Author's note: So Naruto moves on to round 3, and Orochimaru is making a calculated retreat, but he isn't quitting. The matches for the rest of this round will go as followed: Shikamaru vs Tenten, Obi vs. Shino, and then the finals. I hope you guys enjoy what is to come.
"What the hell is taking so long? The signal should have come by now, if we wait too much longer we will get caught!" a sand nin said to his comrade as the squad waited around. A lot of nin had been raising concerns over the coms and no one knew what was going on. The attack should have started an hour ago with Orochimaru's attack and nothing ever happened.
Everyone was worried the Snake Sannin and his forcers are the only thing that will be able to let them win this attack, and with the snake MIA, people were starting to get worried. It was time for something to happen, this was the pivotal point.
"Should we retreat? It's clear now Orochimaru used us and is most likely planning on us getting caught in order to destroy us and the leaf after a war starts. No way can we get out of one with our army here hidden ready to attack them. It's safer to retreat now and give up on this crusade. Including that the Kazekage has gone silent, something most likely has happened. I'm sorry sir but we need to to retreat while there's still time" a Nin said to his commanding officer. Someone finally said what everyone was thinking.
Said officer clenched his fist and punched a tree, hard. "You're right, as much as I hate to say it.." the ninja sighed before turning on his com, "Everyone this is your officer in charge, Kuren Gotomaski. Everyone needs to quietly retreat, leave no proof of being here we were double crossed by the snake. Head back before it's too late" Kuren said before he gave his squad the signal to retreat. Kuren was secretly relieved about this, he had no quarrels with Konoha and was glad that they were retreating. He would take any punishment the Kazekage gave him, but he wouldn't send his men and army to a lost battle, alone they could never hope to beat Konoha.
"HAJIME!" the protector screamed as he disappeared from the field. The exams were continuing as normal, and Shikamaru and Tenten were facing each other.
"All I have to do is avoid your shadow and you will never beat me" Tenten said with a smirk.
"Why is it always a girl? Why Kami, why do you make me fight women all the time they are so troublesome. Ugh" Shikamaru groaned out as he got ready for the fight. "And isn't that exactly what the other sand chick said earlier? Avoid my shadow all you want but if you can't out think me you'll lose" Shikamaru stated. "A battle is won by intellect not always strength unless you're Naruto he's the exception."
"You're going to soon learn Naruto isn't the only exception" Tenten said before ripping out a scroll and shooting out about a hundred kunai towards the boy. Shikamaru cursed he should have known that was coming, he quickly rolled out of the way just to see more Shuriken and other weapons that he didn't know what were, were coming at him.
Shikamaru quickly took cover behind the only thing he could. The lone tree in the arena, he didn't have much time to plan anything out. He could try using the weapons laying on the field to get to her with his shadow but with how fast she could let out weapons it most likely wouldn't work. It was now that Shikamaru wished he had started learning Nature Manipulation with earth, but he didn't think he would need it. The boy groaned as he wished he had taken the time instead of being lazy, maybe he could quit now, he had made it this far.
"SHIKAMARU I SWEAR TO GOD IF YOU GIVE UP WITHOUT A FIGHT IMA KICK YOUR ASS!" Ino screamed from the balcony.
"Ugh, it's like the hag can read my mind" Shikamaru sighed before he quickly moved out of the way of another attack. Tenten now had a sword out and was up close and personal.
"You wanna hide Nara, than I'll bring the fight to you I'm not gonna let you waste anymore time!" Tenten said as she started swiping at the boy with a katana in hand. Shikamaru kept accurately dodging the swipes before taking out two kunai to fight back. He may not be a strong hand to hand fighter but he still could fight nonetheless. Tenten quickly struck down and Shikamaru tried to stop the attack with his kunai but severely underestimated the girls strength, she didn't look it but she was strong as hell. Given who her teammates were though, it shouldn't have surprised him so much. Now he was really in for a lot, he wasn't sure if he'd be able to beat her at all. He had no ranged techniques and up close she was stronger than he. If he couldn't come up with a plan quick he'd lose.
