Authors Note: Here is where I must apologize for my hiatus. It was untimed but life gets to everyone, and work has been kicking my ass but now I am starting to finally settle and get things under control. For that reason I am making this chapter extra long for you so please enjoy.
Small recap also: Shikamaru forfeited and Shino forfeited, and the three are currently in a battle royal!
"RAWR" Naruto screamed with such force that a strong breeze flew through the arena, kicking up dirt and dust all over the place. Obi raised a hand to cover his eyes while staying in his stance ready to block or attack.
Tenten didn't want to deal with any of this shit, she had no place in this match and was hiding. She didn't know what else she could do but hope that she didn't get noticed.
A sensation overcame Obi, a fear so filling he could envision his own death coming before him. He watched wide eyed as he saw a red cloud chakra overcome the boy in front of him and a single red tail come out from behind it. He scoffed a moment ago when Naruto said he was going to kill him, but now he was scared. He was truly terrified on a level he's never felt and didn't even know what kind of monster he was up against.
Naruto slowly got down on all 4's, his body vibrated with the power coming off of him, he started to hunch back like a cat getting ready to pounce. Obi got ready for anything but than Naruto disappeared, before Obi could react his body was soaring through the air before crashing into the wall, spider webbing it around him as he cratered the part he slammed into. The crowd above had gone mute, not a word being said, most of the Konoha citizens were staring in fear at what they saw. The were almost positive he Kyuubi was taking over, even though they're wrong it's just some chakra taking over, they don't know this but are also too scared to do anything. They couldn't move from their seats, all they could do was hope that the cloud shinobi would beat Naruto.
Hiruzen shot to his feat as he saw Naruto get overtaken by the chakra, knowing something was up due to the demonic chakra radiating off of the boys body. "Hiruzen you better fucking explain something right know" A said as his chakra started to spike. Hiruzen needed to talk fast this was getting worse by the second.
"Don't worry Obi won't die if need by my ninja will stop it before that happens I promise you A, everything will be okay, Naruto is in more control than you think" Even though he sounded confidant, Hiruzen had no idea what would really happen. But for a Genin to push Naruto so far, it was unbelievable. The kage couldn't believe it Just how strong is this next generation going to be, for a boy to be going this hard against Naruto. This generation has a strong future as long as we can keep it together Naruto.
Obi pushed himself out of the wall wiping away the blood from his lips. He coughed out a good amount of blood, he knew he took too much damage but his gates were already healing some of the damage. Obi wasn't stupid, he can't go any further and he won't last to much longer in this form. If he didn't end this soon he was done for. Obi took a deep breath but before he could even make another move he saw Naruto charge at him. He grew wide eyed and just barely dodged in time. He quickly bent backwards missing the swipe and without thinking he brought his leg up as hard as he could connecting with Naruto's jaw sending the boy up in the air, Obi quickly turned over and jumped up before slamming his fist into Naruto's gut.
Naruto grunted the attack hurt, but he smiled as he heard Obi scream out in pain. The red aura around him was hotter than fire and even though his leg was covered his fist had no protective wear around it, and the flesh was burnt on his hand. Obi stumbled backwards holding his hand shaking and breathing hard. "What the fuck did you do to me" His arm couldn't stop shaking as his hand was seizing in pain. Obi quickly got himself under control and knew this was the last thing he was going to do and quickly made some hand signs, "Raiton: Raikou Kousen no Jutsu (Lightning beam technique)" He shouted before extending his good arm towards Naruto shooting a beam of lightning at the jinchuriki in front of him. The attack didn't stop at the red chakra and Naruto instantly started to wither in pain, and due to the closeness of the two small beams of actual lightning bolts, Naruto was fully feeling the attack. Obi was quickly running out of chakra and Naruto still hadn't passed out. So with one final push Obi shout out all the chakra he could before the gates shut down on him and he fell to the ground barley conscious.
Naruto was on his hands and breathing hard. The Kyuubi's chakra leaving his body Naruto started to breath harder, his energy leaving him as the Kyuubi's chakra leaves his body.
