Chapter 9 – I Choose You!
Gardenia stared blankly at the fallen Breloom.
As a grass-type specialist, she knows a lot about the habits and combat abilities of the Breloom species.
However, the opponent's strategy still caught Gardenia by surprise.
"Using the Toxic Orb to trigger the Poison Heal ability of Breloom?" The Gardenia murmured.
"What a bold idea!"
In reality, it wasn't as if no one has proposed using the Poison Heal ability of Breloom as a strategy, but those were usually more of passive strategies more than anything.
The poisonous properties of the Toxic Orb can cause a great burden on Pokémon and can't be fully absorbed even by the 'Poison Heal' ability.
Therefore, grass-type trainers generally choose Brelooms with the 'Technician' ability, which can enchance its melee combat abilities in addition to its continuous battling abilities.
But, the strategy of "Rikuno-sensei" opened up a new perspective for Gardenia.
"But, what if I use the life-steal-effect of leech seed to counteract the toxicity of the Toxic Orb?"
Gardenia plays this strategy out in her mind and her ideas began to swirl.
"Then use Substitution to neutralize the poisoning effect on the Pokémon, and Poison Heal can completely absorb all the toxicity from the Toxic Orb!"
"Leech Seed, Toxic, Toxic Orbs, Substitution... What a bold way to train your Pokémon! "
A look of realization appeared on Gardenia's face, "This strategy can be fully utilized in reality!"
For a while, Gardenia was breathing heavily and she clicked on the home page of 'Rikuno-sensei' to find out more.
"Highest Ranking overall... Seventh in the world!?"
The Gardenia's eyes widened.
Briefly she glanced at the group chat she just joined, and her expression changed slightly.
"Mr. Re…Red is in here too!"
"And Champion Blue!"
"Even they are fans of Rikuno-sensei!?"
Gardenia was a little stunned and murmured, "If he's such a famous grass-type specialist, Ms. Erika should recognise him, right?"
"I don't know if I can ask him for advice... regarding this year's typing specialist tournament?"
As a Pokéball opens and red light flashes.
Gardenia looked at her other Breloom with the 'Poison Heal' ability, and began to carefully recall details of that battle.
"So he wasn't trying to taunt me, it was just the 'Posion Heal' strategy's tactics..."
Gardenia's eyes became determined, and she tightened her grip on the Pokéball.
"I still need to work harder!"
After the stream, the number of subscribers of the Rikuno reached 70 thousand.
In just one night, Rikuno received nearly $300 worth of presents.
Although the specific amount he would receive will be calculated separately, it is enough for Rikuno to treat himself.
Taking a can of iced Cola from the mini refrigerator, Rikuno opened it with a "pop" and lazily leaned back on the gaming chair.
"System, check my remaining BP points!"
【BP points: 970】
Due to that excellent session, Rikuno's BP points rose by nearly 200, it wouldn't be long before he could make another 10 rolls.
Back in the apartment room, Gastly was still floating as he intently read the training manual, studying it carefully.
Like a strict teacher, Gastly Stared at the document with a serious look, and its small claw formed by the black mist that held an orange fruit.
"Gas!"
As if reading something enlightening, Gastly nodded in satisfaction and took a bite of the orange fruit as its the juice flowed out.
Rikuno couldn't help but get a strange feeling.
Using an academic paper as seasoning for food!
Hearing movement, the black mist reformed slowly.
Gastly turned back in surprise and immediately grinned happily, he stuck out his tongue and licked at Rikuno.
"Gastly ~!"
Rikuno tried to pat Gastly's head but instead, found that his hand had passed through the black mist and a cold and paralyzing feeling enshrouded his hand.
Suddenly, the system's voice emotionlessly echoed in Rikuno's ears.
[Gastly, gas-like beings, even elephants will faint with in 10 minutes if surrounded by their gas.]
Rikuno's expression changed slightly: "And you didn't think to say that earlier?"
Fortunately, Gastly liked Rikuno's touch, so he consciously controlled the toxin in the gas, then turned into a cloud of mist circling back and forth around Rikuno's palm.
Rikuno breathed a sigh of relief and smiled, "Do you want some supper?"
Ghost Stared at a pair of bludging eyes and blinked.
Ghost: (⊙ ⊙)
"Here, take the phone and order it yourself."
Rikuno handed the phone to Gastly and took the document wet with saliva from him along the way.
Glancing at the document, Rikuno was surprised, "You even made notes!?"
"Gas!" Ghost held the phone in his mouth and raised his head triumphantly.
Right before the stream, Rikuno had half-jokingly asked Gastly to mark out the different uses of Confuse Ray.
It had only been two hours and the manual was full of wet, sticky underlines of saliva, all of which Gastly used to make his own annotations!
"You my friend are an absolute genius!"
"Gasss ~~ ( ̄︶ ̄)"
Rikuno didn't really put this in mind though as he put the training manual back in place and said with some mirth.
"Stop that stupid smirk, go order your takeout!"
Training moves is never an overnight affair.
Mastering "Confuse Ray" in two hours is obviously whimsical thought.
Fortunately, Rikuno does not have high requirements for Gastly, but mainly it was to save some electricity bills...
"Gas!"
Gastly carefully placed the phone on the table, staring at the scrumptious delicacies on the app with his eyes shining and swallowing his saliva.
But it couldn't help but to look like a "Chikan", as it stuck out its long tongue and licked the scallion duck in the page.
Ghost: ( ̄ 『 ̄)
"Scallion duck... I just had that, let's have a change of tastes shall we."
Rikuno rubbed his chin, "How about barbecue? The lamb kebabs in this store seem to be quite good."
Ghost: (* ω *)
Gastly's eyes lit up in agreement.
"Spicy, New Orleans, cold beer... and order!"
Half an hour later, Rikuno set a table by the window.
In the evening breeze, the fragrant of barbecue on the table made people hungry.
Gastly was drinking Moomoo Milk, his face was red because of the spice, but he was still frantically licking the skewers.
"Eat slowly, no one's taking that from you!"
"Gasss!"
Although it was a creature made of unknown gas, after finishing that meal, the black mist around the ghost was obviously denser.
Speaking of which.
The skewers taste good, maybe its Wooloo meat...
Taking a sip of the cool ice beer, Rikuno smiled, "By the way, how did you end up here?"
"I read on the internet that Gastly's habitats aren't usually in a city."
Gastly's movements stopped as he leaned his head back and was silent for a moment, and then he stuffed his face with the lamb skewers.
"Don't want to say?"
Rikuno gently poked at the black mist around the ghost and smiled.
"It doesn't matter, we'll be family from now on."
The evening breeze blew by, and Gastly suddenly raised his head—
His eyes became slightly wet, as if he was very moved.
"Gas Gas~ \(´﹏`)\"
"Don't wipe your nose on my clothes! No, stop! "
Almost wrapped in Gastly and experiencing a "suffocating elephant", Rikuno luckily escaped.
He took the suspicious blue drink [Speed Enhancer (Enhanced Version)] from the cupboard for Gastly's breakfast tomorrow.
Rikuno settled Gastly on the ceiling for his rest.
You have to admit that opening your eyes to a smirking ghost, made Rikuno feel quite at ease for his safety.
"Turn off the lights, Gastly."
"Gas!"
With Rikuno's instructions, Gastly cut off the power to the room.
But even Rikuno didn't notice that after he fell asleep, the ghost slowly lit up with a faint fluorescence around him, circling back and forth like fireworks.
This is exactly what Rikuno asked Gastly to master in the morning—
"Confuse Ray"!
