THE DREAM

HERRY/JAY

DISCLAIMER: Don't own them, never will, but I can still play…right?

Lowering the casket into the ground, the tombstone reads a name, of someone younger then they should be.

Woodenly walking up to the hole, holding a single red carnation, his favourite flower, while everyone else has roses.

Throw the carnation down into the hole on top of the casket.

Walk away, let your legs wander, over to where the widow is. She holds a red rose, shows how well she knew him.

Control your anger towards her, how it should have been you, not her he held every night.

Say your sorry, for what you don't know, she was the one behind the wheel, right before the accident, she should be apologizing, but she probably is, silently.

Walk away from her, before you do something foolish, everyone is there. All married, they all said he'd be the first to get married. He still isn't.

Theresa walks up and gives you a hug, but it doesn't help.

Archie shakes your hand, and pats you on the back. He feels wooden.

Neil says he's sorry, but you can't hear him over the screaming in your head.

Odie gives you a hug, but you cant move your arms to return it.

Atlanta walks up, says she sorry about Herry, and you cant take it, a sob escapes.

Crying you walk up to the grave and kneel down before the fresh dirt. You feel like you want to die, your insides have been a switched around, and your head is going to explode, if your heart doesn't explode first.

"Jay" If you didn't know any better, then you would think it was him calling you from beyond the grave "Jay, Jay, wake up"

The voice is more urgent now, and you feel heavy weights on your arms, and a strange warmth all around your body "Jay!"

Snapping your eyes open, Herry is leaning over you, you're in your room. Lifting a hand you touch his face, slight stubble under your hand. He's alive.

"Jay, are you ok, I heard you from my room." He looks concerned. But you cant take it anymore, you wont let the dream come true. Pulling him down on top of you, your mouth captures his. He freezes, then opens his mouth slightly. Slipping your tongue in, you explore his mouth, as he explores yours.

He pulls away slightly a while later, you're both panting.

"I take it, that means you're ok?" He asks smiling

You nod and pull him down beside you, curling up against him, relishing the warmth. You know you're going to have to tell him the dream in the morning, and you're both going to need to talk about the kiss, but for the moment that can wait, while, you just be. Slipping quietly into sleep, curled up with Herry, you know you'll never have that dream again.
