to watch Mew Mew Kissie Cutie with me sometimes ?" She asked very fast, yet didn't run out of breath. "If you want i have it right here in my room. I can go find it !" She still wore a nervous smile.

"I totally said yes to that when she asked didn't i ?" Frisk thoulked to Chara.

You did.

"I had totally forgotten about this. Well i can't say no to it now right ? Is that show good ?" They told Chara.

Its not the greatest of all masterpieces but its fairly good yes.

"Sure thing" Frisk answered to Alphys, who squealed in excitement in return.

She ran across the whole house and back, bringing back with her CD copies for the entirety of season one.

"Weren't there two season ?" Frisk asked, being fairly sure to have heard her talk about Mew Mew Kissie Cuite 2 at some point.

"That one is trash. The original is the only one that's worth watching. The second season completely ruins all the character development that took place in the first one, they changed the whole premise of the show and destroyed its spirit. The only thing it gave in exchange were some shiny graphics but what good does that do when the story is garbage ? Just stick to the classics." Alphys was suddenly not stuttering anymore and sounded extremely serious about the whole thing. Now that she was talking about something was very passionate about, her confidence had apparently quadrupled.

WHAT ? The second one is much better than the first one ! The story of the first one was decent but it was just way too cliché and predictable. You could see everything coming in advance. As for the graphics, the original might have been fine at the time but nowadays its just unwatchable. Alphys needs to take off her nostalgia goggles.

"Oh no…" Frisk thought.

What was that ? Chara questioned them, having heard their thoughts.

"Nothing." They answered.

Can you tell Alphys that she's wrong about Mew Mew Kissie Cutie 2 ? Im not gonna be able to bear it otherwise if she keeps being so confidently incorrect.

"Are you insane ? Have you seen her ? She's going to kill me if i do that ! I haven't even seen either of the seasons anyways so i can't even judge." They thoulked.

Well then you can choose between getting killed by Alphys or by me. Chara responded.

Obviously Frisk could feel that Chara didn't actually mean any of that. They were just joking. What was true however was that Chara could theoretically kill them at pretty much anytime if they wanted. They could just take control of their body for a few moments and well... Obviously Chara would never do that though.

I would die with you anyways and you would just LOAD immediately to bring us both back. It would be completely useless.

They wanted to apologise for having had that thought about Chara in the first place but before they could, Chara told them it was fine.

To go back to the main subject though, the last thing Frisk wanted was to end up having to serve as a mediator so that Chara and Alphys could argue about anime through them. Couldn't they find a way to work this out ?

As long as you don't take her word for it and give the second one the chance it deserves, im fine.

"You want me to watch the second one as well ?"

Only fair if you're going to watch the old one to at least try the one that's actually good. If Alphys could heard Chara, she would currently be writing a 50 page essay on why they were wrong. Luckily Frisk was still the only who could along with a few other ghosts.

...Were they really going to have to watch even more of this stuff in order to satisfy Chara ? After a bit of thinking Frisk finally gave an answer.

"Alright, fine. Don't expect me to do it soon though, that'll have to wait some time." Frisk accepted but imposed their condition. Chara was fine with it.

For someone who didn't even really watch anime, Frisk really needed to stop promising to people that they would watch anime with them to give it a chance.

When a knock was heard on the door, Undyne dashed out to pick up the food while Alphys was still trying to find how to insert old CD's in a modern TV to play the first episode while they were eating.

The two of them made it at the same time. The very moment Undyne came home carrying the food was the moment an overly loud anime opening began resonating through the whole house to the point where Frisk feared one of the giants axes on the fall might risk to fall from its position due to vibrations and cut them in half.

You are really paranoid. Chara commented on Frisk's most recent thought.

"Dying dozens of times does that to you." They thoulked as an answer. Honestly they probably could have gotten away with straight up saying it out loud as the anime opening was so loud that no one would have understood what Frisk said anyways.

"Oh ! Is that this 'anime' you've told me about ?" Asgore wondered as Undyne put everything on the table and started dancing to the opening theme. Alphys gave him a nod as an answer.

"It does seem pretty entertaining." The king admitted.

It sure is.

...What did Frisk get themself into today ?

They were surrounded by weebs from all sides.