The stadium was still deathly quiet and people were holding their breath waiting to see what was going to demon boy who overcame the Uchiha to many's surprise was now losing control it seemed and there was going to be a mass hysteria if he won again. People enjoyed the match with the Uzumaki and Uchiha it was a fair win, but this was deadly, and the power the boy brought out opened up many wounds that were still fresh and kept people scared. Something that hadn't been felt in a way with that much force was pushed out again and people started remembering that fateful night, but right now people were to scared to do anything or say anything. They just watched, Obi laying on the ground struggling to get up, Naruto on his hands and knees coughing up blood trying to stand. Hayate showed back up on the stadium ground and walked within 20 feet of the two boys waiting for something to happen.
"I can't lose here, this isn't just my fight, I have something to prove" Obi spat out as he forced himself to his hands and knees, coughing out blood due to the body strain from the use of the gates when his body wasn't ready for it. Naruto grinned as he watched the boy get up. It would be easy to just quit, let the other boy win. He'd get chunin no matter what, but at the same time he couldn't quit. It wasn't in him to just give up though. He forced his body to get up, he's got up from worse than this so no way was he going to give up here. Naruto looked up and saw obi standing also, they were both on their feet.
Naruto put his hands on his knees and let out a wheezing laugh, "You can't just let me win huh"
"I told you I have something to win for" Obi yelled before slowly charging Naruto his fist raised. Naruto widened his eyes and leaned back before letting go with a punch of his own, each fist connected with the other's face. Both fell back a little before they each swung again, and once more both fist connected. The two kept this up, both out of chakra, energy seemingly coming from nowhere, before Naruto got lucky.
He quickly got in a leg sweep and descended onto Obi with a kunai in hand. Pressing the weapon into the boys neck, "Just give up you can't win now, you move this kunai goes into your jugular and you lose" Naruto said trying to keep the kunai from slicing through the boys neck.
Obi stared at Naruto, eyes full of hate obviously trying to decide what to do. How he could get away. "Tsch" He could barely bring himself to do it, "Protector I forfeit" Obi finally said. Naruto sighed with a smile and rolled off the boy lying on his back feeling relieved.
Hayate looked back at the boy and nodded, Naruto let him go and the proctor grabbed him before losing. Naruto was confused as to why he wasn't declared the winner before he saw it. "I was smart to hide up here" Tenten said from the top of the stadium wall.
The girl hoped on down with a grin, ready to win. "Oh Kakashi, our two little prodigies fighting each other for the win, this is certainly a wonderful display of youth!" Maito Gai, Tenten's sensei yelled out while hugging Kakashi from the side. The one eyed cyclops sighed to himself before shoving the man off him.
"Gai, get yourself under control and just watch the match why don't ya, everyone is already cheering for Tenten after what just happened with Naruto. The people are scared again." Gai's face was more serious, what Kakashi said was true people were terrified of the boy once more. It saddened Gai to see this, but it also made sense the people never healed from the original attack years ago so feeling this much of the Kyuubi's chakra in one go was a lot. It was too much for them.
Gai turned his attention to the match he wasn't sure what to expect, but he was giddy full of excitement he couldn't wait to watch this youthful match. "So you ready to lose" Naruto grinned as he heard Tenten say that. But he knew she was probably right. He had his own limits and he had reached them with his fight against Obi. That was something his body couldn't exactly tolerate and he pushed himself to knew limits, forcefully controlling the one tailed cloak form.
"Yap all you want too, but don't count me out yet we both know I'm not done until I'm dead" Naruto said, not even believing his own words.
Naruto knew his body wasn't ready for the fight he bent down as if he were stretching but really he was calming himself down. He breathed in deeply and before he could breathe out he was getting roundhouse kicked by Tenten, somehow he missed the protector telling them to start. This wasn't good, and she could sure as hell kick hard. Naruto looked up to see Tenten with a bo staff. His face fell and he quickly pulled out two kunai to block with as she swung at him. Fuck was all the boy could think as he slid into the dirt doing the best he could not to get knocked off his feet again. She was strong, and even the cool wind on his body he just couldn't off. He could feel every ache in his body, how easy it would be to just lie down and quit but he knew he couldn't. Naruto stood up ignoring every ache and pain in his legs and back, ignoring the weakness he felt as he stood straight up, or the now growing bruise on his face from where he was kicked. But quitting or giving up wasn't in him and he knew….