Shikamaru did all he could to dodge but it was hard for him, he quickly threw his last smoke bomb and used the distraction to hide by transforming into a rock so he could think. He knew it was dangerous being a rock because if she stepped on him, well it wouldn't be good. He quickly put his mind to good use thinking of what would be best to do. He carefully judged what he had, 6 kuani left, 2 shuriken, some ninja wire. His chakra reserves weren't fairing so well either. Shikamaru let out one last sigh as he knew what he needed to do.
Shikamaru quickly dropped the transformation and through his last kunai, his ninja wire attached to all the kunai, Tenten smirked as she easily dodged the kunai that planted in the ground seemingly randomly around her. He quickly threw the last of his shuriken also to serve as a distraction before activating his famous jutsu. Tenten quickly got out of the way of the shadow that was following her. She went to what she had remembered was the edge of his jutsu but quickly freaked out when she saw it wasn't slowing down, but it was to late.
"Shadow possession jutsu complete" Shikamaru said before sighing in relief that it worked.
"What happened?" Tenten was in complete shock she knew she was far enough away.
Shikamaru started to move, Tenten following his movements, "You see these kunai all had ninja wire attached to it, which creates a shadow still, so while you thought I was going for one more all out attack you were wrong. I used the kunai as a distraction to wire the ninja wire that was quickly being spread all over that way when I attacked my shadow would move faster and further than what you had thought I could do. That and you being sent to a standstill even for a moment from shock is what had you beat." Shikamaru walked up to Tenten until they were right by each other, the protector was down on the ground, knowing these were the final moments. "Anyways I forfeit" Shikamaru said casually, meanwhile Ino was screaming her head off.
"W-what?!" Tenten was flabbergasted by this statement, "What the fuck do you mean you forfeit?! You had the win!" She said, the protector held off wanting to hear Shikamaru's statement also.
"I won the battle but I could not win the war, I'm practically out of chakra, I have no more tools to support me and backup is not an option I have. So I forfeit, if I continued on I would lose anyway in the next round before it could even start." With that the jutsu was released due to Shikamaru not having the chakra to sustain it any longer. Shikamaru fell to one knee breathing a little heavy, putting up his hand to stop any help, "Like I said I have no chakra, good match Tenten now go use your second chance wisely."
"I declare Tenten the winner of this round, next is Obi vs. Shino and that will conclude the third round." Hayate said as the two boys came down without him even asking.
Obi looked over at Shino with a bored expression on his face, "You sure you don't just want to quit now? Save me the hassle, I saw you fight before you have no chance of winning."
Shino thought over what Obi said carefully, the boy was right his chances of winning were nonexistent, but if he could damage this boy even a little than that might help further down the line.
"So Hokage, what do you think of my shinobi? He's made it this far and hasn't even broken a sweat yet, I can't say the same about your shinobi, maybe that's what happens when you have B-rated shinobi." A said with a grin as he watched his prized gennin come on to the arena floor. Though he didn't like how lazy his genin was acting, it was still smart, not showing off his powers just yet would be for the best including against the Uzumaki.
"Your shinobi is strong yes, but I have faith in my genin too, they also made it this far, and they still have some tricks left up their sleeve. Just watch Raikage-sama.
"I can not give up without giving it my all, even though I will lose if I tire you enough than that will set the way for my comrades to beat you." Shino said in his monotone voice.
"Heh, you're a mouthy little shit aren't you, thinking you could tire me." Obi said, unaware that the entire time they've been talking Shino has been letting out a small but steady stream of his insects throughout the battlefield.
He needed to stall as long as he could for this to happen, "I may be but I speak logically while you speak with emotion, if I can tire you out I have no doubt Naruto will beat you into the ground. So you really stand no chance" Shino said, this had angered Obi to much, he was tired of hearing Shino speak. Obi quickly leapt off towards the boy ready to finish this before he realized he was running slow ,and was already tired. 'What the hell..?' "Oh yes also I have my kikachu bugs on you, and they specialize in draining chakra, the longer you talk, the more they take." Shino said before bringing his arms up, "Now to finish this." He said while sending out a large amount of his bugs towards the boy.
Shino would have figured the boy would be fearful right now, but instead he smirked, "Denki Hifu no Jutsu (Electric Skin Technique)" Obi said, making Shino watch as the boys body was covered in lightning, killing all his kikachui on the boys body instantly, and zapping all the other insects that came in contact with him. "Maybe you're stronger than I thought, you took a lot of my chakra and made me waste more, but now you're done." Obi was about to charge but was stopped by Shino when he put his hand up.