"And like that Tenten has won the finals!" The crowd started cheering and yelling as Naruto was face down on the ground after getting whipped in the back of the head by Tenten.
"Humph, guess the gaki isn't as good as you thought Hiruzen, that girl made easy work of him" A said with both his arms crossing over his chest as he sat down pleased with himself.
"Well no one is invincible and after that amazing display with Obi what was to be expected. Naruto and Obi completely forgot about the girl, thinking she was beneath them and ended up wasting all of their own chakra and stamina fighting each other. By the time Naruto had realized he left Tenten out of the fight he was exhausted and she was still rested and ready to go." Hiruzen explained to the other kage with him. No one really replied, not wanting to talk much, Hiruzen understood, his village was the one to make it to the finals making it unlikely for anyone else to take the win. At the end of the day though it was still a good tournament and no one died thankfully. The matches were good and most everyone seemed to enjoy them, even if the ending was quite melodramatic.
Hiruzen stood up to his feet and than jumped down to the arena floor. Using a mic that was attached to his robes he turned it on to speak to the stadium. "Another year has come and once more the chunin exams are over. We had a hoard of amazing talent this year, and a lot of wonderful genin will soon be promoted, while yet a majority will be focusing on what they need to for the next time they take these exams. It was amazing to see what transpired today. In a surprising twist of fate, our young Tenten from my own village won the tournament." Hiruzen walked over to the girl and put a hand on her shoulder, "Tenten, I would like to congratulate you on the win, you have come a long way and faced many hard trials and tribulations to get here. So once again, congratulations on winning the tournament, and being the first genin I promote to the rank of chunin" The crowd started cheering as Hiruzen finished off his little talk, whooping and hollering for the first chunin to come out of the exams. "I would also like to especially thank our guest, A the Raikage and Onoki the Tsuchikage for making it to these exams. Even though neither of their genin were able to win the final bout, both of their villages showed off tremendous amounts of strength. I expected nothing less than what I saw from those two villages, their shinobi were splendid and will grow into even stronger ninjas in their own time. Hopefully you two saw what I saw today in your own genin" Hiruzen said, calling out hs guest.
Hiruzen looked up to see the two kage grinning before they jumped down next to him. There was still a roar of acceptance from the crowd seeing the two other kage standing peacefully with the Leaf's kage. A smiled, "It was a good day you two old goats, still would have rather my genin won, but things happen, he got unlucky fighting a jinchuriki" Hiruzen just looked at the man, no ill feelings were between any one of them. "Plus if he didn't fight the Uzumaki" some hate easily behind that last word, "Than I can guarantee that Obi would have won the tournament, but tell me Hiruzen is that boy a real Uzumaki. I could have sworn they were all wiped out during the second war besides that one who was wiped out in the kyuubi attack a few years ago." Hiruzen stayed quiet, he knew this would come out, but if anyone links Kushina to Minato it will be bad, very very bad.
"It's as I said earlier, his mother was Kushina Uzumaki, and she was a pureblooded Uzumaki from Uzi. Who the father is, is beyond me, but that's enough talk on the past let us focus on the future" with that Hiruzen ended the conversation, meanwhile, Onoki was plotting something silently to himself.
He wanted to be done with this damned village. They allowed his shinobi into the 3'd round just to humiliate them. The Leaf was always trying to show off and look better, when in reality they're just weak snobs who can't do anything worth a damn. But now wasn't the time or place, in the heart of the village, he would be labeled a criminal for breaking a war crime. Starting an attack during the exams was completely forbidden, all villages have agreed to that. But his time would come, for that he was sure. He knew not when, but his day was coming soon, and if Orochimaru meant what he told him today than the Leaf's destruction will be assured. And Onoki will be the leading factor because of it.
"Well Hokage, I will see what I can do about having B talk to the kid. He obviously needs help, and the only thing more dangerous than a tamed jinchuriki is an untamed one." A said, "Don't expect this as a freebie though, I will come back to you in the future for a favor. I don't know what, but it will come" A's voice was stern and serious, Hiruzen nodded in acceptance though.
"Alright everyone let's head to the celebratory dinner" Hiruzen said dismissing everyone to go to the feast that was set up.
Everyone in the stadium started getting up, the mood was up, everyone was happy, or passed out in the case of Naruto and the other shinobi currently in the hospital. Jiraiya showed up next to Hiruzen, "Sensei, he's gone I can't find a trace of him."
"Damnit, I knew it was too good to be true. Again, I've failed to keep my village completely safe, this is just a temporary win, but things are in motion now and people are moving. I fear for what will become of all of us" Jiraiya looked at his teacher worried. He knew he was right, everything that's happened in the last two months including with Naruto, things were changing, and they were changing fast. Jiraiya knew what he had to do, he had to leave and soon. He needed to warn his network and get the word out fast about what everyone needed to do and what to look for. And he had to find out more information on the Akatsuki fast. Itachi was doing good, but it wasn't enough and he can't risk exposing the boy yet. He couldn't leave Naruto though. He was strong, hell as strong as Kakashi, or even Itachi was when they were his age, but that's not enough because if he ever went serious Naruto wouldn't stand a chance. He needed to make sure that Naruto could beat even him no problem. If Nagato and everyone else was really going to be coming for him. Hell even Kisame, Naruto had to get stronger fast. He was already a monster for his age but that wasn't enough.
"Sensei…"
"You don't even need to ask Jiraiya, tomorrow if he's awake bring him with you. But tomorrow by midday you will be gone. 24 hours is all you have, and also find Tsunade, it's time for things to start moving and his training to start. Sasuke is going to have round the clock training with Kakashi and Gai, don't worry he'll get stronger, I'll send you to A for Naruto to train with Bee when it's time." Hiruzen already knew what his student wanted to say.
"Yes sensei" With that Jiraiya disappeared, he had to get ready. There were things that needed to get done fast, and time was of the essence.
He shot up ready to defend himself, but then he saw the hospital room around him. The boy grabbed his head it hurt, then he turned over the side of his bed, oh thank god, he grabbed the trash can and hurled his insides into it. The boy felt sick, and his body hurt all over. He grabbed the sides of his sheets, his fists clenching until blood was pouring out of his hands. "Goddamnit" He screamed aloud to no one but himself, slamming his fist into the wall, a Nurse quickly ran into the room.
"Uchiha-sama is everything alright! Oh my your hands here let me see…" Sasuke tore his hands away from the nurse his sharingan raging to life. When he looked up, he saw himself in the mirror though. What he saw, the hate in his eyes, it scared him, he was ready to kill this innocent nurse, Sasuke took a deep breath and turned off the flow of chakra going to his eyes deactivating his sharingan.
"I'm sorry nurse-san, I didn't mean to" Sasuke handed her his hands letting her inspect them. The nurse hesitantly took them, once she could tell that he was sincere in what he was doing she calmed down enough to accurately do her job.
"Thank you Uchiha-sama, the bleeding isn't that bad and is already healing up. Now for the rest of your body…" She picked up his chart to be more thoroughly accurate with the boy. "You have, 3 broken ribs, 4 bruised ribs, your right arm is broken, you also went into tracheal deviation, otherwise known as a collapsed lung, but don't worry we fixed that up for you. You also had 3 seperate breaks in your left leg, but again everything was fixed to the best of our abilities, it will hurt to walk for a while we recommend not training for about 2-3 weeks so your body can fully heal and you don't put yourself back in here too soon." Sasuke was getting annoyed at hearing all of his injuries. How could Naruto do this to him, how did he get so strong? It didn't add up at all.
The nurse took a breath looking over the chart making sure she hit everything when someone else walked in the room, "Yo" that distinctive voice, Sasuke would know it anywhere even if he was dead.
He groaned looking up to meet his teacher in his eye, "Sensei, how may I help you?" Sasuke wasn't sure what the man could say to help him.