Shino surprised Obi once again, "Protector I forfeit. I cannot allow him to destroy any more of my hive and I feel I have sufficiently tired him down." Shino said, surprising a lot of people in the audience.
"Hmph, bitch" Obi said before deactivating his jutsu and walking away from the field.
"This concludes the semifinals, now there will be a twenty minute break and the matches will start back up" Hayate said before disappearing to the kage booth.
"Good job Hayate, now for the finals things will be different. We're going to do a three way battle Royal" The third said making Hayate raise an eyebrow. "I understand your confusion with this decision, but myself and Kazekage-sama here spoke about it with the Raikage and we have decided this is best. We each respectively have our strongest genin in the finals and we have determined that this is the best way to host the final match. It'll be a free for all, winner automatically gets chunin."
Hayate nodded, "Hai Hokage-sama" He said before disappearing.
"So Raikage, do you still think your genin will win in the finals after what we just witnessed happen? He was careless enough to let a member of the Ambure clan stall him and not even noticed his chakra be drained, next thing we know he will just walk into an attack." Hiruzen said with a smirk riling up the younger kage.
"I still have full confidence in the ability of my shinobi, he won't fail me he knows what he needs to do. We all have our tricks Hokage-sama" the Raikage spit out.
"That may be but you have to remember, Naruto was trained by the one and only Jiraya of the Sannin. Naruto has a lot of secrets left to show." Hiruzen said, meanwhile Orochimaru sat in the booth quiet, he was already angered by the turn of events he wasn't sure what to do next.
"He may have been trained by that fool, but Obi was trained by none other than my little brother B" A said with a smirk. The conversation ended there with everyone thinking over the events.
The Tsuchikage was just as quiet but probably out of boredom since he no longer had any fighters left. Orochimaru knew that he would love to try and convince the Tsuchikage to join his side in this fight but that would instantly spark the 4th shinobi world war. The Raikage may be brash but he knows right from wrong and would help the Hokage out in the battle, even if the Tsuchikage joined him their might wouldn't be enough, and the Raikage's speed would be too much for Orochimaru, he wouldn't have the time to summon the previous kage to help him. Orochimaru clenched his fist angry about the turn of events.
He sat there stewing for a long period of time and before he knew it the finals had started, he looked down to hear Hayate calling out, "Hajime!"
Naruto was excited, he just had to beat these two and he would finally become a chunin. He started smiling and next thing he knew he was flying through the air, his back hurting. Temari had got him with an attack.
"What happened midget I thought you were better than that" she yelled out before closing her fan to stop an attack from Obi, "Good try cloud, but not fast enough" She said before kicking his ribs knocking him to the side.
"Fuck That damn leaf kid took more chakra than I thought, I should be faster damn it" Obi thought as he got back up to his feet.
"Alright time to push the odds in my favor" Naruto yelled confusing the two other shinobi as they faced him. Naruto smirked and crossed his hands in his signature style, "Taju Kage Bunshin no Jutsu" Naruto said flooding the arena with hundreds of clones..
Obi and Temari widened there eyes in horror at the sea of blonds in front of them, and they all spoke at once, "Who's ready for fun?"
Temari swung her fan sending out her signature wind jutsu, slices of wind flew towards the sea of blond clones popping them by the dozen, Obi just smirked and took out two kunai before charging the clones. The sea of blond clones started to disappear one by one, meanwhile the real Naruto was just sitting by the tree reading a book.
"Enjoying yourself kit? Making your clones do all the work while you read that damn book again" Naruto's immortal roommate said distracting the boy.
'Yes actually, this is nice, plus I love this book and you know that, this is a good way to tire these two out while show off more of my abilities like making a fuck ton of clones.' Naruto responded in a matter-of-fact voice.
"Whatever Kit, you do you, but it's dumb I thought you wanted to actually fight not be lazy like Kakashi" Kumara responded before lying down for a nap and cutting the connection.
'Stupid fox' Naruto thought to himself before sighing. "I hate when you're right, whatever lets do this" Naruto groaned out loud before hopping away from the tree. Naruto made the ram seal with one hand and dispelled all his clones. He looked at Temari and Obi, both seemed extremely tired and were panting hard.
"What kind of fucking monster are you" Obi said looking at the blond outraged, holding his left arm close to his chest as it was bleeding from an obvious cut.
"Now now Obi-kun" Naruto started as he slowly walked forward making the other two shinobi flinch in fear, "I hold the monster back" Naruto said flashing his eyes red and silhouetted, before going back to normal. That was enough to scare the other shinobi though, but Obi used his fear and turned it into anger. Obi charged at Naruto, the yellow boy sighed and stretched out his right arm.
"Jiraiya-kun is Naruto about to do what I think he is?" Hiruzen asked the boys teacher in anticipation of what was to come.
"Oh just watch, Naruto wanted to show off today, and now he shall" the perverted sage responded with a wide grin while Hiruzen groaned.
A spiral started to appear in Naruto's open hand as Obi charged him, before widening his eyes and coming to a slow stop. "Now now, why did you stop? I wanted to see how you would fare against my Rasengan" Naruto said with a smirk making the boys eyes turn fearful. Obi looked back up at the Raikage and the man closed his eyes before nodding. Giving Obi permission to do something.
Obi smirked, "This is where you lose Uzumaki-san" Obi stopped moving and closed his eyes, all of a sudden the ground started shaking. Obis very body started to vibrate and change colors before he yelled out, "Gate of Pain… OPEN!" He forced open the first 4 gates and then shot towards Naruto with insane speed.
"Warned ya kit" Kumara said with a snicker as he watched Naruto pull himself out of a crater that he was in.
Naruto struggled to pull himself out of the concrete wall, 'Shut up you damn fox' Naruto responded before releasing his gravity weights, he needs all the extra power and speed now. Meanwhile in the stands Gai was losing it, "YOSH! ANOTHER GENIN WITH THE POWER OF THE GATES HOW MAGNIFICENT!" he screamed with tears in his eyes. Meanwhile Kakashi looked on in earnest, it's rare for someone to be able to use the gates, but using 4 as a genin is insane, but it does explain the boys speed and power. Kakashi now watched carefully, how is Naruto going to keep up, even with his weights off he can't match this speed.
Obi aimed a punch for Naruto's gut, Naruto tried to dodge but to no avail, he wasn't fast enough and was forced to feel his kidney rip from the punch alone, Naruto fell to the ground on one knee. "Give up, I can tell Im destroying your insides with each punch, you can't keep up with me, like Uzumaki of the past you're weak" Obi said with a smirk before kneeing Naruto in the face knocking the boy back a few feet, breaking his nose at the time.
"Oh fuck, this won't be good" Kumara thought as he watched on with what just happened.
Flashback
"Kumara why is it I lose control when I use to much of our chakra? What's going on?" Naruto asked his tennant as he sat in his inner world.
"Kit I was confused the first time I saw it happen, but the problem is this old body of yours still has a lot of chakra from my old hate filling self and since I'm behind the seal I can't purify the chakra enough. This leads you susceptible to my old ways and can lead you to go into a violent rage. I can't fully understand it either in all honesty, but I believe if we can release the seal safely you should in theory be fine since that's what it took last time for you to be able to use my chakra." The fox replied before lying back down in his cage.
"So because my old body held you in it for so long it was contaminated with your evil chakra and since you are stuck behind the cage you can't help purify that chakra at all? Fuck this is going to suck, since I can't safely practice using your chakra, a little here and there but if I pull out a tail or more this won't be good" Naruto said, Kumara nodding agree with what he was saying.
End Flashback
Naruto's eyes became silhouette and red again, his internal injuries healing rapidly, Naruto stood up a couple seconds later no longer in pain as his chakra reserves filled themselves so much that red chakra started to leak off his body, His nails extended and his hair straightened, while his whiskers became more defined and hi teeth became more feral and fox/dog like. Some of the younger Inuzuka thought that Naruto was trying to steal their look and use their own techniques, but the older ones, including Tsume knew what was really happening and looked on in fear. She could feel that chakra from that night. Some of her clan saw her and got worried when they saw the fear in her eyes as she watched the blond, they started to quiet down and watched in interest now, before they too felt the chakra from the beast.