"Well there's a few things we need to talk about, nurse if you would please leave us" Kakasi spoke in a kind tone, but with enough force to let the nurse know he would make sure the two would be alone to talk. Sasuke was surprised to see the nurse leave without a word back. "First off; your match against Naruto, I get it you're pissed off because of what happened, but don't worry about it." Sasuke wanted to yell at him but Kakashi put his hand up stopping the boy, "I say this for a reason, you will be taking the next two weeks to do nothing but heal. Immediately following that myself, and Gai will be your new instructors. We will be putting you on a new regiment to train you harder than you ever have. That is because of the fact that Naruto is leaving the village soon for his own training, before you ask no I cannot tell you only Naruto or the Hokage can tell you. You are also going to be training with us because you have the potential to be extremely strong and me and Gai are the best teachers for you outside of Itachi himself, and we all know that will never happen."
Kakashi stopped talking for a minute to let Sasuke comprehend everything that was just thrown at him. This was a lot of information but he also wasn't being told everything, Sasuke was smarter than that and he knew there was more to it. "Why is Naruto leaving the village? If you can't tell me that at least tell me who he's leaving with" Sasuke asked his teacher wanting answers.
"I'm sorry Sasuke but I can't tell you those things, I was ordered not to, and now I am ordering you to take these next two weeks to not train but heal" Kakashi wanted to be able to be open with his student but knew he couldn't. He also knew that Sasuke wasn't going to sit still, he'd have to tail the boy to make sure he properly healed.
"What are we going to train in." Sasuke wasn't asking, he was telling the man to give him the answers now.
"Everything" Sasuke looked at the man confused. Kakashi sighed at the boys ignorant face, "There isn't a field I won't train you in. You might not know this but I trained Itachi" Sasuke's eyes widened even more, Kakashi knew he had the boys full attention. "I can help give you the power you want in a controlled manner. You cannot rush this do you understand me" Now he had to see the boys loyalties.
"Why not? I need to get as strong as possible now!" Sasuke seemed pissed at this.
"Sasuke if you want to be the best you that you can be, then you need to get strong gradually. If you try to force it like you do when you use your sharingan, then you'll never get truly strong and Itachi will destroy you. You need to trust me on this. I will make you as strong as humanly possible, but only if you listen. Because I will not waste my time, you thought this last month was hard, but that will be nothing. If you want to truly get better you will listen to me and do everything I say to the letter, or else I will do everything possible to hinder you" Kakashi needed to make sure he could keep Sasuke here and listening to him. "I know you may be tempted with other power, but there's a reason why the strongest shinobi ever produced came from this village. You want to be one of the greats, than you will follow me and my ways and no one elses do you understand me"
Sasuke clenched his fists while his thoughts attacked himself. Unsure of what to do, he wanted Itachi dead yesterday, and now he's being told to wait even longer, possible years to grow stronger first. Being told he was too weak, but at the same time his sensei made a lot of sense. The power he could get here would be intense, and amazing. Sasuke reflexively brought his hand up to the curse mark on his neck, and he remembered what he saw with Orochimaru. 'Orochimaru had real power, and he wants to give me that power though… but wait didn't the third hokage train him? Maybe Kakashi's right… for now I'll have to trust him and when there's nothing more left for me here I will go to Orochimaru' with that last thought Sasuke knew what he needed to do. "Ok… I'll do what you ask of Sensei, I promise you" Sasuke said after relaxing himself and letting his fist unclench and lie by his side.
"Good, now get some rest" With that Kakashi left his student to his thoughts. Now that, that was done with he needed to go say goodbye to Naruto before the boy leaves with Jiraiya.
Kakashi walked down the hallway to the ICU and when he got in there he was happy to see that the hospital actually took care of Naruto and didn't just leave him be like they were known for doing in the past. The man walked to the boys bed and saw him sleeping so he quickly grabbed a nurse, "So how's my student doing?"
This nurse knew Kakashi, it was luck she was grabbed by him she always admired the man for watching the boy when he was little. The boy was constantly in the ICU due to the villagers, so she made sure to try and properly help him. "It's good to see you too Kakashi-san, Naruto's doing good he should be awake by tonight at the latest. I'm surprised he's not already up as it is. The Kyuubi's chakra pretty much healed any damage he had, for now he's just exhausted, the rest of his injuries should be healed by tomorrow or the day after."
"Thank you Kawanin, I'll just wait here with him than" Kakashi had some things he needed to discuss with his student, and that was going to happen today one way or another.