It was at this moment the entire stadium went chill, a majority of the stadium was konoha civilians or ninja, and when they felt the ki and chakra flowing off of Naruto they looked on in fear, awe, or intrest. Most of the population remember this chakra, and can distinctly remember the screams and smell of blood, the flames of fire hitting their body from the destruction that happened on that night. Right now everyone in the stadium minus a small handful of people were in full fear for their lives scared that the Kyuubi might break out right now.
Obi saw Naruto get up and watched as his looks started to change, but he didn't care that didn't bother him, what bothered him was the look in Naruto's eyes, and the feel of that awful chakra. Naruto very slowly walked towards him, his body radiating power. "You can dismiss me, you can hurt me. You can do whatever the fuck you want to me, but the minute you blame the people who gave me life, whose culture I come from that your people destroyed.." Naruto stopped talking for a second and stopped walking as he stood in front of Obi, the boy feeling small now compared to Naruto, "Well that's where you crossed the goddamn line" Naruto said as he smashed his fist into Obi's stomach, even with the power of four gates opened he felt his bottom two ribs shatter from the impact and fell to the ground coughing up blood. Looking up at the feral boy now truly knowing what fear was.. Naruto knocked the boy back with a roundhouse kick, now shattering the only tree in the arena.
Obi forced himself up to his feet, he felt the power of the gates leaving his body, he knew he had no other choice, he hasn't practice it much yet but this was his only chance at winning. "Gate of Limit.. OPEN!" He screamed as his power surged again.
The Raikage looked on in worry now 'the boy hasn't mastered this stage yet, this Uzumaki must be really strong to push Obi this far…' The kage thought as he watched the boy. "That Uzumaki of yours Hiruzen-san…. He's a jinchuriki isn't he?" The raikage said making the old kage widen his eyes as his secret was let out.
"How did you figure it out?" Hiruzen asked having to know.
"I have two perfect jinchuriki, you think I wouldn't know the power of one who has yet to learn it's power. At least now we know what really happened to the Kyuubi, Konoha did a good job at keeping their mouth shut about this matter." A said as Hiruzen mentally cursed since the secret was out in front of 2 other kages and Orochimaru now. "If you let this brat go without training his beast he will cause a lot of problems for everyone, you better do something about this Hiruzen" A said practically demanding it from his senior kage.
"Now you listen here and you listen well Raikage, you do not come into my village and disrespect me like that during a friendly tournament. How I raise and train my ninja is my choice, including when more of my genin made it through the exams than yours most of them just recently graduating from the academy a few months ago. Do not tell me what to do with my shinobi until yours can match the quality of my shinobi." Hiruzen said, tired of being pushed around.
"You better watch your words carefully old man" A said crushing his arm rest with his hand, making the concrete rest crack and break under the immense pressure from the large Kage. All of a sudden though the stadium shook, and it felt like an earthquake went off, this broke the kages attention from their squabble to watch the fight.
*BOOM* A large explosion went off after Obi's and Naruto's fist met together as both boys put all they had into a punch, the power of each others punch was immense from the power they were both excluding, and both boys were knocked back. Obi was faster to his feet as Naruto grabbed his arm, he knew it was broken but it would only be a minute or so until it was fully healed. But could he last that long against five gates? This power was insane, Naruto thought he might actually lose.
Obi charged Naruto with his insane speed, making the boy widen his eyes before he crossed his arms across his body to catch the foot coming at him, but it wasn't enough as Naruto flew back into the wall. Before he could even get out of his mini crater Obi came back driving his knee into Naruto's gut, Naruto felt his innards turn to mush as he coughed up blood and fell to the ground trying to move. People in the crowd started gasping at the brutality of the match, the Raikage was smirking as he saw this happen. "This is where it's going to end for you Uzumaki" Obi said as he walked towards the boy enjoying the moment.
Naruto then looked up at him, his red eyes vibrating, his chakra skyrocketing again, and his chakra becoming more malice and dark. "No This is where you fucking die" Naruto screamed as his voice became more demonic and he screamed as an aura surrounded the boy. The real fight was now going to start.
Author's note: sorry for the long time to update! I've been having some problems and my updates may take awhile now unfortunately, but alas I will be trying my hardest, I hope you all enjoyed this chapter, and are excited for what's to come next because I promise it is a surprise!
